how do you closed a thread you started

can someone please tell me how to close a thread you started once you have the answer you need

You can delete the thread by deleting the first post, and you can request to have it closed via a PM to a moderator, but you can't close them yourself.

Alternatively, you can soft delete the thread by clicking "Thread Tools" at the top of the page and selecting "Delete thread" under admin tools. You can do this only on your own threads, of course.
