Rakdos the Defiler - Dissension. Rare
2BBRR: Legendary Creature - Demon
Flying, trample
Whenever Rakdos the defiler attacks, sacrifice half the non-demon permanents you control, rounded up.
Whenever Rakdos deals combat damage to a player, that player sacrifices half the non-Demon permanents he or she controls, rounded up.
7/6

amazing. just amazing. 6 for a 7/6 flyer with flying AND trample. Sure, it can clear your board, but your opponent's board is in danger as well. Just watch out when this is your only creature out in play because you will have to sacrifice Rakdos itself. Otherwise, swing away. It's nice to know that it can surpass untargetability.

The Duck's Rating: 3.5/5

A 7/6 with flying and trample is nice for six mana and the effect is decent. 2/5

7/6 for 6 and Flying and Trample is good enough. Stick in a Zombie deck, and rampage. w00t!

4/5.

It says permanents. You'll be sac'ing lands. the only way youll have to sac this guy....well, you cant, because he's a demon. So you can't sacrifice him to that ability. I'm fairly sure of that, but I could be wrong. Someone double check me on that.

Anyways, it's big and it flies. With a huge drawback. For both players. But he should win you the game anyways so it wont matter.

So Eh.

this card would rock if you had only demons, but either way it's only really good later in the game and if you have a lot of permanents to "feed" the card.

This is definitely an end-game card. It's murderous, damaging, and it can kill. Who wants a piece of it? So what if you lose your lands? Chances are, you probably won't even need mana. Just hit the beatdown. Of course it can die by getting killed, but Redirect and Whispersilk Cloak can stop that. >_< For a while.

Orrrrr..., you can be really gay and play non-standard legal Artifact Land + DS Forge combos.

Destroy =/= Sacrifice. This thing still makes you sack indestructible stuff. Neway, this is a game-ender and nothing more, and not worth playing against black. 2/5

Damn, keep forgetting that rule. Oh well, it can be more than a game ender though, assuming you can constantly spawn Saprolings and the like faster than you can destroy them...
I dunno, but I don't fancy this card much. As far as insane sarcifice-spam game-enders are concerned, my favourite is still the Tears of Rage.

7/6, flying, trample with a drawback that is not a drawback just for 2BBRR. See, Rakdos (the guild) is meant to be played with the least amount of thinking (I mean in the game, you just have to kick arse), also it is meant to be fun to play. For me, dealing 6 damage and making someone sacrifice permanents is fun.

With all this sacking you're doing, it would be funny if someone played Diabolic Edict on you after you sacked the rest of your creatures. Funny, but not fun for you.

What can also be fun is after your opponent swings with Rakdos, you could Boomerang/other removal during Declare Blockers step. Resulting in your opponent saccing most of their permanents, but dealing no damage. Most of the time, they'd sac lands so they wouldn't be able to play Rakdos again.

fun fun.

So in conclusion, Rakdos the Defiler is decent, but really, really, fun.

Of course, you can build it around as a game-ender. So what if you block? There's all meh zombies waiting behind.......

One thing Pikachuism...
Demons =/= Zombies. Now that we have that settled...
Meh.

Felix Feral Fezirix

Mmm? I thought it was Zombies. Sorreh.

Anyway, just build the Demon deck and be done with it. <_<

I would like to remind you that demons are infamous for dealing a player damage on a turnly basis...

Felix Feral Fezirix

Which is where you play Direct Damage cards so that the opponen dies faster than YOU. In fact, it's supposed to be so. Rakdos is Red/Black, my man.

Red = DD
Black = Zombies

There you have it.
