Time Stop - Champions of Kamigawa. Rare

End the turn. (Remove all spells and abilities on the stack from the game, including this card. The player whos turn it is discards down to his or her maximum hand size. Damage wears off, and "this turn" and "until end of turn" effects end.)




Obviously the best counterspell in the game if you exclude the mana cost. This would work well vs. any deck if you jus thave enough mana to play this card. It either removes their best creature from the game or gets their combo piece removed from the game. Either way, if you can just get enough mana....

I would also like to note that you could play this during your opponents Upkeep, causing them to not draw a card. It would be like Time Walk, as Shadow Trainer said, but they would still get to untap.

6 mana for a counterspell? Not really worth it, I think as far as ending turns are concerned, one would be better off aquiring a Beacon of Tomorrows to get multiple turns.

I do like this card because it serves many purposes. If you just judge it for its counterspell ability, of course you will think that it's bad. But it's really good.

at least 3.5/5.

Playing this after resolution of a Dark Rit/Seething Song is fun, think of all the burn they'll take. It's fairly costed for such a strong effect but it is pretty broken once you have the mana. 3.5/5

I think it's a good late game spell, obviously when you have lots of mana to spend. It could save you from a lot of spells if you're at the end of your rope.

Actually, i dont think thatll work. If you play Time Stop in response to Rit/Song it'll remove it from the stack and from the game, causing your opponent to get no mana. Now if you play it in resp to the next card coming, 9/10, your opponent would use up all of their mana already causing no burn either. correct?

Rar. This card basically counters a card and ends a turn. It's not that good 'neways. Can't think of a practical way to use it. I should look at that article.

This can actually legally screw Darksteel Colossus to some forgotten place called the "Removed from the game" zone.

And sorry, no "Removed from the game removed from the freakin' game" zone.
