Digital Media Rules

General Rules

General Rules still apply unless stated otherwise
As with any part of the forum, the general rules still apply. Do not SPAM. Do not post with the intention of causing arguments. Do not double post. Do not bump old topics. Check the main forums rules (http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?p=3504122#post3504122) if you are ever in doubt.

Provide proper warnings
If the work you are showing contains scenes that may upset someone, are controversial or contain artistic nudity then put a proper warning in the title and use direct links only. If you are ever in doubt contact one of the DM Moderators.

With regards to comments and ratings
The Star ratings should not be taken seriously. It's the comments inside the topics that should mean anything, and even then it's the constructive ones that you should be taking mind of. Anything else you shouldn't worry about. On the same note, we ask people not to rate threads using the star system for silly reasons such as you not liking the subject matter, or you disagreeing with the topic creator.

Do not reply to a topic with "Oh I love that it's so cool 10/10!". That is as helpful as using a water pistol full of lighter fluid to save an orphanage on fire. Provide constructive criticism. The more you offer good responses to peoples work, the better responses you'll get to yours.

Disclaimers, Permissions and Ownership

Chances are if you're making something that uses media other than that you've created yourself, then you wont have permission to use the material. For this, a copy and paste disclaimer will be available at the end of these rules, but please make sure you put some-kind of disclaimer with any work to say that anything you didn't create yourself belongs to the respective persons.

If you are found to be stealing someone else's work and passing it off as your own, you WILL be warned.

If you want to show off something that you did not make, then there is a thread especially for that. In it, you put anything you found and just want to comment on. You can only post someone elses's worth in your own topic when you are using it as a comparison to your own work, as means of inspiration or as an example of something you wish to achive. Otherwise it all goes in this topic, the "I didn't make this" (http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=125683) topic.

Attachments

Attachments are not big enough to hold images, and are certainly not big enough for Video or Audio media. A list of hosts will be provided at the end of the rules.

Requests

The Digital Media forum is for showcasing only. Do not start request threads or shops here. Any that are made will be closed, and further creation of them will earn you a warning. If you want to make things for people, or you want to request something, then do so in Fan art Requests or PM the person concerned.

Showcasing

Please do not just post a link to your Gallery (be it Deviant Art, Photobucket, etc). Make sure you link to some specifica peices of art that you want to showcase, and tell us somehting about them. At your veiwers conveinence you can then mention the rest of your gallery.

I studied Digital Video Design in University, so I have made lots of videos, they're just not AMV's or such. When I get round to shrinking their file size below 600MBs I'll probably upload them

I do have one question, and this has been bugging me since I first joined this forum.

Say there is a video or something along the lines that probably at one point had a copyright in the past (don't know if it still does), but nowadays, it's literally impossible to find anywhere except on the net (like, say part of a stand-up routine).

Would it be alright to link to a clip of it in the 'I didn't make this' thread?

I got a question too.
Um, is there any sites that hosts Moviemaker files? Because I made some clips in Moviemaker, and that's the only thing I have to make my movies.

Also, I was planning to show some clips on here if that's okay. It's just bascially Tv characters from TV shows kissing someone (One of them is two lesbians but trhat shouldn't matter), and Kelly's Clarkson song "A moment like this", would thayt be okay to be here (Once I upload it, I was going to put in on photobucket but it's being slow today)
