Anybody else love this excellent manga?

I love it! I've read every volume at least 5-6 times and i still can't get over it. It's just a great love story that's very touching. But insanely hillarious at the same time!

I now call Ken Akumatsu "Akumatsu-Sama" ^.^

Yes, I love this manga! I'm a big fan of Akamatsu-sensei's works since Mahou Sensei Negima, and particularly a fan of Aoyama Motoko and Tama-chan!

I'm particularly fond of Shinobu. I also love Tama-chan! One of the funniest things in the series was when she left Hinata House

Pretty meh romantic harem comedy manga. Still a hell of a lot better than the anime, though.

Same, except replace "meh" with "horrid."

The only thing that I liked about Love Hina was the art. It had at least had that smooth appeal about it... otherwise, repetitious characters, plot points, etc. are not what I look for in an "excellent" manga, or piece of fiction altogether.

I don't get how it's repetitious, but all their own.

I'm male, and I love my action... but this i the first manga to ever make me go "OMG SOOOO KAWAAAII!!!". I'm not kidding. I was literally rubbing the manga against my cheek becuase of some of Shinobu's reactions. :)

There are better comedy manga out there. There are better romance manga out there. There are better harem manga out there (though the majority of them still suck).

And this is besides the point that the male lead is pretty much tied with the guy from Shuffle for worst anime lead ever.

I don't get how it's repetitious, but all their own.

There was honestly no real progression in characters, the same cliché jokes were used over and over again, and the plot twists didn't help, either.

I'm male, and I love my action... but this i the first manga to ever make me go "OMG SOOOO KAWAAAII!!!". I'm not kidding. I was literally rubbing the manga against my cheek becuase of some of Shinobu's reactions. :)

I'm male, and I can appreciate a good ol' fight here and there as well, but I still can't stand the series. Shinobu is also one of the reasons on my long list of reasons why I hated myself after reading it.

To your last point, Ah! My Goddess and Tenchi Muyo are the lone exceptions -- mind you I haven't read much of either, but enough to realize this.

And this is besides the point that the male lead is pretty much tied with the guy from Shuffle for worst anime lead ever.

You must not have ever heard, let alone read Ichigo 100%. He makes Keitaro look like a goldenboy (not to be confused with the Keitaro from the anime OVA and manga Goldenboy).

Relatedly, Goldenboy kicks the *** of Love Hina by far.

Did you even bother to read al 14 volumes?

Can't speak for him, but I know I did, and I know I lost at least a few brain cells after doing so.

You'll lose more brain cells reading Negima if you don't like Love Hina, so don't do it. Although I love both series, I respect your opinion, as you seem like a very intelligent person.

I'm currently in the process of buying the first three volumes of "No Need For Tenchi!". I loved the anime when i was younger and I like harem/action manga. So it should be a good fit for me.

I have one question though... did you buy all 14 volumes? If you did... why did you spend most likely $100+ on a series that you didn't like?

I've read all fourteen volumes of the manga (thank God I didn't buy any of them; that would be a waste of money) and I liked the first three volumes, but after that, it went downhill rather quickly.

There are so many things the manga-ka could've done on some parts too, like when Keitaro went to the United States. He could've actually done things there, or have something interesting come up or SOMETHING, rather than skipping ahead and having him come back in the next chapter. T_T;

Love Hina is another overrated series, although it's enjoyable to a degree in some areas but droning in everything else, especially the perversion comedy that keeps repeating itself (the manga author probably thinks people will still think it's funny after the one-billionth time). e_e

Yes, the "pervert" jokes did and are old/stale. But now I read it for the inspiring storyline. It shows you no matter how much you fail, or how many times you get punched into the stratosphere, you can do whatever you want to do. Many people don't actually see this through all the repetitous jokes and fanservice.

I've read all of Ichigo 100%, and there's one thing that makes Manaka better than Keitaro: Manaka actually has enough of a spine to make a decision in the end.

Check out Oh My Goddess, preferrably the new unflipped volumes, as well. Good read from what I've read so far.

They're called "scans," if ya didn't know.

"Inspiring storyline"? I got that whole "theme" that was common through the manga, but that whole idea has been presented much more commonly, not to mention better, in other manga and anime. Plus, the theme is a bit too optimistic and doesn't show much as far as consequences go, something that say, an U.S. movie like Forrest Gump did VERY well.

I've read all of Ichigo 100%, and there's one thing that makes Manaka better than Keitaro: Manaka actually has enough of a spine to make a decision in the end.

Eh, Keitaro makes a choice as well, but he just doesn't act on it. When looking at the situations that Manaka when through, no real guy would honestly act that stupid, oblivious, and "innocent" as he did.

I have a decent paying job and I usually buy my manga used from a friend that sells it to me for about $3-5 instead of the usual $10. I also have pretty much nothing else to use my money on. I have no gilfriend right now so no money's going there, I hardly ever use my car enough to actually use a significant ammount of gas...

So buying my manga isn't really a problem. lol

Manaka has a will of steel, I guess :P

Metaphorically, he was able to survive hydrogen bomb after hydrogen bomb hit him and he was able to not react at all. No healthy man, let alone a male teen, could do that. Love Hina had more believability there, but that's not saying much.

Unless I really do like I a series and plan to read it again, I'm not going to own it. Same is true for anime. For on-going mainstream shounen manga... eh, I'll stick to the scans. It isn't like they aren't getting enough money and support as it is, and they really aren't offering anything else except for the manga, unlike, say, what Gainax does for Neon Genesis Evangelion and all those nice artbooks and figures. [/Is a fanboy and proud of it.]

I'd prefer not spending thousands of dollars on manga you can get for free like you do.

At least support the series that you really enjoy and not be a cheap-a*s, though. I would hope that you'll buy 20th Century Boys when Viz finally puts that out. :/

For the word, Viz plans to release 20th Century Boys once Monster is over, per Urasawa's request.

But sometimes there's manga, like Love Hina, that isn't worth $150 to buy.

Which is why I'm grateful for scanlations.

And HellKorn, you're an Eva fanboy too, eh? Asuka or Rei? :p

Uh, well, I'm not one of those fanboys per se that go about saying "MISATO/ASUKA/REI IS HAWT!!" and such, but I suppose I myself favor Asuka due to her determination, successes, spirit, and other qualities that are surprisingly not perverted. She also gets the most sympathy out of the entire cast from me due to her past, not to mention that she is one of, if not the most complex character, aside from Shinji and Misato to a lesser degree, so figuring out her character is an interesting one. I also have an interest in the German and Russian language, and since she falls under the former, I have a partiality to that. Plus, while I do find Rei's character to be interesting and breaking of a stereotype (which, in turn, created stereotypes based on her character after the anime was finished, but that's another story), I just can't get emotionally into her character because as far as personality goes, she just isn't that interesting -- which causes me to wonder why some of her fanboys are so attracted to her, other than some of her symbolic qualities (the wonderer of life and identity), and her own physical form. But I digress.

So, without going into an incredibly long essay about the subject, Asuka would take the position as my favored character.

Negima probably has the best art style i've ever seen in a manga.

You've not read many manga series than, have you? I take it you've never seen the art of types like Takehiko Inoue, Hiroaki Samura, Hirano Kohta, Yoshitoshi ABe, Range Murata, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and my personal favorite, Miura Kentaro? And that's just to name a few.

They make Akamatsu look like an amature, though admittedly he does at least have that nice clean appeal to his art. Other than that, I don't really find it to be all that impressive.

BTW, Ichigo 100% is better than Love Hina imho.

I could only force myself to read fifty chapters of that. I had to quit, find out it ends, realize that the manga-ka likes to make his decisions based on the poll results given by the readers, and conclude that it was a waste of time, paper, and space on the Internet.
