Do Natures have a cap or something? I was leveling one of my FakeMon who has a low low Base Defence stat of 35 with a BOLD nature. Now his attack is 7 and his Defence is an incredible 332 at level 34.

Wtf happened here? A Nature adds 10 percent to a certain stat and lowers another 10 percent in addition to the +1 in normally gets. So that means I can have a BOLD nature with 6 Defence at level 2. It levels up a bit to 10 and now has 25 Defence. Now at 15 he has 46. Now at 20 he has 80. What's going on here?

Help me with what you mean by Fakemon. Is it a fake game?

Yes. I doubt it's an error in my coding because I made it so that 10% rounded of the stat is added to the stat or decreased.

Moonlight.

It's a programing error. It should be impossible for a Pokemon with base 35 in Defence to have so much defence.

But, at level 2 he has 7 Defence.

Click to show how he levels up. I made an error and put in 7 defence.

When he levels he gets 9 Defence +2 Level 3
Next 11 Defence +2 Level 4
Next 13 Defence +2 Level 5
Next 15 Defence +2 Level 6
Next 18 Defence +3 Level 7
Next 21 Defence +3 Level 8
Next 24 Defence +3 Level 9
Next 27 Defence +3 Level 10
Next 31 Defence +4 Level 11
Next 35 Defence +4 Level 12
Next 40 Defence +5 Level 13

Next 51 Defence +6 Level 15
Next 57 Defence +6 Level 16
Next 64 Defence +7 Level 17
Next 71 Defence +7 Level 18
Next 79 Defence +8 Level 19
Next 88 Defence +9 Level 20
Next 98 Defence +10 Level 21
Next 109 Defence +11 Level 22
Next 121 Defence +12 Level 23
Next 134 Defence +13 Level 24
Next 148 Defence +14 Level 25

My math may be a bit off but you can see that it does make sense if it follows the 10 percent thing. And he doesn't even have EVs yet.

Your math is wrong. With no EVs, (and no IVs either?) it shouldn't be adding up that fast. (Who has ever seen anything +14 without EV training?)

The stat formula is like this:
int(int(((IV + 2*Base + Floor(EffortPoints/4)) * Level/100) + 5)*Nature)

( int(x) truncates the decimal part, leaving the integer part.)

It seems to me from what you've written is like you're trying to use a formula for how much it adds each level. The game doesn't use that. It just uses the above formula, checks to see how much it was, and what it becomes for the +?.

Note: Caterpie also has 35 base Defense, so that's what I used. Numbers are for a Bold Caterpie, no IVs or EVs.

Level 2 -- 6 Def
Level 3 -- 7 Def (+1)
Level 4 -- 7 Def (+0)
Level 5 -- 8 Def (+1)
Level 6 -- 9 Def (+1)
Level 7 -- 9 Def (+0)
Level 8 -- 11 Def (+2)
Level 9 -- 12 Def (+1)
Level 10 -- 13 Def (+1)
Level 11 -- 13 Def (+0)
Level 12 -- 14 Def (+1)
Level 13 -- 15 Def (+1)
Level 14 -- 15 Def (+0)

Level 22 -- 22 Def (+2)
Level 23 -- 23 Def (+1)
Level 24 -- 23 Def (+0)
Level 25 -- 24 Def (+1)

Wow, that's complicated.

On a side note, Vealinquince, what was my username again on Topaz Forums?
