Whats a good nature, moveset, etc. for Swellow? Mine has a hasty nature....

I'm no expert on Swellow, but I'll help where I can.

Hasty nature's pretty good, I normally go for a nature lowering Def. or Sp.Def on things like Swellow. This is when I can't be bothered to find the absolute best nature around.

Go for Aerial Ace, and handily, I think it learns it by level. If it is the XD Swellow, maybe you could use a Baton Pass moveset. You could also have Return, maybe. And then, since I can't help you beyond there, you could put in some random moves like Steel Wing or something.

If anyone flames me for this, remember that I'm no good with Swellows, and this is all I can think of.

Adamant/Jolly is best IMO. It's not going to use Special Attacks anyways.

Hasty nature raises speed, doesn't it? My Swellow is for Speed, not just power.

Yes, that's true. Now all you need is a moveset, which no-one has suggested so far...I don't have one, of course.

How about this:

-Ariel Ace

-Endevor

-N/A

-N/A

Those attacks are anyones guess.

I wouldn't go for Endeavor, although I like the move. As soon as you get to low HP, the opponent will use the turn to KO Swellow.

Thats the point of having high Speed. I have the team effort thing. Swellow Knocks out the first pokemon, then Endevors the next.

Swellow@Choice Band
Adamant Nature
-Aerial Ace
-Quick Attack
-Return
-Steel Wing

Standard Flying CB set. Swellow's speed is high enough already, and you're not going to outspeed things with a +Spd nature you won't with this one. And you'd likely want to switch out on most Pokemon faster than you, anyways (This is ingame. Competitively, you'd want Jolly.)

Alternate set:
Swellow@Liechi Berry
Adamant/Jolly Nature
-Endeavor
-Substitute
-Baton Pass
-Return/Aerial Ace

If Swellow's already Comcast-Fast, why would I need quick attack.

To beat EndRevs. That is, Pokemon that hold salac in the frontier become faster than you after the salac activates. And you won't have enough speed to outspeed them no matter what.

Isn't quick attack also somewhat weak?

WhiteWizard42
7th September 2006, 9:53 PM
it doesn't matter, because EndRevvers have only 1 HP after using endure and activating their salac berry.

Swellow (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Guts
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Return
- Steel Wing
- Hyper Beam

yeah

^Isn't that CB Pidgeot's set as well?

Anyways, I should probably say that Hyper Beam is an explosion-type move, and this is not telling you to put it on anything you want.

hyper beam?

what good des that do?

Blaziken05 ftw IMO.

It's an option...it's sorta like explosion. I prefer QA though.

Hyper Beam is only for Pokemon with shite movepools that can't use anything else. Swellow could use Facade or something, but it's too good for Hyper Beam.

Use Quick Attack in that last slot. You might as well have it just in case.

Imo

Rest / Sleep Talk / Aerial Ace / Double-edge

Shadow Tyranitar

it works, but there are always better movesets.IMO:

Swellow@leftovers
adamant nature

aa
double-team
sub
attract

.......it does suck with just 1 offensive move, but you get very hard to hit after a while.

Id say this:

Adamant/Jolly nature

-Aerial Ace/Wing attack
-Steel wing
-Quick Attack
-Pick a move you like; endeavor is an option

Hyper Beam, because Quick Attack has almost no use in-game.

Hyper Beam is your finishing move.
You use it as a last resort when your opponent only has one Pokemon left.
Like a pseudo-Explosion, like someone said earlier.

And Horn Drill, If you haven't noticed, Swellow is "Pokemon with shite movepools that can't use anything else."
._.
