Stadium 1 in Japan was practically the exact same game as the game we all know as Stadium (2 for Japan), the only diffrence was it had about half of the pokemon available for use in it.

Actually, it was more like a little over a quarter of the Pokémon that were usable in the first Japanese Stadium game. Forty, to be exact. =P

I had a feeling it was about 50, but the number didn't seem right. I guess I went higher instead of lower.

Yep. Stadium one In japan was pretty much a failure, despite the graphics, since people had to play as certain pokemon rather than their favorites (unless those pokemon were their favorites)

I think the idea was that the original Stadium was to be upgraded with the rest of th Pokemon via an unreleased 64DD expansion, which never happened so Stadium 2 was released.

I heard the Stadium 1 in Japan didn't have everything as Stadium 2. I heard it only had Stadium, while #2 added the Gym Leader Castle, etc.

Sorry if this is off-topic, but what were the usable Pokemon?
And, I'm pretty sure the 3rd Stadium's original name was Pokemon Stadium GS.

Next time do some research. Pocket Monster Stadium 1 had about only 40 Pokémon, two types of tournaments (Poké Cup and Prime Cup if I'm right), different mini-games, and no Gym Leader Castle. One of the tournaments uses the arena that is used for Free Battle in the american Stadium 1, and the other uses a arena exclusive from that game. I'm not sure about if it had the Oak's Lab but I think it had the possibility to emulate GB games like other Stadiums.

Where did you get that from? Because from what I've heard, it was a sucess because it was the first game to allow 3D Pokémon battles, and because they chose the most popular pokes out of the 151.

Yep, that's right.

I actually played an import of that first game before the others came out, and boy was it boring compared to the other two. Oh well, at least it had Hypno for me to choose.
