Yep. Here's my team. BTW I have Emerald.

Metagross@Choice Band
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
Trait: Clear Body
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Explosion

My main destroyer. Pretty happy with him as I usually don't have to switch him out, and he is hardly ever KO'ed, leaving my other Pokemon well- rested in their Pokeballs, as they don't get used much.

Gardevoir@Lum Berry
Nature: Timid (+Spd. -Atk)
Trait: Synchronize
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
- Will-O-Wisp

Special sweeper.

Dusclops@Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Nature: Careful (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Shadow Ball
- Seismic Toss
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Wall.

Yep. I'm pretty happy with my team the way it is, but if you have any comments/fix-ups for it, then please reply.
By the way, I still have all tutors eg. Substitute.
Also I am only using 3 as they are for the Battle Frontier.

Replace? That is an awesome moveset... I use that same exact moveset ... Just SD then Attack... Watch out for Aerial Ace ect.

The Mighty Wurmple

That's why I have Rock Slide for all the flying types. Also Metagross totally owns most flying types, so that is covered.

Do you have any other versions...

Dusclops
Pain Split
Shadow Ball
Will-O-Wisp
Seismic Toss/Destiny Bond/Toxic/????(Whatever)

You already have a great team so this is my best choice...
There aren't many GREAT mixed sweepers that can tank...

The Mighty Wurmple

No, I meant a Mixed Sweeper OR a Wall. Sorry about that.
I have Leaf Green, although I can't trade to it yet, as I haven't beaten the game yet. I am only up to the 3rd Gym. I can consider Dusclops, although should it be Bold or Impish or Careful or what?

Give EV's in Sp Def. and Def.

Serebii.net suggests a bold nature...

You could go with either Regice or Snorlax for your team, since a special wall can help it out a lot.

Regice@lefties
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- T-Bolt
- Rest
- T-Wave / Sleep Talk

Since you do need some form of status absorption. For Snorlax, you could go with the standard Curselax,

Snorlax@lefties
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Return
- Shadow Ball / Earthquake
- Rest

Or the ReSTalking version.

Snorlax@lefties
Careful Nature
- Double Edge
- Shadow Ball / Earthquake
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Dusclops could be a decent option, only you'd be opening yourself up to ghost attacks.

Dusclops@lefties
Impish / Careful Nature
- Will-o-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Seismic Toss
- Pain Split / Rest

The nature depends on what you want to wall: physical sweepers, or special sweepers? You already have Metagross to take care of physical sweepers, so go with Careful nature and focus on Spec. Def. Will-o-Wisp and a couple of Def EVs should take care of physical sweepers quite nicely. By all means, max out its hp.

Um... to get Dusclops to know Pain Split you have to breed with Midreavus which is found on Island 5... It is the only Pokemon to learn Pain Split by Level Up so you may want to finish LeafGreen first before you try Dusclops.

That's why I suggested Rest as the other option. Geez people, read everything first.

POKEMON KING LEAFGREEN

Which one helps more... Rest or Pain Split?

Frost Nova
8th December 2006, 8:27 AM
It really depends on what you need. Pain Split works great with Dusclop's low hp, and it gets even better if you face off against a pokemon with high health like Blissey or Snorlax. The only thing is, Pain Split can't remove status effects like Rest does, so if your team needs something that can absorb status, Rest > Pain Split.

I have been working on Leaf Green all morning, and I am only up to Celadon City, so I won't be able to trade for a fairly long time.
By the way, I don't EV train, so please don't suggest EV's. I will train for Dusclops a bit though. If I give Dusclops Rest, what should I use as his item? Chesto/Lum berry?

endure reversal hera works well

The Mighty Wurmple
9th December 2006, 12:48 AM
Not really. Choice Band or Swords Dance Heracross works better.

edit: I was thinking of making a moveset for Flareon on my Leaf Green, I know it doesn't go in this section, but it saves me making a new thread. The rest of my planned team is:

Blastoise
Nidoking (Will swap for Raikou if I eventually get it)
Snorlax
Gengar
Alakazam

The moveset I am thinking of is:

Flareon@Choice Band (?)
Adamant nature
Trait: Flash Fire
- Fire Blast
- Iron Tail
- Shadow Ball
- Quick Attack (?)

Not really sure yet.
