Kodansha

Bwuh? They're a Japanese manga publishing company, and they themselves do not distribute manga in the U.S. as far as I know.

To add onto the list a few niche companies that no one will post about:

Drawn and Quarterly
Abandon the Old in Tokyo
The Push Man and Other Stories

Last Gasp
Barefoot Gen
Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms

Ponent Mon/Fanfare
Awabi
Blue
Disappearance Diary
Doing Time
Monokuro Kinderbook
A Patch of Dreams
The Times of Botchan
The Walking Man

Vertical
Apollo's Song
Buddha
Ode to Kirihito
To Terra

To add on some titles that I have that's not on this list:

Dark Horse Manga
Ohikkoshi

Tokyopop
Dead End
Dolis
Dragon Head
Smuggler

I'll deal with Viz in another post. They have some older short manga anthologies that will be tough to divvy up, like A, A' [A, A Prime], Secret Comics Japan, Hotel Harbour View, etc. that are either self-contained one-shot volume-length stories or else composed of multiple one-shots.
