Do you have Flareon and lapras and what are there move set. But if you dont have any psychic pokemon on your team i would go with starmie with this move set

Surf
Thuder bolt
Ice Beam
Psychic

I think you can teach all those moves to lapras except psychic.

Starmie over Lapras moveset
Surf
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Psychic/Recover

Flareon and Moltres have very limited movests so it depends if you want a physical or special sweeper.

for the fire types, use moltres mainly for the better stats, and use sniper's starmie set

what about natures and hold items?
Flareon@Choice Band
Adamant
overheat
-Return
-Shadow Ball
-Quick Attack/Iron Tail

Lapras@Leftovers
Modest
Surf
thunderbolt
icebeam
-Sing/Confuse Ray

sofar my flareon sucks, and i haven't gotten my lapras yet. Do you need to see the rest of my team too? Please help me w/ this before I have to get my lapras...

I would use starmie over lapras but if you want to use lapras so much i would use confuse ray because sing misses alot more than confuse ray.

NO!!! use starmie, it is fast and has good special attack

Starmie is definitely better than Lapras, but if you feel the need, use Confuse Ray over Sing. I'd use Flareon because Shadow Ball can be a big help against Psychics and Ghosts.

well in firered would there be a water better than lapras because i can't trade/don't have LG

Golduck could be a good choice. Don't mention Starmie if you can't get it.

What's your starter? It would be nice if you posted the rest of your team.
Also, Golduck isn't a very good Pokemon in general. 95 Special attack is pretty good, but it could be better with other Pokemon.
There's also Vaporeon, Poliwrath (It's not that good though), Omastar..

BigCharizard

I know Golduck isn't that good, but the Eevee has already been used for Flareon, and FireRed is weak in Water Pokemon, so in context it's a viable choice.

What fossil did you get savecowseatcarrot?
Dome or Helix?

Lapras@Leftovers --- (not sure still, hence im asking)
Modest

savecowseatcarrots
12th December 2006, 2:26 AM
Oops, 3rd Dragonite, 5th Hitmonlee

BigCharizard
12th December 2006, 2:55 AM
On Hitmonlee, use Bulk Up over Hi Jump Kick.

i think i need a fighting move... to beat ice-water types, right? What about omastar... and how about a moveset for moltres?

aragornbird
12th December 2006, 3:04 AM
Moltres
Modest Nature
-Flamethrower
-Sunny Day
-Substitute
-Agility/Toxic

Omastar
Modest Nature
Trait: Swift Swim
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Rain Dance
-Toxic

BigCharizard
12th December 2006, 3:08 AM
You already have Reversal on Hitmonlee, but if you NEED another fighting move, there are better options out there, such as Brick Break.

savecowseatcarrots
12th December 2006, 3:11 AM
But would you say Omastar or Lapras is better for my team?

Chomper
12th December 2006, 3:12 AM
Hitmonlee @ Salac Berry
Adamant Nature
- Endure
- Reversal
- Bulk Up
- Rock Slide

It doesn't need Brick Break if its a Reversaler.

savecowseatcarrots
12th December 2006, 3:16 AM
Oh, reversal is fighting right... I've never had it so I forgot. Is it a good move. And w/ the omastar lapras issue still waiting thanks.

aragornbird
12th December 2006, 3:19 AM
But would you say Omastar or Lapras is better for my team?
Lapras. Omastar is too limited and has to use Rain Dance to be any good. It doesn't even resist Water attacks like a good Water type should.

savecowseatcarrots
12th December 2006, 3:26 AM
So FR w/o trading or another Eevee im limited... and Cloyster and dewgong or anyother one's I can get at this point wouldn't be as good right?

BigCharizard
12th December 2006, 6:09 AM
If you use Lapras, which you probably should, make sure its ability is Water Absorb.
