In it's simplest form...beat 252 Poochyena and 252 Sandshrew, then 4 Jigglypuff. The numbers (252 etc) is an EV. You gain an EV for killing the correct Pokemon.

The EV guide on the main site is quite thorough. Check it out.

No, just the once.

No, just you have to beat that many pokemon, or half of each if you have a macho brace. so that makes it 151 poochyena, 151 sandshrew and 2 jigglypuff.
Of course, pokerus halves this again.

ok first things first.

your training a golem, big mistake, you've probably already defeated pokemon with it so its already gained EV's, so your better off with a new geodude{untrained of course}.

now with a macho brace, you'd only have to beat

126 poochyena, 126 sandshrew and 2 jigglypuff

if you want to make it even easier, do this

give geodude, 10 proteins and 10 irons

now you only have to beat

76 poochyenas, 76 sandshrew and 2 jigglypuff{do this last}

Wouldn't he have to beat 76 sandshrew and 76 poochyena? The protiens and iron only g9ve 10 EVs each.

^no as soon as you've done what i stated thats it, then just level it up to level 100 and evolve it and you've got a great golem for battling

OK, I'll try and explain EV's... bare with me. ^^;

Every time you defeat a Pokemon you get EV's (effort values), which are very beneficial to your Pokemon's stats (so are natures and IV's... but I won't get into that now).

A Pokemon can have 510 EV's in total. And one stat can have 252 EV's (meaning you can only max out two of a Pokemon's stats).

Every 4 EV's you gain is +1 stat at LV100 for whatever stat it got the EV's in; so if your Pokemon gained 4 HP EV's, its HP stat would be 1 point higher at LV100.

All EV-spreads must be divisable by 4. So if you see people with EV-spreads of 255/255 - they're idiots, and they're wasting EV's that could have gone elsewhere.

So for your EV-spread:

6 HP = +1 HP stat at LV100
252 ATK = +63 ATK stat at LV100
252 DEF = +63 DEF stat at LV100

Here are some lists of what EV's Pokemon give, and the amount you get:
