I've decided I'm going to start over. I want opinions on this future party that I KNOW I will be sure to train and TM-use/breed. Please put in items and natures if you have the time. Thanks in advance.

Starmie wants Modest with a Shell Bell.

Houndoom: Substitute can be used over the last option so you can activate a Petaya/Salac berry. Modest nature.

Trick Alakazam is only useful with a Choice Band, and it's generally better to go with the standard anyway, which has Recover/Another punch.
Modest with Lum Berry.

Skarmory looks good, Impish with Leftovers.

Use Vileplume.
Modest/Bold nature with Leftovers.

Rock Slide over Psychic on Metagross.
Adamant with Choice Band.

Can I go for Gentle over Modest on Abra?

This pokemon is hard to catch!

And can I go with Aerial Ace over Drill Peck on Skarm?

No. Abra wants modest. And aerial ace is always above drill peck.

Trick on Alakazam is pretty much pointless in-game, and the spikes/roar combo on skarmory doesn't have much use either. The AI rarely switches, and there aren't many stat-uppers you need to be worried about in-game.

Though you might want Lum Berry over Choice Band on Metagross if you know you are going to be against Burners, or its handy for other status problems.

The Mighty Wurmple
18th April 2007, 7:25 AM
If you have a Choice Band, the opponents will be gone before they can status you.

Fast pokemon that can give you a status problem will be countered with status problems, but if you know your oppenent doesn't use status problems, you could go Choice Band or Leftovers!

The Mighty Wurmple

Still better to go with Choice Band for the extra power.
Besides, Alakazam can go out on Pokemon that give you a Status Condition with it's Lum Berry and Synchronize.

I'm thinking of replacing a pokemon with this:

;356;
Curse
Mean Look
Night Shade/Confuse Ray
Shadow Ball/Rest

OR

;356;
Shadow Ball
Will-o-Wisp
Curse
Shadow Punch

Which pokemon should I replace for Dusclops?

I really want the Cursetrapper, so if I decide on that, nobody can change my opinion. ;]

Well, since I decided to go with the CurseTrapper, should I get rid of Skarmory?

Or should I get rid of 'Zam, and keep Skarmory as a physical wall?

The Mighty Wurmple

Use:

Dusclops@Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Nature: Careful/Impish
- Shadow Ball
- Seismic Toss
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split/Rest

And use it over Vileplume.

i think he has his mind set on the cursetrapper

Phray
21st April 2007, 2:02 AM
Yeah, I figured that problem out, since a Spikes/Roar + Cursetrapper combo doesn't really work well in the same team.

Phray

Okay so:

Starmie
Surf
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Psychic

Houndoom
Will-o-Wisp
Flamethrower
Crunch
Substitute

Cradily (I don't feel like breeding)
Ingrain
Mirror Coat
Earthquake
Giga Drain

Metagross
Explosion
Agility
Meteor Mash
Toxic

Dusclops
Curse
Mean Look
Shadow Ball
Seismic Toss

Vileplume
Moonlight
Sleep Powder
Sunny Day
Solar Beam

How's that?

The Mighty Wurmple
21st April 2007, 4:18 AM
Rock Slide>Giga Drain, Toxic>Mirror Coat on Cradily.

Earthquake>Toxic on Metagross.

If you really want to use that Dusclops, use it.

Phray
21st April 2007, 4:32 AM
Two EQ's?

Fine.

:]

EDIT:

Using Psychic over Toxic on Metagross to counter fighting types, and saving the EQ for Cradily.

Then using Toxic > Mirror Coat.

How's that?

The Mighty Wurmple
21st April 2007, 4:37 AM
No, use Earthquake on Metagross. He needs it more.

It's Emerald, so why not clone it?

crudent
21st April 2007, 4:43 AM
Cradily wants Barrier over "Earthquake" if you want to use Mirror Coat.

Phray
21st April 2007, 5:14 AM
Cradily:

Toxic
Earthquake
Ingrain
Giga Drain

Only because I don't want 2 ground moves, and I want the extra HP.

The Mighty Wurmple
21st April 2007, 5:18 AM
A ground move on two different Pokemon won't make you lose every battle you know -.-;

Phray
21st April 2007, 6:52 AM
Well I still have 2 EQ's. :]

The Mighty Wurmple
21st April 2007, 6:53 AM
Use 'em then.

Phray
22nd April 2007, 12:51 AM
Okay. Last one:

Starmie

Metagross
Explosion
Agility
Meteor Mash
Earthquake

Dusclops
Curse
Mean Look
Shadow Ball
Seismic Toss

Vileplume

The Mighty Wurmple
22nd April 2007, 5:04 AM

Dusclops
Will-o-Wisp
Rest
Shadow Ball
Seismic Toss

The Mighty Wurmple
23rd April 2007, 8:10 AM
Pain Split can go over Rest if you wish.
If you have low HP, and verse a Pokemon with high HP, such as, say, Blissey, then that's a time where Pain Split works wonders.
If Blissey has full HP, and you use Pain Split, your HP will go up heaps, and the Blisseys' will go down heaps.

I'll try my hand at breeding.
