View Full Version : That 1 in 8192 Chance Thing

Of course, Im reffering to the chance that the pokemon you run into is a shiny. Now I have been soft resetting for a while now to try and get a shiny Charmander and it seems like it is taking forever, so I started to wonder something.

This 1 in 8192 chance that everyone is talking about, does it reset for every pokemon you run into? I mean, if I soft reset exactly 8192 times, will only one of those resets result in a shiny Charmander? Or is it every time I pick up the pokeball I have that same exact 1 in 8192 chance?

Everytime you pick the Pokéball you have a 1 in 8192 chance.

It's a probability, not a count. If that's what you mean.

^^ Yes he means that. And yes you are right. 1 in 8...blah blah blah chance that every time you get the Pokemon it's shiny.

All on luck. Not necessarily your 8192th try. It could even be on your first.
