Changes for Trading Forum

Hey guys

As I'm sure, you're well aware...the Trading forum is a mess. Battle requests are largely gone un-noticed and theres pointless threads everywhre constantly being bumped.

To this end, we're going to be seperating the Trading & Battling forums out, however we have a plan set so that you wont b able to make the topics, only post in topics for specific Pokémon. I know it seems a bit harsh and dictatorship, but we don't have a choice...the forum is a mess

We'll be doing this over the next month...so watch this space

Thanks so much! While I don't think the chaos will ever be completely eliminated, this should help.

I'll miss having my own threads but since no one really listened to the basic rules I posted (like no hacks! x.x), I suppose I won't miss it too much.

I had written on one of my threads a little guide to common courtesy when requesting trades. Perhaps something similar to that should be sticked? Just a suggestion.

Yeah thats a genius idea, though I doubt the madness in the trading forum will be stopped. It'll definetly make it better.

Sounds good to me. If I want a battle I have no choice but to go to gamefaqs. Now that won't be a problem.

Speaking of gamefaqs, if you want a trading center busier than a market square in Cairo, go there. Even with 50 topics per page the oldest topics are no more than three minutes old.

With this new system you should be able to get Pokemon and items without having to endlessly bump your topics.

I have noticed that battle requests go largely unnoticed amid the swarms of unintelligently written topics in the trading forums. The trading forum had it coming as it's getting out of hand. Topics can't even stay on the first few pages for over a minute now. There are topics pages back that have been made the same day as I'm viewing them.
So yes, I believe this is a good idea. I have just a simple question, but what will happen to those of us who just want to offer Pokemon? Will there be threads for that purpose too?

Great Idea. That way the first page won't be flooded with "Trade me shinies!" and that sort of thing. I second the idea about one for items. There have been times that I have wanted an evolution item or something, but there is a 5% chance of anyone seeing a thread past all the others. And I've never tried a arranged battle because it is too hard to find them. This should help alot.

Anything can be an improvement as it's so easy for topics to go on page 2 and beyond within minutes and go ignored. I hate to say it but I hardly ever bother there for trades anymore as I go elsewhere nowadays.

Although it is sincerely needed, and a good idea, I believe for battles, the main site's chatroom is best for that. Because, to be honest, battles are usually only wanted at one specific time, and once someone has answered the forum thread, there is no need for it afterwards.

So let me get this straight. For example, there will be a thread for Deoxys. And people with a legit Deoxys can offer it up? If it is like that, won't the thread be over run by people offering, people requesting, and tons of n00bs? It seems like it'll be impossible to tell who is offering who and what.

This is actually a good idea. Every single time I click on the Trade forum, the last topic I was saw would be pushed back 2 pages or so....overriden with topics "trading _____ shinys!!!!"

This is a great idea. I looked back to the last thread on page 500 something a couple days ago and it was only a month old. I could understand if it was 10 pages, but 500 is a bit much. And the topics have little chance of lasting more the 5 minutes. So even though I don't post in the section since I can't trade I believe this is a good idea.

Well, I hope it doesn't end up like the Moveset thread where the majority of people are asking for Pokemon rather than giving Pokemon.

I don't know why people just can't settle with one thread and have a link in their sig. I think that the original trading thread should be brought back to life so people can post what they are offering up there and what they want and just link it onto their sig.

The separation's a logical step, I have to admit I only ever saw one battle request among the random trade requests.

*phew* It's about time the Trading Forums got cleaned up. But it may encounter a problem: over-stuffed topics. If there's only one shiny topic, it's gunna end up with pages in the 30's, which will make it virtually impossible to track down a previous offer. Then again, we have the WiFi Chatroom for that kind of stuff.

Its going to be seperated into family so all Evolution chains are together. Tauros/Miltank and Illumise/Volbeat are also together for this reason.

This is (hopefully) going to work out and help clean up the trading sub-forum. No one even has a thread about battling, just 'trading shinies!!!!1111!' or 'giving away legends!!!!'.

I find it to be annoying myself, but I don't go there often. Again, I hope this works...
