Most incredibly cute episode EVER. I absolutely adored Pachirisu and it's little ambition to fly. I swear, if Pachirisu had a flying squirrel evo, that would have been the perfect set up for its evolution. And Aipom and Buneary in Dresses were incredibly cute. And yes, Piplup and Pikachu were very admirable, having Staravia transport the youngins off the boat first. And lol at Croagunk. It was just staring at itself in a mirror the entire episode.

Croagunk made this episode. I honestly don't understand it, but that thing is amazing.

So that's Buneary confirmed as a girl then (and hopefully any further Aipom inquiries silenced). Whether this means anything for Pikachu, only time will tell.

Nice to see all the gang getting screen time. But Pikachu needs Thunder back; Thunderbolt clearly isn't enough to deal with giant rocks.

The Muku.Bus appeared!

Transporting Pachirisu and Happiny.

Croagunk stole the spotlight with his vague stare.

Well this was a typical filler episode. Entertaining, but nothing really happened.

Does the fact that Buneary loves Pikachu, Buneary being a girl, mean nothing?

So did this episode have subtitles, human voices for the pokemon, or did it pull a "Turning over a nuzleaf"?

Extremely cute episode; especially the parts when Pachirisu wanted to fly.
~I always thought Aipom was a male, but I guess I was wrong... Aipom, Buneary, and Happiny look good in those dresses, though...
~Brock could get away with flirting with the ladies w/o Crogunk keeping him in line.
~Pikachu and co. would make the perfect music band.
~Piplup makes the cutest Magician.
~And Crogunk... it thinks there's another Crogunk on the ship

No subtitles, no narration, just typical Pokemon interaction.

As I stated in the speculation thread, while this episode was completely meaningless and irrelevant to the main saga, I was entertained by it nevertheless. Lots of great humor including everything involving Croagunk and everyone's favorite birdbrained birdbrain. It's great to see Tamagawa back on board also.

Pachirisu wants to be a mukkubird when he grows up! O:

Pochama was cool as a magician he should have hit some pokemanz with that cane though

Mukkubird saves the babies! O:

So Aipom, Pinpuku, and Mimiroru are the only girls on the team??? ?__? Probably, lol at pinpuku wearing the dress the wrong way

And of course the best that came out of this was:

Probably the funniest episode I have ever seen. Happiny copying Pachirisu with the ring at the beginning was so cute.
Croagunk doing nothing the whole episode and being dragged away from the mirror by Pikachu was the best.

I vote for the PokeBand making regular appearances, especially Saxophone Buizel.

Pachirisu needed spotlight and he got it, in an amazing way. The cutest thing was that he wanted to fly and that at the end Mukku.BIRD carried him and the freakishly strong Happiny in his back.

Croagunk is so weird, so extremely weird that I enjoyed every minute of him/her. Now his a metrosexual looking at him/her self in the mirror. He/She is so...funny.

The bad thing about it is that when you have the whole gang together you can see that Ash's pokemons lack of a personality power than the other ones have.

I can describe how much Sudowoode owned. Eyeing Buizel was awesome.

Anyway, it was a great filler episode and now we will see the gang go to Hearthrome to then go to the next gym. This is going to be a long wait...

Watching Mukku with its wings on its ears literally had me in stitches. As did the Bui-Wood-Bird can-can-ish style dancing.

*shrug* Pikachu's gender is officially undecided. With the Buneary-girl=Pikachu-boy argument is logical, it dies in the face of that simple fact.

Most supercalifragilisticexpialidocious episode of the year, says Gravy!

- Poor Pochama. Unable to compete with Pikachu's UBER Hax skills when it comes to ring toss. But despite failure, the penguin appears to be filled with an unusual amount of glee. I guess the sea (?) air does that to a water fowl.
- Happiny, like most female chavs in brightly-colored tracksuit bottoms, is happy to share warez that do not belong to her. Awww, bless~
- Pachirisu; Clearly a reference to the ickle kiddies who thought jumping out of windows and imitating either Butterfree or Pidgeotto would grant them he ability to soar though the wide blue yonder, instead of spelling their doom.
"When I evolve, I want to be a Mukubird! : D"
- I'd totally buy ' The Buoytles' latest single. Or would that be 'The Naetles'?... George Harrisoki, Buoy McCartney, John Naeton, Ringo Chuu, Stuart Muku.CLIFFE....Someone just shoot me already.
- Naetle is a better drummer than me, yet he has no fingers. I can't help feeling a little downhearted.
- The UsoMukuBuoy can-can shall go down in history as the single most greatest moment in Daimond and Pearl.
- Buneary being female is nothing more than the ignorant opinion of backwards stereotypographers who do nothing but type stereos all day long. Hmph.
- If that boat went over the falls, the protagonists would be left with one pokémon each. I'm not sure if Muku.BIRD would be salivating at the chance of being Ash's only option, or just plain salivating.
- Sudowoodizzle is a P.Oser fo' sho y'all, 'specially when Buoy-Dawg is in da hizzy crack-a-lackin' some gangsta moves, y'know whut I'm sayin' homes? Word.
-OH SNAP HIKARI'S PANTIES ARE THE ONLY REASON TO WATCH THIS EPISODE DESPITE THE FACT YOU DON'T GET TO SEE ANYTHING ANYWAY DROOL~~~~~
- This episode proves that pokémon are just as dimwitted as their trainers, no matter how awesome said pokémon may be. If you couldn't recognise the Plusle was a Mewoth, you've got issues. Which I'd imagine would be worse for pokémon - surely they have a more accute sense of smell and are able to tell one another just by scent alone? Surely Gravy should stop reading into this minor plot point?
- Pochama's outstanding skills in the art of illusion should be proof enough that he (?!) has both the skill and charisma to go solo. Hikari’s only draggin’ ya down to her level dude!

I think that's why they put Hikari's skirt shot in there, they wanted a more mature audience than kids since they know even the older ones play Pokemon as well. Or either the silly Japanese put it in for their pleasure, untill America comes in and edits the American version.

This episode was good. It seemed like a peaceful filler episode since it made me want to take a cruise. Meowth’s Boss Fantasy was alright this time around. I gotta admit, Pachirisu was really cute with the whole balloon thing. It was hilarious with Brock flirting with all the girls in the shop without Croagunk Poison Jabbing him. I kinda thought that after all the schemes TR pulled, Pikachu should at least become suspicious as to where a lady, a giant Plusle, and a Minun came from.

Whoa ash's pokemon are all stronger than dawn and brocks, pikachu beat dawn a lot of times and in the double battle with two of her strongest pokemon (buizel and the GREAT BUNEARY) pikachu and aipom OWNED. Pachirisu and piplup are weaklings and she doesnt even have buizel anymore.
However, she has precious aipom :( Pikachu has loads of personality more so than piplup however we both know turtwig is BORING he should have not caught turtwig and kept aipom then caught and riolu. Eh... but i dont care.

They won't edit it out. It's just one frame. They didn't put it in there for any reason.
Yep, they didn't. And I don't see why people made such a big deal of it. I say this episode on my computer, and trust me, any person simply walking in while that scene took place would never have noticed it was done. Unless you have the unique ability to watch something at 30 frames per second(TV standard), then I doubt you'd been able to spot it. I did, but like I said, I was watching it on my computer, and had the ability to go "frame by frame".
(Great, now this is going to seem like I'm both contradicting myself and being a hypocrite... nice job. )

Anyhow, I thought this episode had some pretty funny moments on it. I saw a few Titanic references (Pikachu at the front of the boat, Happiny and Pachirisu being escorted off the boat(woman and children first.).

Honest to god, is it so hard to distinguish Team Rocket when even little kids watching this show can clearly tell that IT IS THEM??? You'd think Pikachu would have a recollection of the amount of episodes that he's been fooled from Team Rocket that he'd at least make the effort to realize that it's them without having to be trapped. And I thought the episode "Setting the World on it's Buneary" would have convinced me on Pikachu's actual intelligence level. I guess not.

One of my favorite scenes is with Piplup, using the magic accessories to further prove how the laws/physics of anime/cartoons can be used to make magic as real as possible yet still give it the impression of a trick with a comedic allure. Bravo!

A flying Pachirisu with balloons? You've got to be kidding me. As if being an electric type wasn't enough, you give him balloons to make him fly the way Pikachu once did. Admit it, you are a pika clone!!! (That one was a thought I'd had while typing this, I just found it interesting to note the similarities between that).

Sudowoodo further proves itself at mimicking by doing so with Buizel.

Buizel with the saxophone. Now all he needs the right glasses, a decent hat and a jazz tune and this works quite well. Turtwig as a drummer? Yup, with a mop for hair, he's good to go. Pikachu on the cello? Not too sure, I think Pikachu could be more suited for the Piano.

Oh, and sure, Turtwig and Pikachu are unable to destroy a rock pillar, but as soon as Buizel uses SonicBoom it's gone! That's just a bit awkward. Even worse, was the rock chunk plummeting towards Pikachu. Knowing Pikachu is friggin' fast, I was more concerned with the boat than the mouse.

Favorite comedic part was at the mart. Brock begins flirting and pauses to await the jab he's about to receive. Then, recalling that Croagunk is nowhere to be found, he goes on a wild flirting spree. I probably would have lost myself laughing if Ash intercepted and yanked his ear a-la Misty, but then again, that's a bit over the top. I'm quite curious to know what Ash was planning on getting.
But my biggest question with this whole scene that I doubt anyone would in there right mind about this show have thought is: How the hell do they pay for any of the stuff they buy? Not once in this show did they mention anything about a budget that they had, but here there are seen afterwards with bags of goods a plenty. Unless Brock paid for it, which could easily be assumed. Dawn might have a secret stash-o-cash before leaving. Ash, well... ya, no comment.

Overall, quite an entertaining episode, one that reminded me of a "Pikachu's Vacation"-esque sort of thing. Of course, in here we get to see what the trainer's were doing while they were gone, so this adds some depth to that concept. And for once, I was actually not at all concerned with Team Rocket being there. Seeing how they were there for about 10 seconds(give or take), their screen time wasn't much, yet was plentiful for the idea of this episode. Pretty decent filler.

I had a nice laugh at Brock's flirting spree and the Team Rocket fantasy was nonsensical, yet quite funny. Giovanni would obviously not react like that.

Yay, a reference was made to the genders of Buneary and Aipom (Aipom's gender is now totally confirmed, but Buneary hasn't had her gender confirmed in the original... yet). Well, no one can argue that Buneary is female, from watching the dub at least. =P

Yes, it did look like an extaned Pikacus Vacation. I pretty much liked the ep, it had some very funny moments, you got to see that Piplup is concidered to be a joint leader instead of being a baby (which was the status of Torchic pretty much until he evolved). TR was however more or less useless, the did nothing to further the plot, I think they could have skipped them out.

The part in the store was quite funny, Ash and Dawn was fun and Brock not having anyone stopping him from flirting was hilarious.

Around 7/10 with some 7,5 moments.

Buneary wore flowers on the ears. Is that the hallmark of a guy? Methinks not. Usually it's the girls who have anything to do with flowers. I know that's gender stereotyping, but from what we've seen in the show so far... there's plenty of visual confirmation about that. I haven't seen a male Pokémon give a hoot about flowers anyway.

Honestly,I liked and hated the episode.I can't really explain anything about that feeling,so let me just post my pluses and deltas about the episode.

Pluses:

That Brock mentioned the steamboat having a nightclub.Made me hope Dawn would get herself into a predicament:)

The fact that the Pokemon showed they know how to do more than just battle.

Also the fact the Pokemon showed that animals can also wear clothing.

It showed what people in a PokeMart is like in the anime.

Team Rocket appeared. This was one of the few episodes I WANTED them to appear in.

That a person like the captain of that steamboat actually helped save the Pokemon. You wouldn't expect that, would you?

But they still all got the acclaim.

Deltas:

That Brock mentioned the steamboat having a nightclub.Just plain incorrect.

Ash and Dawn said it would be fun.Don't get your hopes up too high,Dawn!

The Pokemon seemed to know a little TOO much.

But they still couldn't tell that Team Rocket was in disguise.

The panty shot. There has been one on Drake & Josh, but it's just too inappropriate.

Yep, they didn't. And I don't see why people made such a big deal of it. I saw this episode on my computer, and trust me, any person simply walking in while that scene took place would never have noticed it was done. Unless you have the unique ability to watch something at 30 frames per second(TV standard), then I doubt you'd been able to spot it. I did, but like I said, I was watching it on my computer, and had the ability to go "frame by frame".

Repeating certain things is quite pointless to me. I've already said it so there, read the quote and you should figure it out by yourself. Sums it up.

I though that did a good job on the dub ep it showed that they put more though into it this time and oh the Pokémon knowing too much thing.... Animals know things that we don't;026;

Sorry, I didn't really like that episode too much. I found it similar to a Pikachu short - the pokémon running riot without their trainers, getting themselves into a predicament, and then joining together to try and sort things out.
I did, however, enjoy Brock's performance very much. Also, giant Mantine is always good in my books.

I thought this was an enjoyable little episode that was a break from the usual. It was more entertaining than some of the movie shorts. It was fun to watch the pokemon horse around for a while, and it had a bunch of cute moments (Pachirisu and the balloons, Happiny saving the others from falling off the ship, Pikachu winning a game and Buneary getting all lovey-dovey, Staravia freaking out at the awful music).

I loved this episode and it was great to watch. I loved the whole dancing party and music thing. Love the Pachrisu balloon brake all the plates and pikachu saves the day lol. But the boat was about to crash I'm like oh thats why they named it that title. Anyways I loved this episode I loved the Pokemon Moments

Staravia: "MY EARS!!!!"

While Pikachu, Turtwig, and Buizel played away on those instruments, Staravia was left to cover its ears in horror. The adorability in Pachirisu's balloon flight may end up speaking for itself, and in the meantime, Dawn surprised Ash with that Piplup mask before heading off to get some new seals. I had to laugh with delight as the Pokémon frolicked about the ship, and even though they almost sailed over a waterfall, they managed to get the ship back to its previous stability. Above all else, this was a Pokémonically fun episode for me to watch.

This episode was *Okay* not at all close to favorite.
Staravia was funny when it covered it's ears.
The instrument thing was okay but stupid.
And the costume dress up was cute (I guess.)
I didn't care for this episode at all.
It was another filler so no point to have it in the anime.
Also Team rocket was funny when they dressed up as Plusle & Minun.
And Pachirisu flying was bland.
Thumb up but 2/5 due to filler.

Some episodes just don't age well. This is one such example. Although a relatively hilarious first viewing, most elements just aren't very comical the second time around, with a few notable exceptions as TR's costume and dance sequence, Muku.BLEEDINGEARS, and assorted Pinpuku antics. Otherwise, in addition to the complete lack of plot ("Pikachu Short Lite" isn't that inaccurate), the episode becomes a chore to watch once the boat detatches. And while it has nothing to do with my enjoyment, I'm scratching my head at where boats are supposed to go if the port only leads to a waterfall, much less how they got there in the first place.

It is nice to get an episode like this or the maze episode every now and then that focuses squarely on the Pokemon, but they're hardly deep episodes. Even then, some of my favorite episodes are hardly deep at all (giant Claydol, anyone?), but their humor holds up over time. This just doesn't for whatever reason. In fact, the cuteness becomes quite grating in parts. In retrospect, it's funny to see people make such a huge deal out of the so-called "panty shot" and their imaginary "fan service" in this series. It's also sad to read the gender disputes two years ago and see how they still somehow continue to this day in spite of evidence being repeatedly slapped into viewers' faces.

C-

(I feel a bit bad about being so harsh on an episode that was amusing on first watch, but when you think about all the other Pokemon-centered "cute" episodes, there are many better in this series.)

This was a funny episode, especially when Pachirisu is flying around tied to a bunch of balloons.

A lack of story I think. So much potential in this episode was wasted which upset me. The most Filler-ish thing in Sinnoh, which is really sad to see. It was ok if it was a Pikachu short but in the main anime, cute Pokemon antics do not turn out so well as seen in some of the previous episodes like this one. Very bland and almost no story to flow. 2/10.

Funny episode, i loved that all the pokemon were together for a while.

Pikachu was like a leader, but it alone can't stop all the troubles.

It's a picture from the part when the old man sends out Mantine and Ash and Dawn jump onto its back. For a fraction of a second the angle makes it possible to get a full view of Dawn's panties. If you blink, you missed it; yet everybody keeps getting worked up about this supposed "fan service."
The scary thing is, who discovered this? Was someone just being a pervert and looking at episodes frame-by frame looking for something that looked somewhat pornographic? Seriously, you would need to be looking in order to spot it.

I loved watching this episode! It was nice just to see the pokemon on their own for a change. I think that the reason why I liked it so much was because it felt more like one of the pikachu short films during a movie.

This episode was just fun! I loved watching all the pokemon let loose and just have a good time. Croagunk was his usual funny self just staring in the mirror the whole time. Never knew Turtwig could play the drums so well. I also thought it was funny how Sudowoodo was trying to be cool like Buizel by copying everything he did. And I never knew Aipom was a girl until Dawn said it. Overall great episode.

celebi- I would imagine that they accidentally saw it. I think I remember seeing a picture that was a goof or editing error where Dawn had no panties on or something (But I don't think you saw anything, which is good because well Dawn is 10) because they forgot to draw it on or something. I saw it on a forum but don't remember if it was this episode

Anyways I liked this episode. All the Pokemon were out and having fun. Balloon Pachirisu was funny (And probably reference to the Balloon Pikachu right?). Although it was a filler, it was funny how Brock was like "No Croagunk!...Wait.. Yes I am free hahaha!"

Edit: Celebi- Oh wait I don't think the picture I saw was this episode. People got worked up about seeing her panties or whatever? Okay that's a bit crazy

This episode was focused too much on Pikachu and the other pokemon and not about the Mantine, who should have got the screentime. It was good to see how the pokemon they behave on their free time. It can teach us on their personality.

This episode was ok... It was cool to see the Pokemon be left on the boat by themselves for awhile to do whatever they wanted to. It was odd to see that Pachirisu wishes it could fly. It was cute seeing Buneary, Happiny and Aipom wearing dresses. It was funny how Croagunk was sitting and staring at a mirror the whole time. Piplup looked cool as a magician.

Boomerang played this episode tonight. I forgot how cute it was. Buneary and Aipom getting Happiny in her dress was *ahem* totes adorbs. And it's the episode that caused everyone, myself included, to believe Emolga was the evolution of Pachirisu (it still should be).

This was on of the funniest DP episodes In my opinion. Pikachu and the other Pokémon's interaction were enjoyable in this episode, Seeing Pachirisu with balloons reminded me of flying Pikachu. Buneary, like always, was attracted to Pikachu in this episode. Staravia's reaction to the awful music was hilarious. The scene with Ash, Dawn and Piplup mask was funny as well.
I liked how Brock got away from Croagunk's Poison Jab in this episode.

I don't really care for cutesy fillers, so I wasn't too pleased with this episode. I did like that the ferry was designed like a Wailord though and the scene with the Pokemon playing instruments and Croagunk looking at his reflection was amusing I suppose. Meowth and James dressed as Plusle and Minun was funny, and Ash and Dawn on Mantine was cool.

When the boat was about to crash in to the rock, I was thinking "why are the Pokemon attacking it when you could just steer around it?"
Then I saw how big that one piece was compared to how big the whole thing was, then it made sense.
