I was hoping that they would get rid of the whole human concept but I guess that they needed for the story. At least recruiting will be easier but will you still need WM Codes or will Wi-Fi take care of that?

Woot, no more Friend Areas! =D It is a little sad though, as I liked to accomplish getting all of them... Oh well.

I like how everybody has a face card thing now. They always look cute in those. :3

I wonder who Serebii and Coronis are in the game?

Wow, it looks like they're creating a very intresting storyline this time around, one that already looks like it'll make the first one look like some generic storyline.

The good thing about no Friend Areas is that you can probably get every Pokemon you encounter first time.

I wonder who Serebii and Coronis are?
XDDDDD

At the beginning of the game, 90% of the money you obtain from completing missions goes to the guild
Oh, that is evil. I'm guessing the guild thingy has a kinda big role in this...I wonder what it's for anyway. *is not up to date with MD2* (Just thought of asomething. What does the guild use the money for anyway? They can't just take so much of your money for no valid reason.)

a criminal list where you have to take the mission to find the criminal to get them arrested by Lieutenant Magnezone & his two Magnemite. This adds more variety.
:O
Criminals! I think they'd just be randomly generated Pokemon though.

The fourth dungeon is following another mission in the story where you have a vision. This dungeon is the Waterfall Cave
Waterfall Cave oddly reminds me of Waterfall Pond from MD1. Which leads me to wonder if the MD1 dungeons will be in MD2 too. I'd think most probably not, though.

absence of Friend Areas
No more Friend Areas!
That means no more paying, unless the guild wants you to pay. XP I still hope the recruiting stuff (luck and all that jazz) is included here too.

...I'm done for now. ^^

I had a feeling that we would have to give something to the guild if we found something at some point of the game. Guess I was right! I'm still curious what the ruin shard has to do with anything and it's awsome your character has visions.

Why is it that when I read Lt. Magnezone's name, I imagined it with a Police hat and a bushy brown mustache?

Oh, the wonders of my mind. =P

Glad we have something more than just rescuing and escorting. Now we have item recovery and crime fighting. That's always better. =)

EDIT: 90% of the money goes to the Guild? So what if I find 1000, I only get 30?

Cheap-o's

I find it odd that Serebii isn't actually copletely up to date, and doesn't have all the data that is out there. I am NOT advertising my website, but click on it. It's in my sig, and it has alot of info, and actually more. Usually Serebii is Ultra-Fast.

My recent discoveries after Apple Forest:
(some may be missing b'coz i forgot)
The Bosses:
-Groudon
-Luxray Herd
-Mesprit
-Grovyle(strange, eh?)
-Spiritomb
-Kabutops n 2 omastar
-Dusknoir
-Dialga/Palkia(1st final boss, yeah)
-Wigglytuff Guild members(seems like they're testing u before u can evolve because after that u can go to the lake where u can evolve)
-Froslass

+My team leader and the partner cant evolve even their level's already 47 >.< such a shame
+After u recruit any pokemon to be member there's no risk to lose them even if they got beaten before finishing the dungeon.
+There's 4 deep dungeons that i know. their names are "zero---" i cant read hiragana =.= The depth's supposed to be 60+ but i dont know how deep it really is. 3 of them makes u start with lvl 1.

The only bad thing is the apparent lack of friend areas, could this mean no catching them all? That was my favourite part of MD1. ;123;

Riolu is overrated because Lucario looks so cool. XD *shot*
I agree with the 'more 4th gen starters'. Damn...
But at least I got the awesome Turtwig and Piplup. I restarted only twice for that. XP
Skitty wasn't used very often in PMD 1, why make her a starter in PMD 2? She wasn't very helpful besides Cute Charm and Sing. To me at least.
And the creators are making recruiting a bit cheap now me thinks. Even recruits that faint get sent back to the guild? recruiting upper stage Pokemon?

I was thinking the same thing. Probably the next day after the credits, you come back.

I also hope Grovyle joins the team afterwards, like how Gardevoir did... That would be neat.

I also like the fact how your bag gets bigger. I hope it can go past twenty, as I always need more than that when I go on missions.

I wonder if this game is the same as the first, in that you can switch out your partner and leader as soon as you finish the main story.

It also seems like the post-story is going to be very long, considering that almost no legendary Pokemon are met during the course of the main story.

Seems like Electrike is going to be in one of the postgame dungeons, much to my dismay (Just a guess, since none of the story dungeons sound like places where you'd find one).

The story sounds really interesting. I'm playing the Japanese version right now but I'll probably stop because I don't understand anything. When it comes out in English I'll get it if I can. Maybe it'll be easier to recruit Kecleons.

If the second game follows the same logic as the first, I'd assume you'd find blue gummis in an aquatic dungeon somewhere.

Just some updates on the new moves:
PP for most moves have been boosted (Multi hit moves like bullet seed still have the same PP because they are EXTREMELY powerful)

Dark Pulse: hits in a 1 square radius around the Poke using this move, only hits enemies. (I think this is how it works for all Pulse moves.

Acupressure: boosts random stat of every party member in a room/area

Silver/Ominous Wind: hits all enemy pokes in an area, also has a fairly good chance to boost all stats

Mirror Move: Reflects ALL moves/non basic attacks toward the caster for 2 turns (INSANELY powerful against bosses as it will reflect all their attacks)

And as usual, Bullet Seed/multi hit abilities are still broken.

Yeah. That kind of sucks. Hopefully the Legendaries will have a higher recruitment percentage than Mew...Or they'll appear more often in their respective Dungeons than Mew did in Buried Relic...

Question: Can you still use Wonder Mail codes to get certain missions like in the first game? I'd like to use one when/if the game comes out in the UK so I don't have to wait Arceus knows how long to get a mission which offers the Secret Stone Plate as a reward...It'll also help if I manage to lose important Items such as HMs.

I would've figured they wouldn't be so kind as to provide a species specific item for every line of Pokemon.

Whether that's a result of Pokemon favoritism amongst the game developers, or simply a lack of game space is beyond me.

where can i see the sprites of the fourth generation?

I want to see what *points to avatar* looks like in PMD.

ArchaicSentinel
27th September 2007, 3:40 AM
Well I've ONLY managed to evolve my starter/partner AFTER Manaphy joins the party (and after I've defeated Darkrai). Apparently, there's still more emotion pics of you and your partner which is probably why the game won't let you evolve (Game devs didn't feel like making new faces for the evolved versions of pokes).

I started with a Torchic and my partner was a Turtwig... All I can say is that Mirror Move really saved my butt on boss fights/monster rooms.

Also, I can't seem to find a Pokemon location deal like in the previous one where you could talk to Wigglytuff and find out which Pokemon (the ones you defeated) can be recruited where...

They don't have friend areas in the game anymore. Now we have Chimecho for that (I think. Unless it's someone else who does it that I'm not aware of....)

wow riolu and lucario are exclusive to time version. This will probably affect what game people decide to buy as thier are many lucario fans and will be many lucario-led rescue teams. ;123;

Oh yessss! : D
I'm so happy I got Time now. ^^ But that means no Mewtwo though. D:
Augh.

Ho-oh Master
27th September 2007, 2:40 PM
Darkness=Mewtwo, Time=Celebi I just thought of that :p

I don't care for Celebi and I really like Mewtwo so I'll get Dark first, Time second. I'm not sure what the starters are but I might do somthing with Charmander/Pikachu/Pochama like I did in the first game.

PurpleMew

i'm deffently getting time, i want lucario and celebi

Puffy_Pokemon
27th September 2007, 6:07 PM
Well, looks like now that we know which pokemon are version exclusive, tons of people, including me, will get time for Lucario. Any idea what Rilou's/Lucario's recruiting rate is?

quilava plush
27th September 2007, 7:11 PM
I might have missed something, but are there distinguished genders in this game? If not, how does Burmy evolve into Wormadam or Mothim?

Also, I'll be getting Time myself; I was initially leaning towards it since I abhor Mewtwo and I like Celebi, but Riolu sweetens the deal. :D

Pokepal
27th September 2007, 10:59 PM
Yes, there are.
Glad I got Time now ^_^
Riolu!

Cosmar
27th September 2007, 11:04 PM
I was leaning towards Darkness at the beginning, but Time has Lucario and Darkness has freakin' BIDOOF on the cover...I want to get Mewtwo, though. Eh, I'll probably get Darkness first because it has Mewtwo, then get Time at a later date because of Lucario (he's not going to be my Rescue Team Leader, though, that honour will be going to Darkrai once I get him :P)

It's good to know that you CAN recruit all Legendaries. *Points at Avvie* I wonder what he looks like in PMD2...

Jonouchi
27th September 2007, 11:14 PM
I ALWAYS get the first one of the two. So Time for me. Like QP said, Riolu makes it all better. =P

Garmmon
28th September 2007, 9:33 AM
Yeah. Everyone would probably go and buy Time because of Riolu, and leave Darkness sitting on the shelves. =P
Which makes me think it was unfair to make Riolu/Lucario an exclusive, since Lucario is so well liked.

Cubed
28th September 2007, 10:04 AM
I probably will get Darkness now. I usually end up getting the lesser-bought version anyway. And I wanted to get Celebi. Oh well, there's always wonder mail (Which Lucario Fanboys/girls should know).

Team Thunderstar
28th September 2007, 12:15 PM

MidnightStorm
29th September 2007, 9:56 PM
Lots are likely to get Time, and myself included. Celebi is one of my fav legends and Mewtwo isn't a favorite at all. I don't know why Nintendo put such popular Pokemon as exclusives.

Treemander
29th September 2007, 10:02 PM
I'll buy both ^_^ most likely i like how lucario is there in Darkness their exclusives aren't that great so what ever is there i will buy if theres time-buy if not darkness

Man, why does the best uber(in my book) have to be in darkness, while better pokemon like lucario are in time. Its just not fair.=[

Does anyone know if you are able to get exclusives(please be legendaries too) via wondermail like the last game?

I will probley get time, but I really was looking forward to getting darkness but it has nothing good in it other than mewtwo. Why did lucario have to be verison exclusive when everyone loves him so much. Some times I don't understand.

Dream Breaker
30th September 2007, 5:06 AM
You can get any version exclusive besides the legendary (Mewtwo or Celebi) via Wondermail codes.

So if you don't mind missing out on Celebi, you can get Darkness and still get Lucario.

Skater Trainer
30th September 2007, 5:14 AM

I believe you can evolve after you've completed the game in a place called luminous springs or something like that.

I like the headshots of the pokemon. I'm using one for my Avatar. So am i right in thinking that more of the exploration in the dungeons is for finding treasures rather then rescuing trapped pokemon. The storyline certainly sounds very good as do the dungeons. I can't wait for it to come out in Australia

TheLegendObsesser

Teddiursa goes in and evolves into an Ursaring, but when your partner tries, the springs's voice states that evolution is impossible for the two of you, because you have gone through a space-time distortion.

i'm not sure if it's just me (probably not :p) but i think there is a limit to the amount of items you are allowed to store at kangaskhan's place now, 25 pages only and 8 items per page which makes... er... you guys do the maths, but since i havent beat the game yet, idk if it's going to be like that forever or if it's going to go unlimited after you beat the game

and about marowak's training dojo, i dont think you can bring items in with you anymore (i think if you insist, you will end up losing the items before you go in), again, idk if this will change if you beat the game

if it's not just me, it would be good if serebii can update the treasure town page with the info.

There's no gender exclusive starter in MD2. I'm very sure of it since one of my friends transformed into a male Skitty in the game.
It seems that different genders require different personalities to choose a certain starter, but that's all gender difference has to do with starters.

It works the same as it did before, though you have to go through a few more events after you finish the main story before you can evolve your normal Pokemon (As opposed to pretty much getting immediate access to it like in the first game). You also have to pretty much finish the post-game story before you can evolve your starter and partner.

I don't have PMD 2, but whenever I dealt with mobs of Pokemon, I'd stand somewhere where as few them would be in position to attack me as possible.

If you're charging into the mob, that's not a good idea. It would be better get yourself in a corner, so only two or three (Possibly more or less, depending on the shape of the battlefield) will be capable of hitting you at any given time. That takes away part of the advantage of having numbers.

Recruiting is the same as it was before, minus the friend areas. You also have the option of immediately sending any recruits back to the guild (Which removes the possibility of losing them, and also makes it so you can recruit every Pokemon in a dungeon in a single go).

To recruit Pokemon, just have your team leader (that is, you) beat the wild Pokemon, but not your partner, friend, etc. There will be a chance of the Pokemon joining, it may or may not join. Note you can't recruit in the first dungeon where you fought Zubat/Koffing at the end.

After the Drowzee chapter, do a few optional missions (where there are two mission boards, the left ones are easier). One day you'll wake up, Loudred will tell you about the job or something. Then you just identify Pokemon footprints.

How do I know if I've recuited a pokemon? I battled a Geodude and at the end of the battle it did something and then I was back at the guild.
Also when I do get a pokemon how can I put it on my team?

Just a few things I've found that seemed interesting.

Even though your leader has to make the final blow to recruit regular Pokemon, it doesn't matter who kills legendaries, they can still join even if one of your teammates kills them.

My leader currently has 6 stars for IQ and she's got two useful new skills:
- One is an arrow that points in the direction of the stairs when you first enter the floor. It goes away after a few seconds, but it's very useful when combined with the second skill.
- The other is getting a faded map of the whole floor, and the outlines turn white when you've been there.

So basically you get a map of the floor and an arrow pointing in the direction of the stairs when your IQ gets high enough. Very useful. :)

Have you played the first Mystery Dungeon? Recruiting looks exactly the same as in the first game: if, when you knock out a wild Pokémon, it remains standing (facing your leader) instead of warping away as usual, you will see some Japanese text appear at the bottom of the screen mentioning that the Pokémon wants to join your team. Select "Yes" and the Pokémon will become a permanent member of your team. Unlike the first game, you do not need to safely escort it out of the dungeon (in fact, you can even select "Say Farewell" on its Status menu to send it safely back to the team base immediately). Also, because there are no Friend Areas, you can recruit any Pokémon you wish right off the bat; just hope you get lucky and one offers to join.

To switch team members around, visit Chimecho in the second floor atrium of the team base. She will show you a list of your team members, complete with pictures and stats; select a Pokémon and choose the topmost option. If the Pokémon is in your party, this will place it on standby, where it will wait until you want to bring it on an adventure again; if the Pokémon is not currently in your party, the top option will prompt Chimecho to call it to join up with your current team. In short, when you want to switch Pokémon, visit Chimecho, select the Pokémon in question and pick the top option to switch it into or out of your party.

By the way, if Chimecho is still in the dining room, you will need to progress in the storyline some more before you can recruit friends. After completing Chapter Four, she should be in the main atrium and ready to help you manage your party. Also, keep in mind that, for some odd reason, no Pokémon can be recruited in Calmtide Cave (the first dungeon). At the point you are at, you should be able to recruit many powerful Pokémon from Saltbrine Tunnel and Mt. Needlespire (the second and third dungeon on the list), but be careful around Mt. Needlespire's high-level wild Pokémon, as they pack a punch, especially Starly.

Incidentally, if you ever see a mission with the reward listed as "???", be sure to complete it. I'm not sure if it is true for all of these "???" missions, but when I completed one, the Pokémon I escorted, shockingly enough, offered to join my team. Try doing all of the missions with this unlisted reward, and you may be able to recruit some Pokémon this way.
---
By the way, I have a question of my own. I have heard that it is now easier to recruit evolved Pokémon, but does your leader still need to be at a certain experience level first or hold an item that makes recruiting easier? I'm wondering if my Lv. 14 Piplup can presently recruit the Nidorina and Nidorino at Mt. Needlespire. I haven't recruited any yet, but then again I also haven't recruited several of the unevolved Pokémon there, so it could just be poor luck. (...And right after I typed this, I recruited a Machop. Go figure.) Has anyone recruited evolved Pokémon like Nidorina and Nidorino early in the game?

EDIT: I just discovered something really amazing that I haven't heard anyone else mention. You can now bring a team of four into dungeons! I just tried it out, and I was able to bring Piplup, Turtwig, Shellos, and Machop into Mt. Needlespire at the same time. This should be really handy for leveling up.

I've got a few questions about recrutment.
I noticed that around level 30, 2nd stage Pokemon began to join my team. (Befor only 1st stages would) And when I look at the recrutment search, it says 3rd stages are possible.

So, can I recrut 3rd stages at lv. 30? Or is there a level requirement for them?
Also, level bonuses, same as the last game?

One last request. Could anyone supply me with a WM for Rotom? Or point meto a thead that has one? I have Time version and Rotom isn't in it, and him being one of my top favorites, I'd like to be able to get one, given version exclusives can still be obtained this way.

Actually, you can get evolved Pokémon even earlier, level-wise; I obtained a Kakuna when my team leader was only about Lv. 16 and a Beautifly at around Lv. 18. (My levels might be a bit off, but you get the idea. XD) Evolved Pokémon seem to have about the same recruitment rate as unevolved ones (perhaps a bit lower, but not enough to make too much of a difference), as I have obtained numerous final evolutions with little trouble. I am inclined to believe that leveling up does increase the recruitment rate like in the last game, as it seems more Pokémon have been joining my party lately, but it seems the bonuses begin to apply earlier than in the first game, although I have no concrete knowledge of these bonuses. Essentially, though, you should definitely be able to recruit pretty much anything at your level; if a Pokémon seems impossible to recruit, it's probably just bad luck, as evolved Pokémon seem to be as easy to recruit as unevolved ones.

(...And, yes, I have just answered my own question from a few posts back. XD)

Incidentally, has anyone else discovered the trick to unlocking secret dungeons? If you ever see a mission with the destination described as "???" instead of a dungeon name, be sure to accept it; it will unlock a top-secret dungeon! Be prepared, as every one of these secret missions I've seen has involved escorting a Pokémon to the last floor (which contains treasure chests that reappear each time you come back to the dungeon), and there are traps and Monster Houses to hinder your progress. The secret dungeons are a really neat feature, though: not only do they contain rare Pokémon that may be found nowhere else, but most of the dungeons randomly cycle between four background songs (which are different for each dungeon) every time you reach a new floor. Some of the songs I've yet to hear anywhere else, and one is an incredibly neat medley of four songs from the original Mystery Dungeon. Definitely check the left mission board regularly for the missions with unknown destinations, as they are definitely worth investigating!

Ah, many thanks for the answers. And the Rotom WM. It may be a bit much, but any other version exclusive WMs (Burmy, Buneary, Lopunny) would be nice.

As for discoveries, I've found myself unable to enter any other event dungeons, other then Gabites. Even though I am well past Chapter 10 (I've beaten Dark Dialga and have the ability to evolve, though I have yet to beat Froslass) unless there is other criteria to enter them.

Not sure if that has been spoken of in this topic yet. As I haven't read through the whole thing.

I'm still not terribly far in the game since I enjoy playing very slowly (I just saw the credits and am about to embark on a massive level-up spree for Pachirisu and Riolu), but I have an idea on why the other secret Wonder Mail missions might not be working. I've noticed that the in-game missions unlocking secret dungeons (the ones that appear on the mission board) would only appear after I had explored the nearby region through the plot (a key indicator being the removal of clouds from the map). Perhaps you need to do the same before the Wonder Mail missions will work. I know that the location of Labyrinth Cave, the destination for the first Wonder Mail mission (the one that works), is near previously explored dungeons such as Mt. Hornpeak and Apple Grove, so maybe the other dungeons will become accessible when you've explored areas near them; try checking the world map on the main website and see if there are any nearby dungeons you've yet to explore.

I would help more, but you're farther than I am, so the Wonder Mail missions probably wouldn't work for me right now, either. (I am, however, in Labyrinth Cave as I type this, so I know that that one definitely works at least immediately after visiting Mystic Woods, if not earlier.)

Also, while I can't supply any helpful Wonder Mails for Darkness-exclusive Pokémon since I also have Time Version, I do have some interesting discoveries involving IQ Skills!
---
It seems that different Pokémon acquire different IQ Skills and at different rates; in any case, my Turtwig has more IQ Skills than my Piplup even though Piplup has a higher IQ, and each one has some skills that the other one doesn't, although several common skills are shared between them. Here are some new and different skills I've observed on Piplup that didn't exist in the first game. I'll edit in names later if I can make a somewhat decent translation of them.
1. I acquired this handy skill very early. When Piplup attacks, there is a decent chance (around 20%) that an exclamation point will pop up over her head the instant before she uses a move. Whenever this happens, she will execute the move without consuming any PP! It activates pretty frequently and greatly elongates the time she can battle before needing a Max Elixir. Incidentally, Grovyle has this IQ Skill by default, as I've seen it activate for him a lot even though I never gave him any Gummis. (He must have secretly stocked up on Gummis before I met him or something. XD)
2. I just recently noticed this skill when Piplup got low on HP during a surprisingly difficult boss battle (that I didn't expect at all). It appears that when she is low on HP, any direct attacks will be passed off onto a nearby Pokémon (which, at the time, happened to be poor Turtwig >_<) just as if she were wearing a Pass Scarf. I'm not sure if it has a percent chance of activating or if it always works, as it only had time to trigger once before I could heal Piplup with an Oran Berry, but it really helped in a tight spot. (Oh, and Turtwig had high HP, so he was fine.)

I've found out something along the lines of egg hatching.

It seems that the eggs given to you from a reward seems to hatch something completely random. Through the few eggs I've recieved, they've hatched things that weren't a specie of the client, and sometimes even my team. So, eggs must be random, instead of speculated (or at least I read as speculated somewhere) baby form of the client.

The egg would hatch into the basic form of a Pokemon found in that dungeon.

I've never been that observant about IQ and stuff, but I did notice the one where Piplup didn't need to use PP. Some of the IQ skills in this game are neat. =) I wish I could understand the game more. :<

Playing further beyond the credits, I've discovered a lot more about IQ Skills. One of the first things that I noticed is that you no longer need to choose between IQ Skills; at the moment, all of my Pokémon have every one of their IQ Skills set simultaneously without any problem. Also, it appears that, in any dungeon able to be unlocked only after the credits, wild Pokémon have IQ Skills - a lot, I might add - although, strangely enough, they forget all but the most basic ones when recruited. The Pokémon in secret dungeons (including Wonder Mail dungeons) have IQ Skills only if the dungeon cannot possibly be unlocked before the credits; for instance, Final Lake's Pokémon have IQ Skills, but the Pokémon of Oran Grove and Labyrinth Cave do not. Some of these skills are familiar, like the one that randomly conserves PP, but I've seen other skills that none of my Pokémon have acquired. Here are some specifics.

1. The IQ Skill that randomly allows the user to attack without using up any PP is actually really common. I've seen it activate on a tremendous range of wild Pokémon, and I strongly suspect that most, if not all, Pokémon can eventually learn it. (Remember that two different species may learn the same IQ Skill at radically different IQ counts, so some Pokémon may need a higher IQ count than others to get the same skill.)
2. I found out more about the "Emergency Damage Pass" IQ Skill that I witnessed before after I saw it activate six times in a row on a wild Vaporeon at the secret dungeon Final Lake. o_O I believe this skill activates 100% of the time under the proper conditions and is not luck-based at all. Basically, if a Pokémon is hit by an attack that would do enough damage to KO it, the damage will instead be passed off onto a random adjacent ally (never an enemy, unlike the Pass Scarf) instead. In the particular Vaporeon scenario, I encountered a Vaporeon in a small room and, for some bizarre reason, six other wild Pokémon entered the room from another hallway almost one-by-one. (It felt like some kind of weird Monster House that was polite enough to let you cope with the Pokémon one at a time.) Piplup's Peck weakened Vaporeon, but every time I tried to faint it with Tackle, the attack would be passed off onto a nearby wild Pokémon, usually KOing it in one hit. Some friend that Vaporeon turned out to be. The skill stopped activating as soon as there were no more other wild Pokémon to take the damage for Vaporeon. I don't believe this skill will activate if the user is incapacitated by sleep or some other means, though.
3. I discovered this uncommon skill rather painfully when Turtwig KOed a Wartortle with Razor Leaf up close and was nearly fainted by recoil damage. Yes, recoil damage from Razor Leaf, of all things! I still don't know too much about the specifics of this ability and whether it is luck-based, but it appears that when a Pokémon executes a direct attack to the Pokémon with this skill (by direct I mean that the move was executed directly next to the target), whether the attack faints the target or not, the attacker receives a hefty portion of the damage back as recoil. The most annoying aspect of this is that the recoil activates even if the attack KOs the target, and the recoil is heavy and proportional to how much damage you inflicted, although the skill doesn't seem to activate against ranged attacks. The recoil from Turtwig's super-effective Razor Leaf was about a whopping 120 damage, instantly bringing him from full health to desperately critical. o_O
4. This is a peculiar skill. When the Pokémon possessing this skill attacks an opponent directly (right next to the foe), there is around a 40% chance that, after executing the attack, it will jump backward one space while making a strange sound akin to that of an enraged squeaky toy. Effectively, this allows the Pokémon to launch hit-and-run attacks, striking an opponent and immediately jumping out of range of the foe's counter-attack (unless the foe has a ranged move). I've seen it on a handful of wild Pokémon. The sound still makes me laugh, though. XD
5. Finally, here's one that one of my Pokémon has. It's easily explainable. Turtwig gained an IQ Skill that permanently raises his maximum HP by 10. The skill has a star next to it instead of a check mark, which means it cannot be removed. I'll bet that my Pokémon will eventually acquire other IQ Skills with more powerful permanent stat boosts.

On the subject of eggs, you are right in that they can hatch into a Pokémon different than the one offering the egg. You are also probably right about the baby Pokémon being in the same family as a wild Pokémon species found in the dungeon in which the mission occurred. I have noticed something very interesting, however: not only do hatched Pokémon come with rare moves, but they also have phenomenally good stats. I got a Spinarak egg, and the newly hatched Lv. 1 Spinarak has higher Special Defense than a Lv. 10 one acquired at Mt. Needlespire. Its other stats are nearly as high as the higher-leveled Spinarak, too. Maybe egg hatching could allow Pokémon with stupidly and unreasonably low stats (like poor Zigzagoon and Stantler, who inexplicably have lower stats at level 15 than Piplup and Turtwig had at Lv. 5 >_<) to be powerful in battle without requiring a lot of stat-boosters!

On the subject of Riolu, you can acquire one before the credits as a wild Pokémon in a particular dungeon, so don't be disheartened. I have a Riolu as a team member, and I can attest to the fact that it does not join too late, it comes at a high level, and its stats are terrific. Strangely, its Reversal does massive damage even when Riolu is at full health. o_O When you reach Riolu's dungeon, though, be absolutely sure to acquire Riolu on your first trip, as the dungeon will temporarily be sealed off after your first visit!

Here's some information that ought to help some people: permanent stat boosters (such as Protein, Zinc, and Sitrus Berry) are very easy to obtain at Northern Zero Island. Since the only actual restriction there is that you cannot gain experience (which makes virtually no difference, as you retain your existing levels when you enter), you can travel through the early floors, using X-Ray Specs (buy them from the Kecleon Shop in Treasure Town) to seek out the abundant stat boosters, and then warp out with an Escape Orb when circumstances become difficult. Stat boosters are common to the point where you can consistently encounter them, and you can use them to phenomenally boost your Pokémon's stats to make future outings easier. Neat, huh? (Don't forget to bring the Escape Orb, by the way.)

Regarding the Enigma Part and Secret Slab, I also own them both but have yet to encounter any legendaries. I suspect that it is necessary to reach a certain plot point first before those legendaries will appear (I've yet to complete all of the story missions since I play games very slowly XD). When I get farther in the post-credits plot, I'll search some more and let you know what I find.

Incidentally, I discovered something weird recently. While exploring Mysterious Jungle, I encountered a Lopunny even though I'm playing Time Version (and, yes, I am positive about this). Since Lopunny is a Darkness exclusive, I can't figure out how this happened, since the only Wonder Mails I have ever received are the ones which unlock secret dungeons. Could meeting the Lopunny who is the leader of Team Charms have triggered Lopunny to appear in the wild? Strange. o_O

By the way, I noticed something that might prove to be a big problem for the localization team. One of the exploration teams often found in Treasure Town - consisting of Weavile, Arbok, and Drapion - is known as Team MAD (with "MAD" in English letters, not Katakana). I wondered about this until I realized that the name forms an anagram just like with the ACT in the first Mystery Dungeon: "M" stands for Manyula (the Japanese name of Weavile), "A" stands for Arbok (whose name conveniently did not change in translation), and "D" stands for Drapion (who also has the same Japanese name as its English name). The letters for Arbok and Drapion should be fine in the English version, but a problem arises with Weavile, whose name change from Manyula completely ruins the first letter of the anagram. I wonder what the new team name will become. ("Team WAD" would sound extremely funny, if completely devoid of the meaning of the original name. XD)

EDIT: Whoops. I accidentally said that the ACT were from Mystery Dungeon 2. How did I manage that? :/

I believe I've encountered an odd, though in a way, helpful glitch. (For Zapdos fans at least)

I was looking through my team rooster to see what I could bring along with me. I had my usual team of Turtwig, Mudkip, and Rotom, and as I was flipping through pages, I noticed that Zapdos's name wasn't in red, like all other size 4's are. I checked it's size and sure enough, it was only 1. Not having Articuno or Moltres, I wasn't sure if they were 1's now or not. But, as I looked further, I noticed that Castform was redded out. For some reason, Castform was a size 4. This was obviously wrong.

Now, whether or not this can be manipulated, I'm unsure. But I cannot seem to undo or change it back to normal.

For some bizarre reason, Castform really is a Size 4 Pokémon. I, too, noticed it just a few days ago. I have no idea what the logic behind that is (unless they thought that, for some odd reason, Castform would be overpowered if it could be instantly energized by Groudon or Kyogre's weather abilities and made it Size 4 so you couldn't bring those Pokémon at the same time). When I'm far enough to get the legendary birds, I'll check to see if all of them are indeed Size 1 or if they really did switch the size values of Castform and Zapdos. (Of course, by the time I've gotten that far, you'll probably have already recruited them. XD)

Regarding the teams on the cover art, I honestly find it very strange that Team MAD appears on the cover of Time Version at all. So far, I've yet to see any plot relevance at all to them: they just seem to be an ordinary exploration team just like the other ones in Treasure Town. Actually, I've never even seen the Houndoom and Steelix on the cover of Darkness, although I assume the Gabite is the one from Labyrinth Cave. I really don't get it. Why didn't Team Poison Rose appear on the cover instead? They're pretty major antagonists, after all. :/

Incidentally, has anyone found a dungeon where the background songs of Black Forest and Wooded Plateau play? I've found other locations for the songs of the other four Future World dungeons (since you can't exactly return to them), but I've yet to find anywhere where those two songs play. Are they found deep within Zero Island, or have I just not yet reached the proper dungeons yet? (It's really bothering me, because I've completely forgotten the theme for Wooded Plateau, but, if I recall correctly, it was really good.)

But, as I looked further, I noticed that Castform was redded out. For some reason, Castform was a size 4. This was obviously wrong.

Someone on BMG said that it's a size 4 because of the amount of forms it can change into, the same way Cherrim is a size 2. Though size doesn't really matter much in this game. >_>

I don't know if anyone cares, but I'm compiling a list of dungeon background songs and where they can be heard. Note that I am not yet done filling in the list; a little bit later, I will edit in the remaining information. (I just wanted to submit this much now so a computer problem couldn't wipe out all of my hard work. XD) The song names are unofficial; I use them to describe the general feel of the song so you can (hopefully) recognize it at a glance.

To use this list, first find the dungeon that only plays the song you want to hear. Then, knowing the unofficial name of the song, you can scan through the list for other dungeons that play that song. If songs are separated by commas, it means that one of those songs will be randomly selected to play whenever you go to a new floor. Parentheses around an entry means that the dungeon cannot be revisited, while an ellipsis before the dungeon name indicates the dungeon as the second part of the dungeon before it.

How did you find out all this??

Hello. Well, I just want to say that the game looks really interesting and I hope I would get one or both versions.

However, in my small weird opinion, it seems counter-intuitive to not have Eevee as a starter, especially after adding new evoultions for Diamond and Pearl.

It also seems strange to me that Lucario does not have a big part in the story, since Lucario was make such a big deal in the past. Again, that's just my small weird opinion.

Thank you for your time.
