Do joy seeds in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon raise a pokemon's stats as much as they would normally be raised if the pokemon gained a level from battle experience, or would there be less benefit in that area? I know rare candies in the other games don't raise stats as well as levelling up in battle, that's why I'm a bit wary of using joy seeds on my pokemon.

From my experience, they don't affect your stat gains from leveling in any way.

Besides, you can just abuse gummies for stats.

nope, they don't affect your stat gains.

Actually, technically, there's nothing wrong with using rare candies in the normal games, they just don't give you EVs...

No, the seeds just level you up. *Haven't used a Joy Seed in like forever*
That's what Gummis and stat boosting drinks are for. Stat boosting drinks can up your stats by 3.

They don't affect you stat gains. Unlike a Rare Candy, they don't have side effects (eg. no EVs).
