It took me quite a long time to fully complete it. About 2 months. To be fair, I am an avid reader and I was kept busy by speed reading Harry Potter 7. I also tend to play games slowly and find every trainer and item before getting on with the story. That way, I tend to find it easier in the long run.

My first run through probably took me about 80 hours or so of play time due to about 10 hours' worth of fumbling around in the beginning, as I hadn't played since Ruby and had no idea which Pokemon were good or bad, and 15 or so hours worth of fumbling training my Kadabra / Haunter duo right before catching Palkia. After that, it was another 10 or so hour hiatus raising a Garchomp and fine-tuning my team for the face-off with the Elite Four.

My second run through has me stopped right before Victory Road at about 60 hours right now, due to the need to EV-tuning my team before continuing on. Plus, playing with a 5-strong team all the way to Canalave tended to slow things down somewhat (I was reserving my last slot for my GameStop Deoxys when I got it), plus I took another 15-20 hours to fill out my Pokedex, including a lot of time surfing GTS, which was worth it to get my own Cranidos, plus a Machamp, Golem, Gengar, and Alakazam, as well as a Munchlax/Snorlax and Feebas/Milotic.

My Dex is at 101/141 right now, and will most likely be closer to 120/149 by the time I get to the end of Victory Road. ^_^

I like to just make the most of my game and not worry about how fast I beat it. I try to enjoy it. Thats just the way I play most games. So I have no idea how long it took me to beat it. If I had to guess...probably about 4 months. I played a little every day.

if you use only one teamy then the lv goes up faster with as result that random battles will be more easy and faster, it will get hard at the E4 though but if you have enough items than that won't be a problem as well.

I'm at 30hours so far, and I'm training my pokemon. All 8 badges, training for E4. I was trying to have most the pokemon seen by E4 so I could get my Nat. Dex right after, but only 121 seen, and I'm probably going to have to spend a while training before the E4.

About a year, but mostly because the moment I got to Hearthrome, I become addicted to the contests for months. Then moved along with one Gym Leader per month, stripping every panel of the game from sidequests to Itemfinder. It helped me in the long run.

Well I just beat the game today, and when I went back after I had beaten the E4, credits roll through, you know what I'm talking about, I checked my pokedex (I wanted to get my Nat. to use GTS) and I have 148 pokemon in it. Then I went and caught Azelf real fast, went to Celestic City and saw Palkia from the old lady and had my Nat. Dex. Then I looked at my game time and it was under 40 hours (like 38:36).

Well, I have summoned Dialga´s power cuz (my trainer card info):
My adventure started: September 6th of 2007
And first hall of fame: June 28th of 2007

Just kidding, as I live in Brazil, the date setting is different
I got the DS and the pokémon at my last year birthday and I setted the date to:
9/6/2008
that at here is June 9th
and I started the game, so it counted as September 6th
XD

After a while, I got the date right and it turned back to June, so my trainer card info is really weird

Ok, the real time was around 50 hours
:P

I beat mine having only 4:25 gameplay hours.

I simply make use of the VS Seeker and challenge high-leveled Trainers to level up faster. It would have been faster if only my Pokemon holds a Lucky Egg and was infected with Pokerus.

Leveling up takes most of the time in playing RPGs isn't it?

I think my shortest time was about one week, with twenty-one hours spent playing the game.

I know I could beat it faster, but I really do try to take my time with the game, because I usually rush things. Plus, I really enjoy wasting time by exploring everywhere, and talking to people, to see the useless things they have to say.

I finished my "Pokémon Diamond" in about 30 hours and 25 minutes because i had no time to play around like Ev training during the In-Game so i took the best possible candidates for a good overall In-Game team so just for Curiosity i wil let you know.. Though it might be obvious...

I don't exactly remember how many hours of play time I had when I completed the game but what I do remember is that I finished the game in three days...and I'm completely being honest. I got the game on June 26, 2007 and made it to the hall of fame on June 29, 2007. This was over a year ago that I've done this.

It took me 5 days after the American release of Pokemon Diamond to complete the game (and that's with school XD). I think the time was around 19 hours since I never trained my Pokemon in the wild. I tried to rush through the game because I wanted to use the new evolutions, and I wanted to catch the new legendaries. Looking back, I definitely should've taken my time, since I've been bored with my Diamond game for quite a while now.

I began in Febuary 28,defeated the Elite Four on July 6....Take away 2 months or so due to me playing Emerald and me stop playing Diamond for around 2 weeks, and me playing HM most of the summer...And I've currently been playing for 294:49 minutes in Diamond, but 68:02 in Emerald......And I remember I had around 110 hours when I beat the Elite Four......So,around 100 hours....

O_o Oh wait, what the hecK?I couldn't have spent 100 hours on Diamond...But,then again I spent quite a bit of time randomly doing things because I couldn't beat the Elite Four, then I started mainly training my Pokemon...So,I guess it makes sense I played for around 120 hours

I only have one game which I would never, under any circumstances, reset. That's Diamond, and I got my HoF debut at exactly 23:00. On the other hand, that was with me being an absolute completionist, having all 150 Sinnoh Dex regulars caught and obtaining literally everything along the way, doing all the sidequests, etc. That probably nailed a good 7-9 hours onto my time.

kai_leafeon_master

I have used to have both, but sold pearl (not before trading palkia over!). On diamond, i would have completed it in about 12 hours but it took me 47 because i checked everything, talked to everyone, and caught every pokemon i could find.

I like to just make the most of my game and not worry about how fast I beat it. I try to enjoy it. Thats just the way I play most games. So I have no idea how long it took me to beat it. If I had to guess...probably about 4 months. I played a little every day.

For me, the longer it takes to beat a game the more boring it becomes.

I beat Diamond in 5 days with 35 hrs. I had the National Dex almost immediately after the League

I took 17:34 to beat Cynthia, which I've completed in ten days. Without completing every item and trainer it would be like twelve hours I guess. To run through the game and only use the starter... it's by far the easiest and fastest method in the entire series.

With some planning and luck it should be possible to beat it in less than five hours. Some speedrunners here?

there's not much choice in the any of the games for picking starters the fire one is always the best to beat the game and stats and type wise. fire pokemon can sweep the grass and bug types in the begginning of the game and beat the game must faster where grass has 5 weakness and water is good but unless you have an EV sacrafice to block all the bad ev water pokemon can only get defence EV from geodudes and onixes. i know we don't care about EV right now just beating the game but still it'll slow down your process

and oh wow that's cheap a level 100 torterra... ok my record i played diamond once and lost the ds card T_T i got a new one and knew everything so i sweeped and skipped everything with just a inferape and gyradoes nothing else massive over leveling made all my wins and the pachirisus with pickup helped me with some items i scorched my way to dialga used 7 rarecandies on it and sweeped the elite four for the game... in the end the inferape was level 67 the gyradoes was level 76 and the dialga was level 57... the gyadoes was and still is an awesome pokemon synthia's garchomp can't do anything to it and ice fang owned garchomp the garchomp was at level 67 where its 10 levels higher and a lot stronger than most pokemon. although the gyradoes has double electric weakness a lightning rodder in doubles can save him and just switch to a ground type for singles. the old gyradoes is still good for sweeping (now if only he had stormdrain the marowak (strongest physical attack in the game with 578 attack) with lighting rod and gyradoes with stormdrain) would make an awesome team.
i beat the game in 14:01
