To this day, I still love this episode. I love any episode that shows Team Rocket in a more positive light, and this was definitely one of them. Even though Meowth ditches Jessie and James to save his own hide, the fact that they still get back together because they're friends is incredibly touching. :D I hope that Meowth will learn payday someday.

Yes, finally an episode showing Team Rocket in good light for once! Gave us a break from Ash and co. They weren't all that nice to Team Rocket when they first arrived onto the scene, all they did was say the motto and then Ash gets Squirlte to use water gun on them!

Not much to be said here, although seeing Jessie and James throw bottle caps to help out Meowth was funny, all those gullable suckers falling for those fakes lol!

Oh, this has to be one of the classics. You can tell when the script writers are clicking along in high gear (more than usual, which is exceptional). What a delightful spoof on of all things, Gilligan's Island, if you can believe it. After all, Jessie, James, and Meowth are castaways. (Drum rim shot.) That bit with the bottle caps? Priceless.

This is another favorite episode of mine. It made me cry so much though because Meowth is one of my favorite characters and to see him go threw that kind of torment it was just sad to watch. The fact that Jessie and James came their for him in the end was enough too make me actually cry though. I loved it really, and I laughed so hard when Ash and co got kicked off of the Island, that made me laugh so hard. Yah a really good one.

this episode was so fun to watch! meowth was great in this episode and the people worshiping him were funny. 10/10

A good epi. Meowth acted like a jerk at first but when it came around i found it sad. A nice touching TR epi.8/10

This was a interesting episode.

Awesome Meowth episode!! One of the best episodes ever

22nd August 2007, 5:52 PM
A good episode i'm glad they focused on TR instead of the gang, and I like that they showed TR in a positive light even if those episodes are few and far between.

It nice to see that Jessie and james, especially Jessie has a heart and that the 3 of them are close :)

8th April 2008, 12:42 AM
I hope Meowth can learn Pay Day because it could only know Fury Swipes!

5th July 2008, 4:32 PM
this episode was good, they focused more on team rocket this time and team rocket is often hilarious.

This is pretty good. It was fun to see Meowth be a leader and then screw it up :P

I liked this episode, it shows that Jessie and James really care about Meowth.

Meowth episodes are the best =3

Aw, it was kinda fun to see Meowth being worshipped as some ruler ^^ It was pretty fun, what with the food and the dancing and the music. But I was so sad to see him order the worshippers to toss Jessie and James into the ocean. I can see why he would, but come on... they're supposed to be a strong-knit trio... well, Jessie and James knew that, anyway. It was so nice to see them reunite in the end ^^

A Meowth episode, we need more of these.

I liked how Ash and Co. barely appeared. I like that Meowth got some decent screentime too. I thought Jessie and James plan of tossing coins was nice. 9/10

I think Meowth was very poor in this episode, especially when the people send Onix and Nidoking to fight vs it.
Meowth proved again that TR won't being parted.

This was a crazy episode. Seeing Meowth worshipped for the 1st time was odd yet very entertaining to watch.

I would've thought Pay Day coins would've been gold not silver. Hmm...

And another Nidoking this season? I guess that's kinda cool.

I didn't find this episode interesting. Meowth is my least favorite of the Team Rocket trio. Ash and co. weren't featured much which is a good thing. It was nice to see why Meowth can't use Pay Day though.

Another episode I loved. And it's good to see Team Rocket getting more air time without Ash and Co. being there 24/7. Team Rocket are so lovable, unlike the other organizations!

A nice episode focusing on Meowth, my favorite part was him imagining how evil Ash, Misty & Tracey were gonna be when once they found out he was going to be on Golden Island as well. James sacrificing his bottle caps for Meowth was the best because it shows how much he loves him.

6th February 2012, 8:06 PM
Seeing this episode was long ago for me, sweet memories... Nice to see an episode with Meowth having a really important role. James sacrificing his bottle caps for Meowth was awesome! 10/10.

I really liked this episode. The fact that the people on the island worshiped Meowth was interesting because I had thought that people only worshiped legendaries. I liked it when Jessie and James helped out Meowth by throwing money and bottle caps onto the battlefield. It was really sweet.

I love all of the TR- centered eps. They're always hilarious (and hopefully Shippy!)

6th September 2012, 5:21 PM
I think this episode was solid - based on the fact that this wasn't oriented on Ash and his friends, but rather on Meowth. That why this episode diverse itself from the standard filler episodes. They did a good job in making episodes like this and the next one that was focused on Tracy.

It's interesting to find out that Meowth cannot learn Pay Day because he spent too much time trying to talk. But, yea a emotion episode.

14th July 2013, 3:02 AM
Meowth was kinda jerk to Jessie and James at the beginning of this episode, but I liked how they rescued Meowth by throwing coins and bottle caps at the woreshippers. It's nice too see why Meowth couldn't learn Pay Day. Overall, it's a nice episode

Favorite line in the whole episode:
"I have a lot of people to disappoint!"

9th November 2014, 11:57 PM
Part of me really hoped that Meowth's struggles against Onix would lead to him actually learn how to use Pay Day, but I thought Jessie and James tossing their own money to simulate that was pretty heartwarming regardless. I liked that their friendship with Meowth persevered and I was also glad that TR got this episode to themselves.

I loved this episode. It was nice seeing TR's friendship by them throwing all their money and bottlecaps away for Meowth. And to see Meowth realize he likes Jessie and James after all

It was cool how this episode focused on Team rocket and barely even showed Ash's group ha ha. Meowth being worshiped by the islanders was interesting tho I felt sad for him when he was forced to battle to use Pay Day.

8th March 2016, 3:06 PM
This is one of my favorite episodes in Orange Islands. It was funny to see that Ash and co. had no idea why they were thrown out of the Island. And Aw,It was really cute to see Jessie and James throwing the coins and bottle caps in order to save Meowth. They really do have a strong bond with each other. 10/10 for me! :)

26th April 2016, 4:23 AM
It was odd seeing Meowth treated so well by the islanders and I liked seeing Jessie & James using their own money just to help Meowth. 7/10

8th June 2016, 11:24 PM
Meowth being worshiped was hilarious, but I almost teared up when Jesse and James tossed their coins to protect him.

10th August 2016, 11:18 PM
Although I liked Meowth's misadventures, I was disappointed with how Ash and his companions didn't do anything in this episode. :(

10th October 2016, 2:15 AM
The part when Jessie and James fled the island with Meowth almost made me cry and it was hard to see him go through the coliseum battle, it was just so sad to watch. The fact that Jessie and James came for him in the end was sweet.

25th October 2016, 9:01 AM
The fact that Satoshi and his friends got chased off the island was good because it allowed Nyasu, Musashi, and Kojirou to get the episode to themselves. The Nyasu cult members were way too gullible for falling for Nyasu's lies, but watching Musashi and Kojirou give up their money to help Nyasu was touching.

Same really. It's sad watching Meowth all these years and see him never get any stronger, he hasn't learned a single new move, let alone Pay Day. Given him and the TRio are allowed to improve on everything else (except for Pikachu stealing of course) it feels unfair.

I can see why him being unable to learn Pay Day was important at first, Jessie and James willing to GIVE UP money for him is a more heartwarming sentiment than him being their personal piggy bank (not to mention could give the bad implication they only want him around so he can give them money), but after 20 years surely some sort of payoff (*drums*) should come out of it.
