a good episode. It resolved more around May, Max and prof. oak then around Ash. You don't really get to see much of prof. Birch
Funny how Max was impressed with Oak and how he treated the starter pokemon in the beginning and how they treated him.
Also never knew max was keeping pictures of professor Oak with him. They did come in handy when the camera was aimed on them and they had to get out of TR's trap
In the end also good teamwork between Ash and co and May and co who were behind the big steel Team Rocket door

looks like a great episode i can't wait to actually watch it.i just love how profesor Oak came to Littleroot Town and brought a Bulbasaur,Squirtle, and Carmander.Max was so exited to see both the three starter pokemon or Kanto and Hoenn!it was funny how exited he still was even though Bulbasaur,Squirtle, and Charmander attacted him but it was kind of his fault in the first place.it was great how the pokemon obeyed him ahen they neaded to.i just love this episode.

I have high hopes for this episode. I read the synopsis, and it sounds promising. Only thing is WTF is with the title!?!?!?! If there's a pun in there, I'm missing it....Or, if it's just a regular title, the dubbers are going stupid on us.

I think it is a pun of something like this "A Profesional Reunion!" I think? sorry about spelling!

This sounds like a good episode. It'll be great to see Bulbasaur, Charmander, & Squirtle again. We haven't seen them on the anime in awhile. It's cool to have both the professors and all 6 starters together on one episode. Did anyone else notice how the two from Kanto (Ash & Brock) stayed with the Hoenn professor while the two from Hoenn (May & Max) stayed with the Kanto professor? I thought that was an ironic touch.

Curious, I just checked Tv Tome (they normally have the explaination of puns in the titles), and they had called it 'A Professor Reunion!' previously, but this is what it was called when I checked it: 'A Six Pack Attack!'

Tv Tome's always been relaible to me, although I've heard otherwise. This title is a lot easier to understand, and sounds more like what 4Kids would come up with. Maybe they really have changed its name.

...and it seems I'm the last to know! Was away when this news first came out, so I didn't catch on...

Anyway, really looking forward to this episode. Oak's one of my favourite characters, so I'll be watching it once the UK schedule sorts itself out again.

An all-around perfect episode. Just some minor clumsy mistakes (Oak called the Mechaloom a balloon) and that horribly cheesy group laugh at the end. An Oak's Haikus, but those have always been a problem.

Good to see that the old starter voices hold up (particularly Charmander's). Can't say too much for Jolteon. It sounded like it sneezed!

Great animation in this episode, this team of animators blow away the previous one. I wish they could animate every ep. They really need to fire the crappy set of animators, you can see how much more exciting everything is when the animation is good like today's ep.

Otherwise pretty good episode. Team Rocket was actually pretty smart today, I liked the fact that they had back-up traps just in case they escaped the first one. The Giovanni fire eyes thing had great animation too.

Also great to see Prof. Oak, and the Kanto starters again, it's been too long. Lots of other Kanto pokemon here too, I guess this episode came out in Japan when FR/LG were first coming out. This is the first ep. where May and Max met Prof. Oak face to face too.

I see May already likes Bulbasaur.

Sure, it's a filler, but it's a good filler. Professor Oak returns, offering a good scene with Max, and we finally get to see Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle again. Seeing Max's reactions to the Kanto starters got a good laugh out of me, expecially the expressions on Charmander and Squirtle after Max squeezes their faces. The structure of this episode was even interesting, as it showcased a few Pokémon we don't see as often anymore (Zubat, Poliwrath, Dugtrio, etc.)

On the dubbing side of things, I notice 4Kids removed the bottom of Jessie, James, and Meowth's wine glasses. Didn't really make a difference, though, since it's obvious the three of them are still drunk off their asses - and the reading by Rachel Lillis, Eric Stuart, and Addie Blaustein was hilarious in that scene. I miss the awesome song that played during the attempt to knock down the door, but what are you gonna do? At least Poochyena (which I still believe should be pronounced "poo-chai-EE-nuh", since it's obviously derived from "hyena") kept its Japanese voice.

It took me a while to realize that Jessie, James, and Meowth were blasting off in the shape of an R. At least they're keeping it fresh.

Ultimately, a fine episode, with some high quality animation that left "Balance of Power" in the dust. Definitely one of the better fillers.

Great episode! Max's abuse of the Kanto Starters was HILARIOUS, as was the teenaged Giovanni in Meowth's fantasy! May bonded well with Bulbasaur, and it seemed kinda obvious she'd be getting one next week-end. Prof. Birch AND Oak had great voices, but in the TC, Jolteon's voice was ABYSMAL! Here's hoping we never see Jolteon in a Hoenn episode.
TR got drunk? Wow, I thought 4Kids would edit that out........
I found it weird that in the cave, every time the trio encountered trouble, the right Pokémon was there to assist. Oh well........
Lots of Kanto Pokémon returned in this episode! Even though I don't like them much, that's still good to see!
Hm, a Skarmory perched on a rock. Might that be the one that carries May away next episode? If so, nice idea, writers!

Overall rating:
9.8 out of 10!!!!
Truly one of the best fillers Hoenn has given us, and a great introduction to Bulbasaur in general.

Discuss ;150; It look like I'm start thing off in this review.

I miss the first 12 min off the show so I beat myself up for that. What I caught was Max, May, and Profssor Oak club out of the cage. It was cool to see may and max on professor oak's shoulders. Oh yeah i forgotten James and Jeesy are drink in this episode, that was cool because the old eugoh to drink right. But don't drink and drive kids.

It was a good episode. But why did the call it A Six Pack Attack! I think the name of a A Profesional Reunion! sounded nice.

Bad Stuff - Like the name of it,
and the fact that the last three line of TR's motto said like, who want I talk about James, James's voice sound like Seto. It oh okay Eric, I sure everybody not to upset about it.

All and all it was a good show, for what I seen of it I catch the begin or the first 12 min, friday. Yami's Rate: 8 out 10. Because I very did not see the whole thing.

You'll be happy to know that Poochyena has had its 'Japanese' Voice since the very beginning. That's not the least bit surprising, as 4Kids! tends to not dub the dog Pokemon.

Why is everyone so surprised at Jolteons voice? That was Jolteons official voice since the Orange Island episode where the guy had to round up Magnemite and Magneton. It's been the same ever since.

I'm not saying I'm surprised, I'm saying it sounded like it had a cold when trying to shout the classic "JOLT!!". Kind of like when they had the Weezing in TC, but not to that extent.

This episode was pretty good. I like seeing Professor Birch again, and good to see him on the road *LOL* Anyways, I don't usually praise Max (especially after last week's episode), but I'm willing to make an exception. He did do a good job with the pokemon.

I liked this episode. It was decent and 4 Kids didn't go overboard with the music unlike last week. I noticed in the episode about ember. When Charmander used ember, it came from its mouth instead spinning around in its tail just like Torchic.

Plus Team Rocket being drunk, that was funny. I was surprised that kept that scene, and it was nice to see the starter Kanto Pokemon, I miss them so much. I hope next week episode is good.

Yay, this was a great episode! It was great to see Max finally get to meet Professor Oak in person, and I loved his happy dance after Professor Oak signed his autograph. :D It was also great just to have Professor Oak back for a while. As much as I enjoy the Hoenn league, even if the sixth and seventh seasons haven't been top favorites, I really miss those characters and pokemon we don't see much of anymore (except Misty). Seeing the old Professor again was a treat. I got a good chuckle when Team Rocket called him "Professor Twerpy". :D LOL

Also, it was great to see Team Rocket finally get that secret base done that they were talking about in season six but was practically forgotten about until last week's episode (apart from the sixth movie short, of course). That was one nice-looking base.

Also, given how amazed Max was to see the Kanto starting pokemon, it made me wonder what he would think about the Johto starters. Just wondering. I know I love the Johto starters. :)

Cool episode. Seeing all these Kanto characters-Professor Oak, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and a bunch of other Kanto Pokemon-was neat.

At first I wasn't sure if Team Rocket was drunk, only because I wasn't sure 4kids would keep that in. But then again, how could they take it out? They never actually outright said the word "drunk", like 2 episodes ago, during "Love, Petalburg Style!", where they kept the affair, but didn't actually ever mention that word. It was strange though, because Team Rocket seemed to have gotten drunk from water. If it was wine, they must have edited it.

Those pics Max got from Pokemon Friend were funny. Especially the one where Oak was posing with his elbow on his knee, and his head on his hand, as he smiled, lol. And they used that to fool Team Rocket into thinking Professor Oak was just posing there, in the camera. Too bad, though; it seems that Max lost those photos in Team Rocket's base.

Speaking of their base, was it really that? I don't remember them mentioning it was a secret base. But maybe they just didn't keep that in the dub.

It was kind of random to have a Skiploom mecha, but whatever.

Max messing with the starters was funny. Pulling on their cheeks and stuff, I mean.

And they foreshadowed May's capture of Bulbasaur, by nearly making her form a friendship-bond type thing with the one in this episode.

And of course, the animation is better.

Wow, this post is longer than I was thinking it would be. Anyway, other than all that, this episode wasn't too special. I'll give this episode a 7/10.

What else can I say about this episode? It had some laughs, some of them which were revolved around Max and him meeting the Kanto starter pokemon. Again, Max may not be my favorite character, but he sometimes gets some laugh-ins.

I may be in the minority, but I really enjoyed seeing some old favorites: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Zubat, Dugtrio, Poliwrath, Gyrados, even Jolteon during the "Trainer Challenge." Bulbasaur and May were interesting. (Hint-hint)

What was that sing-song TR was saying when they were attacked in the Mecha Skiploom? "Are we freezing, are we hot, are we cold, are we not?" Funny stuff.

This week's ep. is worth a 99/100. The end was kinda too fast. They just ended up waving bye to each other just like that. I thought they were at least gonna catch up a little. Especially Ash and the Kanto starters.

*squeals* Charmander~! Kawaii as ever, but still has Zippo's voice.:@ I've always preferred the original Charmander voice(before Ritchie was introduced); it was cuter IMO.-^_^- Nice to see Prof. Oak; it's been a good while since we've seen him in a decent role! I like that TR kept referencing the starters as babies; since technically they just hatched.(Remember what level hatched Pokés are at first in the games?;)) Nice foreshadowing with May and Bulbasaur...The part with them shaking hands(vines in Bulby's case) was so cute!^_^ Overall...9/10. BTW, what was the 'TR getting drunk' thing I'm hearing about?(as in, when did it happen?) Guess they drunk a bit too much sake.^_^;

I think I'm the only one here who gets nauseated with the glaringly obvious "buddy-buddy" hints.

"Hey, were going to let May capture Bulbasaur soon, so we'll let this Bulbasaur stand out from the other starters and have it tickle May's fancy!"

Puh-lease. Next thing you know, they'll have Ash shag a Tropius because they want him to get 'aquainted' with one before his next capture. Careful Ash, it wants your "Pokéballs"!

VERY good episode. I was surprised. I was very entertained by it.

The Good:
-A whole butt-load of Pokemon were in the ep, which is always good. :D

-Team Rocket drunk....Yes.

-A chance to see the old Kanto starters with their old voices again. So good. I actually had my love for Bulbasaur re-kindled by this ep, so I must now restart LG and choose Bulba. ^_^

-The Poochyena from the beginning of Hoenn was back again, and cuter, too. :)

-Team Rocket was actually smart in this episode, and they made me laugh.

The Bad:
-Max....Ugh...After last week's ep, I just can't stand that little b.itch of a kid. I mean, I hated him before "Balance of Power", but now, just seeing him in the eps take the episode down half of a point.

Overall: 9.5/10. Damn Max.

I just liked it when Professor Oak revived the classic Security Camera spoofing trick, putting a static picture in front of it to make TR think Oak (and then assumming) May and Max were still there. I saw something like that in a movie about a bus that had to speed around a city keeping its speed over 50, and if its speed dropped, it would explode. I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"...

Seriously, though, that was a great sequence. Jessie's face upon realizing she'd been had was priceless.

Yeah, that was probably my favorite part of the whole episode. It was just so hilarious that the only thing on the security camera monitor was Ookido-Hakase doing that cheesy pose.XD

Other than that, it was cool to see the Rocket-dan finally make their own base, even though it ended up getting demolished.XP It was also nice to see all the Kanto starters again, even though as V Faction said, it was rather annoying to have Haruka take a liking to that Fushigidane only two episodes before she captures her own. And I thought it was kinda neat that Odomaki Hakase had that Pochiena working for him now, helping him track everyone down.

Dubwise, I can't comment on anything as I slept through it yet again. I swear my alarm clock has some serious issues. It works sometimes, then it just doesn't.XP

about TR's drunk sence:

I just noticed that not only were they congratulating themselves on their base and capturing the starters, but they were also commenting on finding an underground spring.

because if this wasn't, was 4Kids trying to hint that they got the "water" from that spring or something?

A nice episode, I liked seeing the Kanto and Hoen starters together so they can be compared, I personally like the Hoen starters. Now all we need is an episode were we have all 12 starters appearing on screen together. TR getting on druk on water was funny as to the fact that they couldn't distinguish a photo of Oak from the real thing. The Bulbasaur in this episode being friendly to May is a nice foreshadowing to her catching one later in the series.

Too many Generation 1 and 3 Pokemon for my tastes haha; it sort of ruined the mood. I think they only made this episode for LeafGreen and FireRed promotional purposes, though I could be wrong. I say that because of Oak and the Kanto Starters appearing in the middle of the Hoenn saga for no apparent reason. I liked Oak's Hoenn appearance though; I just wished they hadn't pushed the Kanto Starters down our throats. 4/10.

I had to skim some older posts here a second time because a few people said Jolteon was in the episode. Didn't realize that meant it was in the Trainer Choice thing (that the site I use to watch episodes cut's out for some reason...). Now it makes sense. :)

It was pretty cool seeing the Kanto and Hoenn starters in the same episode. Well, the Kanto starters needed to be in this point of the show at some point, what with FireRed and LeafGreen needing anime promotion.
