yeah I liked fighting in the episode and there were some funny shots in this episode. I also think that the ending was really good. Together they battled Team Rocket and became friends again. I think it's a good episode.

Hee Gad that was a nuts battle. It looked more like a nuclear war map than a Pokemon battle. Poor Corphish got screwed in this episode. This is also an episode that shows that May is not good at true battling.

I take a bet of $1 for May. Mommy wants to bet $100,000,000,000,000,000,000 on Ash. Isn't she crazy or what.(Note: Mommy is the "Tate" part of the username and I'm the "Liza" part of the username)

Well, that depends on how you see it, because unlike with Misty and Ash, May deeply apologizes at the end, and so does Ash.

So basically this shipping thing more or less depends on your point of views.

I really can't see how in the world appologizing to someone for a bad mistake you made is considered shipping. o_O; May as well not appologize to anyone if that's the case.

This is also an episode that shows that May is not good at true battling.
Give her a break. It's her first double battle. o_O Satoshi had problems in his first one as well (back in the Orange Islands). She's not exactly perfect, yanno. Plus she doesn't do too much battling since she's a COORDINATOR.

I think the battle (and episode itself) was meant to be comical, which it was. This episode seems pretty funny to me. Skitty & Corphish fighting eachother was funny (poor Corphish)! I also thought it was interesting to see Ash & May actually argue. They usually get along well so its sorta funny to see how they act when they're mad at eachother. I'm glad they made up in the end, though. I'm looking forward to seeing this episode dubbed.

uh, I remember back at Mt Moon near the very start him and Takeshi fought Rocket dan and Takeshi - though it was a dub - said it was a 'tag team battle'

Even though they didn't exist in the games back then, Satoshi shown no reaction to it.

Yes but one of the skills involved in being a Coordinator is battling, you must know that from watching contests by now. Also, since she happens to travel with him on a regular basis these days, it's likely she'll know his strengths and weaknesses from his battles in gyms etc.

Haruka kept depending on Eneko's Assist and it kept using the wrong move..and on the wrong times. Heigani tried using Bubblebeam along with Assist to fight Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but Eneko's Assist used Ember and bursted all of the beams of bubbles. Heigani argued with Eneko who ended up using Assist's Ember on it as it turned to face Heigani. The two trainer began to argue and Satoshi ordered Heigani to attack. Haruka ordered a Blizzard which froze Heigani. She tried to free it with Assist to get Ember but ended up wrapping Heigani with String Shot. Another Assist, but Silver Wind was then used which shaped the icy Heigani back into its normal shape rather than a block of ice. A final Assist and it was Ember, which thawed Heigani. Heigani begins chasing Eneko. Haruka and Satoshi argue over who should control who's Pokémon and watch what they're doing. The Nido trainers finished the fight with Nidoking and Nidoqueen using Rollout together against the unknowing two Pokémon.

Did you even see this episode? Or read the episode guide carefully?
May never battled May one-on-one. So where are you getting the 'equal in battle with her'? If anything, in the May/Jessie vs Ash/James battle, Corphish did a lot of damage to Skitty than it took damage, so I have no idea where you're getting that from.

Then why are you all for Kanto? Kanto had some of the cheapest gym battles ever. -_-

May doesn't battle as much as others do, I don't see why people have to keep putting her down because of that.

Anyway, it seems like a good episode. I have a feeling the dubbed title is going to suck. -_-

Ha-ha, I knew someone would point this out, and being the nerd that I am I decided to soften the blow.

Both Onix and Blaziken would offer up the same amount of Resistances and SE/NVEs. In the long run, Onix would last the greatest.

I haven't much to say for this episode. VERY choppy at some points. But, on the bright side, there was a reappearance of Nidoqueen and Nidoking, and some more Dustox! Other than that, just an average filler, but with a hint of AdvanceShipping.

Overall rating:
7.8 out of 10!!
Not really mind-blowing, but good enough to avoid living up to Johto standards. I hope next week's episode is a lot better, being a capture episode.

Yay, it's been awhile since the last comedy episode. I also love that old Kanto Pokemon still get showcased in Hoenn, especially ones that haven't appeared all that much, go Nidoking and Nidoqueen!

Very funny episode helped by the anime expressions. I love the big head arguments, the word bubbles with the characters faces in them, etc. They're one of the things that made this episode so funny.

The battles were hilarious, Ash and May's first battle with Skitty making an Ice scuplture out of Corphish was great. Then the last free for all match was insane, but still well orchestrated.

Lots of Males Vs. Females stuff in this episode, and Brock's "the battle of the sexes will continue" line.

I have to admit that Ash and May scenes were cute, you can tell that Veronica Taylor was having a lot of fun in this episode, voicing both characters and having them constantly yelling at each other. I also like Veronica's more sultry voice, which she used for May at the end when she was apologizing.

Veronica Taylor = Best voice actor 4kids has on Pokemon. Veronica Taylor > Eric Stuart.

Quite enjoyable. I may record the repeat just because of the music. The E4 and Kanto Gym remixes are my favorite pieces of the shows music.

As I've said before, James should kick Jessie to the curb. He and Ash actually made a very good team until Jessie cheated.

Today's moral, in a tag battle, the trainers must be in sinc as well as the Pokemon.

Though May taking her own sweet time would erk me I will admit.

The trainers of the day creeped me out. Who in this day and age would travel in public dressed like that? Not to mention the whole love thing got real old real fast.

The Big Al's rating 7.3 out of 10.

This was a decent filler episode. It had some pretty humorous moments in it. And I have a feeling the Advanceshippers are going to have a feild day with this one. Heh.XP

The double battles were pretty cool, but I especially liked the one with Satoshi and Kojirou battling against Haruka and Musashi. It was really interesting how people who were normally enemies worked together like that.

Unlike last week, I haven't seen the original yet but was able to catch the dub. --; That said, I don't have many comments about it, but even without having seen the original, I think it's safe to assume the only music that was kept was during the double battle with Satoshi/Kojirou and Haruka/Musashi. And is it just me, or at the end did Ash refer to their battle with Oscar and Andy? >>;

This might be the most well-written episode of "Pokémon Advanced" ever - but I haven't seen all of them, so I can't be sure. Regardless, I give props to whoever wrote this week's dub script, as well as the author of the Japanese original. Great back-and-forth dialogue between Ash and May, including stuff I wouldn't normally expect to hear on this show (all their talk about how the opposite gender is pathetic and all that). I'm convinced that Oscar and Andy simply go around trying to wreck other people's relationships and screw with their opponents' heads - both their battles were hilarious (Corphish chasing Skitty and Seviper wrapping Cacnea were both classic). And after a volley of classic Jessie and James insults - which was one of the best-written scenes this week - we get the big Battle of the Sexes (a term Brock actually used, to my surprise). Now THIS is inventive writing: a tag battle between the heroes and villains with one of each on each side, that eventually deteriorates into total anarchy. Great animation, fast pacing, hilarious voice work - this episode had it all. Unfortunately, that also includes the typical ending, but they made it work anyway. One of the best episodes I've seen in a long time.

Favorite moments:
- Skitty freezing Corphish and then Assisting it over and over again trying to get Torchic's Ember attack
- James hitting Jessie's soft spot with the ugly remark
- Both "speech balloon" arguments - it felt hysterically Tex Avery for some reason
- Dustox blowing away Brock and Wobbuffet at the same time
- Meowth's "Ow" after Skitty trips them during their getaway

If only they could all be this crazy!

For those looking for a mistake, here ya go: Jessie called out to Dustox to use Pin Missile. It should've been Poison Sting. In this one, I don't blame them. Why they have to use practically the same animation for both... ?

Also, I'm not so surprised at Brock's "Battle of the Sexes" comment. It's a common phrase, something 4Kids! is fond of putting into the dub, and it's been used before in the movies.

I loved the big attack scene, particularly because of how useless Habunake was. Since it doesn't have any projectile attacks, all it could do is just sit there and scream.

Once in a while, Team Rocket forgets. So Ash is trying to play it safe, I guess.

I noticed that too, about the Trainers Choice. They spelled Onix's name wrong. What is the matter with them???????????

Overall, I loved this episode! It was so funny! I all ready watched it 3 times in the last couple hours. As what I thought, May and Ash woke up in the wrong side of the bed. I love the part when they first argued where Ash doesn't see himself in the mirror like May does. Plus the bubble faces, that was funny, and May sayin "DARN IT!!!" The battle the sexes was funny even though GIRLS LOST!!!! Thanks alot Jessie!

In a way, to me it was that battle couple fault that made both groups to argue. Even though May and Ash argument started earlier, they made matters worse sayin their a couple and that goes the same with J&J. Sayin that their a couple got them fighting.

I can't believe no one brought about the part where Brock said the battle of the sexes is over. I'm pretty surprised.

I totally loved this episode, the arguments, the fighting, and a sweet ending when they make up. Also proved that no matter what, no sex will ever prove who is best, even though Ash and James won by default in the battle of the sexes.

There were some pretty funny lines and animation. I liked the scene where James called Jessie ugly, and the battles were great. Certainly good, but I can't help but feel that May was just being a different-looking Misty the entire episode... It seems like they're using May to get the Kanto Misty back... Bickering, having to constantly say that they're not a couple, etc.

Hey, this is the best episode I've seen for quite a while.

The part in the beginning with May obsessing over the mirror was funny, yet a bit random, too.

Oscar and Andy were strange. Actually, they were also sort of random. All they did is come in, have a couple tag battles, then left for the entire episode. But it was nice to see Nidoking and Nidoqueen.

Team Rocket's arguing was hilarious. I never thought I'd say this, but James' too-silly voice was amusing. Of course, I'd still like the old one back (not Ted Lewis). Anyway, yeah, James was funny. His line about Jessie being ugly. Then, right after he said that, he had a funny smile on his face, in the bubble. Then he kept on with the "uglies", and Jessie started with the "La-la-la's (I can't hear you)".

Then the tag battle, Ash & James vs. May & Jessie was funny. It looks like the boys were going to win, until Jessie cheated with her Dustox. Although, it was nice to see it around again.

Meowth trying to get Jessie & James' attention was funny, too. For some reason it seemed like it was doing something else, more like dancing.

Yep, this was a classic episode. I'll give it a 9/10.

OMG i know everyone is here saying how much they loved the episode but i have to say it too! i just gotta get it out of me! thank god for this episode man..hopefully more will be like this!

Andy and whats his face were wierd but hey atleast they knew Jess and James were in love! haha. Wobbuffet and brock..priceless man! and James and Jesse arguing.. how could it get any better!!! omg they are too funny! specially the part when he calls her ugly. and the last battle was reeking of awesomeness too! i like it when they are all around each other like that. and when they all started going crazy attacking each other and everything, omg i was laughing so hard! i was suspecting ash and may would steal the ending so when they did i wasnt bothered too much. cause jess and james did too and it rocked. yup i saved it on my dvr and im keeping it forevers.

Ever since the battle with Flannery, the fillers have become more entertaining in my opinion.

Favorite Moments:

Brock being bothered by Wobbuffet
Brock telling Max that Males and Females have been arguing since the beggning of time XD
2 vs 2 battles! w00t!
James' 'Jessie is ugly' song

I gave this one a 10;
Brock and Wobby together for a mysterious cause. Most confusing battle ever, FUNNI!

My most favorite part was a scene I dubbed "Frozen Phish" (a pun on Frozen Fish). Yes, I am talking about when Skitty's blizzard freezed Corphish and she tried to melt him with Assist. Nice Skitshipping there.

But we also had what I am dubbing "Twerpshipping" (May and Jessie or Ash and James). The TR and twerp double battle was funny. So that's what Emerald Double Battles are going to be like

This is simply one of the most hilarious episodes ever :D
I really liked the speech bubble fights, Corphish vs. Skitty (Skitty looks so funny in the scene when they are both defeated, totally different from her usual, cute look), and of course, the Tag Battle Ash and James against May and Jessie xD
The Tag Battle Couple had a lousy dress sense, but never mind! They were also hilarious anyway.
I have only seen the original version, so I can't say if this joke was in the dub included too (But I'd say no since I don't know how they could have done that).. but well, I died of laughter when Ash was sarcastic and imitated May's 'kamo' in one sentence. The way he said it was just priceless.
Well, if I continued, I'd use the word 'hilarious' several million times, so I'll stop right here ^^

This episode was hilarious.

It was funny how Jessie and James were able to interpret what Meowth was trying to get across to them.

Why was the girl's name Andy?

Yeah, I noticed the Onix misspelling too (did I spell misspell correctly?)

The speech bubble part was hilarious. It was funny looking at the James was walking too.

Jessie should stop cheating.

I loved this episode. 9.5/10

I was bored and decided to watch pokemon (I havent watched it since the first few episodes of advance challenge) and it was actually...funny. It's the best episode I ever seen of this season. James was so hallarious, this is an episode that could get me back into the series again.

It's just that May is so annoying, Max is awesome though so it makes up for her annoyingness I guess. It was funny when Ash was making fun of May the whole episode.

Anyway, It was really funny when James was singing about Jessie being ugly XD

EDIT: When is this ep. on again? I want to re-watch it XD

THERE WAS A HYPER BEAM OF LOVE!!!

Really, those two guest characters were among the briefest and least important characters of the day ever, but it somehow made them wonderful! I wonder if they spend all their days beating up any male/female pair they come across?

Honestly, on the shippers side, this episode may be the best out there for arguing that Ash and James have no feelings for their current female partners. Ash never even did his fanatical angry denial, or blushed (aside from when May questioned how good he looked).

Who knew Wobbuffet aspired to be a battle judge? Or maybe he just wanted to experience the joy of the Wobbuffet way without the risk of Jesse sucking him back into the ball. I just loved Max, Meowth, Brock and Wobbuffet's short quips to each other during the battle. In some odd way the two groups have really come to know each other pretty well over the years, almost like some freaky dysfunctional family.

May: "Boys, always in denial about their insecurities."
Ash: "Me, insecure? You're the one who has to primp in front of mirrors."

Jesse: "Who are you calling a couple?!"
Meowth: "And who did you completely ignore?!

Jesse: "Who are you calling a couple?!"

You know, that might have been the best line of the episode. Like I said, whoever wrote this dub script deserves a hats off.

Unfortunately, I set my tape for 30 minutes instead of 35 for taping (I always go over in case the clock is off) and lost the last 30-60 seconds of the episode, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this episode. :) Like "A Double Dilemma", I just couldn't stop laughing during the episode. I'm glad they kept the advanceshipping hints, even though I'm not an advanceshipper, even though the U.S. is more into pokeshipping. Otherwise, it would've ruined the episode. It makes me rethink Ash and May a little bit, though I'm still a contestshipper. Anyway, here's my highlights and lowlights:

HIGHS

-- Rocketshipping! Yay! :D
-- One of the all-too-rare teamups of Team Rocket and Team Twerp. Okay, so it was against teammates, but still, I love when they work together.
-- Team Rocket kicks some butt!
-- Wobbuffet popping over by Brock, and Brock telling him not to do that. LOL :D
-- Dustox! Yay! :D
-- Jessie/James and May/Ash reconciling

LOWS

-- Oscar and Andi. YIKES, don't get me started on them, they made me sick after a minute. :p

10/10 for me. :D I'm retaping Friday so I can get the entire episode. This was definitely one of the best episodes of the season.

YOU CAN'T SAY "SEXES" IN A POKEMAN CARTOON. MY SOCCER MOM IS GOING TO FORM UBER POWER-RANGER LIKE COALITION MONSTER TO TAKE DOWN 4KIDS...

Actually, yeah.. this episode was pretty cool. Best I've seen in a while. Could've done better without the 20 whatever year old hermaphrodites named Bert and Ernie or whatever they were calling themselves.. but, all in all it was great.

This episode cracked me up. I watched it at my cousins house in the morn. Like others, when he said "the battle of the sexes is over" it caught me off guard. The odd thing is, this episode had nothing to do with "a new pokemon or anything" just bickering and tag battling thats all though

That's true, it really is. And that can be a good foundation for some actual friendships, should J&J ever decide to actually leave Team Rocket.

And forgive me if this has been mentioned before...maybe I heard wrong, but did Jessie tell Dustox to use Pin Missile on Cacnea? If so, there's a little dub goof, but no big deal.

I respect your opinion. Yes they did seem a tad confused but it is understandable that they weren't expecting the word "love" from Oscar and Andy. However it is true. Or have you forgotten about the episode Electric Shock Showdown when Joy told Ash and Misty that fighting is a sign of friendship/love? And what do you know? In the end, Pokeshipping was revealed to be true. If it were the case for Pokeshippers, it shall be too for Advanceshippers. Obviously blushing is not the only sign of love, ya should know that my friend =P

Characters don't always need to blush to show affection, I don't know why so many people say "OMG they didn't blush, so it wasn't shippy!" which is pretty dumb in itself.

There were quite a few times Ash and Misty fought and neither of them blushed.

Bah, some shipping *does sarcastic dance*

After seeing all the good ratings I was expecting this to be better but from an entertainment point of view it wasn't great at all, unless you're in to that kind of thing. There was a lot of plot confusion and parts that just plain didn't make sense, there was more reusing of animations in this episode then in any other I've seen, and just when I thought TR wasn't going to do their song they squeezed it in 2 minutes from the end

On the plus side Wobuffet mimicking Brock was adorable ;)

*Team Rocket and ain Charecters working together.
*May trying to make Skitty use ember.
*Seviper wrapping up Cacnea.
*Corphish and Skitty's fight.
*Jessie and James Hints!

Bad Points.
*That couple was annoying!

*Max he wasn't very involed in this episode.

Wobbuffet imitating Brock
The fights where you saw their heads in the bubbles
James singing 'Jessie is so ugly!'
Corphish chasing Skitty
Corphish battling with Skitty
Corphish scupture
And more!

But what I hated were:

Andy and Oscar
An episode that starts more 'OMG!!! ASH AND MAY FOREVER!!!1'

Overall, 9/10.

An alright episode all in all. Is it just me or was the animation of Nidoking and Nidoqueen alot smaller than normal? They looked squashed o_O

The only part I enjoyed was Brock swooning, saying he would endure all sorts of attacks for her love. And then when Wobbuffet was imitating him.

The couple were indeed annoying, "Show us the love with your powerful [insert attack here]!" ¬_¬

This episode probably could be one of the most controversial episodes in Pokemon. That whole Ash and May love motive could upset some Ash and Misty fans, and make Ash look bad. Heck, one can't help it if one has a girlfriend and someone nicer comes along.

CyberCubed

Except for the fact that Ash is single, and doesn't have a girlfriend.

A crush does not mean two people are together, or will ever get together you know.

STJ

I don't think the whole episode is that controversial..

and people are obviously going to have their own opinions on whether it was Advanceshipping or not..

As for me, well, even though the episode didn't prove that they where in love with each other, it did show how strong their friendship was..

I mean, in the one real fight that these two have, in the end they are actually able to swallow their pride and apologise to each other, which, from what I can recall, with all their fights, Ash and Misty never did.

I really really hated this episode and will never watch it again because Oscar and Andi are nothing more than friendship destroyers, the way they trick couples into tag battles and wipe the floor with them, making the couples hate each other's guts. And then when Jessie sends out Dustox to disrupt the tag battle and starts breaking James's neck makes me hate her even more. She's a little *****! If it wasn't for Meowth, and May's Skitty getting Assist to work, then the **** would have hit the fan.

(end venting)

This joins the list of my #1 Hated episodes next to Pikachu Re-Volts, the battles with Sabrina(she is creepier than Alma of F.E.A.R.) and Meowth Rules(because of Meowth's nightmare when the twerps arrive).

Wonderful arguments of both parties, May and Ash just fight all the time, and Jessie and James started because of the battle. Ash doesn't watch himself in the mirror for some reason.

Ohhh, the banned episode from Hoenn. I remembe hearing this one was banned in Italy I believe for some reason. I remember watching it and being quite bored with the whole "gender rivalry" thing. It was refreshing to see Ash and May get along more like Ash and Misty did in the Original Series, but it also got bland as the episode progressed. The double battle was decent, but nothing new or exciting; just more double battle hype to go along with the games. Having both Ash and May resolve their conflict to save Pikachu was the perfect way to end this episode. 6/10.

This episode was ok... It was interesting to see Ash fighting/arguing with May and Jessie fighting/arguing with James at the same time in this episode. It was cool to see them settle it with a 4-way battle. The battle itself was really bizarre they were yelling at each other with everything that goes wrong in the battle. It was great to see them appologizing to each other after all of the Chaos.

This episode had some dumb arguements. Ash should have left May to finish her face and left her! Her and Max love to stalh for time yet when it comes to them everyone has to cater. I don't get why Ash has to argue with each girl that comes on the show. But I guess it's for relationship reasons.

I also thought this whole theme of tag battle and the fights between May, Jessie and Ash and James was hilarious as an sort of comic character development for all of them.
