Since no episode guide is up yet, I'll just copy/paste my bullet point synopsis:

-Starts out with Richie and Sparky on a boat to the next destination. After the narrator announces him as a boy who aims to be a Pokemon Master, a bunch of Gyarados are seen popping out of the water. Everyone who's on the boat deck start to run inside (why they think they'll be safer inside than outside is beyond me) while a mysterious, shadowy figure steps up.

-The stranger throws a PokéBall, and out comes a Salamence! As Richie looks the pokemon up on his PokéDex (he still has the old Johto model, by the way), the man steps into the light, revealing a Chikorita on his shoulder.

-Salamence is ordered to use Hyper Beam. The attack serves as a warning, and the Gyarados all swim away like dogs with their tails between their legs.

-The man, who introduces himself as Silver (Shi-ru-ba-a), says that he's going to an island (Tomoshibi Mountain) to battle with the legendary pokemon, Moltres.

-Just then, a woman with long, orange hair and a man with short, green hair appear and introduce themselves as researchers from some Academy (I think the green-haired guy gave Naruto as his fake name). They tell Richie that they're working with Silver to help find Moltres.

-The boat arrives on shore, and Silver and the two Academy people get off the boat. Just as the boat begins to leave, Richie decides that he wants to follow them, so he jumps off the boat at the last minute.

-Richie catches up to Silver and the others. Richie tells them that he wants to see the legendary pokemon, and the green-haired guy tells him that the pokemon is difficult to track because it's constantly going from island to island. The two assistants tell Richie that he can't go, but Richie insists that he'll be alright. Silver ends it by telling him to give up, and with that Silver and the others leave Richie behind.

-It starts to get late, so Silver's group decides to camp out for the night.

-Richie, who's not as fast as the three adults, finally catches up with the group. Before he reaches them, though, he overhears the two assistants talking to a transmitter. The voice on the radio tells them to be sure to capture Moltres for him.

-At that moment, Richie draws attention to himself by accidentally stepping on a twig. The noise alerts the two assistants, who walk over to the spot where Richie was eavesdropping to investigate. Luckily for Richie, he is able to hide by dangling himself off one of the rocks below. After seeing no one, the two assistants go back to their spot and resume their conversation.

-The man on the radio is soon revealed to be Dr. Nanba, and he reveals that the two Academy assistants are none other than Cassidy and Botch (...I mean Butch) from Team Rocket!

-Soon after, Silver appears and asks Butch and Cassidy what they're doing. They respond by saying that they were just out for a stroll, and then nervously return back to the camp. Silver stays behind, and after the two Rockets leave, he goes over to the spot where Richie is hiding. The young trainer is still dangling from the cliff, but not for long--the rock he's hanging off of starts to break! The wannabe Pokemon Master starts to fall, but Silver's Chikorita uses its Vine Whip to save him.

-Richie is invited to stay with the group back at the camp. Butch and Cassidy announce that they're going back to the tent to sleep, and as they're being yelled at by Dr. Nanba, Silver and Richie have a chat by the campfire. Richie thanks Silver for the rescue, and then begins to reminisce about Ash for some reason. Silver seems to know who Ash is, and acts surprised when he hears his name. Silver then reveals that he's seen Moltres once before, when he was little, and ever since then he's been marveling its awesome power.

---commercial break---

-It's the next day, and Silver and the others finally reach the top of the volcano. As the volcano rumbles, Cassidy notices all the dark clouds in the sky. Richie then looks up and spots Moltres, flying behind the clouds!! He looks the legendary pokemon up on his PokéDex as Silver sends out his Salamence to battle it. The dragon pokemon uses Hyper Beam, but it misses. Moltres responds with a Flamethrower, but the attack is weak and doesn't even reach Salamence. After it attacks, Moltres is noticeably weak and is seen panting.

-Butch and Cassidy think that it's their chance. They urge Silver to keep battling (to continue weakening it, of course), but Silver angrily yells at them to butt out. The disguised Rockets respond by calling out their pokemon--Cassidy calls out Cloyster while Butch calls out Tentacruel. Just then, Cassidy pulls out a large net bazooka and ensnares Moltres.

-Silver orders Salamence to break the net with its claws, and the pokemon obeys. However, Butch and Cassidy ignore it as they have their water pokemon use a combined Water Gun on the already weakened Moltres (they came prepared!). Meanwhile, Cassidy fires another net and catches Salamence with it. She then fires a third one at Richie and Silver. The net is electrically charged and begins to shock Richie and the others.

-Next, Butch and Cassidy remove their disguises and perform their motto. Silver goofs up and calls Butch "Botch," which angers him. Then Cassidy makes the same mistake, angering him even more.

-Butch and Cassidy have their pokemon use Water Gun on Moltres again. As the legendary pokemon is being pummeled by water, Cassidy fires another net at it, ensnaring it once more. As Cassidy is distracted, Silver has his Chikorita use Razor Leaf to free them from the net. He then tells Salamence to use its claws to break its net. Now that everyone's free, they all turn angrily toward Butch and Cassidy.

-Richie has Sparky use Thunderbolt on Butch and Cassidy. Team Rocket blasts off again!

-Just then, Moltres, who's still trapped in its net, begins to fall weakly toward the volcanic magma below! Salamence swoops down to save it, but it's too late! The legendary bird falls into the magma as everyone helplessly watches on.

-After a few tense moments, the magma begins to glow with an intense light--so intense, in fact, that it can be seen from miles away! Moltres bursts out of the magma and shoots a huge Flamethrower attack into the sky. Richie notices that it's a lot different from the one that it fired at Salamence earlier, and the young trainer figures that the magma must have recharged its power.

-As Moltres is flying, Silver calls for another battle. Moltres agrees as Salamence starts off with a Hyper Beam attack. Moltres counters with a Flamethrower. The two attacks collide, resulting in an explosion that sends smoke flying everywhere. After the smoke clears, we see a Flamethrower attack headed straight for an unsuspecting Salamence. It hits, and another huge cloud of smoke is created. After the smoke clears, Goku...uh, I mean Salamence appears to be OK. Salamence is ordered to use Double Team, and Moltres counters this tactic by unleashing a huge sphere of fire energy.

-As the battle continues, the volcano starts to shake again. As Silver says that Tomoshibi Mountain is about to erupt, a boulder heads right for them! Moltres uses a Flamethrower attack to stop the boulder, saving Silver and Richie.

-Silver and Richie are soon seen riding on Salamence's back. Silver says goodbye to Moltres, saying that they'll meet again. Richie wonders if it's OK to let it go like that, and Silver reckons that it is.

-At the dock, Richie is about to leave the island. Silver says that he'll stay behind, so Richie bids his farewell.

...and that's it. MUCH better than last week's episode, in my opinon. Kinda odd that Silver knows who Ash is...could it be that That Scary Clefairy isn't as crazy and/or stupid as originally thought? ;)

I think Sliver knew Ash from when he was at the Indigo Tourney.

I agree with Riaf on that one, but the thing I don't agree w/ is that Cassidy has red hair. It's strawberry blond. If you compare her to Misty(a true red-head), she definately doesn't have the same hair color. And I agree with Tracey when he says Butch and Cassidy are the equivelent of Jessie and James in 'Epic Battle at Oak's Lab'. They were formitable at first but after they started getting beaten again and again, they started to get kinda lame. Another thing, if Cassidy called Butch "Botch", then I seriously doubt if the rumors about them being Boyfriend/Girlfriend are true(Neoshipping). If she was really his girlfriend, i don't think she would mess up his name.

Didn't we go through this on Bulbagarden? And it turned out you were mistranslating what he said?

Wel the episode has just aired in the UK and I have to say that I thought that it was OK but one thing which annoyed me was when they called it Mt. Magma instead of Mt. Ember. Also, Richie is supposedley sailing on the SS Anne, which I thought sank when Ash was on it.

They built another one? Afterall, Ash's adventure on the SS Anne was several years ago. Just like the Twin Towers are being replaced and just like New Orleans will be rebuilt, it's probably the same thing here.

Did Silver's name remain Silver? What about the supposed 'surprised reaction' that Silver makes to the mention of Ash's name?

More than likely not, but what about Professor (Or 'Doctor', as they have now named him in the dub. -_-) Nanba? His voice remain the same? (Going by previous Hosos, it's the same as his appearence from the Lugia Three Parter, but I just wanted to make sure.)

I'm somewhat of a Nanba fan, if truth be told. :p

And did Cloyster have it's old 'Cler-cler-cler-Cloyster!' voice from the Orange Islands?

The amn was still called Silver. Cant remember the mention of Ashs name, must've missed that part.
Doctor Nanbe remained Doctor Nanba and had the same voice actor.
And I did not really pay attention to how cloyster sounded but I think it was the same, minus all of the cler's

Also Cybercubed, I thought that ships were never named after another one. I know that rebuilds have the same name, but the old one was lost at the bottom of the sea so it would be more like a new project, that is why I said that, no offence intended.

I've just seen it today and it was quite an alright episode. I like episodes about trainers set out to perform an Ulitmate Challenge like challenge a legendary.

Also this episode has given me a new respect for Salamence (I've never really liked the dragon type pokemon)

they changed Chikorita's dub voice....
It's impossible to change its dub voice when it had two. Casey's and Ash's. And where does it say that all Pokemon of the same species have to have exactly the same voice? -_-

It annoyed me when they called the boat the S.S Ann, It Sank.. it's GONE >_<;
I don't think they can name ships the same name.. Damn 4kids.. morons.. they so just don't think when they dub these

Magus

Sure, they can reuse a ship's name. I think there have been like 20 ships named "Enterprise", and that's not counting the fictional ones from Star Trek.

This is the one I'm looking forward to. Not only for Salamence......but I like Moltres, Richie is a nice change from Ash once in a while, Butch & Cassidy (and Dr. Nanba) are fun too.

So they made another S.S. Anne, I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe they named it that in memorial of the first one >_> And unless it was specifically said that they were going to the Sevii Islands, there's nothing saying Mt. Magma was a misdub. It just isn't the same as Mt. Ember.

We haven't seen Cloyster in the anime for a LONG time since "The Mandarin Island Miss Match" (save for a brief cameo or two in Pokemon the Movie 2000). It's about time! And the facial expressions it has in this episode are hilarious (like when it gets blasted off)!

Yeah... I like Cloyster, LOL

This looks like an okay episode. Moltres is a Fire Pokemon, so therefore I have to like the episode. It's funny that tough Silver guy has a Chikorita. You'd think he'd have something else fully-evolved or stronger to compliment his Salamence. They only have one Hoenn Pokemon in it, that means it may be boring. I think I'll like the rest of Legend of Thunder even though there are no Hoenns, but that's just 'cause Jimmy is the best! Ritchie is just so-so, therefore it's not insured I like this one. The only really good thing is he has a Charmeleon.

Well, it was an okay episode for the most part (just saw it a couple of hours ago). And of course, Butch is always entertaining. He's not as goofy as James, but he keeps me on some kind of comfort level (considering I don't like his English or Japanese voice). One of the funniest things Butch said was calling Professor Namba, Professor Mambo...*is reminded of the show Duckman for some reason* And for one small second, Butch and Cassidy seemed believable. And as for Richie, I do enjoy him (in small doses) and since he's less annoying than Ash, it makes it all better. Oh and of course, not a special goes by where we are constantly reminded of Ash (except of course for the Raikou special).

So anyways, an okay episode.

This episode made me think of the thread asking if Team Rocket's disguises have ever fooled you. If it wasn't for seeing the episode pictures a few years ago, and Cassidy's unique hairstyle, they could have easily fooled me in this episode. Even Butch's voice sounded different.

This was a pretty good special overall. I saw it a week late, thanks to my stupid TV, but at least I enjoyed it. Richie wasn't as great here as he was in his previous two Chronicles episodes, but the story itself was good. Silver was an interesting guest character. I liked the part when Butch called Nanba "Mambo", and the radio was animated with Nanba yelling at him. That had me ROFLOL, and going back over it a few times. Nevertheless, after so many Butch and Cassidy episodes, at least we won't see them again until next spring.

Overall, 7/10.

Why was it necessary for Richie to bring up Ash? o_0 He must not have much of a social life...

All in all I thought this was so-so. Not particularly interesting...

Jessie, James, and Meowth are pointless enough by themselves. They don't need Chronicle counterparts. I've never had a problem with TR outside of the infamous trio, but if Butch and Cassidy keep filling in their role I just might. >.<

Are you saying you only like Pokemon when it has the ones from the third generation? Why? o_0

But anyway, yesh, Kenta > Richie. (But that's just my opinion, and a biased one at that. I love anything Crystal version. ^.~)

Seeing Richie again is nice, it's interesting that he's always traveling alone and not with a group. The way Silver reacts when he hears Ashes name make me wonder if he's encountered him before or if he' possibly Ashes father. The battle between Salamence and Molters was excellent I liked how Molters turned Dragonrage into that giant Moltres. Also Team Rocket must get hot wear their disguises over the uniforms all the time when undercover that's got to be uncomfortable.

Silver recognizes Ash's name. He's got a cutesy Pokemon that rides around on his shoulders. He's got a flying dragon powerhouse. He's following a legendary firebird. He's loud, brash, and a little arrogant. Silver being Ash's father seems pretty plausible to me, considering the sheer number of parallels between the two.

I don't believe the anime mentioned it, but does this take place on One Island in the Sevii Islands? Or is Mt. Ember a coincidence?

Anyway, I loved that Richie appeared again, and that he got his own story. This is probably the last we'll see of him so it's good to see him with a Legendary Pokemon (Moltres).

This episode was cool. It was great to see Moltres in this episode, my fav. legendary Fire type. It was cool to see a battle between Salamance and Moltres that wasn't about capturing, but to make each other stronger. Those disguises of Cassidy and Butch were so obvious... The battle between Moltres and Salamance was great!

This was awesome! I loved Silvers Chikorita, it's much like Ash' Pikachu, but much cuter!

Also nice to see Chikorita with other "kinds of trainers", Chikorita in other episodes were from Casey and Ash, both young, stubborn trainers. Also nice to see a cute Chikorita with an experienced trainer who searches for legendary Pokemon.

Also, great battle between Salamence and Moltres. Sure, the battle wasn't finished, but still great!

Most people searching for legendaries in both the anime and the movies are evil. It was good to see someone searching for a legendary Pokemon, without any evil intentions.

There should've been a sequel to this, with a finished battle between Moltres and Silver (who would probably use Salamence again).
