Wheather its a weakness berry, stat boasting berry or a sitrus berry. How many of you do attach berries on pokemon.

I find that most people just attach leftovers on every pokemon unless theres an item clause rule like the battle tower and the Video Game Champs.

My favorite berry is the Starf-berry..Putting it on a PKMN that could use any stat well it often changed the battle(but not always)

I never use berries on my pokemon. But then again, I've never battled competitively, and from what I've seen, thats where they're needed more.

i use berrys alot and when im bored i do lvl 1 battles and that's where they shine as most have 11 hp meaning an oran berry fully heals and if not a sitrus berry does

Only the S-E halving ones in the Battle Tower.

When I make one hold it I have no idea how to make it eat it so I don't.

I give my Yache Berry to any Dragon I use on Wi-Fi. It's helped me in several battles.

There needs to be a SOMETIMES option, but whatever. Mainly I give a Yache Berry to an appropriate Dragon, but thats it.

i dont like using berries.
imo, they're not that helpful.

the only berries i would use is HP restoring or the chesto/rest combo.

I usually use berries like the Yache and Occa that lower the amount of damage taken from super effective moves, and Persim or Lum berries for confusion from Outrage and other status conditions.

28th June 2009, 6:44 PM
Yes.

My pokemon usally carry the ones which halfes the a super effective move.
They also hold Sitrus and Lumberries too.

Pyrax
28th June 2009, 6:50 PM
Yes, sometimes
But most commonly the Yache, Sitrus, and Lum berries.

Erienne
28th June 2009, 9:42 PM
Mostly not, but it high-end battles definitely. Or places like the Battle Frontier as well. Choice berries for me are the Sitrus and Lum, since those seem to be the most helpful.

Ingame or competitively? Competitively I use Liechi, Salac, etc sometimes, and occasionally Occa/etc. Ingame I use Berries if I remember to... but I usually forget to attach anything.

Endure Salac/Liechi/Petaya anyone? I use berries all the time, even sitrus, and ingame I use the status healing berries all the time.

EDIT:Beaten.

I don't think I've ever used a berry. I mainly use other items, like Focus Bands and stuff like that.

I only play in-game, and I've never used any of the berries. :/

Lucariofan-atic

Sometimes i attach Starf berry to my pokemons.
But usually sitrus, chesto, and Lum, because that 3 was the most useful for me.

Volt of Noid
4th July 2009, 3:30 AM
NEVER. Berries in my opinion are a waste of time, and you cant rely on a berry activating when your below half...what if you are just above half? And you need to heal? Then you get K.Oed because you didn't...I hold white herb or whatever its called in competitive for a double draco meteor with no stat reduction on the first.

BynineB

My Magnezone holds a Shuca Berry.

I usually attach Sitrius Berry on my Pokemon.

LavenderEyedNinetales

I don't use berries competitively; but I typically maintain arboretums of Oran and Sitrus berries for use early on in my games.

sometimes.
only if I battle my bro.

I sometimes do that combination with endure too.

Other then that I must say that Lum berries are quite good.

AlCario
9th July 2009, 11:09 AM
Never. I reserve berries for poffins, not battles.

Calm PokeMaster

I mostly attach a stat increasing berry or Lum berry.

11wildy
13th July 2009, 2:26 PM
I sometimes do, when I don't have other items like amulet coin and such things.

Silent Conversation
13th July 2009, 2:38 PM
I don't usually bother attaching berries. I sometimes attach certain items to Pokemon, but never really berries. TBH, I don't really show very much interest in anything berry-related.

i attach lum berries to my pokemon bcause it messes up the opponent when they try to mess you up

Pokemon-Dratini
13th July 2009, 4:11 PM
sometimes, i usually give a sitrus berry to my raichu, and on PBR my dragonite always has a lum berry (so i can use outrage)

COKTAL
13th July 2009, 4:16 PM
In-game, I never attach berries to my pokemon. I only uses items like the power items, exp. share/Lucky Egg, Amulet Coin, etc. I use a few here and there on Wi-Fi, but even then not that many.

Zhanton
14th July 2009, 4:56 AM
I don't attach berries.

dawsoc
15th July 2009, 5:20 PM
i don't,maybe in the battle tower, but it's just so hard to find them.

Noheart
15th July 2009, 5:36 PM
I only use the stat-boosting berries in competetive battling. But I download them from PBR so they're not that hard to get.

When I make one hold it I have no idea how to make it eat it so I don't.
I think they activate when you're at 25% health or lower, but if you have the Gluttony ability then it activates at 50%.

Yes I attach salac berries to my charizard to boost his speed.

PocketmonMaster
22nd July 2009, 3:27 AM
I do at times, but not very often. I obviously see the upside to giving a Yache Berry to a Salamence/ Garchomp or something - But I usually find something else to add.

Its not that the berries are bad or anything, I just find that there are so many items that can fufill so many jobs that the Berries seem to be left out :/

I only use berries if I don't have any leftovers or shell bells left.

Trainmaster718

Yes.
Since D/P introduced all the new SP halfing and other special stuff... Ya.
And I find Lum Berry + Syncronise to be a VERY helpful combo... Take that, you damn annoyers!

Ingame, I always use expert belts or leftovers. Competitive, I only use berries when it's a subberry set or a lum berry if I can't think of any other good item.

kimy1688

The only time I ever attach berries to my Pokemon is when I'm first starting out, that way my Pokemon last longer in battles (Oran, Sitrus).
I ditch berries once my Pokemon get to higher levels.

I don't ever attach items to my Pokemon unless they're Amulet Coins or Exp. Shares. Or the Power items.

Kakashi-Sharingan Warrior
23rd July 2009, 4:30 PM
With my main teams I do, with ingames and stuff - no

With actual competitive teams - Feraligatr has a persim berry, and Salamence has a yachi.

I don't attach berries on my Pokemon because I usually don't have the right ones and also because I let most of my team hold Leftovers.

King Edwin
23rd July 2009, 4:46 PM
I like using the berry that reduces ground type attacks on an Electric type, and i also like to use the berry that reduces Fighting type attacks on my PorygonZ. Cause for some reason ingame a lot of pokemon have focus blast and the computer never misses despite the fact that the move has only 70 accuracy. -_-

Melloyu
23rd July 2009, 5:07 PM
never put berries on my pokemon >_>
since you can use them only once

ShinyFrizo
23rd July 2009, 5:11 PM
nope. I use the berries for one thing, poffins. Nothing else. All I want is EVERY SINGLE RIBBON! >:)

shaymin
23rd July 2009, 6:27 PM
I prefer items over berries. Unless I'm sort on potions which I'm usually not

Charizard86
23rd July 2009, 7:15 PM
I only use certain berries if they are to cover a pokemon's 4x weakness eg: Salamence's 4x ice weakness. Other than that it's usually leftovers or other items.
