View Full Version : Most annoying kind of Rescue Missions?

For me, it would have to be the dreaded escort missions. Just today my stupid Nidorina escort lagged behind and tried to beat a Nidorino. Guess who failed that mission? >:( Needless to say, I hate escort missions with a passion. What are your least favorite rescue missions?

Escort missions, big time! When you fail a dungeon because you did a stupid thing or because you just can't handle the dungeon, I can deal with that. But if a frigging Charizard at the other side of a giant room uses Flamethrower, and hits the Parasect you're escorting, that's just plain annoying...

Escort missions, 100%. The client is usually extremely weak compared to other Pokemon on the level, and one move from an enemy is sometimes enough to kill them. They wander off on their own if they are too far away from you and you, and if there is a sleeping Pokemon in the room, if they have a move to do so, they will wake it up when all you want is to sneak by it. Escort missions are the ones I would always try to avoid because they are just that much trouble.

sometimes the delivery missions or the escort ones.
i seen delivery missions asking for life seeds, sitrus berries and joy seeds so i hate them.

everyone agrees! escort missions, escorting a level 7 pokemon through any dungeon sucks

^Or, in the case of PMD1, you're escorting a LV. 1 pokemon, which is even WORSE!

Escort missions, in my case. Sometimes it's okay, if you're in a more 'friendly' dungeon with reasonably lower level Pokemon than your lead and without the damaging weather conditions, but without those two conditions I sometimes find myself screwed by something as stupid as the escortee in question fainting from a few hits by Sandstorm or Hail, or the Pokemon I'm escorting him/her to fainting from weather. -_-

Escort Missions because the guy who you bring dies in one hit. To get to the 50F and lose on the 49F because he wandered off without noticing and died is just so annoying

Nothing, I like them all! As long as the missions aren't hard like escorting an Igglybuff to Floor 71 of Zero Island North to see the Golden Chamber =/

Try having a rescue mission in Northern Desert, the sandstorm always kills my clients before I could reach them so I had to have Sunny/Rainy orbs handy now >.<

i had to escort a volbeat to floor 87 in Lugia's place (forgotten name) the stupid escorts always waste your precious revival seeds, and then faint, which makes you lose the hold items (X-RAY SPECS) and half your other items!

lol 83.33% hate escorts!

I accidentally did just going to the floor to rescue them when I meant to do the escort one. Is there anyway to change it?

escort missions, first they waste items and then they die. that's how it goes.

sometimes the pokemon you're escorting can hold their own in a weak dungeon, but its the harder dungeons that cause the problems.

why do you think they need to be escorted? lol

and its especially annoying when the game makes an awesome pokemon the escorted (garchomp, metagross, alakazam, etc.), you think they could hold their own in any dungeon, i had to escort a blaziken through treeshroud forest, how pathetic does that make an awesome pokemon look?

Deliveries are better than escorts cause the items don't die. DDDDD:

But seriously...agree with everyone in here, the escorts are the worst. They require way too many items, especially Revival Seeds - I live on those, especially for more important missions. I've lost all kinds of important keys and etc. from escorts who were stupid enough to wake up powerful Pokemon.
I also find it hilarious when the enemy is awoken that they start attacking YOU.

do pokemon that need an item to be delivered take the item even if it's sticky?

they don't really need to be a certain floor, it asked me to get a TM from mespirits place on floor 10 and i found it on floor 2 and i passed the mission

Escort missions. I once used 13 revival seeds to get a magikarp to the 39th floor of Stormy Sea

Escort missions!

Bringing/finding an items is as simple as only taking missions that you already have the item for. Supposed to find an item? Take one with you from the start for a guaranteed pass.

But escort missions... why does the client have to leave your pack to go out and get itself stomped? There's been a few times where I've out loud called my client an idiot for wandering off and getting KO'd. It wouldn't be so bad if clients ran from fights, or stayed put on losing sight of you, but no, they have to actively go out and search for their own doom.

I wish they let us set tactics for clients, at least.

i was retarded one time and ran away from a monster house when it was only me and my client so when i left the room the client went in, didn't end well >.>

let's think about the negatives of Search 'n' Rescue missions, if there is bad weather on the floor the pokemon is on,the pokemon may faint if you can't find it on time.

^Simple solution. X-RAY SPECS :U

I think we have all agreed, escort missions. Having to escort a level 1/7 pokemon through a dungeon is not very nice, especialy as they always run off when you take too long to fight a pokemon in the way of the corridor. But if you Use X-Ray specs, you can tell if any pokemon are sneeking behing them, and decide to leave it 1 more turn to beat that pokemon, or to go back and save that poor magikarp.

Just keep a couple of Reviver seeds in your bag and wear some X-ray specs, and you'll be fine!

I'm going with the majority of these people & say the escort missions. TBH, they actually aren't that much of a problem early in the game, but once everything is done in the storyline, they become increasingly frustrating, as the escortees are weaker than even kittens - a stiff breeze will blow them away, much less the power that some of the Pokemon found in later dungeons are packing.

After that, I pretty much don't even look at them, as for me, the only ones that I find even remotely worthwhile are those Gold Chamber missions & those Secret Slab/Mystery Part ones.

those are the worst, or the dungeons where the client is like "hey whats dat?" and gets warp tile'd

i never take escort missions, and for the "new dungeon found, lets explore!" ones, i accept them to unlock the dungeon and then delete them.

i also hate retrieving items from aftermath enemies or when someone explodes near the item im supposed to retrieve...

I find it hilarous that people lose their items because their client got KO'd.
You could just turn off your game, you know. And you would (Oh magic!) keep your items.

goldgolem

here is a tip to protect your clients:

bring a team member or two and have their tactic set on "go after foes" so that your members will head towards any threat that comes by or lurks in a room.

another tip:

if you have a pokemon that can attack enemies from 2 tiles away or has a monster-house move( an attack that can attack any pokemon in the current room you're in), you can bring them along to ease the chances of an enemy damaging your client.

and final tip(obvious one though):

bring reviver seeds! in case your client faints.

I hate escort missions. 'Nuff said.

Jeez, you'd think"Oh, they say they are quite weak, they'll listen to what you say if they want to meet someone/find something." But no. They INSIST on being brats who we have to spoil and chase to ensure that the mission succeeds. I absolutely HATED one escort mission where I had to escort Doduo(Run Away activated).

Heres a little story pikachu wants escort me is charizard LV.100 itake pikachu to floor just before the one he wants to go to enemy two squares away from me before this pikachu used agility loads a times and now at full speed I use flamethrower pikachu steps in front of me thanks to speed pikachu gets knocked out by me So much irony i faint the end.

Stock on your entire bag on Reviver Seeds, you get halfway there and all of your seeds are used. Or even worse, the pokemon you are escorting actually tries to fight another one. They suck big time.

Escort missions, especially if it's a Teleporter like Kadabra. Oh, my God, one time I was escorting a Kadabra, it stepped on a PP-Zero Trap and lost all its PP for Teleport! I was cheering at the game for my luck!

Anyway, escorts are a pain, but I hoard Reviver Seeds, so I'm good.

Escort Missions, or missions involving you to bring items. I hate escort missions because I usually forget about my client, and they get killed, and I hate to do the item missions because it's usually I don't have that item, it's an item I don't want to give up, or I forget to bring the item with me into the dungeon >.>

Finding items on a certain floor is not hard and delivering an item to a pokemon is not hard either just take one from your box. This is a really helpful place I never thought of using sunny and rainy orbs on rescue missions with orbs and the x ray specs tip was helpful as well. In time I once went into a dungeon with all my money on accident because I went on a shopping spree and I fainted; _;. On darkness I koed my own partner pokemon during the main story line using thrash I was really unlucky since thrash does 54 damage a hit and it hit my partner twice.

not all escort missions are bad never do them in a extremelly hard dungeon like zero island. I actually do escorts in rayquaza's dungeon only if its below 70 floors

Escort missions. Mostly because every since Pokemon I have escorted has had the mental capacity of a bucket of retarded wallpaper paste.

Escorts still win in general for me, due to the poor AI, and their tendency to wander off at odd intervals sometimes. However, I have also found a certain dislike for the Outlaw mission where the outlaw tries to run as soon as you spot them. Usually because my luck has the stairs like within five steps of where you (and they) start. >.> I once had one spawn one step away from the staircase. Luckily, I had a Stun Seed in my inventory so I could move over to get onto the stairs at my leisure, but still. Blah.
