Good evening,

It's been a VERY long while since I last posted. Recently, I got back into the Pokemon TCG and decided to try my hand at a Modified deck. I would appreciate any and all advice that you, the fellow readers, could provide me. Just remember that for all intents and purposes, I am a "noob" and am not familiar with the strategies employed by true competitive decks.

So without further adeau:

Darkness Deck:

TOTAL Pokemon: 22

Stage 2 / Stage 1 + Level X: 4

2x Drapion Lv. X - Pt
2x Tyranitar - SF

Stage 1 / Basic + Level X: 6

2x Darkrai Lv. X - GE
2x Drapion - SF
2x Pupitar - SF

Basic: 12

2x Darkrai - GE
3x Larvitar - SF
4x Sableye - SF
3x Skorupi - SF

TOTAL Trainers: 14

Normal Trainers: 6

1x Luxury Ball - SF
3x Poke Healer + - SF
2x Premier Ball - GE

Supporters: 7

1x Bebe's Search
3x Roseanne's Research - POP 8
3x Team Galactic's Mars - SW

Stadiums: 1

Moonlight Stadium - GE

TOTAL Energy: 24

20 Darkness Energy - Basic - DP
4 Darkness Energy - Special - MT

-------------------

As you can see, this is a "pure" darkness deck. I have attempted to do a little of everything: Sleep, Poison, Paralysis, Spread Damage, Power Damage, Hand Disruption. As a side note, I have only 3 "evolutionary chains" (I consider Darkrai Lv. X as part of the chain since it needs Darkrai in order to come into play just like any Stage 1 PKMN needs it's Basic PKMN in order to come into play).

Well there you have it. Feel free to rip me a new one.

Hope you don't mind I change it to a T-tar Deck

Darkness Deck:

4x Tyranitar SF
3x Pupitar SF
4x Larvitar SF
1x Darkrai Lv.X GE
1x Darkrai GE
4x Sableye - SF
2x Sneasel DP
2x Weavile SW
2x Baltoy GE
2x Claydol GE

1x Luxury Ball - SF
2x Premier Ball - GE
3x Bebe's Search
3x Roseanne's Research
3x Felicity Drawing
1x Moonlight Stadium - GE
1x Broken Time Space

*I forget some*

10 Darkness Energy - Basic
4 Darkness Energy - Special
2 Call Energy

-------------------

These is 1 of the best deck...

If you want to combine both Drapion and t-tar ..I can't help you there

I had Drapion only for support via Tri-Poison, so it's no big loss.
I do have a few questions about your changes though:

1) Why is the Tyranitar line 4-3-4? Wouldn't 2-3-3 be more efficient?

2) Aside from it's Poke-Power, what's the purpose of Claydol? Considering the number of Supporters & 4 Sableye, I believe I have enough draw power.

3) Isn't having 4 "evolution lines" a bit much?

4) Are the purposes of this deck to provide the player with Hand Advantage while simultaneously causing Hand Disruption for the opponent?

1 - The list i did was for T-tar as main attacker
2 - Almost every deck run claydol purely for it's power nothing else..Turst me ..i tried a t-tar deck..and there's time when you'll need claydol.

3- Nope..for main attacker

4 - and Disruption for the opponent..I won't say that...the list I made was for T-tar spread

So if I understand correctly:
1. It's important in the metagame to get your main attacker even if it sacrifices efficiency (4-3-4)

2. Draw power (Claydol) is a necessity.

If so, then would the following work as well:

Darkness Deck:

TOTAL Pokemon: 20

Stage 1 / Basic + Level X: 6

2x Darkrai Lv. X
2x Honchkrow

2x Claydol - GE

Basic: 14

2x Darkrai - GE4
2x Honchkrow G
3x Murkrow
1x Sableye - SF
2x Sableye G

1x Aerodactyl GL
2x Baltoy - GE
1x Purugly G

TOTAL Trainers: 17

Normal Trainers: 6

1x Luxury Ball
3x Poke Healer +
2x Premier Ball

Supporters: 10

1x Bebe's Search
3x Cyrus's Initiative
3x Roseanne's Research
3x Team Galactic's Mars

Stadiums: 1

Moonlight Stadium

Energy: 23

19 Darkness Energy - Basic
4 Darkness Energy - Special

-----------------

The deck would provide massive Draw Power, Hand Disruption, and a little bit of sniping.

The main attacker is Darkrai Lv. X.
Although I like Honchkrow Lv. X's 40 snipe and 60 + potential card, the main purpose of the deck is hand disruption.

Sadly, I tested both variants out against a "LuxApe" deck I modified...
0-5 was the best it managed :(.

Luckilly, I learned many things from constructing the LuxApe deck which I intend to apply to my next deck. Thanks for all your help Shadow.
