Welcome to the LEGOŽ Brick Fan Club! This is where those who enjoy playing with LEGOŽ bricks can share their latest creations, comics, and have a fun time talking about LEGOŽ bricks!

Quick History of LEGOŽ Bricks:

The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt",
meaning "play well". It’s our name and it’s our ideal.

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen.
The Company has passed from father to son and is now owned
by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder.

It has come a long way over the past almost 80 years -
from a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise
that is now, in terms of sales, the world’s fifth-largest manufacturer of toys.

I would like to join! My favorite lego set is... oh god, it's so hard too choose! xD
I would have to say my favorite set that I own is probably the "7676 Republic Attack Gunship"(the newer Clone Wars style one). I did have the older one, but I customized it after a while and now it's taken apart so I can make a RGS more like the newer set.
I have been playing with legos since I was about 3 or 4 years old, and I'm under a month away from 18 now.

Nice choice, mine is also a Star Wars set, mine is 7143 (Jedi Starfighter) I've had it for years now and it's still my favorite. (it was also my first LEGO set). Hey no ones ever to old for LEGO sets!

Haha, the first JSF set. I had that one too, but I took it part and built other things with the parts. :P
I really want the "7661 Jedi Starfighter" largely due to the fact the it come with a Kit Fisto minifig. ;p

I'm starting a discussion topic...

A good list for a quick over look is Brickipedia's list (http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_themes) of set themes.
After going over it for a little bit make me reminisce about my younger Lego years in mid to late 90's.
I feel a particular affinity for these sets as they were what I started with and grew up on.
I still have a lot of the instruction books from these older sets.
Peeron.com (http://www.peeron.com/) seem to have a more exstensive but more systematic list.

EDIT: After some browsing around Brickipedia, I discovered Brickset.com (http://www.brickset.com/) which is an online database of all legos, present and past.
I'm surprised I've never seen this before. >.<

Wow thanks for the links! On peeron I looked at the inventory and I've seen well over half the pieces there that I just ignored thinking they didn't belong to it! Thanks again! :)

well, Anakin/Darth Vader is my favorite character, so i wanted the set. Do you play with your legos or just collect them? I play as Darth Vader.

LegendaryGarchomp

A bit of both, actually just yesterday I created a little re-enactment of the Sword in the Stone. Some like my fireboat though I'll just keep on display since you can't really play with them.

I also do a bit of both. Some of my bigger sets usually sit on selves unless I'm in the mood to play with them.
But I do like actually playing with my legos. I have many custom minifigs(mostly Star Wars based). I've been busy with school lately and haven't given them much attention though. :(

Also, I think I'll post a link my my Brickshelf account (or maybe it was on MOCpages).

I too mostly just put my larger sets on display.

New Topic: Do you mix your sets?

Some yes some no. Sets that have pieces with stickers, rare pieces, or cost over $50 i won't the rest I will though.

Lucario7777777

Do You Mix Sets?
I usually do, except not for a long time. And big sets, such as the police station[$90] which I have don't get taken apart[much.] I took a couple things from the police station to make my own castle.

Zameric
26th December 2009, 8:16 PM
Do you mix your sets?
Eh, not a lot. I have a big storage tub full of miscellaneous lego pieces, a lot from old sets I used to have. (and it's very heavy xD)
Then I have another tub with legos set that are still for the most part intact, but I just don't have space for. xD

Here (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Zameric) is my Brickshelf account. Not much on there because I need to take some new pictures of everything.
I was also thinking of scanning all the instruction booklets I have, because I never threw out one on purpose, just to show them off. xD

None. But my birthday is January 8th. >D

I got 2!
8402 Sports Car
and
8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack

Zameric
28th December 2009, 6:27 AM
The Clone Walker Battle Pack would be a good set to get for my Episode 2 style clone troop. xD
For my Episode 3 style clone troop, I have them using my RGS set, with a Pilot Battle Droid as the pilot and a clone pilot as the gunner/other pilot. I guess they both serve as gunner/pilot and switching off on duties as the need arises. XD

Hello LegendaryDragonite. :)
Are you related to the club's owner, LegendaryGarchomp? xD

I think the set he is talking about is "7743 Police Command Center (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7743-1)". That is a pretty neat set.

Lucario7777777
29th December 2009, 3:40 AM
Oh, the big police vehicle. I thought he meant the police station. I was talking about the police station earlier.

Zameric
6th January 2010, 5:22 PM
Well yesterday, I got my Lego Magazine for January 2010. There are a few new themes and new sets of already existing themes.

To start off, I'll talk about the new Atlantis theme. link (http://atlantis.lego.com/en-US/Products/Default.aspx)
I have to say that this seems like a pretty decent theme. The divers have interesting and neat looking vehicles with a design that I have only seen similarities in custom sets.
The minifigs are neat too. The divers' new scuba head piece thing is a cool. The new head molds for the squid/manta/shark man is very neat and are great for making new custom minifigs.

Next I'll go onto the Toy Story theme. link (http://www.lego.com/ToyStory/en-us/Products/Default.aspx)
Ok, now I'm surprised it took them this long to get into the Toy Story movies.
The sets are well built and the minifig designs are just awesome.
I really love the 7595 - Army Men on Patrol (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7595-1)
I think this is a perfect theme for kids, especially if they have watched the Toy Story movies. It could also be good for older fans too. ;p

Now I'll move onto Space Police. link (http://spacepolice.lego.com/en-us/products/default.aspx)
This is another set with very interesting vehicles and new minifigs that would be great for customizing.
I've seen preview for other set around the internet and this theme looks promising. :)

Hmm, Ben 10: Alien Force is another new theme. link (http://ben10.lego.com/en-us/Products/Default.aspx)
When I first heard about this theme a few months ago, I was hoping it was gonna a bunch of cool new minifigs.
But I was kind of disappointed when I found out they were just gonna be Technics.
I guess it's a lot easier to do it that way, but I'm just more into traditional sets and minifigs.
I wonder if they'll go and make versions of the first ten aliens from Ben 10.

The last thing I'm going to talk about is some of the new Star Wars lego sets. link (http://starwars.lego.com/en-us/Products/Default.aspx)
Now if you don't already know, this is my favorite theme. It's one of the few themes that has produced some much for this product. The 8092 - Luke's Landspeeder (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8092-1) very much reminds me of the landspeeder from the 4501 - Mos Eisley Cantina (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=4501-1) set. For US$25, I don't not think this set is worth it unless you don't have the Mos Eisley Cantina set already.
I really really really reeeally want a 8085 - Freeco Speeder (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8085-1)! Now US$25 for this does seem a bit pricey, but lego sets seem to have always been I guess. I love this thing so much that I would readily pay the price.
Lastly, the 8087 - TIE Defender (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8087-1) is a really great set for TIE collecters. I'm sure this will be a very popular set in the next few months. ;p (I'll post a video I viewed a little while ago that showed off the features of this set)

Great reviews!

I've seen quite a few of the Toy Story sets and they look pretty cool. I'll probably pick one up for my little brothers' friend who happes to love LEGO and Toy Story.

Space Police I've never cared much for. It just doesn't appeal to me.

I thought the Ben 10 theme would be really cool when I first heard about it, but when I saw what they'd look like I was really dissapointed. In my opinion they would have been a lot cooler as mini-figs.

The Star Wars sets seem pretty cool as well. I just saw the new TIE-Fighter about week ago and it looks great! I'd love to add it to my collection.

I finally got the 8085 - Freeco Speeder (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8085-1).
I was at Walmart and got Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Wii and a Freeco Speeder set, with some of my birthday money.
I didn't know the lightsaber hilt had changed from a chrome silver to a metalic silver.

My cousin has the same game, I played it for awhile and it's a cool game. I'll probably buy it.

Sorry I haven't posted here in a while.

I like really like the Freeco Speeder set, except for the way that the minifig sits in the cockpit is kind of awkward.

I've finished all the levels on story mode, on Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga.
It's a very fun game and incorporates and combines features from the first two games wonderfully.
The ability to swing the Wiimote and do a lightsaber slash is neat, but I usually just use the B button. xD
I really like a lot of the new unlockable extras they added in, like Poo Money(when used with Fertilizer), Character Studs, and Exploding Blaster Bolts.

Yeah, I really like how they gave the extra toggle droids blaster weapons.
At least now they aren't completely useless and slow.
It's kind of fun shooting the Jawas right before they get to zap you. XD

Yay, the Lego Club is alive again! xD

You did a pretty good job on your Japanese Restaraunt MOC, LegendaryGachomp. :)
I like the chef and kitchen area, and the bird on the roof is a nice touch.

I guess I'll post one of my MOC's too. It's a customized Jedi Star Fighter (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=412840) for my version of Luke Skywalker.
Not much to show with those old pictures, but I will take some new soon.
The trans-black tiles on the wings are solar panels that are used to run the secondary systems since it uses another energy source for fuel.
Idk enough about SW to make up something, but I'll do that later too. ><

Sorry that I haven't been posting here much. I have been and will be busy with school work for about the next month.
This is my last year of high school, so once it's over I will have tons more time for Legos and my other hobbies.
So After the school year, I will probably taken new pictures of all my legos.

Here (http://www.fbtb.net/2010/04/12/new-lego-survey/) is a post on FBTB.net that talks about a "New LEGO Survey."

LegendaryGarchomp

I added some more ranks to the club, idea came from Zameric.

Also, what would you guys think of us having our own forum?
