This thread is the worst thread on the forum and is a complete detriment to everything intelligent. But, since I suppose there's no getting rid of it anytime soon, we can at least make some ground rules for the thread.

1) All SPPf general rules apply. Obvious enough, no double-posting, spamming, mini-modding, or any stupid stuff like that.
2) No flaming. Do not flame people for their ideas or anything like that, or you'll get in big trouble. Remember, the report button exists for a reason, and if there's something REALLY out of hand, pm a moderator of the section or an active supermod/admin.
3) Make substantial posts. This includes, but is not limited to:
-No quoting a post just to say "I agree." If you agree with someone else and want to discuss their idea, elaborate. Just saying you agree with them is spam.
-No one-liners or posts without any substance. We're not going to do a strict 3 sentences quota like HgSs, but if your post doesn't really contribute anything, you'll probably be infracted.
-Don't post the same ideas over and over again. Post your idea once and be done with it. You can discuss things further, but if no one replied to your idea the first time, they won't reply to it again. Note that if a new thread is started and you posted in the old thread, you may bring up the same idea again, but other than that, don't do it.
4) Don't post false rumors. If you have a picture you think might be real, first check and see it hasn't already been proven false, like the many fake starters, fake farfetch'd/delibird evo, etc. If you don't see that it's already been proven false, then post the source where you found the image before posting it.

Speculate away, but do so intelligently if you don't want to be infracted

Being able to customize your character should be in the game.
Pokémon should follow you again, but this would be a given option.

Is this a wish list as well? Just wondering why you made a new one when the old one was ok.

Well as the title is speculation, I don't think they will add a new evolution method. If they do then it will be overkill on that note, if they do add one then it might be something along the lines of "you battle this type of pokemon and you evolve".

Edit; Above poster, on the other hand if they add in customizable characters then there won't be enough room on the cartridge for a bigger game and the other "stuff"

Some new methods for split-evolving they could use in Gen 5:

1) How about . . . Version-Based Evolution?

Something found in both games that, if in Black Version evolves into one thing, but becomes something else in White Version. In-game a character could say the evolution is based on the trainer's aura or something.
There are already other version-exclusives, so it wouldn't be "too hard" to get. You'd just have to trade with someone to get the one that evolves in the other game.

What would you get in the 3rd game? They could make it the Black evolution if your ID# is odd, and the White evolution if it is even.

2) Location evolution more on the lines of Burmy (but becoming a split evo, not just a different form). If in a cave/dessert becomes Pokemon A, while Surfing/in snow becomes Pokemon B, on a normal route/forest becomes Pokemon C, in cities/buildings/elsewhere becomes Pokemon D.

As precedent, they've had leveling up on a specific route create split-evos for Leafeon and Glaceon, and have had the female Burmy split into different Wormadam forms based on the surrounding area it last battled in.

No, there'll still be plenty of space. It's been gone over many times in the B&W Confirmed Info thread, but the sprites requires for customization takes a very small fraction of memory compared to all the other stuff in the games. In addition, a DS game card has a capacity of 512 MB, but HGSS, for instance, used only 128 MB. There's plenty of unused space they can utilise.

Okay then, here a form of Pokemon I'd like to see. I was thinking of natural enemies, like Zangoose and Seviper, when I considered a Hyena and a Cheetah. These animals often play off agains one another in the wild, with the Cheetah being one of the smaller cats and the Hyena having similar strength.

As we now have a proper speculation thread and after reading the rules for this thread, I'm gonna quote myself to re-post my theory for the new region:

There is strong speculation so far about the new region being based on the Chuugoku-Shikoku region of Japan (also called Chuushikoku).

I was trying to put together everything that was discussed so far, what I was thinking about and sort of a tour through this Japanese region.

It would follow Gen III in the fashion that Hoenn is based on the Kyuushuu-Okinawa region.

Talking about the geographical data of Japan, Chuugoku-Shikoku is a little bigger in area, but a little less populated than Kyuushuu. And it's a lot smaller in area, but a lot more more populated than Hokkaidou (which Sinnoh is based on).

Here is how it would fit:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ja/a/ad/ChugokuShikoku-region_Small.png http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a2/Pokemonworld.png http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g255/sfirah/chuushikoku.png

The Chuugoku region is often separated this way, in a reference of the Yin/Yang:

The San'in region, the northern or shady side of the Chuugoku mountain range
It consists of the Shimane, Tottori and the north part of Yamaguchi prefectures.

The San'yo region, the southern and sunny side of the mountains.
It consists of Okayama, Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures.

The Yin/Yang itself could be a possible reference of the Black & White of the game titles, as it represents a balance between seemingly contrary forces and describes how they are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other in turn. It's NOT a good vs evil conflict. And it's represented by this symbol, the Taijitu:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7c/Yin_and_Yang.svg/220px-Yin_and_Yang.svg.png

There’s a screen in which we can see a two-tiered bridge. There is a very famous two-tiered bridge in the Chuugoku-Shikoku region, the Seto Bridge, that is 13.1km (or 8.1 miles) long:

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/bridge.png http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/GreatSetoBridge2.jpg

CHUUGOKU

--Shimane Prefecture--

Home of the Izumo-taisha in Izumo, near the capital Matsue. It is one of the most ancient and important shrines (considered to be the 2nd most important) in Japan and where Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun and one of the principal Shinto deities, is enshrined.

Susanoo, the god of sea and storms, the brother of Amaterasu who slayed the dragon Yamato no Orochi in japanese mithology, is also enshrined close to Matsue, in Yakumo.

The capital, Matsue, sits between Lake Shinji (which curiously is the name of Lake Verity in the japanese version) and Nakaumi - a salt water lake with a volcanic island, the Daikon Island, with lave tubes - along the banks of the Ohashi river connecting the two. Due to the prominence of the lakes, the river and canals in the city-scape and scenery it is sometimes called the "water city".

In the city of Ota, there was the Iwami Ginzan, a silver mine, and nowadays it’s a World Heritage Site.

There is also an archipelago on the coast of Shimane called the Oki Islands.

My thoughts:

A big and important shrine should obviously be on the game and maybe using the mythology of Amaterasu or Susanoo and Orochi as a part of the game.

I’d like to see some sort of Orochi legendary. Maybe a Psychic-type Gym could fit the city, as of the importance of the Shinto shrines in this area.
The silver mine could be used as a mine/cave dungeon.

--Tottori Prefecture--

Near Tottori city, capital of the prefecture, there are the Tottori Sand Dunes, considered to be the only desert in Japan. The prefecture coast is famous for the bluefin tuna. Also, the highest mountain in Chuugoku is in this prefecture, the Daisen, which is a volcanic mountain.

Bordering the prefecture and the second highest of the Chuugoku Mountains is the Mount Hyono (which means literally Ice Mountain).

My thoughts:

A desert area near a city with a Ground-type Gym.

The Daisen could be the Victory Road, while Mount Hyono could be an Ice-type cave.

--Yamaguchi Prefecture--

It is home to the Akiyoshi Plateau, where you can find the Akiyoshi Cave, a wide, spacious and full of passages. A common visiting place.

In Iwakuni city, there's a beautiful bridge with five linked wooden arches leading to a castle. Kintai Bridge is one of the Japan's three famous bridges.

The immediate surroundings are noted for their cherry blossom and it's one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan.

North of Yamaguchi prefecture, on the Japan Sea, stands Oumijima, known as the Sea Alps, as there are sharp stone columns thrusting out of the ocean and sheer cliffs with ocean caves.

The Yamaguchi prefecture is really close to the Kyuushuu region (Hoenn’s real world counterpart) and it is only separated by a stretch of water called the Kanmon Straits. On the Chuugoku side of the straits is the city of Shimonoseki.

Accessible via ferry from Shimonoseki stands Ganryuujima, an island famous for the duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirou (the samurai that the Japanese names of Jessie and James – Musashi and Kojirou – are based on).

My thoughts:

The Akiyoshi plateau is a possible place for a Safari Zone in a game. And there should be a cave area.

A city based on Shimonoseki, with a tall tower or lighthouse, could lead on lots of connections with Hoenn and possibly hint at a future remake of Gen III games.

--Hiroshima Prefecture--

Hiroshima city is the capital of the prefecture. A world famous city for being the target of the first atomic bomb during World War II. It's a metropolis, quickly and strongly rebuilt after the bomb incident, but also has museums and ruins, like the Genbaku Dome in the Peace Memorial Park, left to show the scars of the past.

The city is often linked with the Yakuza (Japanese mafia), thanks to many famous yakuza movies taking place in Hiroshima.

The Itsukushima shrine on the island of Miyajima stands in the Inland Sea, really close to Hiroshima, and the tides makes it looks like it’s floating sometimes.

My thoughts:

Hiroshima is a very likely candidate for being the city represented in the screen with the big city surrounded with water.

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/city.png

The historic ruins in Hiroshima could be a place where you find Ghost Pokémon. Also, as it is as big city and often linked to the yakuza, so it’s a good guess for the headquarters of the evil team, or even to have the awaited Dark-type Gym.

There should be an area based on Miyajima, with Stantler in it, as there are lots of deers roaming freely through the island.

--Okayama Prefecture--

The capital of the Okayama prefecture is Okayama city, linked through the Marine Liner, the train that rides on the Seto Bridge aforementioned, to Takamatsu, the capital of Kagawa, in Shikoku.

It's famous as the setting of the japanese fable Momotarou, about a boy that appeared from within a peach and later would befriend a dog, a pheasant and a monkey on a quest to the Oni (demon/ogre) island. This island is associated with Megijima, an Inland Sea island near Takamatsu. The caves at the top of the island is said to be where the Oni lived.

My thoughts:

I could see some Pecha Berry trees around here.

The Seto Bridge linking the two landmasses could be a Cycling Road or something similar.

I think it is an interesting idea to have a Fire-type Gym, with a gym leader with a name like Momoko/Momoka (as momo is peach in Japanese) having a Torchic, Monferno and Houndoom (to reference the Pheasant, Monkey and Dog from the fable).

SHIKOKU

--Kagawa Prefecture--

The capital, Takamatsu, is the one mentioned above. It is where one of the most famous and most beautiful historical parks in Japan can be found, the Ritsurin Park.

My thoughts:

As for the island near Takamatsu mentioned before, there could be a cave and maybe some event in which you should take 3 specific Pokémon in your party. Could that be the use for the shiny beasts from Movie 13?

The park could be the forest you run into early in the game.

--Ehime Prefecture--

Famous for its citric fruits and responsible for a substantial fraction of Shikoku's electricity, specially from Ikata's nuclear power plant and wind farms.

The capital, Matsuyama, is famous for the hot springs, of which there is the Dogo Onsen, the oldest hot spring bath house in Japan.

My thoughts:

A city with a nearby power plant filled with Electric-type Pokémon.

--Kochi Prefecture--

The prefecture has a generally small commercial scale and its industries are generally based upon utilizing the natural resources found within the prefecture.

Sakamoto Ryoma is a really famous samurai born in Kochi and was a leader of the movement to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate during the Bakumatsu period in Japan. A Meiji Restoration hero.

On the coast village of Usa, in Kosa, stands the world famous Usa Marine Biological Institute, one of the oldest and largest marine biology research centers in Japan.

My thoughts:

The starting town could be around here on the southern tip of the region, being the home of the protagonist and the professor's lab.

I was thinking of having the town of Shimanto as the starting town and Kochi as the professor's lab town, but as seen in the starting town screen, there is a big shadow on the top part, possibly being the lab.

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/town.png

--Tokushima Prefecture--

The Iya Valley is a scenic area known for its dramatic mountain valleys and old vine bridges. There lies the second-highest peak on Shikoku, the Mount Tsurugi.

My thoughts:

Cianwood City in Johto is based on Naruto, a city on the northeastern tip of Shikoku that is part of the Tokushima prefecture.

I really don't know how could they handle that. Put a natural barrier to separate what is Johto and what is the new region.

So, this is how I picture the region. Remember, this is SPECULATION:

Sorry for the lack of a proper map and links to articles and photos, I got lazy.

I like that idea of a few location-based evolutions, but they should limit such Pokemon, or the idea will soon run stale. An overall more focus on location would be a realistic touch imo, for example introducing environmental effects which power up moves and/or induce different effects based on the location.

Also, I'm curious as to why the previous thread was locked?

My list of what I want.

1. A Dark-type gym.
2. A Bug-type legendary (hopefully an Electric/Bug combination)
3. Hatred based evolutions. (I cannot stress this enough, having this could open up a bunch of potential doors for new pokemon)
4. New Dragon type combinations. (Leaf/Dragon, Ice/Dragon, etc....)
5. A Ghost type Eeveelution.
6. A polar bear pokemon (Ice/Fight)
7. A pure flying type.
8. A Mantine evo
8. A Combee male evo

3. I think that kind of goes against the very concept of Pokémon. The trainer/pokémon bond that makes both grow together and such.
9. The thing about only female Combee evolving is a nice touch relating to real world bees, where males don't have much importance in hierarchy. I don't think there will ever be an male Combee evo.

Well, they've had Camouflage, Nature Power, and Secret Power dealing with the battle's environment, so it seems like they could have more to do with this (beyond location-evolve). Abilities? Advantages for certain types?

Longer post-Elite 4 story. The Battle Frontier is nice, but a storyline after the credits roll would be better.

Or at the very least, extend the Team Whatever plot after the last gym. I find it annoying that you can't fight the 8th gym until you beat Team Whatever's plot (with random excuses too, from the Gym being inexplicably locked in R/S/E if you went there before awakening Groudon/Kyogre to a power outage and a Ragecandy salesman who wants you to sight-see). The plot continued into the 8th Gym with Giovanni, but you still had the locked gym first.

After fighting Team Whatever, having just a gym match and the E4 to go seems anticlimactic.

There is some major potential for them to redesign Victory Road here.

Example, once you collect all 8 badges, you meet at a gate with all 8 gym leaders. They give you their blessings and they give you one final challenge before you battle against the Elite 4. A multi stage path with 8 different zones.

It would never work, as it would be quite impossible for the game to remain balanced and updated for every player.

But as far as game development goes, I strongly believe most of them do search for feedback and ideas discussing and lurking through their fanbase.

Some how it offended someone somewhere. It wasn't up to someone's standard. It smelled funny. It was too big/too small/too cinnamon. The wrong person created it. It was racist.

Go ahead and pick one of those or make up your own.

---------------------------------------------------

For once, I'd like to see some dedication to making each version separate from the other. More than just having version-exclusive Pokemon or a different Bad Guy team, there needs to be a different plot, different starting experience, different path to complete the game, different characters, different everything. Different, different, different.

I do hope this follows the rules. Quoted from the old thread.

I'd rather not see too many evolutions or pre-evolutions, first off. We don't need all three-stage evolutionary lines, please focus on the main meat of the game- the new Pokemon! Treat it like Hoenn. It only had, what, Azurill and Wynaut? And more pure Steel types, please. Mawile and Registeel= not enough.

We need a Dark type gym by now, desperately. We've had three generations of the Dark type, but no gym. I presume this is because of how evil teams use it- but that hasn't stopped the Poison Gymleaders!

Having played through HG/SS I also want most of the maingame Pokemon to be from the B/W region. We saw too many Kanto Pokemon in Johto; you are unable to get Houndour before beating the E4, but you can get Growlithe, Vulpix and Magmar. It's not fair on the new gen's Pokemon. I also hope the version exclusives complement each other in terms of look, type and placing. They've been good so far, but you never know.

If there is a BF, I'd love to see a Battle Arena, Pike or Pyramid. Out of the Gen IV facilities, my fave was the Castle. Factory and Tower are givens no matter what so I won't even bother to ask.

The returning Pokemon... it is easy to tell which ones from Kanto and Johto will be probably definitely returning due to Nat. Dex patterns and whatnot. Hoenn is slightly harder, because so far we only have Sinnoh to go on, and even then it depends on whether or not the DP Dex or the PlatDex is the 'real' one. I personally think it's the PlatDex, but hey.

From Gen IV, I'd love to see the Snover line and the Drifloon line. Also, Spiritomb, Stunky, Bronzor, and Combee. They're all really neat. Actually, I kinda like all the Gen IV Pokemon, but I think that would be too much optimism. I definitely don't want wild starters, though.

And definitely not a Dragon-type final starter evo. Think of how unbalanced the trio would be. By this I mean Fire->Fire->Fire/Dragon, or something similarly ridiculous. And no Dark/Psychic/Fighting either. It's not very effective when the triangle is reversed, not not effective at all.

And no customizable trainers. You can do this on next-unimaginative-console battling game. The trainer is just a blank slate. They don't need a lot of work put into their appearance. They'd have to make overworld and in-battle sprites as well. Too much memory would be taken up by that.

Is this OK?

The previous thread was locked because it was created hastily and didn't have specific rules set up in the first post. We figured it would be unfair to infract people for one-liners, quoting posts and saying "I agree" and other similar spammy things if we didn't specifically prohibit them, so a new thread was made specifically prohibiting those. Something that was completely pointless that I'd actually like to see returned was the badge case from DPPt. I really like when games include little things that have no effect on the outcome of a game, but just add a little more character. Seriously, I was almost obsessed with polishing my badges.

I loved the Battle Frontier. I didn't enjoy the Castle as much, but the Factory, Arcade, and Stage were fun because of the different battle styles. It gave battling a few unique options. It's similar to the reason I'd like to see the return of Contests and the Pokethalon. I appreciate having more to do with my pokemon than 'walk to town, destroy gym, walk to next town'.

I liked having your pokemon follow you a lot too. For both of the reasons previously mentioned.

Instead of a lot of evolutions to bring old pokemon up to par with the new ones, please just re-balance stats or add new mechanics that make the old pokemon worthwhile. The game has always talked about how you should use your favorite pokemon and not worry about strong or weak pokemon, but seriously, this can be next to impossible. You shouldn't have to be twenty levels higher than the Champion to have a chance at beating him/her simply because of your choice of pokemon.

And, although I do not actually expect to see it, I would LOVE to see a more puzzle/mystery aspect to the game's plot. Instead of the main plot moments being dictated by walking up to the appropriate NPC and having them notice you and start blabbering, put a few logic puzzles in. You find a note dropped Team X grunt and have to figure out who to take it to. That kind of thing.

2. New moves (i can't even tell you how much i'd like to see this)
3. A fairly large amount of new pokemon (at least 100+)
4. And something that i've wanted since the 3rd generation (Possibly a new type!!!, i was thinking possibly LIGHT type pokemon, which i would REALLY like to see.)
5. New additions to the battle frontier
6. Any other new features are welcome!

Wow another speculation thread? Aw well, I hope for a new gym cycle, no more rock gym first, and the water, electric, and fighting gyms need a rest. Aw yeah. Dark type gym. That'd be sick.
I, for one, want more evolutions. I also want a lot more new Pokemon as well, but I love seeing new evolutions.
I think new types would be really dumb at this point. Maybe insted of Pokemon having 2 types, maybe putting in sub-types. Like, idk. Hopefully some one knows what I mean. Haha.
Um, Pokemon sprite actions anyone? I want my Salamances mouth to open when he's shooting fire. Or his claw to move when he's, um, clawing.
MORE WIFI EVENTS!!!! A lot more! Like, at least one or two all the time. I love WiFi events.
More story. . . No more "Teenage boy/girl leaves home, battles gyms, battles Team Whosit, battles Elite Four, becomes champian. THE END." I want a less shallow story.

*edit*
The ability to become a gym leader. I think that would be amazing. And you can custumize your own gym, pick your own gym trainers, and disign your own badge. But you can do more then just sit and wait for the next trainer. Like go train and stuff, or like, idk. I think its not gonna happen, but a cool idea.

I've had an idea for a new Battle Frontier Facility. The Battle Court! In Battles in the Battle Court, you have a time limit to choose which action your Pokémon will take (attack, switch). As you advance the time limit gets tighter.

I want a new type. Specifically, a Light type but after being told "Dark" type is actually fighting dirty in Japan which is opposite of the "Fighting" type, a Light type would be pointless. I want a Cosmic type where extraterrestrial Pokemon would fall under this category. Deoxys could gain this type.

Thus why I love the Dark type! Although I would like to see a few more moves that have some interesting secondary effects. Taunt and Torment are great starts, let's see some more damaging attacks with interesting side effects though.

Something I forgot to mention earlier. Downloadable content! I see they're starting to do this with the Ranger games. Downloadable quests and story arcs would be awesome! A great way to extend the game post E4.

1) A long plot line before and after the elite 4, depending on the legendary pokemon which will be featured.

2) Depending on server space and fan support, more regular wi-fi events, not necessarily for legendaries, but for shiny ordinary pokemon with certain moves that cannot be learnt in the game, as for time factor, it should last maybe for 2 weeks, varied.

3)In-game achievements, more variety, by getting a vertain amount of achievements, this should permit players to gain access to extra areas/bonuses, or legendary pokemon etc.

4) Battle frontier, more facilities and perhaps rewarding top-level trainers a platinum symbol, much higher than gold.

5) Wifi ranking matches, initially there is a tendency for losers to D/C, perhaps demote them if such a thing were to happen. There should be lots of ranks as well as a regular leaderboard update, and perhaps that should be split region wise as well as a global leaderboard, displaying No.Wins/Loss/win.percentage

6) More diverse pokemon abilities.

7) being my favourite, must have an evo, or as one of the mods pointed out in a chat a few days ago, iron fist ability should do 150% extra dmg rather than 120.

Ok, you're right, but let me clarify what I mean a little more. Yes there were a few items that unlocked a mini-story to lead you to a rare pokemon. I mean something a little more story heavy than that. The Member Card and Oak's Letter 'stories' took, what, five minutes to complete? I'd like to see actual downloadable story arcs instead of just downloadable access to legendaries.

-More type combos. I want something like a fire/electric. dark/water, dragon/whatever.

-More Pokemon of certain types: We need more electrics. I can't trade with anybody, no wi-fi, nor any friends that are open to trade, so in DPPT I'm restricted to shinx or pachirisu. It's annoying. HGSS I'm stuck with Mareep every time, too..

-Faster battles. Man, they are too slow.

-I don't want another legendary monopoly. They didn't feel special in DPPT to me, because there was a load of them! Everywhere! They didn't end! I'm happy with five and under.

-Less trade-evolutions. Having no one for me to trade with means my Kadabra stays a Kadabra. Forever.

-I for one hope this world is extremely diverse in locations and Pokemon. I don't want to see forest after forest after cave. I want to see deserts and lakes and jungles, and something amazing and different.

-No more pre-evolutions. I'd LOVE some evolutions, though. Maybe some non-evolution Pokemon could get some love. Stantler, Girafarig, Tauros.. all the minor Pokemon.

-But, even with the comment above, I don't want to see a lot of other-gen pokemon catchable around the region. they should focus on the new
Pokemon.

-Lastly, I want the game to be harder. The DPPT elite was a breeze for me, and HGSS is going by in a flash(Morty was such a pushover, my Feraligatr took him out in a minute flat, and I had no trouble with Clair).

-New Pokemon to evolve by old methods. I want something to use the Thunder Stone, Sun Stone, and the new set of stones, for example.
-For the love of god make the Protector & Dubious Disk buyable somewhere. Depending on the game, you can only ever get one of the things. Platinum lets you have two. Messed up your Rhyperior? Sucks for you!
-A prevolution/evolution combo for Kangaskhan. Prevo could be the baby in it's pouch or something different, but the evo would actually be a split for the baby. A male version of Kangaskhan. Where as Kangaskhan is more based on attack and speed, Male! would be based on defense.

-Don't change the difficulty. It's so subjective it's ridiculous. For every person who complains about things being too easy, there's another who finds it just right or hard. The game is designed more or less for you to find your difficulty. Finding yourself too strong? Stop level grinding (Feraligatr by Morty? Seriously?), or keep levels low in general. Use weaker pokemon. Too weak? Change your line up a bit. Add in some stronger ones. Beef up your Pokemon a few levels.

Pretty much my ideas from the other thread stand firm. If you want to see them, look in the other thread.

Like with DPPtHGSS, I hope that they incorporate Day/Night and Trainer/Rival/Elite 4/Champion/Gym Leader Rematches into BW. The Rematches are my favorite part of Pokemon games. They've done rematch calls for GSC and then from Emerald to present. It's better with the DS's time feature and we know that BW will be for the DS.

I'm hoping for BW to surpass Generation IV. It already has in graphics though.

I would like the contest system to be overhauled. It was actually pretty fun and almost required skill in R/S/E, but D/P/Pt/HG/SS ripped out all the fun of it.

Also, badge case. Polish polish polish...

I would like to see more of the dual types that were mentioned such as fire/electric etc.

I would like some pokemon to evolve... you evolved Tangela and Rhydon with D/P/PT

Whatever happened to the double gym?

I rather like that idea of evolution depending on version. It would work rather nicely. And that would be a reason for the third game to trade with the other two, similar to how platinum didn't have the D/P exclusives.

Something that makes me lol every time I see it; people wanting a Dark Gym. Dude, dark HAS gotten some spotlight. If you've forgotten, TWO Elite Four members have specialized in it; Karen and Sydney. Though a Dark Gym would be nice, if just so we can have a shiny dark-type badge.

@Koratah: I'm guessing you don't have platinum? They expanded the choices; you also have Electibuzz, Rotom and Jolteon to choose from. Five electrics. Much better.

Yeah but every other type has had it's own gym, Dark is the only one without.

I also wouldn't mind another Dragon type gym. We've got enough that things could be a lot more interesting then Clair, now.

Oh, and one other thing I'd like to see: An option to make all battles double battles. Put it in the options somewhere. It's a fairly big thing, but the game battles are mostly skewed towards Singles.

Also, I kno that they seem 2 like to incorporate a legendary in the pre elite 4 part of the game, but i just wish it wasn't directly part of the plot with the bad team. like wat they did with HGSS.

Here's a list of all the pokemon who need evolutions. I think it's safe to say that at least one of these are going to evolve this gen

*Arbok - underwhelming stats are begging for an evolution
*Sandslash - a cool pokemon that just needs a slight boost in stats
*Parasect - Completely overshadowed by Breloom. Needs an evo.
*Venomoth - I always thought Venomoth was cool, but it's stats suck. It needs an evo to be able to compete with Yanmega as 'coolest user of tinted lens ability'
*Golduck - great ability, but bad stats
*Farfetch'd - this guy has been gunning for an evo since day 1
*Seaking - the horsea line got a final evo. I think it's about time Seaking did too.
*Mr. Mime - he has a very good ability but his stats are really unbalanced. He needs more HP
*Jinx - Her stats need a boost to let her compete with other psychic sweepers
*Ledian - needs an evolution badly. Preferrably a type change too.
*Ariados - the only user of spider web and it sucks. Needs better stats and more durability
*Lanturn - so close to being a really great pokemon. It just could use a little boost in other stats besides HP.
*Xatu - it's stats look ripe for an evolution. It should turn into a peacock with many eyes on it's tail.
*Sudowoodo - This thing is outclassed by so many better rock types, even if it was a path blocker in G/S
*Quagsire - like Lanturn, it has a great typing and ability but terrible stats!
*Unown - it must have some reason to exist. If it evolves it could become a mixed attacker, but it's stats would still be kind of bad unless they get a drastic boost in all areas.
*Girafarig - a diverse movepool but no good stats to use it with
*Dunsparce - yes yes yes! One of the coolest pokemon needs an evolution to let it compete with Togetic and Jirachi.
*Granbull - pretty uninteresting pokemon at the moment
*Qwillfish - makes a great rain dance lead currently, and an evolution would allow it to fill other roles besides that.
*Magcargo - no explanation required
*Octillery - already a pretty good pokemon, but considering how slow it is, it needs better offensive stats to make it a real threat.
*Corsola - fantastic movepool but terrible stats! It could be a great defensive pokemon if it would just evolve
*Delibird - this pokemon needs a reason to exist other than just being a silly gimmick
*Mantine - let's have another special wall that's not called Blissey
*Stantler - interesting pokemon that could be a great mixed sweeper if it would evolve
*Mightyena - it's a cool pokemon. It would appreciate an evolution
*Pelliper - could be a nice defensive pokemon with some more bulk
*Masquerain - Masquerain could have been a really cool bug/water pokemon with intimidate, yet it's ruined by bad typing and bad stats. Time for an evolution.
*Sableye - totally outclassed by Spiritomb
*Mawile - could be a really cool baton passer with better stats
*Manectric - a stat boost would make it a great sweeper
*Volbeat/Illumise - male and female evolutions respectively?
*Swalot - swalot is really cool. If it had more durability it could be one of the most annoying things ever.
*Sharpedo - for a pokemon with such bad defenses, it's offensive stats aren't threatening enough and it could use more speed.
*Camerupt - could use some more in offenses given it's poor speed.
*Torkoal - some more defenses could make it a fire type that's actually durable
*Grumpig - a very interesting pokemon who deserves an evolution
*Spinda - another one of those gimmick pokemon who has no current purpose, which is a shame because it has a great movepool!
*Zangoose - outclassed by Weavile and other faster physical sweepers
*Seviper - much the same
*Altaria - outclassed by many other dragons
*Solrock/Lunatone - perhaps a fusion evolution to create a planet pokemon?
*Whiscash - Whiscash is actually pretty cool, but it needs better stats
*Claydol - another cool pokemon who could use better stats
*Castform - yet another silly gimmick pokemon with little utility. Needs better stats
*Kecleon - once again, better stats would be welcome. It doesn't really have the durability to use colour change effectively
*Banette - Dusclops evolved, so why shouldn't Banette?
*Tropius - weird stat spread that could use a boost in all areas. too slow to use chlorophyll well.
*Chimecho - it's mediocre stats and pre-evo strongly hint that it will evolve sometime
*Luvdisk - this thing needs 2 evolutions it's so bad
*Kricketune - why does it exist? It doesn't do anything better than a lot of other bug types
*Vespiquen - so hard to get hold of this pokemon and yet it has a terrible typing and only decent stats.
*Pachirisu - top of my evolution wish list. Pachirisu could be an excellent fast/defensive pokemon and status user if it only had better stats and a useful ability.
*Cherrim - gimmick or not, it's somewhat cool and could use an upgrade.
*Gastrodon - I love this thing! Let it evolve into a spanish dancer (the sea slug, not the lady)
*Purrugly - what is with these lame stats? This pokemon's not really good at doing anything. And it's so...ugly!
*Skuntank - more average stats that look suspiciously evolv-able.
*Chatot - a fun concept, but it could use some more power
*Carnivine - poor stats need help
*Lumineon - this one too

I can foresee this topic getting out of hand, but hopefully people will be respectful.

Anyway my hopes for the 5th gen.
-Dark Gym
-No Water or Rock Gym. Fire, Bug, Ground, Poison, Dragon, Steel, Flying could all use another gym. Any type that has only be represented once or twice. Rock and Water are nearly in every region.
-Pre-evolutions only for pokemon who don't need to evolve. IE Heracross. No more Chingling kind of things. Personally Tauros/Miltank Split, Kagaskhan, Lapras, and Pinsir/heracross split would be cool to see.
-Evolutions of pokemon that get overlooked. Qwilfish, Tropius, Absol, Farfetch'd, Stantler, Dunsparce, Delibird, Chatot, Girafarig, Corsola, Pachirisu to name a few. Other pokemon that have previously evolved could evolve again (example Noctowl), but I'd prefer the overlooked ones get priority.
- No evolutions for no reason like we got in the 4th. Example would be Rhyperior. Skarmory, Heracross, Tauros, Spiritomb, Gyarados and Aerodactyl don't need to evolve. They are strong enough. Preevolutions are fine if they don't have one already.
-I would like Character customization. Even if its just changing the clothes on a male or female model, its something.
-I am fine with the battle system. If they do "speed it up" like so many are asking for, I hope they don't screw it up.
-I'd like more side quests. Similar to Fallout 3 or Mass Effect, where you could spend hours just doing side quests. A longer story and better post game would be cool too.
- I think if they are gonna go the Evil team route, they should have two evil teams. One who is more like a Gang, who just wants to steal pokemon and money. The other can be more like Team Galactic/Aqua/Magma who try to take over the world.
- The platinum trainer house. Helpful for raising pokemon later in game.
- Vs. Seeker.
- A new Rod. Old rod can be for magikarps, Good rod for low level water pokemon, Super Rod for higher level stuff like Gyarados, Then a new Rod (Hyper Rod?) that's the post national dex rod. I hate waiting till after the elite four to capture higher level things.
- I'd like for a better way to handle HMs. I proposed an idea on these forums before that when you use an HM you can select to either learn it as a Battle move or a field move. Field moves would only be usable in the field, battle moves in battle. This would prevent you from having to delete one of you good moves or from using a HM slave. I am against more than 4 moves BTW. That just makes the game too broken when you consider that stuff like Lucario would be able to counter all its weaknesses.
-The same awesomeness to the soundtrack that HG/SS got.
-A new rock/ground type that is a special wall. This is needed for anyone who runs a sandstorm team.. like me.
- More Dark types. Dark/Psychic, Dark/Steel, Dark/Dragon..etc
-More Dragons that aren't weak to ice.
- An actual Wolf so we can stop arguing over if Suicune is a wolf or not (please don't reply with your thoughts on what it is here, there is a thread for that in pokepolls).
- Would be nice if this gen just had the new trio, The box legends, the "Mewtwo" and the "Mew" and no more legends. Too many now.
- I wouldn't complain if this was a two region game, But I doubt it. As long as they put as much effort into the landscape as they did with D/P/Pt I'll be happy.
-HG/SS's Safari Zone. Pal Park kinda thing would be cool as well if these games are for the DS.
- Letting your mother save your money. I love this feature in HG/SS, but I wish she didn't call me so much. On that note, no more phone.
- 3 new Eeveelutions. Something that goes together though. Steel, Rock, Ground? Flying, Dragon, and Bug? All the past ones went together. (Fire/Water/Electric = basic elements, Dark/Psychic= Light/Dark, Grass/Ice= Summer/Winter)
- A pokemon with a split evolution based on its happiness rating. If it hates you you get the "evil" evolution, if it loves you you get the "Good" evolution.
- Pokemon following you, but the ability to turn it on or off.
- Running shoes from the start of the game.

Thats all I can think of.
-;248;

a wolf one would be nice too, but like grass/steel or grass/dark for one version and ground/steel or ground/dark for the other. ice/steel/ or ice/dark would be in both, since wolves live in deserts, forest and snowy regions.

also why ice should be in both- it beats both grass and ground, though ground is weak to grass as well.

This thread is the worst thread on the forum and is a complete detriment to everything intelligent. But, since I suppose there's no getting rid of it anytime soon, we can at least make some ground rules for the thread.

Look, I don't mean to be just unpleasent but I don't think calling this a detriment to the intelligence of the forum is very called for. People should be able to express their ideas without feeling that the thread degrades their intelligence for doing so.

With that said I think that one should be able to see more of a perspective of the gym leaders. They're really one-sided and with the exception of getting their phone numbers and battling them (in GSDS) you don't see that much.

Also, would it kill to intertwine the gym leaders with the plot? They don't contribute much except making you battle them for a badge. and a new expanded plot would be nice, everything is the same outline. :X

And, I know I'm going to be shot for this but how about visiting old regions? :/ I don't know seeing 5th Generation things in Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh/Orre would be pretty interesting.

More legendaries, and custimization for the character. I would like it if between Generation V all 493 + Generation V pokemon can be obtained in game, but I'm asking too much (okay maybe not the legendaries i don't use them anyways)

Finally, maybe some appearances from old (new with GSDS?) NPC's. I'd kill to see Volkner in Generation V - although fanservice for me is quite unfair

I wish for Noctowl has a new Evolution and Medicham has a new Evolution!
More than one Rival and more new Fossil Pokemon. that would be cool!
And a base camp in the Mountain or anywhere except in the tree (its boring to me.)
even we can make the Base camp a training place. that will be AWESOME!!!

And maybe no more Tutorial basic help like Introduce the Pokemon Center and Pokemon Mart or even about catching some new Pokemon. that is so silly to me. maybe Tutorials about new Feature only to Introduce, not the basic.

I would also love to see this. We got a bit of it in DPPt with Crasher Wake rushing to the scene of the explosion in the Marsh, but that was a very small bit.

These are some of the strongest and most experienced trainers in the region, they should have a visible and active role in their communities. That's one of the things I've liked about the D/P seasons of the anime. While I do think the anime should be kept seperate from the games, especially since the dialog is becoming even more inane than the dialogue in the games, I do like that the Gym Leaders actually seem like a member of their community. Crasher Wake runs the croagunk festival, Gardenia makes a few appearances, Maylene rushes to the scene when TG tries to steal the Veilstone meteorites, etc. That's the kind of stuff I'd like to see.

I can picture a climactic battle during which you join the gym leaders and League Champ as they fight off some dire threat.

People say 'no more legends' because there are too many. Out of a quick math sketch in my head, they're about 7% of the national dex. I would kinda like a Hummingbird pokemon. It could work well as the regional bird. It would most likely have massive speed, nice attack and Sp. attack, or an emphasis on one over the other, and fearsomely pathetic defenses.

Snowyarticuno: That is a good point. But what a dark gym's layout would look like is a good question. I mean, what would initially come to mind for a dark type gym has been done. A lot. Morty, Brawley, and Fantina (Platinum) have all claimed the kind of gym that would suit it. But since dark is fighting dirty, maybe trainer that sneak up on- Oh, wait. That was Fantina. Maybe multiple paths, but one just leads back to the begining?

adhdguitar: ...Okay, I'm going to assume you know the anime is based off the games. What it appears you don't know is that the tournament in the anime IS based off the games. The tournament is actually the Anime's representation of, wait for it, Victory Road.

Personally, I think it would be cool if the next victory road was made up of four large 'segments' each of which referred to one of the four Elite Four. Like, if there was a dark E4, a dark maze segment. Or, for water, a large (Underground?) pool.

Icelord: Yes, rounded, 7% of pokemon are legendaries. Don't see how that's a problem, though. That means that out of 100 pokemon, 7 are legends. Seems pretty right, to me.

Punk Lion: Yes, making GLs more intergregated would be spectacular. Though you forgot something; Chandice also plays a role in plot by rushing off to deal with TG. Also, a non-DPP example; In RBY, Giovanni was both the final gym leader and the TR boss, which ties in with the whole TR=Mafia thing, as Mafia leaders often occupy respected positions in society.

Satoshi: Take out the tutorials?! But then what the heck are the new players supposed to do?

I wonder what the Region will look like. I'm suspecting that it will be another part of Japan. However all of Japan will be taken up enentually, will they go to other parts of the world? What if they go to the U.S.A and make states into regions like California, Texas, or Florida. They could go to provinces in Canada or Mexico, states of Australia, or countries of Europe. Just saying there is a lot of possibilitys if Pokemon goes into hundreds of generations and we'll be long gone.

I think a bigger issue than under leveled trainer, is wilds. They've been around since gen 1, and it should change, but you know it won't. Just think, even if they do go away, there will still be the same level trade thing, so you can get a level one of almost any pokemon for in game trade.

I also like to think I am not unintelligent for enjoying some speculation and wishful thinking. I'm hoping for the following:

Revised box system. Or the boxes can be kept the way they are if we can have some way of checking our boxes away from a PC. I want to know what nature and ability the pokemon I just caught have right after I caught it--I don't want to have to go to a PkmnCntr to find out.
Like some others have mentioned I'd like some more downloadable content. These would be more extensive than the special Key Items and could come in the form of maps/new areas or quests of some sort. I am not too informed as to how the DSi console works, but I like the idea of being able to download new maps and save on SD cards (this would also promote sales of the new generation of DS consoles).
More non-linear storyline. This is self explanatory.
QWERTY on-screen keyboard. This is not too much to ask for, is it? (this might be implemented in HGSS, but I am yet to start that game even though I pre-ordered it)
Animaitons or manga-style stills for cutscenes. This is fluff, but I think it adds to the story, especially since the sprites and general game graphics won't be that great.
I love the grass type and I want to see a Grass/Fire type pokemon with good special attack and decent defence and speed. Burning bush, anyone?
I'd like for a story void of legendaries. I think the legendary-driven storylines of late are lazy. Plus, I don't care for legendary pokemon to begin with.
Involve the Elite Four or whatever the BW equivalent will be more into the game plot... sort of like Cynthia in DPPt, but step it up one level.
I would love for the post Elite Four part of the game to focus on the RPG aspect of the game by, e.g. giving players the choice of adopting a "class" or profession, such as collector, breeder, special type trainer, contestant (for the ribbon stuff), etc.
I know this is probably impossible, but it would be nice to have a system that blocked hacked pokemons or one that simply reduced the base stats of hacked pokemon to what they would normally be and that also blocked forbidden moves.
HMs are getting old. I can see the need for Surf and Fly and maybe Rock Smash, but things like Defog, Flash, Rock Climb are just annoying. If they choose to stick with HMs, let us use them as a fifth non-battle move exclusively limited to use in the overworld.

All of this said, I would still be more than content with a traditional Pokemon adventure with cool new pokemon in an interesting region.

Hope for non 5th gen legendary appear in the game.
like Dialga, Raikou, Suicune, or any other Legendary from the previous Gen.

Still hope for Shadow Pokemon to appear and can get them in the 5th gen. I know this sounds like im crazy but i really do wish for that. even if there wouldn't be Shadow Pokemon in the Game, I hope they will remake it for Wii.

This will never happen. Ever. But I'd like to see a legendary that is...like...godlike in power.

All it's stats are 255, it's type is ??? because it has NO weaknesses and is super effective against ALL pokemon, and.... yeah!

Not saying it would be playable, but a little mystery pokemon that is hinted at in the games but never found.

Sort of like the statues in the RUins of Alph. What pokemon is that? A Nidoking? That aint legendary that just kool.

But in all seriousness, I'd enjoy something like that. NOT TO PLAY WITH, but an untouchable pokemon which is just eyecandy. Maybe battle it, but no catching it.

Just to tease people :p

When I looked at the internet I came up with an idea. What would you guys think of mutationevolutions? It sounds a bit.. unbelievable.. but if you're pointing on some poke's, you'll see it could fit. For example, what if Houndoom & Dodrio could mutate. Then you would get some kinda cerberus or something. I don't know the way to evolve like this yet, but it could be something like purifying in XD, with the pc.

Don't blame the idea directly, but what would you think?

Region
Tohoku. Both areas that are speculated have enough reason to appear, and both have equal chances. I just would prefer this over the Chigoku/Shikoku area, and there are several reasons as I'll explain later. Anyway with its mountains, it could be similar to Sinnoh, but perhaps they find a way to make em go east west, and have a chance to make North/South Shellos. I can also see it not being the only region in the game, being hinted at with the usage of the Sinnoh Peninsula that hasn't been given any importance yet. Some would say nothing could be done with it, but I believe it has a chance of usage.
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/medi...ohplatinum.jpg
As a note, I'm using this image as a reference to see what I mean. If they put it in, they could use it as the Leagues site, and like GSC create a route to enter Sinnoh from there. The most likely area to enter Sinnoh from there is Canalave, and I would consider it excellent for the first gym you fight to be a steel type. Sinnoh itself, would be quite different, as I can see this game either into the future(even more) or 3 years behind. Meaning a lot of the trainers that are older then others could look younger, some gym leaders might not even exist(Maylene, Roark) or they could look older all together if in the future.
Story
Not too much to say, but I hope to god Cyrus and the Torn World get thrown in. I mean its such a good cliffhanger to base a sequel on, and while it would conflict with a new team and all that, at least a subplot in Sinnoh to work on with Cyrus. Like perhaps you got things happening in this region, but then in Sinnoh Cyrus pops up to cause havoc. Gives you a reason to travel too.
Features
-The touchscreen controls better be how they were in HGSS. Hopefully they have a left handed mode, and actually give us a chance for d-pad and touch.
-The battle screen being 3D is very likely, as we saw through the screens. On top of that, the attacks seem to have improved compare to DPtHGSS attacks. Of course it could be cause whatever Zoroark is using is different from the move thought, but if not, its a good look.
-A rotating pokedex. We've seen it already! I mean rotating like you have the Pokemon's name on top, and a 3D wheel with the sprites on it going back and forth. Like swiping left goes higher in the numbers, and going right lowers them. The seen count would be left of the name, and the caught on the right. Under the sprites would be the button uses. I can't believe we haven't had this one yet.
-Those perma-running shoes better come up again.
-The map is in the same visual appeal field of the pokedex. Not 3D, but your map has a hologram feature where if you click a city, a hologram of it pops up, with points of interest, and a nice block of text next to it. Or perhaps, its info and notes are up on the topscreen, with a 3D visual of the town on the bottom screen to scroll around with points of interest, and if there are layers, show the inner layer(like how the big city we saw has streets going into an area like that. Another note for the maps, when the hell are we going to have cave maps. I mean those things can be Zelda Dungeons sometimes, and if we were to have two regions like Tohoku and Sinnoh, it would be very useful. Perhaps either it could be bought, or instead the areas you travel to are jotted down and as you progress, you can see that you haven't gone through this stairwell, or you can backtrack to the last fork in the road.

You mean fuse together? With the example you set in your post, with two completely different Pokemon, I don't see it working tbh.

But the idea of fusion or some kind of symbiosis is interesting, and is already looked at very lightly. Like how Mantyke evolves with a Remoraid in the party. Slowpoke + Shellder = Slowbro and 3 Magnemites = Magneton according to the anime / pokedex. Implementing more of these kind of evolutions into the game would be cool.

Eh, some things I would like:

-HGSS Bag style, much less awkward then D/P/Pt's.
-No new types. Seventeen is enough.
-New type combos, such as Poison/Ice or Bug/Fire.
-For Pokemon that needed more love like Swalot and Grumpig to feature in the Regional Dex.
-Some different way of incorporating HMs. It annoys me having to give up slots for moves like Rock Smash/Defog/Cut.
-A jungle/rainforest like area (like Route 119) and a desert area before Elite Four.
-To have the evil team do more after the Elite Four. I liked Charon's role in Plat but I would love more action from them.
-Would like it if they could give the Fighting/Rock type Gyms a miss this gen and maybe give the type to a Elite Four member instead if they must, so Dark/Bug/Ground/Grass/Poison can get a Gym/another Gym.

As odd gens bring a total new way of gameplay I am expecting many things from BW. Here is a small list.
My Expectations:

A Dark type gym (wanting it since Gen II).
Double battle against E4.
A new type that gives some redemption to Poison type.
A fire type Pokemon being neutral towards water attack either by type combination or by ability(dry skin).
Thats all for now. I will update the list later on.

Well ok maybe a bad example to say Houndoom and Dodrio, but I just would like to see a Cerberus-like evolution for houndoom, and I dont think he can do that 'by himself'. Maybe a new evolution method? Cause he has to evolve..

And what you said, Instant..23, I hadn't come up with yet, but yeah, that's a good idea. Or something like when a Magnemite evolves, it says; Magnemite came in contact with 2 other magnemite, it evolves!

By the way, maybe you can let pokemon fuse together which look a bit like each other, like Anorith and Paras. Here are some examples for my idea: http://img120.imageshack.us/i/all1cx6.png/
&Yet, it could also be temporary. Do you guys remember digimon? They fused together there aswell.

1.No more unnecessary evolutions please...;476;
2.This version should only have "new" pokémon no more stupid geodudes or Zubats in a cave!!! After the National dex you may obtain pokémon from other generation.
3.Please let the storyline be good for once, more violence!!
4.Released pokémon should be able to return, but stronger!
5.Trainers should be tougher,
6.Don't forget such important stuff like the Pokéradar, cool music and especially FIRE pokémon!
7.And more interactable pokemon; a different colored pokémon not especially shiny, it could so be the thing you call 'shadow pokemon'.
8.The first gym shouldn't be a ROCK type user....

Um...explain how Probopass was unnecessary. Nosepass was useless and sorely needed an evolution. On top of that, what makes you think that more violence is going to secure a good storyline? If anything the opposite should be true. I like the idea of being able to get back released pokemon, but that would mean the game would have to store data for every pokemon you release, and that could potentially take up a lot of memory.

Something that was completely pointless that I'd actually like to see returned was the badge case from DPPt. I really like when games include little things that have no effect on the outcome of a game, but just add a little more character. Seriously, I was almost obsessed with polishing my badges.

Ah yes, I hope this returns too!

I would like the contest system to be overhauled. It was actually pretty fun and almost required skill in R/S/E, but D/P/Pt/HG/SS ripped out all the fun of it.

Also, badge case. Polish polish polish...

Agree with both points, I actually liked contests quite a lot in RSE, DPPt ruined it >_>

you know what would be awesome? if they explain who/where ash's dad is.

adhdguitar: ...Okay, I'm going to assume you know the anime is based off the games. What it appears you don't know is that the tournament in the anime IS based off the games. The tournament is actually the Anime's representation of, wait for it, Victory Road.

No, care to explain how a cave equals a tournament?

The Anime and games have two separate "Pokemon Leagues" - the one in the games has you fight the Elite 4 and the Champion while in the Anime, it's an actual tournament-like league with the E4 playing no part. I'd like to see a tournament as well as an Elite 4.

We need prevos because what about pokemon like lapras. It's currently the strongest non legend or evolving pokemon

We don't "need" pre-evos, but we'll get some anyway because each gen requires its quota of cute baby Pokemon.

Uh... no it's not. Rotom get's that honor (Going by highest total stats).

No, Lapras indeed does have a higher base stat total compared to Rotom. Still not saying it's the strongest, Aerodactyl, Rotom, etc. are still stronger.

Pokemon that need evo's in gen. 5:
Farfetch'd --> Bird which can handle 2 or more sticks
Pre-evo 'the baby' --> Kangaskhan
Seaking(useless fish) --> Huge karper or something?
Mr. Mime --> (what a suprise: ) Mime Snr.
Jynx --> Some huge woman =S
Pre-evo with tiny claws --> Pinsir --> Evo with huge claws
Pre-evo to connect somehow with Miltank --> Tauros
Eevee --> Drageon (dragon -big suprise, just like leafeon- cause it fits with the others; all special types)
All Unown --> 1 great psychic pokemon (made of 28 unown, just like Magneton of 3 magnemite)
Pre-evo --> Girafarig
Dunsparce --> A snake like everyone says, but not mean-looking like Arbok/Seviper. It should have a face like Dunsparce himself; a bit drowsy.
Pre-evo --> Heracross (great poke, doesnt need evo)
Corsola --> Something great I can't imagine..
Magcargo --> Slug with huge shell, which is as big as, let's say, Blastoise (Piloswine gets evo, so why Magcargo doesnt?)
Delibird --> Just needs one! It's almost forgotten..
Pre-evo --> Skarmory
Houndoom --> Cerberus-like
Tyrogue --> Could evolve by HP-stat higher/lower, just like with attack/defense/speed for the others
Pre-evo --> Miltank (see Tauros)
Mightyena --> Aren't the games Black&White? Also, it has a similarity to Zoroark
Mawile --> Cause 'counterpart' Sableye is almost invincible, while Mawile is easy to melt.
Torkoal --> Huge fire tortoise (we have Blastoise, Torterra, so why not a fire-type?)
Altaria --> Cause it's the weakest fully-evolved dragon poke..
Lunatone --> Evolution, so it has a big role in Black
Solrock --> Evolution, so it has a big role in White
Kecleon --> Cause it could be SO much more
Pre-evo --> Absol --> Evo, those great examples someone showed earlier! And seriously, Absol, such a cool pokemon, with a total stat of like 450? Come on!
Luvdisc --> Evo, cause its useless as it is.
Kricketune --> Cause its useless?
Pachirisu --> Evo, cause it's just like Pikachu, but without evo
(Pre-evo) --> Legendary gen. 4 --> (Evo), why would they give so many legendaries.. Legendaries don't evolve, I know, but maybe that changes in gen. 5

Before you're blaming my idea's, remember, in gen. 4 there were so many useless evolves, like Lickilicky, Rhyperior, Magnezone, etc.

Before you're blaming my idea's, remember, in gen. 4 there were so many useless evolves, like Lickilicky, Rhyperior, Magnezone, etc.

Uhm, no. Nosepass was useless before it got Probopass and a huge defense increase. Lickilicky was also very useful and it gave Lickitung more options.

Please, let's not confuse aesthetics with usefulness. People hate Probopass and Lickilicky because they look odd (though I love them both, I think they're awesome), but frankly, they aren't useless.

Dusknoir? Now THAT was useless. Dusclops was already a good Pokemon. Dusknoir gave it a small stat increase. That is virtually all.

Pokemon that need evo's in gen. 5:
Farfetch'd --> Bird which can handle 2 or more sticks No. Farfetch'd should stay a standalone.
Pre-evo 'the baby' --> Kangaskhan YES!! I've been wanting this ever since 2nd Gen when Baby forms were introduced.
Seaking(useless fish) --> Huge karper or something? Eh. Maybe. Maybe not.
Mr. Mime --> (what a suprise: ) Mime Snr. Yup. I could see this.
Jynx --> Some huge woman =S I'd rather try and forget about Jynx's existence, although perhaps it will get an evo since Electabuzz and Magmar did.
Pre-evo with tiny claws --> Pinsir --> Evo with huge claws If they do this, they need to give Heracross the same treatment, in my mind. Otherwise, I'd rather this Pokemon remain a standalone (though something like what they did with Roselia would admittedly be cool).
Pre-evo to connect somehow with Miltank --> Tauros Yup.
Eevee --> Drageon (dragon -big suprise, just like leafeon- cause it fits with the others; all special types) I don't think the 'special' aspect was intentional--I think it was coincidence. I'd much rather see a Flying-type or a Poison-type before a Dragon-Fox/Cat/Small Mammal.
All Unown --> 1 great psychic pokemon (made of 28 unown, just like Magneton of 3 magnemite) I think this would be cool and would tie the Unown into the storyline more if this Pokemon were Legendary or at least well-known.
Pre-evo --> Girafarig Eh. Why not?
Dunsparce --> A snake like everyone says, but not mean-looking like Arbok/Seviper. It should have a face like Dunsparce himself; a bit drowsy. I think this'd be cool, although I'm half-and-half on if Dunsparce should stay a standalone or not. The little guy rules on his own.
Pre-evo --> Heracross (great poke, doesnt need evo) If Pinsir gets an evo, I think Heracross should.
Corsola --> Something great I can't imagine.. I agree.
Magcargo --> Slug with huge shell, which is as big as, let's say, Blastoise (Piloswine gets evo, so why Magcargo doesnt?) That would be pretty cool.
Delibird --> Just needs one! It's almost forgotten.. I think it should remain standalone.
Pre-evo --> Skarmory Agreed. An Evo is wasted on Skarmory but a Pre-evo would be cool. Though Skarmory is cool as a standalone.
Houndoom --> Cerberus-like Yes.
Tyrogue --> Could evolve by HP-stat higher/lower, just like with attack/defense/speed for the others Perhaps. What would it be? A sumo-wrestler? (Though we already have one with Hariyama...)
Pre-evo --> Miltank (see Tauros) YES. YES. YES.
Mightyena --> Aren't the games Black&White? Also, it has a similarity to Zoroark I don't think so. Mightyena doesn't need an evolution. Plus, it's something similar to the regional mammal/rodent, along with Zigzagoon. Those don't normally get evolutions after the Generation in which they are introduced--they're meant to stay weak.
Mawile --> Cause 'counterpart' Sableye is almost invincible, while Mawile is easy to melt. Sableye also sucks. A Mawile evo would be cool, though.
Torkoal --> Huge fire tortoise (we have Blastoise, Torterra, so why not a fire-type?) YES. Oh my God, I want a Torkoal evo so badly. I loved Torkoal, I just wish it was stronger.
Altaria --> Cause it's the weakest fully-evolved dragon poke.. I like Altaria as it is. It doesn't need an evo. Maybe a split evo for Swablu, though.
Lunatone --> Evolution, so it has a big role in Black Eh. Naw.
Solrock --> Evolution, so it has a big role in White Eh. Naw.
Kecleon --> Cause it could be SO much more Unless it gets a better ability, it will continue to suck. It's easy to beat.
Pre-evo --> Absol --> Evo, those great examples someone showed earlier! And seriously, Absol, such a cool pokemon, with a total stat of like 450? Come on! I'd like an Absol evolution. I think we should get one.
Luvdisc --> Evo, cause its useless as it is. No, keep it a weak standalone. It's there mostly for show.
Kricketune --> Cause its useless? Regional bugs, mammals/rodents and birds usually don't get evos added on in later generations. They're meant to stay weak for an early-use Pokemon.
Pachirisu --> Evo, cause it's just like Pikachu, but without evo I agree. The thing is begging for an evo.
(Pre-evo) --> Legendary gen. 4 --> (Evo), why would they give so many legendaries.. Legendaries don't evolve, I know, but maybe that changes in gen. 5 I don't see this ever happening. Legendaries, as you said, don't evolve. I could see a powerful Legendary being introduced that can evolve into another Legendary, but that'd have to be a part of it's design--a Pokemon like Dialga evolving wouldn't make sense.

check the previous thread to see my wishlist, just wanted to add a little to the wishlist. Maybe they should make the story a little more like the manga (I know the manga's based on the game), although that's an impossible wish.

and I agree with everyone who wants the useless pokémon to get an evo, Unown's one who really need it, Magikarp's lucky, cuz Magikarp can evolve, while Unown has no evo/pre-evo, no moves expect Hidden Power and terrible stats (lvl 100 Unown = lvl 15 Unown), and Unown can only beat a low-lvl Magikarp, and maybe a low-lvl Feebas too, but that's the limit of Unown...

Nosepass badly needed that evolution and Lickylicky was a great improvement.

Something else I would like to see is Secret Bases to return, above ground this time, and maybe more diverse locations for them. I like how in RSE you could have one in a tree, in a cave or in a clump of grass, but just in a snow route they could have under a pile of snow or like an igloo or something, or on the side of a volcano with lava running through the walls.

Really?, Wow that's not a lot considering the amount of pokemon and such!

OK well they could include pokemon following as well couldn't they? Also why not have a region that's big so we have plenty to keep us busy after the E4. The Frontier was good, yes, but it got boring and tedious after a while. Maybe GF could take some ideas from different RPGs say FF12 were there was so much to do I raked 300 hours out of it, so maybe add a job system were you can do jobs for people like retrieving items or lost pokemon or help out someone in a sticky situation, something along those lines.

I'm not to sure I just want something "deep" to keep me going after the E4.

Now, well. I just came up with something. What if you're starting in a region, a new one of course. You've got 8 gyms and finally you have the elite 4. You think, well, that was the game then. WRONG. It has to be like GSC: You have a ticket to go to another region. But please... let this region be also a new one! And there you'll have gyms and an NEW elite 4 (not the same as in GSC), all around your level. On this way you can get around level 70/80, all by only completing the main-game.

Why I want (if there's gonna be a next region) a new region? Could you imagine Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh in 3D... That's also why I would understand it, if there isn't going to be a RSE remake.

I would really like to see other typed starters (psychic/dark/fight), even though it will never happen it would be fun. This or a unique starter pokemon of normal type who could get a certain type when he evolves, some stats based evo or something. It's never going to happen but it would be great. Or just starters that look cool. I'm didn't really liked them since gen III...

We need more grass-type and fire-type mammals, I'm sick of the lizards and turtles, seriously.

Even though it's meant to be based on special type only, I would love to see new eeveelution with ghost, poison and steel. Actually even if it's meant to be its last eeveelution i dont really care about dragon-type.

We really need character costumisation. Even the possibility to chose from three premade female and male characters would be cool. I mean a sporty outfit, a classy outfit and a celebration outfit would be cool, no?

I agree with you, no more geodudes and zubats in caves, they can come up with new pokes!

Even if it doesn't look like it's back from the screenshots, I would love your pokemon to follow you, I though it was a great feature from HGSS, maybe it's back but only for the starters like in pokemon yellow?

A real panda pokemon and a great lion pokemon.

Yin/yang based legendaries, one male the other one female who could mate (maybe thanks to an event based object) to give birth to the "mew/celebi/jirachi/shaymin" of this generation some kind of balance pokemon I guess.

Your pokemon to actually need to be bigger than you to use fly or surf. I mean, seriously, surffing on a tiny little fish? Come on! Maybe they could include those HM's as some kind of natural ability those pokes would have and you would need to get them educated to use those abilities. Anyway if we could get rid of the need for HM slaves that'll be cool.

1) This is way out there, but it'd be cool if your game followed along with the seasons of your home region, or even just went through a generic seasonal cycle, a la Animal Crossing.

2) Having more variable weather would be nice too. Maybe tomorrow it's raining in X Town. Maybe the next day it's sunny. It'd affect the frequency with which you meet certain Pokemon in that area.

3) Not likely, but I want an evolution for Mawile to lift it out of NU. There's a reason my Mawile is kept at level 99.

4) More Dark and Dragon types that use dual typing not utilized before.

5) A Victory Road that isn't a cave. Change it up a bit.

6) An option to speed up battles. Probably won't happen, but for veterans who don't need to be told everything that happens, especially when they're grinding or EV training, being able to speed things up would help a lot.

7) Return of the PokeRadar. Oh gods, please. Yes, for shiny hunting, but mostly for added ease in EV training.

8) Please, more evolutions using the old methods. I've got a pile of Water Stones as tall as my head from digging in the underground.

9) Gaining Exp from the Battle Frontier, if there is one-- or at least more high-level trainers to fight post-E4. By the time you've beaten the game, your options for high-level battles to level up your godly Pokemon become far too limited.

That's quite the list, but I came up with this as I read the ideas of other users in this thread.

If you are telling this based on how the types were defined before the 4th gen came out, then its ok.
But if you look at how the 4th gen works (which is also how things would most probably work in 5th gen as well) & there stat, then Flareon & Leafeon are much better at physical attack than special attack.

Before you're blaming my idea's, remember, in gen. 4 there were so many useless evolves, like Lickilicky, Rhyperior, Magnezone, etc.
If you ask me, based on looks, only Lickilicky is bad looking. But based on usability, all three of them are in no way useless evolutions. Evolved forms are in no way useless in the pokemon games. Its only the pre-evolved forms which are a bit useless (but not completely) but still are needed in the game.

I know we haven't had this since the Hoenn games, but I would love to see a return of the Secret Bases, and not the lame underground ones we had in Sinnoh, the Underground was a horrible mistake that I hope never returns. I'm talking about the ones where Secret Power needed to be used on a spot with an indention and they were scattered all over Hoenn.

They each had unique aspects about them that really made it feel like it was your secret base. And the mix data feature where we could get the bases of our friends even when we weren't connecting with them, so we could battle their current team and get experience from it.

Then the items we could have in the bases, oh man. The piano mats that made the sound of each note when stepped on, the posters, the floor boards, that shelf we could run across.

The giant sales the Lilycove department store would have. The TV that announced the sale, and only being on when they said something that mattered, I want that back as well.

If fifth generation gives us back the real Secret Bases, that'd just about make my life.

I think it would be cool if they introduced devolution, where the pokemon evolves into a weaker pokemon, but the only way to get the pre evolution is by breeding, or the pokemon is strongish in its first evolution, super week in it's second, and stronger then the first in its third, but the pokemon needs to be in its second evolution for 10 levels or something b4 it can evolve. I think this would make sure uber pokemon are harder to get, and that would be cool.

Pokeradar, first of all. This was the shiny hunter's wet dream.

Next I would like a training area, maybe a building with 100 levels going up, with an elevator that only goes down. You battle trainers or special training (uncatchable) pokemon to level up, not gaining EV's. Pure grinding purposes, cause in the previous games I tend to run out of training spots.

Secret bases would be a nice thing to see come back-- or at least the idea of customizing your room, like in G/S/C.

The villa in Platinum was nice, but you just bought items from a small, specific list and they went right where they're programmed to and nowhere else. But really, the secret bases in R/S/E were the best incarnation of the whole concept of your trainer having a customizable living space.

nah, it was first introduced in R/S/E like BroaddySN says, it's, in my opinion, not as good as the one in D/P/Pt though, with all those fun mini-games and "capture the flag"

1) This is way out there, but it'd be cool if your game followed along with the seasons of your home region, or even just went through a generic seasonal cycle, a la Animal Crossing.

I've always wanted this. Having seasons would NOT be difficult. People gripe about if Pokemon appearance frequency would be affected, and it can be easily remedied. It's been discussed before.

Just have certain Pokemon change appearance ratios depending on the season. For example, in the winter, certain bird Pokemon would become more rare in southern areas of the region, but not altogether impossible to obtain. Additionally, in more northern areas of the region, those bird Pokemon would become more frequent. Then it switches in the Summer. Some grass Pokemon would be harder to find in colder areas of the region during the Winter.

Seasons would be awesome and simple to implement.

2) Having more variable weather would be nice too. Maybe tomorrow it's raining in X Town. Maybe the next day it's sunny. It'd affect the frequency with which you meet certain Pokemon in that area.

I'd like this too.

9) Gaining Exp from the Battle Frontier, if there is one-- or at least more high-level trainers to fight post-E4. By the time you've beaten the game, your options for high-level battles to level up your godly Pokemon become far too limited.

One main point of the Battle Frontier is to give the player the feeling that they're battling against a real person; i.e. a link battle. You can't get experience from that.

However, I agree that getting experience from the Battle Frontier would be great. Maybe, in order to avoid messing with the difficulty of some of the different attractions--since the difficulty would increase if your Pokemon leveled up from Lvl. 59 to Lvl. 60--have the experience be added to your Pokemon once you've completed whatever event you're participating in. Have the experience points added to your Pokemon after you've completed a streak at the Battle Tower, for example.

With seasons, the region could also be much more varied. In the winter some areas cannot be accessed, like you would have this valley as a shortcut, but the snow blocks it and you have to go through the mountains. Or there's this mountain path with a broken bridge, and in the summer you have to go to the next one, say 300 steps away, but in the winter, its a simple walk across with the snow levels increased. Could also introduce tides to Pokemon games, and make for interesting beach routes.

Id like to see a Ghost/normal type, that would interesting.

Also maybe some downloadable content like new areas to keep the game fresh every couple of months.

A stronger Normal Eeveelotiun type.

I aslo want them to use all the space on the cart this time around for once. I a little tired of taking 20 steps south to get to the next town, maybe a open area/Field like Zelda or final fantisty, or just make the Routes like 10x bigger and just used alot of landscape, it's all the small things that add up u know?

Some type of limited customization like PBR, and version based evolutions, like this horse changes into a dark type if evouled in black ver, or a phychic type if its the White version.

I did not understand any of that.

Like I said in the last thread, I don't really like 'speculation threads' because they are hardly speculation so much as they are wishes that are either impossible or incredibly dumb, and then when they aren't in the game, people get mad because it didn't fit their exact expectations.

If you want something to be in the game, then be at least a little realistic.

That being said, here's what I wouldn't mind having:

-A good amount of pre/evos. I didn't mind the ones in D/P, but they shouldn't go overboard with them.

-A first gym that isn't Rock would be good.

-I liked Indragon's idea of 2-3 gyms being non-linear and having different levels depending on what order they are done in, but I'm not sure how that would be pulled off, though.

-More to do after the Elite 4. With D/P, the main story lasted fairly long, but it would be cool if the game had more after you beat it.

Downloadable content any more elaborate than what we have now might be a little difficult to implement. It'd all have to be programmed into the game ahead of time. A DS cart isn't like an Xbox game where expansions can just be downloaded into the system memory and accessed by the main game. That'd require a basic overhaul of the way the software works.

That's how I understand it, but if I'm utterly incorrect, feel free to correct me.

But having more downloadable "quests" similar to Oak's Letter already programmed in and unlocked via an acquired item is certainly viable, and there should be plenty of room on the cart to allow for plenty of them.

Well I posted in the other thread but that got locked so, here is a more organized rehash of the several things I posted before.

ENVIORNMENTS/OVERWORLD:

-Overall I want to see them make natural environments like forests as expansive and epic looking. Update the natural areas just as stupendously as they updated the city area.

-Add a tide pool area. (you could find Krabby, Wingull, Corsola and other tide pool like pokemon there.)

- Find pokemon when you are walking through flowers, (Combee, Sunkern, Cherrim etc.)

TYPE RELATED

-More fire types and imaginative combinations of new types: Fire/Water, Fire/Electric, Fire/Bug, Fire/Psychic, Bug/Water(besides surskit), Fire/Grass, Fire/Poison etc.

-A Legendary Bug type would be cool

-NO NEW TYPES, I think they have a pretty nice balance with typing since the creation of Dark & Steel and I don't see that there is any new type that could really be useful in categorizing pokemon or in the balance between the types.

- more interesting Rock/(insert type here) combinations for the new batch of fossil pokemon.

EVOLUTIONS AND PRE-EVOLUTIONS

-Dunsparce evo
-Mawile evo
-Sableye evo
-Kangaskhan pre-evo
-Jynx evo
-Pachirisu evo

Girafarig also needs a special evolution like Shedinja where it's tail evolves into a new pokemon that is Dark/Psychic when you have a pokeball and an extra spot in your team or something like that. I believe this makes sense since the tail has it's own brain and I always thought it would be interesting if it became it's own entity.

MISCELLANEOUS

-more side quests or mini-games.

- Fossil pokemon based off of T-Rex, Stegosaurus, or Dilophosaurus.

-pokemon based on leeches, fleas, or mosquitoes.

- New pokemon to inhabit caves instead of geodude and zubat. (probably won't happen but I can dream)

-Include the Pokeradar

-Include the VS Seeker

-BRING BACK THE POKEMON WALKING BEHIND YOU FEATURE!!!! It makes your adventure so much more enjoyable.

-if the underground returns you should be able to see where each of the guys you can trade items with are on the map, also make it look more interesting. It is a repetitive maze, but the actually digging is fun.

I really really want the walking behind you feature back!! That's my biggest wish.

But I also hope we get at lot of new Ice types. They are far and few between.

No Light type. Personally, I don't want anymore types, just new combos.

Considering how climatic Platinum was, with the end of the world and all that good stuff, I hopw this one has an even bigger climax!!!

And the verison mascots appear in both to fight each other, but you can only get the one relative to your verison.

Good new Pokemon, like always!

I want:
More decent bug moves (X-scissor and bug buzz don't cut it)
The same for dark types (only crunch and dark pulse?! Really?)
A way to buy Kurt's poke balls
The same time capsule system as generation 2 (migrating is painful)
Stats for the human character i.e Hunger, Running Endurance, Amount of sleep, etc...

Kindrindra
24th April 2010, 9:03 PM
...RR, they do have quite a few good dark moves. Offense isn't the only thing. Taunt and Torment are very helpful. And on the note of offense, Sucker Punch is spectacular. And human stats would just make the game annoying. Do you really want to have to run back from the middle of the route because your character is hungry?

However, I do think that more types need some 100/120 power moves. Psychic, Dark, and Bug are all in need of some heavy-duty love.

Grass/Dragon-double weakness to ice & a bunch of other weaknesses so it won't be pseudo

Fire/Normal-it would be interesting to see & with stab on Hyper Beam/Giga Impact & Blast Burn

Water/Ghost-ghost is like the only type that water hasn't been paired with & since its unique it would be great as a starter
-its main stat>Speed

As for strong bug moves, everyone seems to forget about Megahorn.

Also keep in mind not all types need to have an overwhelming ability, some really do excel with there support attacks (They may be weaker, but there plus benefits make up for it).

What I am interested in seeing is similar to RR, bring back the time capsules.

Kindrindra
24th April 2010, 9:40 PM
No, not everyone forgets about Megahorn. It's just only one Bug-Type learns it.

As for what you're saying about not all types need overwhelming ability, I see where you're coming from. But with the Physical/Special split, GF seems to be making more varied pokemon of each type. And example would be Luxray. He's an electric type, but he isn't all that fast. On the flip side, he can actually take a STAB Earthquake. So while I agree that a lot of types specialize in say, supporting (Read: Bug), a greater variety would be nice. Also, the fact that pretty much EVERY dark-type, save umbreon, is offensively based, a 100, 120, or even 150 pwr Dark attack would be nice. Okay, granted, Fling while holding an Iron Ball is a 250 pwr Dark attack. But for the speedy, low defense Dark types... that just doesn't cut it.

I really want the Underground to return. The Underground was something I really, truly loved about Sinnoh.

But, since the Underground is something that is exclusive to Sinnoh so far, maybe something that is essentially the Underground for this new region, but it isn't a system of excavated tunnels. Maybe a subway type of system?

Entering cyberspace would be really neat, despite it's total randomness and unlikeliness.

I dunno, trainer stats would be fun as they would make it more immersive and realistic, but there's no way they'd ever be implemented. Imagine the inconvenience. However, I suppose if there was a hunger and sleep stat, you could always eventually be able to carry your own rations with you, along with a sleeping bag. But then, if you could replenish your stats wherever you are, what'd be the point of having them?

Posseidon
24th April 2010, 10:47 PM
I would like the ability to improve stats/levels without the need for battling by partaking in things like the pokeathlon and possible other in game events and possibly quests.

A less set path through the games, more open world with levels of trainers changing dynamically to the levels you are at.

I would like to see a different starter typing, not dark/psychic/fighting, too much advantage for dark over psychic. Possibly bug or poison or others that haven't had a properly strong 3 stage evolution.

I like the idea of split evolution paths, male and female, or possibly following on from the gastrodon family a slight colouration change (not shiny) for evolution in different areas, no stat changes though.

I've got an idea- why not make the Water type Spheal so to make more room for more new Pokemon. Hoppip would make a good match for Spheal but it has poor stats so that's stinky. But the typing would be perfect- it's 2x effective like Infernape was. There still isn't a naturally evolving Fire type that isn't a starter.
If they're all new starters, I hope they choose creatures that haven't been Pokemon yet.

That would actually be a nice touch. Maybe bring Team Rocket back in this one, and have his dad be *dun dun dun* Giovonni!!!! Or something like that. Then have a nice little drama twist.

I still think putting the option of becoming a Gym Leader in would be amazing. They are not gonna do it, but its worth a try to ask. But like, being able to customize your gym, pick gym trainers, pick gym type, so on, and so on. You wouldn't have to sit and wait for every trainer, it would just be something you could do in your spare time. Have the choice to have NPCs battle you, and of course a Wi-Fi option. I know everyone has wanted to do this since they were little and first faught Brock. And besides, it would be so fun to make a type themed team. Haha.

-Make Gorebyss part Psychic and Huntail part dark (this has always bothered me)
-Evolutions for Mawile, Absol, Banette, and a few others who are in desperate need of one
-All legendaries obtainable without events but requiring trading between versions

Magby evolves to Magmar at lvl 30 then evolves to Magmortar via held item trade so it doesn't naturally evolve.

I think the starter isn't really important about their type. beside, even if you choose the Fire starter and your rival choose Water, you can still catch a new grass type Pokemon to take the Rival starter down, that's all...

Why do so many people want new types for the Starters? Grass/Fire/Water has always been the trio for the Starters. It shouldn't change. It doesn't need to.

In a way I sort of wish the new generation games will be less streamlined and that they will change the traditional starter setup by, e.g. giving you a masterball and having the professor or his equivalent have you access a special area where you get to catch your own starter pokemon. This area could contain a variety of pokemon and some could be quite rare (5% or less). In addition to this they could feature some cool grass, fire and water pokemon on the first few routes as opposed to the traditional and boring normal and flying types.

Re-posting what I had put in the old thread, adding a few things though.

My hopes for Pokemon Black and White (or generation 5 in general):

Actual NEW Pokemon; give us some brand new ideas, creatures that will shock us, amaze us and inspire us to play! Less pre-evos/evos of already in existence Pokemon, if you wanted them to have these other forms, put them in the same generation! Though, I wouldn't be opposed to them adding some NEEDED evos/preevos; only about 6-7 all together though, we don't need an OVERHAUL of Pokemon related to older ones.

More length in story-line and in things to do. Some players are finished with the game in a matter of days, hell, some even in hours; now where's the fun in that? Make the game more challenging and have more depth so that we'll want to make sure we do every single thing we can and stretch game-play throughout a longer period of time than 48 hours.

A Rainforest area; I think that would be just neat!
I like the Coral Reef idea someone mentioned, I think that would be spiffy!
An ACTUAL Forest, not just a path through shrubs and some trees.
Overall I would like the region to be rich in different Biomes; give us a Tundra or a VAST desert.

From the screenshot of the city, I'm hoping that all cities will be more individualized and have major differences from each other.

I would enjoy both the rival and "Team" to be more bad/evil, or give them a different role than the typical roles they've been given.

A more differentiated gym line-up; I want they gym types to be more challenging and different than gyms in previous generations. Give us something different then Rock, Grass, Water blah blah blah. Spice it up a bit! DARK gym!

Also, just an overhaul of different typed Pokemon would be nice. We need more fire types, more, BETTER dark types, more dual-types (different) and just a bigger mix of types stretched out through the Pokemon!

Tougher trainers and higher levels leading up the League, the games are getting ridiculously easy.
A better Elite Four lineup, give us a good mix of types and trials for the Elite Four and Champion!

LESS legendaries, what good are they? Or at least only give us legendaries with a purpose and that add something to the plot/storyline because in the end that's what legendaries are for.

Graphics appear to have been greatly covered in these games, so no worries for me there.

That's all my little brain can come up with for now!

I'm guessing these games will take place at the same time that R/B/Y/G and Ru/Sa/Em do. So maybe they can have news reports about "strange weather" in Hoenn or Team Rocket Taking over Silph Co. Kinda like how D/P/Pt had a report on the Red Gyarados.

I also doubt the starter types will change. It will always be Water/Fire/Grass. I could see maybe the final forms of each having a secondary typing to give them an advantage to their weakness. But they won't change the main typing. Example could be Water/Psychic, Fire/Dark, Grass/Fighting or Water/Ice, Fire/Steel, Grass/Ground.

One other thing I forgot to add is I'd like to see more weather conditions.
The few that I thought of where Toxic Cloud, Fog, and Hurricane.
Toxic Cloud is essentially pollution. It would be poisoned typed obviously, and have an effect of randomly poisoning pokemon while its in effect, also it could make poison into toxic poison randomly. I'd also like if it boosted poison types in someway, like sandstorm does for Rock types.
Fog is the same as it was in D/P/Pt, it drastically lowers accuracy on the field. They could make some pokemon who aren't affected by it, Pokemon with Keen Eye for example. It would be a ghost typed attack, since water already has Rain Dance. Would also be nice to have other abilities to go with the Fog.
Hurricane would be the flying version of Sandstorm except it would increase all flying types speed and deal damage every turn to all non flying types. This would help pokemon like Noctowl and Tropius who are a bit too slow. Again I'd like for abilities to work with this.
I'd also like for Castform to get forms for every weather condition, including sandstorm. There are plenty of other options for weather like a dark typed weather effect that works with the moon, sort of a reverse sunny day.
I'd also like for a non-legendary pokemon to be able to summon each weather effect. Like Snover/ Hippopotas. This includes Sunny Day and Rain Dance. Would make Rain Dance and Sunny day teams a bit easier to run in non-uber play.

That's all folks.-;248;

I agree with your ideas re weather conditions. I would love a grass pokemon with synthesis and weather ball who summons sunny day, or a grass pokemon that summons rain dance. I think weather ball is such a cool move, but it is annoying how it is essentially only possible in weather teams, which is ok for competitive play, but not in-game.

Why would anyone want Toxic Cloud if there is Toxic Spikes? I don't know of any poison typed Pokemon that would benefit from that seeing that the type is only strong on grass Pokemon. I think toxic and toxic spikes are your answer to that.

Fog sounds good but instead of accuracy I think it should just be more like a permanent haze.

With hurricane, flying types are usually fast anyway and having a speed to boost should be more under an ability I think.

I'd like to to see the return of well designed Pokemon. The only reason I didn't buy this generations games is because the Pokemon looked horrible. Especially the legendaries and unnecessary evolutions. And pre-evos are the worst thing to happen to pokemon. Absolutely pointless.

A change in storyline would be nice although I doubt it will happen, but they can continue the story after the Elite Four. And can I PLEASE get some kind of reward for defeating the Elite Four? Some money? Have other strong trainers challenge me or something? I mean jeez...

Pre-evolutions make the pokemon they evolve into better i.e Electabuzz with Elekid's cross-chop egg move, great move!

I think pretty much everyone agrees on the cries. As for me, I would hate for them to emulate the anime cries, i.e. the pokemon calling their own names. When I was a kid I could not watch the show because I found that particular aspect of it so annoying. The only pokemon cries I like in the anime are Pikachu and Wobuffet, but the others are incredibly annoying and give me serious second hand embarrassment for some reason, lol. If they aren't planning to update the cries they should at least provide an option for turning off cries.

I do enjoy the catchy game music so I don't want to turn the volume down. And to answer your question: if the jungle animals and the people at the party cried/spoke in pitchy blip blop 8-bit sounds, I'd prefer them to shut up to be honest. :P

I was gonna agree with zhanton, but you have a very good point. Haha.

But personally, I think the pokemon actually saying there name, would be cool. But, it would prolly only be cool for the first hour or two. . . Regardless of whether they say there name or not, the calls need an upgrade.

I'm for customisation of yourself, your family
Although customisation would be a nice [but novelty] feature, it's highly unlikely that will happen. Even if there are only 10 customisation options available, that's 10 sprites for walking left, 10 more for walking right, 10 more for walking up, 10 more for walking down, 10 for riding in each direction, 10 for surfing in each direction, 10 [or more] back sprites for battles, it just goes on and on, and it would eat a LOT of the memory that could be used in a better way.

If you ask me, based on looks, only Lickilicky is bad looking. But based on usability, all three of them are in no way useless evolutions. Evolved forms are in no way useless in the pokemon games. Its only the pre-evolved forms which are a bit useless (but not completely) but still are needed in the game.

Actually some of evolution are sometimes waste. Like Magnezone is a nice Pokemon with nice special sweeping skill but people prefer Magneton due to its higher speed. And then there is Scyther most of its incredible speed on evolution making Scizor look a bad rahash even though it rules metagame somehow.

I'd like my bedroom to be able to get dolls, posters and new furniture. A mixture between Gen2 and your cottage in Platinum. Then you could buy your own place and make it your own there, with your own bedroom.

I wouldn't have a fit if they brought in the light-type, but I'm not hoping for it. I wouldn't mind more eeveelutions at all.

I really don't like the idea of customization in a main-series Pokémon game at all. They create the characters for a reason. Perhaps at most just give the character a couple of different sets of clothes, ala HG/SS Pokéathlon.

Pokemon has been through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh and a Tauros evolution has never been introduced!

Tauros is one of my favorite Pokemon so I am hoping for that to happen.

~ Not so many Legendaries (I mean Legendaries are fine but I think Diamond and Pearl went overboard).
~ Keep the pointless evolutions and pre-evolutions to a minimum (did we really need Rhyperior or Dusknoir or Mantyke?).
~ Give evolutions for Pokemon that actually need them (for Mawile and Sableye to name a few).
~ Give Pokemon moves that they actually need (Flare Blitz for Flareon, a good Physical Electric Type STAB move for Luxray and Electivire to name a few).
~ Non-Uber auto-weather setters for Rain and Sun that don't suck.

. A pre evo for unknown. Instead of being capital letters they would be lowercase.
. A laptop item that allows you to check your storage anywhere, any time.
. A bizzare pokeathlon/contest hybrid. Take the events of the pokeathlon and the attack showing off of the contests. You could obtain bonus points by pulling off combos

Here is a list of what I believe should be included in the gen 5 games:
1) if there is a poketch (and there should be) an egg checker app which enables you to keep an eye on your egg(s) in your party, so you don't have to constantly be opening and closing your party which is very time consuming
2.there should be a dark type gym
3.people want a longer storyline after the e4, you should be able to
A) revisit the past regions and their storylines (all of them) after you have beaten the e4 but with a few extras (like you get one of each gen of starters)
B) choose (a max of 3) of which regions you wish to revisit (so it is morea personal preferance) and their storylines with some added extras obviously
4- some more battle frontier facilities!!!(battle pike pyramid stuff like that, so like all the current facilities but with some from the 3rd gen emerald frontier too
5. More wifi accessable things like a wifi storyline and stuff
6.more evolutions of existing pokemon and new ways to evolve, like a quillfish an mantine and a 3rd evolution of houndoom :D that would be epic
7. They should make a customizable battle frontier (like the safari zone in hg/ss) so you could change which facilities are in use or not
8. Some NEW frontier facilities, a battle submarine where you battle and the more you win, the further down you go in the sea, and after say 21 and 48 battles then you reach a chamber at the bottom of the sea where the frotier brain marine or summat like that I think that would be really cool :)

And then there is Scyther most of its incredible speed on evolution making Scizor look a bad rahash even though it rules metagame somehow.

Base speed isn't everything. Scizor rules the metagame because it gets Bullet Punch, a steel-type move that always goes first. I bet you're wondering what's so great about a Steel quick-attack, right? Well, let's factor in it's Technician ability and STAB. So, 40x1.5=60. 60x1.5=90. That's a 90pwr move that always goes first. Coming off Scizor's high attack... his speed doesn't really matter. And I don't know anyone that prefers Megneton just because it has 10 more speed than Magnezone, when Magnezone improves in everything else important.

There is one more thing that I haven't mentioned. Please don't pull a Platinum.

What I mean with that is this: Gen IV introduced a lot of evolutions to non evolving Pokémon (Yanmega, Lickilicky, Mamoswine etc), but these evolutions didn't appear before the National Dex in Diamond and Pearl! But they did in Platinum. This saddens me, as I love Yanmega and Mamoswine, and I would love to use them to beat the Elite Four, but I can't. I do not have access to Nintendo Wi-Fi either because I don't have a wireless router so the game after the Elite Four is rather dull for me.

So why were they not in D/P?

Let there be a way to fullfill trade-evolutions in-game! How many are they who can't trade all the time, it's so annoying! Sure because those evolutions are pretty cool though. I always wanted to have Electivire for example. I know, you have that online Trade center thing, but come on! You can't even see what item it's holding. Just like that damned Haunter in DPPt.. I really wanted that Gengar! Suprise, it's holding an everstone...

Is it such a problem to let those pokemon evolve after in-game trading? By the way, what is the way of evolving in the anime. Yes I know, Anime is not like the Games. But Paul had a Magmar, and after that a Magmortar.

1. Make the game harder with more puzzles, not the ones i could figure out when i first started pokemon (I was 4)

2. A boat load of ghost pokemon, there's not enough!!!!

3. A new move that makes Dragonite better than Salamence (dastardly lizard)

4. A useful bug pokemon!!!

5. Fire Grass pokemon, don't care what it is, it's only weak to flying and poison, which aren't very popular offence types.

firstly, i want less cross-generation evolutions (like evryone else), and i think this time it's going to happen, because there is a pattern between the generations about the number of evolutions.
GENI- fore some reason no evos, and the highest amount of pokemons so far.
GENII- only 100 pokes and not a small amount of evos.
GENIII- 134 pokemon and no evos at all. only azurill and wynaut were pre-evos.
GENIV- a ridicolous amount of them, 107 pokemons.
so based on that GENV will have next-to no evos and lots of new pokes (i think about 125). that bothers me a little too because there will be a lot more pointless and weak pokemons, like mawile (seriously, what is it supposed to be??). and i like cross-gen evolutions, only not unthought of ones like rhyperior and lickilicky.
i also want a bigger place to explore post-league. i liked having kanto in GS, although i don't want to return to a region. i want something like the battle area, only like a small region and acordingly bigger plot.

so that's it huh... but i think that character customize thing isn't really important though, because main character is just non other than an Avatar. beside, there will be the remake of 3rd gen (maybe) in two or three years.

Anyway, I wish for the cross gen trading's back in the 5th gen. just like RGB with GSC, and maybe with some new features in it.
And maybe a new feature in Wi-Fi connection, that Players can form a team with other Players to Explore some new place like cave or any other place that can travel together! oh man, that would be very AWESOME NEW FEATURE EVER!!!

i also want a bigger place to explore post-league.

I agree, if it is set in the region between Johto and Hoenn (i forget what it is called) then maybe one island could have eight gym leaders and the elite four, after that there are much, much more difficult trainers on the second island, with eight more either gym leaders or elite people the last of which has pokemon in the eighties or ninties level wise, that would extend the game much more. Also, yes, there needs to be a much more challenging set of either, mazes, complex terrain, puzzles, etc, something you could spend days pondering over and trying again and again, that would mean he games would be alot better, and the interest might actually last, maybe in caves and such, rocks could have moved about everytime you enter like you might expect them to if pokemon like steelix were living in there, that would be a new challenge and a new maze everytime, although you'd want to make that only essential to pass though the once or twice or it could get really annoying.
I agree with the being able to find pokemon in the sky, just as long as it doesn't interupt with fly's transporting ability, maybe in high places such as mountains and towers, you can go to the top, and be faced with clouds at the edge of the land, which you can only go on if you use fly, but that you can find pokemon in (like you have to use surf to go on water, you'd have to use fly to go on these clouds), that would be good.
I can still not decide if being able to go into space is a good thing or not, it would be cool, you'd find Deoxys and/or Palkia, there (after the elite four, or even after the theoretical eight after the elite four i have mentioned) also Lunatone and Solrock would be there, but other new pokemon would have to be there, we'll see.
Thats just all i can think of right now, might post some more later

After the elite 4, you can choose of 3 new starters! But they shouldn't let it be as in Emerald; you choose for Johto starters, but gyms, areas etc. are as strong as always. They need a good way to let it fit, or maybe starters of a high level?

What they surely need to do is connect Tauros and Miltank by a pre-evo. They are called counterparts, but from different gens. They just need a connection.

... are you confused as to why the 1st Generation of Pokemon didn't have any Pokemon that evolved from the generation before it? O_o;

GENIV- a ridiculous amount of them, 107 pokemons.

I don't think it was ridiculous at all. That's what I liked about the 2nd and 4th Generations--they were very connected with other generations. There can't be "too many evolutions" or something.

so based on that GENV will have

Based on what? An patternless list?

next-to no evos and lots of new pokes (i think about 125). that bothers me a little too because there will be a lot more pointless and weak pokemons, like mawile (seriously, what is it supposed to be??).

Oftentimes, weaker Pokemon (or standalones) are created to set up cross-gen evolutions.

and i like cross-gen evolutions, only not unthought of ones like rhyperior and lickilicky.

I half-wonder if people even think about what they say anymore, and if they just instead follow what others have griped about. : /

If "unthought of" refers to it's quote-unquote "poor design", then I don't quite know what you're talking about. People gripe about Togekiss and Rhyperior and Lickilicky and Tangrowth and talk about how the designs suck.

What more are you supposed to honestly do with Togetic? Make it into a human?
What about Rhyperior? Rhydon felt unfinished and Rhyperior is essentially the same as Rhydon, but with the Protector fused into it. That makes sense.
Lickilicky is the same thing as Togekiss. You can't do much more with Lickitung besides just make it bigger.
Tangrowth, same as Lickilicky.

It's ridiculous how many people complain about the cross-gen evolutions we received in the 4th Gen. The designs are just fine--not every Pokemon needs to look beautiful.

like changing how you look when you start a game, kinda like PBR. and not gonna happen because the games are based on the manga (or vice versa, idk)

...?

No, that isn't the reason at all.

First of all, the manga and anime are both based on the games. Games-->Anime and Manga.

Second, the reason it "won't happen" (a lot of people have been saying this) is because *drumroll* it takes up too much space.
Character customization (or at least changing of color schemes) would require next to nothing as far as pixels.
Others claim that there's no point in customization because you only see the full sprite for a little while and you wouldn't be able to notice anything in the overworld sprite. Well, overworld sprites are bigger now, and a lot of us are simply asking for the ability to change the color scheme.

As for the manga needing to follow the character designs of the games they are based on, the manga would simply use the default outfit for your character; i.e. the ones we saw in the scans. It's that easy.

Ok, here are some things I would like included. Some have been requested already and others you will probably look at and be O_O but this is my list.

1. Customisable Trainers.
Ideally I would like an in depth character creator for your Trainer with many, many options to make them (almost) unique to other peoples. This would also eliminate the need to appear as random trainers when appearing on wi-fi. People who didn't have the time for this could just go with some pre selected defaults.

2. Customisable Gear.
I'd like to buy things for my Trainer Character too, not just my Pokemon, being able to alter colours, get new clothes and gear would be awesome.

3. HM's need to go.
HM's would become TM's, similar to what happened with Flash. Pokemon of certain types would have innate abilities "awakened" when the player obtains a certain gym badge enabling certain types (or even specific Pokemon) to use Surf, Flash, Waterfall etc without taking up valuable slots in their move sets.

4. Musical Interference needs to be sorted.
Ever ride on your bike and enjoying the tune or listening to the radio and then when you go into battle you have to retune it? How annoying is that?
I propose that when you tune into a radio station, that is the tune you hear until it is turned off (maybe make exceptions for battles/encounters)

5. Better Radio.
It would be awesome to have a radio as in depth as something like GTA's radio (obviously without the swearing, dark tones etc) It would be nice if stations cycled between tunes and even better if the DJ's spoke, though I'm aware the latter would be difficult. I just envision stations playing not only music and remixed music from across the entire game series, but also the anime and the CD's. You could even buy in game MP3's for your PokeGear or something.

6. In depth Pokedex.
In the 5th Generation I'd like to assume Professor Oak has done some serious research. Many of the entries on the PokeDex should be filled already, with the exceptions of very rare / lengendary Pokemon. Trainers should KNOW where to go to get a Pidgy for example and instead of short entries there should be a lot there for people to read if they so wish, even if its combining entries throughout the run of the series.

7. Rearranged National Pokedex
This will prove to be a controversial move, but I think the numbers should be changed, roughly following the original but evolutions / baby forms that were introduced should be brought in so that it follows the correct evolutionary order for that Pokemon. If anyone is interested I have already wrote it up.

8. Enemy Trainer Sprites
They should all be different, even if the hair colour is altered on some or they are wearing different clothes, no two enemies should look the same with maybe the only exception being villain grunt spries (ie Team Rocket)

9. Battle Animations
As a whole I don't mind battle animations, but some things just annoy me, like when Charizard uses FlameThrower it looks like it is coming from his neck. Simple readjustments, nothing major, would clean up the animations.
However, if they wanted to really please me, the sprites would alter depending on the Pokemons condition, as they took damage they would look more and more worn out and barely concious when on very low HP. In addition, when asleep, confused etc it would look awesome if they looked like they were.

10. Food
I think the Pokemon in your team should need to eat every X amount of hours game time. As well as having effects like restoring HP, maybe PP, some foods should influence EV gain, adding another way to train Pokemon. A malnourished Pokemon will perform less well in battle.

11. Rematches
The game should have rematches that increase in difficulty similarly to SS

12. Following
Pokemon should be able to follow you ala SS

13. Combination Moves
In 2v2 battles there should be more combination moves that can make a battle drastically different from 1v1 battles. I was inspired for this especially by the manga, a good example is when Loreleis Dewgong and Cloyster make Ice Missiles from Ice Beam combined with Spike Cannon

14. Villains Play Dirty
It's been mocked a million times how a 10 year old can walk into an enemy HQ, beat a grunt and gain free unhindered access. What if it wasn't just Pokemon the player fought in the main game, but also machines and sometimes maybe even evil individuals. However I would love it if at least the villains didn't always play fair, like sending out many Pokemon against your one or having 3 plus Grunts all team up against you, wearing you down.

15. Good Plot
The games could learn a lot from the Manga, and put in a worthy storyline.

16. An Actual League
After getting 8 badges, the Player should be in a league battling trainers whose teams would also have allowed them to have obtained all 8 badges (so many times in Victory Road I will battle an Ace Trainer on their way to Indigo Plateau and think "how did you get this far?" After beating the league a first time, the trainers should have random high level teams. After becoming champion, you should be invited to fight the Elite Four.

17. Titles
Having trainer stars is a very nice idea, but they should come with titles, you start as a Rookie/Jnr Trainer and end up as a Master.

18. E-Mail
Being able to send messages to trainers in your friends list would be a nice thing to do

19. Clauses
There should be more battle options for PvP to have fairer / tournament / open style games

20. Decline
You should be able to decline battles if you don't want them.

21. Wandering Trainers
It would be nice to see other trainers wondering around, if only for a nice feature. Seeing them in grass searching, randomly going on cycle roads, at the Pokemon centre etc. Sometimes they would battle you and their teams get better as yours does.

22. Little Things
When you save and turn off your game, your character can have set up a little tent that he emerges from when you turn it on (or a sleeping bag if indoors)

Let there be a way to fullfill trade-evolutions in-game!

Trade evolutions are not going away.

5. Fire Grass pokemon, don't care what it is, it's only weak to flying and poison, which aren't very popular offence types.

I hope you realize how impossible it is to have such a Pokemon... right? O_o

I just noticed something that 5th gen needs if it has a battle tower.

1. needs to put OHKO moves on the banlist along with ubers -_-( stupid Lapras landing 3 sheer colds in a row >:( )

No it doesn't, you got unlucky. Life sucks.

What I'd like is a cat based starter, preferably fire type. Also I just want starter pokemon whose final forms look badass without being ugly at the same time. Eg Charizard is badass, Blaziken is fugly.

1. Customisable Trainers.

2. Customisable Gear.

There's no need for customizable trainers or gear. You can hardly see them.

3. HM's need to go.

No. HMs are perfectly fine. For one some of them are very useful moves and two part of the game is having to alter your team to be able to overcome certain areas.

5. Better Radio.

No. There can't be real music and there can't be fully voiced DJs. There is not enough space on DS cards for that.

6. In depth Pokedex.

No, Pokemon is about catching/finding all the Pokemon. Filling the PokeDex is one of your main goals, they're not going to do it for you.

7. Rearranged National Pokedex

Not going to happen.

8. Enemy Trainer Sprites

This is way too ambitious, you have to realize how many trainers there are. No game ever does this. None.

10. Food

This is Pokemon, not real life.

13. Combination Moves

This is something that's not going to happen. The manga and anime can do whatever they want.

14. Villains Play Dirty

That has all happened before, with the exception of machines because you can't have a Pokemon battle without a Pokemon.

15. Good Plot

The game couldn't learn anything from the manga. It doesn't need a storyline, that is not its purpose.

17. Titles

Basically what we already have... there's not point to titles.

18. E-Mail

Pointless.

20. Decline

Avoid the trainers. If you could decline battle you could just go through the whole game without battling any of the trainers...

Blaziken is fugly.

Entirely subjective.

We more than likely won't be getting this. This was acceptable in PBR because you saw the full sprite.

However, I think it'd be cool to be able to change the color scheme of your character--maybe have their outfit more green- or red- or black- or white-oriented. That'd be customization enough, especially since you don't really ever see the full sprite.

2. Customisable Gear.
I'd like to buy things for my Trainer Character too, not just my Pokemon, being able to alter colours, get new clothes and gear would be awesome.

It'd be nice, but full customization isn't happening.

I would love this. Since the badge already shows ability level so that your Pokemon will respect you, I think it'd make sense for the Pokemon to not trust you enough to use field moves until they see you have the corresponding badge(s).

If I were a Poliwrath, I wouldn't want a random Trainer I didn't trust riding on my back as we surfed across a body of water. But if that Trainer had the right amount of badges, it'd be ok.

I don't see this happening. It'd be a nice addition, but if you want to hear the Bike-Riding track, just ride your bike.

I'd only expect the former of the bold statement. You won't hear anime music and you won't be able to "buy" tracks. Having random music played from other regions would be cool, though.

I think filling the Pokedex is something that won't be going away. It'd be nice if you had an entry on each Pokemon that simply wasn't complete--like, the info is there but the weight and cry and stuff isn't--until you saw or obtained that Pokemon. But I doubt they'd do away with something that's been done since the start of the series.

No, the numbers can't be changed. I wont go in-depth, but the numbers can't be changed. I think an alternative to what you're saying could just be an option in the National Pokedex to rearrange based on evolutionary families, which works just as well without messing up the dex numbers.

I think if we had that with a Pokedex like we had in HGSS, we'd have the greatest Pokedex of all.

8. Enemy Trainer Sprites
They should all be different, even if the hair colour is altered on some or they are wearing different clothes, no two enemies should look the same with maybe the only exception being villain grunt spries (ie Team Rocket)

This would take up unnecessary space. There are a LOT of opponents in the game that you only see for one battle or so. No point in giving them all customized sprites.

I've always wanted the Pokemon to have sprite animations like they did in Crystal. However, if that isn't possible, I think an "attacking" sprite would be cool. That would also alleviate Charizard's Flamethrowing from it's neck--the sprite would adjust so that the attack animation matches the sprite. I think it'd be cool.

10. Food
I think the Pokemon in your team should need to eat every X amount of hours game time. As well as having effects like restoring HP, maybe PP, some foods should influence EV gain, adding another way to train Pokemon. A malnourished Pokemon will perform less well in battle.

These are essentially what Potions and Berries and Vitamins are. I don't see it happening.

Let's consider this: You've lost against a Gym Leader and you have very little money left. Your Pokemon are malnourished and you don't have the money to buy them food. So you continue to lose against the Gym Leader.

See how it'd be a problem? Food for you Pokemon would just be an unnecessary hassle, I think.

11. Rematches
The game should have rematches that increase in difficulty similarly to SS

12. Following
Pokemon should be able to follow you ala SS

I totally and completely agree. Many rematches already increase in difficulty, but I think there should be more of an increase.

As for Pokemon following, however much we all want it, it sadly doesn't appear to be in the game.

This would actually be a pretty cool idea. It'd be hard to implement, but I think it'd be neat.

Maybe they could work it so that, if two Grass-type moves were used, one Special and one Physical (let's say, Leaf Storm and Seed Bomb), the moves would combine for added power and effects.

I don't think they'd make brand new attacks. It'd probably just be like:

"Torterra used Leaf Storm!"
"Breloom used Seed Bomb!"
"...!!! The moves combined!"
"Your Pokemon used a Leaf Storm-Seed Bomb combo!!"

Maybe, then, there'd be added effects. Or, the effects of both moves are used for each target, along with a power increase. (I don't see the power of the moves being added together, but that could be remedied with a 1.25% strength increase to the attack. In this case the strength of Leaf Storm would be used because it's the stronger attack.)

There'd be more to work out, but I think it'd be neat.

I'd like to see this, however I don't think it'll happen.

There's this guy, Bey Brad, who was the founding admin on the World Beyblade Organization site. He had the idea that the enemy team would equip their Pokemon with weaponry that would add effects to their Pokemon's moves (like the Kings Rock) along with increasing the attack--basically, Pokemon items that added a larger number of effects to your Pokemon.

... Actually, he made up the idea for his own ideal Pokemon games... they were named Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. I'm gonna go read them.

If these links aren't allowed, I'll delete them. These are posts from worldbeyblade.com, from Bey Brad. These were his ideas for Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, created before GSC remakes had even been announced.

http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Pokemon-Gold-and-Silver-remakes?pid=50085#pid50085

^Essentially, that's what I'd want.

15. Good Plot
The games could learn a lot from the Manga, and put in a worthy storyline.

The Pokemon games have never been renowned for their excellent plotlines. I think what we have now is already good, though they can get better.

That'd be cool, but I think what we have now is just fine.

17. Titles
Having trainer stars is a very nice idea, but they should come with titles, you start as a Rookie/Jnr Trainer and end up as a Master.

As I have said above, what we have now is fine. I don't know if I'd enjoy being called a "junior Trainer" until I meet requirements.

18. E-Mail
Being able to send messages to trainers in your friends list would be a nice thing to do

Isn't this essentially the same as calling them?

19. Clauses
There should be more battle options for PvP to have fairer / tournament / open style games

20. Decline
You should be able to decline battles if you don't want them.

I wouldn't expect this. If you're able to alter the battles you're forced to partake in (or just ignore them altogether) the challenge (and therefore fun) of the game is taken away.

21. Wandering Trainers
It would be nice to see other trainers wondering around, if only for a nice feature. Seeing them in grass searching, randomly going on cycle roads, at the Pokemon centre etc. Sometimes they would battle you and their teams get better as yours does.

I never understood why this didn't happen in the first place. It's as if you are the only person in the entire Pokemon world that actually moves from one location to another.

22. Little Things
When you save and turn off your game, your character can have set up a little tent that he emerges from when you turn it on (or a sleeping bag if indoors)

I think that'd be cool. It's kind of weird how your Player just sort of stands in one place for hours.

Again, for my wishlist, I'd want the below to happen.

I want to see pokemon with more than one different PREvolution.
All along they have had things like Eevee that are able to evolve into multiple different pokemon, but never any that can evolve FROM multiple different pokemon.
They could do so much with this:
1) A special pokemon you can only get by breeding and hoping the egg hatches into it and not the other possible baby.
2) Pokemon that learn special moves based on which baby they start as; each baby knows a move or two that the evolution cannot learn by any other means, so you can only get the adult with one of these moves by breeding and getting a particular baby.
3) A pokemon you can only get by breeding and hoping to get (yes, I already said that in #1, but this is a bit more specific), but which also has a possible split-evolution; it can evolve into one species that can be found in the wild or a gift, and one that can only be obtained by evolving. It would be one of those really sought-after pokemon because of how hard it is to get one. First you have to hope that you get the right egg; then you need to hope that the baby evolves into the correct evolution.

There's no need for customizable trainers or gear. You can hardly see them.

This is a wish list and I'd like it so my trainer didn't look like every single other players and was more personal to me. Having gear and stuff to buy for him would also make it so I have something to spend my expendable income on after going through the elite 4 a million times. I just like a sense that he is "my" character. I think that is why the custom trainer was popular in Battle Revolution, even something like that would suffice.

No. HMs are perfectly fine. For one some of them are very useful moves and two part of the game is having to alter your team to be able to overcome certain areas.

HM's are not perfectly fine and they have overstayed their welcome. It wasn't so bad when there were 5, but now there are 8 and undoubtedly there will be at least one more coming up. It wastes space in the team and I don't need to keep swapping around to acquire an item or explore, when I get so far in the game Pokemon should be able to cut / surf / use strength depending on their type when you get the badge. If you like Surf for example, some water Pokemon should learn it as a move and the TM should be available for it.

No. There can't be real music and there can't be fully voiced DJs. There is not enough space on DS cards for that.

I kinda knew that, which is why it was an ideal. I still think having various tunes from the games is possible though and having it stay on is still pretty good.

No, Pokemon is about catching/finding all the Pokemon. Filling the PokeDex is one of your main goals, they're not going to do it for you.

Alright, but this is a sequel and Red, Blue, Gold, etc have been catching some. Even if it was as if you had only seen them and not caught them it would be better than a total blank.

Not going to happen.

I know, sadly but you can surely see the logic of it?

This is Pokemon, not real life.

I know, but I'm thinking of new ideas to add to the series so it's not just a shiny remake

This is something that's not going to happen. The manga and anime can do whatever they want.

It is a really good idea and adds an interesting new dynamic, even ignoring other sources

That has all happened before, with the exception of machines because you can't have a Pokemon battle without a Pokemon.

Was this in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald because I have not played the 3rd gen, otherwise I cannot remember a battle that has been 'against the rules'

The game couldn't learn anything from the manga. It doesn't need a storyline, that is not its purpose.

All games need a story of sorts, and EVERY Pokemon game has a plot. Granted it is usually, Become a champion and stop evil organisation on the way but they could do more with it to make travelling around and getting to the end more interesting.

No. Just no. Requiring "accidents" to happen to get certain species seems like a very bad idea for a kids game. I don't even like this concept in SMT, and that's geared to a more moature audience. The move thing might work, but that seems rather pointless, and point 3 is downright impossible. It would just be too infuriating trying to get these evolutions.

There have been plenty of times when we've been forced to battle trainers in a row without taking breaks, nothing new there. As for having to battle two vs one that happens in double battles.

All games need a story of sorts, and EVERY Pokemon game has a plot. Granted it is usually, Become a champion and stop evil organisation on the way but they could do more with it to make travelling around and getting to the end more interesting.

No, all games do not need a story. Some of the most fun and most played games haven't had stories at all. Pokemon's plot is fine the way it is, you have a reason to go through the world, you don't need more than that.

Gamefreak isn't trying to get you to relate to the characters they're trying to have you play the game how you want it, it's kind of a linear-open concept. If that makes any sense.

In many RPG's it just means going to find an item in your inventory or at best swapping your team around. Not going to a Pokemon Centre and searching through boxes. I usually have Pokemon just for using HM's but I just find it annoying.

A sequel, what? This is not a sequel of any sort. O_o
It's not a remake...

It's a sequel in a way, it's part of an ongoing series. Saying it's not a sequel is like saying there was never any of the previous games, I'm not saying it directly follows on but it is a later title. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Pokemon but a lot of the time it's almost like a remake, slightly better graphics and nothing really new added. That's why some of my ideas are little tweaks (nothing drastic) to move the series more forward and not being a wash and repeat job.

There have been plenty of times when we've been forced to battle trainers in a row without taking breaks, nothing new there. As for having to battle two vs one that happens in double battles.[QUOTE]

I think we got cross wired I'm thinking of say a team of 5 grunts, all with 6 pokemon each attacking simultaneously, or battles in a row that are actually difficult. Two on One battles are cool but it's so rare they will have more than 4 Pokemon between them. I don't really grind but I've always found the villains really easy. It'd be nice to emerge triumphant and taking a deep breathe of relief.

[QUOTE=Hydrohs;11261277]Gamefreak isn't trying to get you to relate to the characters they're trying to have you play the game how you want it, it's kind of a linear-open concept. If that makes any sense.

Yeah, but so many games do that better Fallout is a good example

I think that'd be cool. It's kind of weird how your Player just sort of stands in one place for hours.

NPCs like you rivals, evil team and some more say hi, but yeah, I want other NPCs, eg. the nurse and Bill, to also be in different places. an example of this's that the Bill's PC can't be used at a certain time due to Bill taking a break, and for the Pokécenter so may it be closed at a certain time due to the nurse not working, the same for pokémart/department store

I know others (and myself) have suggested making geodude, zubat, and machop only obtainable after the national dex (and making them rare even after that) but there are some other pokemon who haven't been suggested who should also wait until the national dex is obtained. Tentacool and Wingull (If I have to surf long water routes I don't want to see the same sprite and hear the god aweful cry every 30 seconds). Also Goldeen, Magnemite, Voltorb, Magikarp and Pikachu have been in each generation. I say we let some pokemon who only made an appearance in one generation get a turn. Lets see Zangoose, Seviper, Cacturne, Eggsecute, Miltank, Diglett, Trapinch, Drifloon, and others who rarely appear in the pre elite 4 story.

What I'd like to see is the Pokeradar return. It's very useful in EV training and the shiny aspect is worthwhile as well. Also, I'd like to see something similar to the Poketch in the new games. There was no point in making the menus all touch screen in HG/SS, because it is slower to navigate than the menu in D/P/Pt.

No.

#1: What's SMT? (just curious)
#2: Yeah, they've never had any pokemon that were that much of a pain to get. Do you have any idea how agonizing it always is for me to even find one of the Feebas fishing spots in my games? Do you have any idea how many ****ing hours I have lost trying to chain even a single shiny with the pokeradar (personal opinion: worst thing ever in the games; ironically I would be fine with it if it didn't supposedly raise your odds of getting shinies)?
Also, I may have been too vague; I'm not saying they should have a random hatch and a random evolution. They should still make special ways of influencing the evolution; it's bad enough trying to get the right Wurmple evolution in the MD games, I don't want another pokemon that has a completely random evolution.

Okay, I think this would be fun:

Defend your title as champion.

Now and then a challenger will show up to challenge you, after you've earned the title. Maybe you don't have to fight at all, maybe you have a certain period of time to accept the challenge before you automatically forfeit the title and you have to challenge again with the new champion.

I'm not a big fan of the touch screen in the first place, but when going though your bag, it displays six items at a time, which can become annoying if looking through your bag for a specific item, because there is a delay when going to the next group of items. In the old bag, you could see many of your items and it was much easier to scroll through. I also love having something useful on the touch screen like the Poketch over menu options, because it had many uses, such as use for finding roaming Pokemon and determining happiness, as well as the counter app and calculator for EV training and egg count. The classic menu is greater than the touch screen one to me.

I have a couple of things I'd like to see in Black and White.

1. The return of the Underground. It was a great addition in the 4th gen. Imagine what could happen with it in the 5th. Love to see how they'd upgrade it if in the new games.
2. Can we please get a water/fire, grass/fire pokemon? I would have thought these would have come out by now, hopefully this generation will introduce them.
3. Kanga-kid anyone? I have always found it weird that Kangaskahn had a baby yet no baby "trully" existed. Would love to finally get one. Also if we did, possibly give the baby a split evo? fighting/normal kangaroo pokemon if male?
4. Finally I have always though that that pinsir and heracross were related. (Actually I am pretty sure I once read that Heracross was originally gonna be an evo for pinsir but it was decided to be just a stand alone pokemon). Anyways, Id love to have a baby pokemon that would connect the two ( and maybe scyther).

I fail to see how fusions in Pokemon would be "fun". You'd not only lose two Pokemon, but you'd take what is supposed to be the equivalent of two animals (say, a duck and a squirrel) and mixing their genes together to make some sort of mutated monster (a squck). That doesn't sound fun to me.

1) Snowyarticuno explained it pretty well, and if you'd like to try it, I'd recommend Devil Survivor on the DS or the Personas on PS2.
2) I agree that Feebas is a pain to get, but can be reasonably done in 1-2 hours which is a while. No one is forcing you to chain for shinies, consider that of a "perk" to chaining. A more fitting example would be ease of getting Radar exclusives, which is pretty easy. But I'm guessing what your saying is breed Ledyba(example only) with X incense to get New Pokemon 1. And New Pokemon 1 evolves to New Pokemon 2 at level 25, but can evolve into New Pokemon 3 with a Thunderstone. Is this what your saying should happen? Computer has glitched three times writting this, so instead of sentances, I'm writing bullets.

-A jynx evo and a scyther preevo. Because Magmar and scyther have them, and it'd just be mean to keep the other two original humanesques out in the cold.
-An absol evo. Because black and white motif fits perfect.
-A tropius preevo and evo.
-A city that requires scaling multiple waterfalls to get to. Like, go up one, surf across a small pool, go up another, ect.
-A pure flying type
-A new fire/dark

@grei: dude, that's called a platypus.
And to all of you mentioning SMT fusion, no. Because for that to happen, either they would fuse into a preexisting pokemon, and that would be lame, or into a new one, meaning the developers can't make as many naturaly obtained ones.

Since several species of plants need fire to germinate, flower, or fruit I'm also a big fan of the idea of a Grass/Fire type. This type of dependency on fire is usually found in grasslands which are prone to fires, so if they had a big grassland area I would hope to see something based on the concept.

Water/Fire is another one of my hopes, they could base it on fire coral, or deep sea volcanic vent animals maybe? :D

I guess Fire/Water and Grass/Fire haven't been done before because at first glance they sound like total opposites that could never coexist together. But they do already in nature so hopefully we'll see pokemon reflect those combinations.

Replace HMs with Key Items. It'll never happen, but as long as we're wishing.

Cut - Axe
Fly - Saddle (For sitting on Flying Pokémon. Only works if you have a Pokémon that can Fly)
Surf - Surfboard/ Inflatably Dingy
Strength - Gloves (No idea)
Defog - Fan
Whirlpool - Advanced Surfboard/ Dingy
Rock Smash - Hammer
Waterfall - Water Jet for Surfboard/ Dingy
Rock Climb - Climbing Gear.

That, or instead of HMs, have a NPC that 'teaches' you how to perform the HM, and get a Key Item like a "Cut Diploma" or "Surf Diploma", allowing any Pokémon that fits to surfing, flying, cutting, etc catergory to perform the HM moves.

An example I thought of a long time ago is a new "cosmic pokemon" that can be obtained 2 ways: use a Moon Stone on Solrock, or use a Sun Stone on Lunatone. They would need another thing added to it, like some item that the pokemon needs to be holding or limiting it to a particular location, because Solrock, Lunatone, the Moon Stone, and the Sun Stone already exist.
Another example is a new electric-type that can be obtained by trading a Plusle with a special item for a Minun with a different special item; after the trade, both pokemon evolve simultaneously. It's almost like the already suggested concept of fusion evolutions, but with both pokemon evolving, resulting in two copies of the evolution.

That's basically what I was thinking about. They wouldn't even need to go as far as making new baby pokemon; now they could make links between older pokemon by giving them common evolutions, not just common prevolutions like Tyrouge.

P.S.: Another idea I had a few years ago, but am almost afraid to even pitch, is an ultimate Eeveelution that can be obtained by evolving any one of the other Eeveelutions. It would be great for surprising your opponents because when you summon it your opponent will have to hope that the Eeveelution it had evolved from wasn't one with attacks that are strong against them.

Two reasons why I disagree:
-That would be so annoying having to always have the sound turned up. That's something I've enjoyed about Pokemon games, they can easily be played on mute.
-There would probably be enough room on the DS card for that (not quite sure) but imagine how long it would take for the translations. I bet it would be awfully difficult for Game Freak to find voice actors that speak in a multitude of languages within the amount of time that games are typically released.

I'm pretty sure a DS cart doesn't have the room for voice-acted tracks for all an RPG's dialogue, but it would be viable to have the occasional utterance-- a surprised "Wah!" from our hero, or an evil laugh from a villain-- wordless sounds that wouldn't need translation. I strongly believe we need a Mawile evolution. It just sits there. the only way I can have a balanced Mawile would be if I played Explorers of Time. We also need shorter trade times. Much shorter. I really don't think it would take 2.5 minutes to send some data between games. They should also come out with (as a pre-order bonus or something) all of the GBA Pokémon games on one or two DS game cartridges, with the ability to trade using DS wireless communications, instead of having to pull out the SP. Similar to what they did with The God of War franchise with the God of War collection. Just a thought. We also need a Mightyena evolution. That would be the coolest chain ever. Just a thought.

-Bring back the Underground or revamp it a little bit. I liked evolution stones en masse, and speaking of

- More character development for the larger characters. Although this seems like an inevitability.

I would hope for Mawile's evolution to be pure steel. Not just because pure steel types are so rare, but that a Dark/Steel would have way too many weaknesses to cover with any berry. Though, that would make it closer to its counterpart Sableye!

I actually really like the idea of a "Cyberspace" area. They could invent a few more man-made Pokemon (not like Mewtwo, more along the lines of the Porygon's] and have us be able to hack into the enemy's headquarters that way, instead of beating a low-rank grunt and him running off, dropping a key. Or worse, an EXECUTIVE [*cough*Lambda*cough) flat out GIVING you the key.

Mawile/Qwilfish/Sableye Evolutions.
A giant mountain bigger than Mt. Silver.
A trio of Dragons.
Ghost/Fighting Eeveelutions with more use than Glaceon/Leafeon.
Some more abilities like Flash Fire/Volt Absorb.
That is what is needed.

We can have a trio of dragons, as long as they're not legendary. I love dragons, but the Uber tier is clogged with them. We need more and more diverse non-legendary dragons.

We could have something like the underground in DP, but Wi-Fi

Just a thought..... other RPGs have you battling more than one enemy. Maybe for a "boss" battle they could have a few of the evil teams grunts gang up on you? And no I'm not talking about you send out two pokes they send out two pokes. I'm talking you send out your one beefy starter (cause whoo uses a team in the game really? ha ha) versus five other pokemon. Five on one. or two on one or whatever. just a concept.

another thing the franchise really needs is more cut scenes. Not just a sprite runs left to right says something then you run somwhere and they move somewhere else and something is said.... Lame.... I'm talking more like when Rayquaza descends to stop Kyogre and Groudon in emerald. And I KNOW i'm not the only one who thinks this when I say that the best part of the entire pokemon series is the cut scenes when Lugia and Ho-oh enter for battle on HG SS....

Wouldn't that basically be the Wi-Fi plaza?

three posts, good job (Y)
yeah that sounds sweet, but if they're going to have a 5 vs. 1, then they might as well have an all 6 vs. 6 mode. >.< which I couldnt see working at all. CUT SCRENS WOULD BE GREAT. I want cut sceens.

There will not be handicap battles unless you have a fewer amount of Pokemon than the other trainer.

yeah triple post.... computer fail.... and I'm not saying it has to be five on one. I was just accentuating the concept because i cant count the times my double battles were won by only one pokemon lol

Not to flame you or anything, but only noobs use their starter only in the game. I used a full-fledged six Pokemon team in both HG/SS, look at my signature!

Something like that, but bigger, and we would be able to trade and battle.

I think this would be cool. Not 5-on-1 (because the battle screen isn't big enough for that), but possibly a 2-on-1 with the grunts. Of course, if this were ever to happen, it'd be a one-time thing--usually, when two enemies (grunts or admins of the criminal group) gang up on you, a NPC comes dashing in to level the playing field. Lance did in HGSS, Barry/Jun/Blond-haired rival did in DPPt, etc. (I don't know if it's ever happened at any other point in time).

I like the Pokemon franchise's version of a "cutscene". I feel like there could be more done with them, but as they are now it's fine.

As for the special sequences that you're talking about--Rayquaza descending and Lugia/Ho-oh appearing--those should remain special and only happen once or twice per game. I think, if there's a Legendary Trio (think Raikou, Entei and Suicune) or even just assorted, fixed Legendaries, it'd be cool for them all to have special animated sequences just before you battle them, and not just the box Legendary.

Speaking of which, I hope the "box Legendary" is done away with this time around. I hope that, instead, a Pokemon that is significant and yet not Legendary appears--along the vein of the Starters in the first Generation. Maybe, if there are Yin and Yang Pokemon that aren't Legendary, they can appear on the boxes.

Something instead of the Legendary-focused storyline this time, please.
