Posting this now in order for me not to be rushed when the coverage does begin later this week.

This thread will be where myself or other members of the staff will post our discoveries within the game. We have a good team once more so should be able to ace everything again

I'll keep you posted on all the discoveries we make, minor and major and I'll be constantly updating this thread and the site (and quite possibly my Twitter, depends if I can be bothered). However, like the past discovery threads, this thread is just for us posting so please use the following discussion thread; http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=466227

I hope you enjoy our complete coverage. With DP, Plat and HGSS, we were the fastest and most thorough on the entire Internet and I am not about to let that change at all

Right kids, it's that time of year.

Team Serebii will be covering all aspects of the game and posting it here so please bear with us. This coverage will be massively in-depth and will last several weeks.

All that we discover will be here. We hope to have the Pokédex up this weekend and get everything for you ASAP.

Allons-y!

Just having my little input here too.

You can't trade until you've obtained the C-Gear, and that's after beating the first Gym. As stated previously, you'll face the waiter that has the elemental monkey that has a type advantage against you.

Yet, the game lets you win easily. At the entrance of the Abandoned Land of Dreams, a girl will give you the monkey that has a type advantage against the Gymleader's.

Just got my Liberty Ticket. Can't access the island til I get to Hiun though :(

Did the stupid and tedious thing to transfer all 3 starters to one game. Slow progress.

Arty2 just told me he can't find the Global Link abilities in the game's code. This means that they can choose whatever they wish for abilities

I also fixed the stat error

Some basic run through to where I am now:

Kanako Town
- get Starter and battle your rivals
- get Pokedex from Aaragi
- venture out to Route 1

Karakusa Town
- let Aaragi show you the PokemonCenter
- see Team Plasma speak, and fight N
- head up to Route 2, battle Belle again

Sanyou City
- battle Cheren in Pokemon School
- beat the Sanyou Gym (you can get the type advantage monkey on the Abandoned Land of Dreams on the right first)
- after you beat the Gym, Makomo will tell you about the dreamworld and the C-gear. She gives you HM01 and you can cut the tree blocking the entrance of the Abandoned Land of Dreams now
- rescue Munna from the TP grunts. Musharna appears and they leave behind the Dream Smoke for Makomo
- C-gear activated back at Makomo's place
- head out to Route 3

Shippou City
- not much here actually, just head to the Museum, the Gym is inside. You'll need to get through a little quiz in the library first though... kinda hard if you don't read Japanese becoz of the sequence you access the shelves
- when you solve the quest a doorway appears and you go down to challenge Aloe the Gymleader
- Team Plasma steals the head of the dragon fossil, Arty of Hiun Gym visits, and together with Aloe, Cheren and Belle, you go after Team Plasma in teams
- head to the Yaguruma Forest to find Team Plasma

That's how far I am now.
Tabunne shares certain traits of Chansey that it is actually on every route in Isshu. It just has a very very low chance of appearing. While walking, sometimes one patch of grass will be shaking (like the Pokeradar back in DPPt), you have higher chances of running in Tabunne in that patch when it appears. I just found one inside the Yaguruma Forest. Not sure about its catch rate but it didn't run away and I caught it in one Pokeball.

Right, back online. Been working on the Dex with Arty2. He's taking it slow so please be kind with us. We should have a full dex up this weekend.

Just got my Boappu :)

Coronis
17th September 2010, 10:28 PM
Not much of a showdown with Team Plasma. Just face a series of grunts and after you beat the last one, he returns the fossil to you. One of the 7 sages of Team Plasma appears though, named Asura.

Arrived in Hiun City now. Kinda hard to navigate around in the city with all the angling. The Sky Arrow Bridge is basically just for visual effect from what I see. No battles take place on it, you just watch the scenery pass by as you walk by.

Got on Liberty Island, just some Team Plasma grunts again guarding the way to Victini. It says a rich merchant built this big mansion to hide Victini many years ago to protect it. It's at level 15, knows Confusion, Burn-out, Endure and Quick Attack.

Stopping here tonight.

In the left & right rooms, you will find numerous Plasma Grunts talking about N. However, you need to go beyond these rooms and climb the stairs. In the first room you'll find a lab with a PC to exchange your Pokémon. Bring your best for this fight. Keep climbing the stairs and you'll encounter more of the Dark Trinity and they will point you to N's Toy Room where a Rare Candy is.

The menu sound effects come straight from RSE as well I might add, pretty sure. (Friend did a comparison check).

The sleeping animations for Pokemon put to sleep is a nice touch I'll add, and N's themes scream 'I'm evil look at me'.

Each town (thus far anyways) also seems to have a few people sitting by/holding instruments - talk to them and they'll add their instrument to the town's theme music. Nice touches here and there have to say.

Just transferred my Movie Celebi and beasts over to BW. The Zorua event takes place inside the GameFreak building in Hiun City (alleyway to the right of the PokemonCenter, building on the right). There will be a 'lost child' standing next to a girl, but before you have Celebi in your team, the boy doesn't speak. When you have Celebi in your team, he reverts back into Zorua. The girl claims that Zorua must have been waiting for its friend Celebi here and Hiun.

Different from previous 'gift' Pokemon, you actually need an empty Pokeball to get Zorua. Thus, you can have Zorua in any kind of Pokeball you want :)

Haven't gotten very far yet, so I can't get to the Zoroark event.

Edit: Oh, and in the info of these movie Pokemon (where they list the nature), there is actually additional lines to suggest where you bring them. For Celebi, it suggests you bring it to Hiun, and for the beasts, it suggest you take them to the Lost Forest.

It releases a photon lazer/flare bomb (can't find a great translation but think light and bullet/bomb) at the opponent. Its type changes according to the cassette being held.

There's also an attack called Ancient/Antique Song that I think might be Meloetta's. Has a chance of putting opponents to sleep.

Got to the Zoroark event too.

To the north of Route 16, there is the Lost Forest. It's actually just a very small area. You will see one of those holiday-trucks at the end of the road, and a woman inside who speaks nothing like the Zorua child. A hiker outside will comment that the woman likes silence.

If you have the movie legendary beast in your party, when you get close to the truck, the woman will get into a frenzy and come screaming at you, starting the challenge. As we already know, she turns into the beast that has a type advantage against you (except Entei > Raikou of course). Capture it or defeat it, and then the whole truck area will vanish, revealing a normal grassland.

The hiker will appear again and comment that Zoroarks sometimes like to disguise their habitat as desolated so as to drive people away.

One important thing about these event activators. They are only single-use, and I mean the Pokemon itself. Once a Celebi has activated a Zorua event in one game, it cannot activate other Zorua events even when traded to another game. The same goes for the beasts. The extra line in their info I mentioned about, which prompts you to take them to the respective event areas, will change after the event is activated.

For Celebi, before activation, it says 'Take it to Hiun City and see what happens'. After it activates Zorua, it will change to 'It has successfully met its friend Zorua at Hiun City'.

For the beasts, prior to activation, it says 'Take it to the Lost Forest and see what happens'. Afterwards, it will become 'It has successfully broken the illusion at the Lost Forest'. (Note: if you have all 3 beasts, only the first one in your party will get 'deactivated', essentially the one that affects Zoroark's appearance during the battle. The other two remain 'activable')

So, in other words, you can't share your Celebi / beast with your friends. They're one off in terms of event activation.

Feebas no longer evolves into Milotic solely by Beauty. Instead, as there is no way to increase the Beauty stat within this game, they've added a new evolution method to evolve Feebas. Now, to get Feebas wthout a high Beauty condition (those with it who have been Pal Parked over will still evolve) to evolve, you need to find the item known as; "Clean Scales", attach it to Feebas and trade it. This will evolve Feebas.

Thanks to Kein and Veekun who extracted the text dump of BW, there are a few interesting things found (partly covered by Kein already).

1) Meloetta's usual forme is called the Voice Forme while the red one is called the Step Forme. From the text, it seems that when you bring Meloetta (presumbly distributed in future movies) to the Cafe in Hiun City, it will trigger an event from the guitarist. He will offer to teach your Meloetta the move 'Ancient Song'. With this move, Meloetta will be able to switch between its 2 formes. Whether this works like a field-move or in-battle way, I have no idea.

Some 'background' on Meloetta according to the guitarist's speech, I'm quoting him directly.

"Beautiful melodies will bring people happiness while sad ones will bring people down. That is the power of a melody. The scent of luck that breezes around you has made me remember this melody from the depths of my memory. This is a song that my mother loves... an ancient nostalgia... please listen to it. From what my mother told me, a Pokemon who played the melody danced its light steps to fill people's hearts. However, when the world was drowned in sorrow, this Pokemon lost its melody, and the 'Red Shoes' were also gone... When you walked through that door, I remembered this melody. The Pokemon started dancing its steps to its lost melody again. You brought in this, you are an amazing kid."

2) Keludio was raised by the 'musketeer' trio when it became an orphan due to an forest fire in the past. The in-game event a Keludio triggers apparently involves you bringing all three members of the trio with you, and together they will teach Keludio the move 'Secret Sword', normally not learnable in-game.

3) Genosect was supposed to be revived from a fossil and powered up by Team Plasma to create the most powerful Pokemon ever. However, N despised of the project because he felt that any Pokemon tampered with science has lost its pureness, which was why the project was abandoned. But the scientist kept working on it, and he's still upset that N denied of his talent. Anyway, beating the Scientist will let you get the Cassettes to change its move's type.

4) The secret of the Lock Capsule may finally be solved, although we still don't know where to get the Lock Capsule. In one of the buildings in Hiun, there is a guy who called himself Mr. Lock. When you bring the Lock Capsule to it, it will unlock TM 95 (Bark Out), a dark type special move that can lower the opponent's special attack. The text that comes with unlocking the Capsule says, "This TM was stored in this Lock Capsule to bestow upon a trust-worthy Isshu trainer, it must not end up in the hands of people like Team Rocket for evil deeds'.

No text involves Kyurem so far though.

Oh, and Caitlin does mention about the Johto/Sinnoh Battle Castle when you visit her where you meet Cynthia apparently. She simply asks if you know of this place, but it's good enough evidence that it was the same person.

To change Rotom's form, you need to go into the room on the bottom floor of the Department Store in Route 9. There, you'll find a storage box. Interact with the box and you can select the form of which you wish Rotom to take.

To change Deoxys' form, you need to take Deoxys to the Shippou City museum. One of the museum exhibits is a meteor. With the meteor, you have the ability to cycle through Deoxys' forms; Normal -> Attack -> Defence -> Speed

Spent the last couple hours on it but I solved the underwater ruins. The steps you take are what matters

In the first floor, you have to get to the middle of the room and interact with the pillar. It'll move and take you to the next floor.
In the second floor, you have to follow yourself round to the exits. Another pillar will block your way but use Flash on it
In the third floor, you'll have to go around once more and use Strength on another.
Finally, in the fourth room you'll get through and find the Ancient Crown.

In addition to the Ancient Crown, you can find numerous other Ancient items.

Still working on translations of the cuniform, but I'll make a page and detail the items ASAP
