The game is out and a number of themes can now be listened to on youtube to boot, so have a music discussion thread as well! Say if you like it/hate it/undecided, why, and so forth.

Some examples:

A [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dGwRXa9koE"]Champion Battle Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIRGuwLLjqg) (which just might sound familar =p And is imo a good tune)

N Battle Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jItfcIYLhSo&feature=related)

Something I found extremely awesome: in the second town, there's a couple in house playing the piano and drums. You can ask each of them to play for you and they'll join in with the background music. Fantastic.

Fantastic.Apparently it's not only there, but in other towns, too, although I have yet to find whether that is correct or not.

I absolutely adore the Team Plasma battle music. It's so vibrant! :D

The other musics are pretty damn good, too, although I find the general wild Pokémon battle music have a more 'legendary' touch' to it. I don't know why, it just feels so.

I'm loving the Team Plasma theme. I mean I watched a video of fighting a Plasma Grunt. He had a freaking Minezumi. And yet this theme made fighting that Minezumi epic winsauce.

In the videos of the Reshiram battle I've seen, this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ81fUspYBI) music was playing. I think it's pretty poor compared to some of the other battle themes, it's far too chirpy and upbeat, the general trainer theme is more dramatic imo.

My favourite piece of music I've heard so far is the Diving Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dcP8vdspmI&feature=related) . Though I've yet to hear many of the town themes....

Something about the "Wild Pokemon" theme reminds me of Hoenn's "Wild Pokemon" theme. Perhaps it is due to the drums and beats? It's music to my ears. And if anyone wants to know, Play Asia has the soundtrack dated for October 20th.

The music is ok in some places, and great in others. I feel like Game Freak put more work into composing music for the cities rather than the routes because all the routes I've been to so far have generic music. The cities on the other hand, have some nice smooth music tracks playing. Shippou City's music is my favorite so far because it's calm and soothing and it changes when you walk near the cafe and it sounds French then :]

I'm liking the remixes of old music, they've really got a great style.

I so totally noticed that. The remixes for older themes actually sound a bit better than most of the original music in Pokemon Black and White. I wonder if that's a good thing? Anyway, is it just me or does the overall feel of the music in the Isshu region have this odd Hoenn vibe going on? It sounds soft and smooth, like many of the Hoenn music tracks felt.

I noticed that too, even though I only listened to one track briefly. In my opinion, it's a step in the right direction, as Hoenn had the best music (again, in my opinion). It was different than any of the other generations.

The music in this game is really wonderful. Now, I've always liked the pokemon in music, but B/W surprised me with how high quality and interesting some of the compositions were. I love all the character themes, especially N, Belle and Adek's. Oh, and the music during the battle with Geechisu? Amazing.

The music on the route just before the champion road may be my new favourite overworld music.

Oh, and is it just me, or does the last song played before the end credits sound ALOT like the love theme from MOTHER 3? That, combined with the actual ending actually made me shed a tear or two... Good Job Gamefreak!

Haha well if the rest of the music is going to sound like Hoenn's music, then even I can't complain much.

It's interesting though, there are places in the games where you encounter characters who will play an instrument that'll change the music a bit. Like in the city before Sanyou City, there is a couple who play the piano and the drums and it alters the music in the town to a beautiful melody. I also talked about a guy near the cafe in Shippou City who plays the acordeon and it changes the music too. I wonder if this is true for some of the cities encountered later in the games.

I'm interested in hearing the themes for each and every route and city. Specifically speaking, I understand the same way you feel about Hoenn. If you listen to the Wild Battle theme for instance, you'll hear. And the Hoenn Pokemon got new sprites.

The B/W tracks sound good and many of them have a very foreign or funky/poppy Western feel that fits with this new region.

As a Pokémon music composer (link in my sig)

I'd have to say that the music in Isshu is absolutely amazing, although I'm a bit disappointed with the Gym Leader Battle music (I do like the Trainer Battle "cameo" within the song, though.)

Overall, the overworld music is brilliantly atmospheric and wonderful.

My favorite Battle theme is the Wild Battle, hands-down. It's so simple, yet epic at the same time.

I've just arrived in Hiun City and I've had the chance to hear the music there. I have to admit, I am a little bit disappointed. I heard the Hiun City music back in March/April when Pokemon Sunday showed a video clip of the city and the music sounded great. Now however, it just sounds odd, like it's lacking a few good notes to make it more upbeat. Hiun City is such a busy place, I thought they'd update the music to make it faster-paced and more lively.

I just found a battle video VS the respective legend, it has the music in it, BEWARE: there is serious lag.
Also: if it wasn't obvious, spoiler alert.

Battle with Zekrom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwWvHwpbZNU)
And a battle with Kyuremu to show reshi and zek aren't the only ones with the theme. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tB41NnyVUhY)
So, no. what I poset earlier wasn't the legend theme. But The plasma lead doesn't share themes either.

I don't know if its been mentioned, but the E4 battle theme seems like a remix of the Hoenn E4 theme (the best in my opinion, although both DP and HGSS failed to give the E4 their own themes) in certain aspects.

This game is very reminiscent of RSE, IMO, and has plenty of hints toward remakes (not that we didn't know they were all coming. Great music, great game.

Hmm, it's ok I guess. I just heard it and it was better than most of the tracks I've heard in Black and White so far but it's not the best out there. I also just listened to the Hodome City track and it's interesting. Sounds very Japanese to me, kind of like something from Johto but with an added twist to make it modern at the same time. Sazanami Town's track sounds like it could be the new peaceful Snowpoint City theme music lol. It's just nice and pretty.

Woah, the ending credits theme is amazing! Its probably the best one! It's like power metal. I don't know, I've heard that Team Plasma theme too often lately and it's starting to annoy me lol. I think it sounds really cartoonish especially for a villianous theme song. The same goes for the Rival Battle theme music; it's just not serious and it probably should be. It sounds too light and friendly and it shouldn't since, despite Belle and Cheren also being your friends, there's nothing friendly about a serious battle.

Sekka, Raimon & Hodomoe city being my favorites in cities. Kanako town is relaxing, too.

Rare & Double wild pokemon battle is better than the normal one, and the trainer theme is the best of the series.

OH MY GOD, HODOMOE CITY!!!

God damn, what is it with this generation? It's doing to Hoenn what Hoenn did to Kanto. Kanto had amazing music, amazing Pokemon and was an amazing region. Johto came along and was cool and all, but had nothing on Kanto. Then, Hoenn comes along and the music, Pokemon and region are better than Hoenn. Sinnoh is similar to Johto whereby the music, Pokemon and region are cool and all, but nothing compared to Hoenn. Now Isshu is crapping all over Hoenn and I couldn't be happier.

Oh dear god, they need to have a RS remake and apply this awesome treatment to my (second) favourite region.

Seriously, I though nothing could be better than Lavender Town/Mt. Moon/SS Anne music, until Hoenn gave us Petalburg City/Sootopolis City/Diving music. Isshu is now blowing those all away too. I am so happy for this generation!

I adore the TP theme, although I can't say that I like it more than the TG theme. What can I say, TG's theme was THAT good.

I also like the low HP music in theory(mixing the beeps with the music so it's not totally annoying? Yes!), but in practice it's really jarring unless you're in the habit of keeping low HP Pokemon switched in, unhealed, for more than 15 seconds. I'm not, so my battles generally go "normal theme->LOW HP! Cue the beepy mus- ->wait, you healed! switch right back to the normal music." It gets rather annoying after the first three times you notice the sudden music changes.

I'm really starting to love the Gym Leader theme.

Oh so am I! At first I just thought it was fine but after battling Kamitsure, I'm starting to like it. It just has this odd feel to it that I'm starting to like. It's not as grand as some of the other Gym Leader themes but it's better than most of the stuff I've heard so far. Raimon City's theme gets on my nerves now though. It's just not the kind of music I thought I'd find there. I'm just disappointed that so far, Black and White's music hasn't been as good as I thought it would be. I still haven't found "that" track yet; the perfect track of music in these games.

If someone can answer this for me, that would be greatly appreciated; what is the deal with everyone removing their videos of the music for Black and White? I have no idea what the fuss is with this. It seems everywhere I go, Black and White are gradually being removed.

That being said, I do believe that there are a few tracks that I'm really starting to enjoy. Also, I need links to the city themes. I haven't heard many, if at all any yet.

Most probably due to Nintendo's witch hunt, reporting and threatening people in a subtle way to please no t distribute anything of the new BW games. No sprites, no scans, no music, no nothing more than the exchange of words you can manage.

It sounds so Hoenn-like to me for some reason, but with a hint of Generation 5; it's a prefect blend of new and old I think. It's certainly one of the few themes in these games that has charm as some of the others are just a little bit bland.

Also, after having found the entire soundtrack, I'm really digging the bridge themes. Hodome's bridge theme is ridiculously long though; 22 min!

Yeah, I'm really enjoying B/W's music. Very different, but at the same time, I like how it fits.

I mean, this is pretty much the first time the Credits literally have an epic kind of music, the sort which you only see in action films that end with a giant cliffhanger (like this game, really), so I wouldn't put that soft, smooth piece of music in there for the life of me. I have to say, that many of the tracks from BW (heck, even the route themes) have an almost "epic" feel to them. That's something you hardly got with DPPt. And... I think there was at least 2 or 3 epic route tracks to HGSS. So BW has the best OST yet.

The city has a different appearance depending on the version. White's Souryuu seems more rural than Black's, which is a lot more modern IIRC.

Here's my reaction to all of the city themes:

Kanoko Town sounds really peaceful, and perfect for the starting town. It sounds like music that describes a lazy summer afternoon. I was reminded of Twilight Town from KH2 when I heard this, in a good way. I picture a sunset when I think of this.

Karakusa Town sounds busy and bustling, while still sounding simple. Which is fitting, since it's the first town after the hometown. It's very... chipper.

Kanawa Town is... alright. It sort of gives me again the same feelings Kanoko Town gave me. Sounds simple and certain parts sort of remind me of Sinnoh, if only vaguely.

Kagome Town is peaceful. I picture night time when I hear this. It reminds me of the Sims music, almost. I like it, although it's not one of my favorites. It's a little bland, but I don't know how well that may fit in with the town's layout and theme.

Sanazami Town ~Spring, Autumn, Winter~ sounds even more peaceful than the last. It reminds me of ending credit music. The waves are soothing and the xylophone is calming. You think the music is about to end and then a wave sounds and another soft chime from the xylophone is heard. The music ebbs and flows, much like the water.

Sanazami Town ~Summer~ gives me a tropical island feel above everything else. Contrary to the town's Spring, Autumn, and Winter theme it's much more energetic and makes me think of summer parties on the beach. It's fun and playful and much brighter-sounding. I think of the color yellow and pineapples when I hear this.

Sanyou City is... sounds much more formal than Sanazami's Summer theme. It reminds me of a dance or ball (waltz came to mind, specifically). It's otherwise a little bland.

Shippou City somewhat calmer-sounding. Reminds me of some of the earlier towns. I picture a city kind of like Jubilife, but at sunset when I hear this.

Hiun City's theme is very upbeat and catchy. I like that, in the city that's supposed to represent New York City's downtown areas, the main melody is heard from a saxophone. I felt that was very fitting (considering you'd hear a saxophone quite often from street performers). It's cheery and definitely reminds me of a big city with lots to do.

Raimon City gives me another downtown city picture, but with the nightlife town thrown in--I pictured lots of flashing lights from casinos, hotels, bars, theatres, clubs, and so on when I first heard this theme. It's very catchy and while it's upbeat, it almost has a darkness to it's tone in some way.

I was honestly confused when I heard Hodomoe City's theme. It sounds distinctly Asian, which is odd to hear in a game that's supposed to be set in a America. It honestly reminded me of Ecruteak when I first heard it. I don't know how the town is lain out--is it like Chinatown or something? I just felt it didn't quite fit in with the rest of the themes.

Fukiyose City definitely gave me Hoenn vibes. The trumpet and... something else just completely reminded me of Hoenn. I kind of liked it. It sounded so very high-tech. The parts that didn't remind me of Hoenn kind of reminded me of Megaman Battle Network.

Sekka City sounded simple and again reminded me of islands again. Which is probably way off, but that's just what it reminded me of. It was simple and heavily contrasted Fukiyose's high techno themes.

Souryuu City (Black). Wow. If Fukiyose didn't make me think of MMBN, then this one definitely did. It was so upbeat and high-tech sounding. I really liked it. On the flipside,

Souryuu City (White) definitely seemed sad-sounding. I pictured a city in shambles and ruins, as if some sort of force had recently devastated the community. It seemed to be a mournful tone. However, I also took it to simply sound more natural and less techno. The violin is just so mournful.

Contrary to Black's Souryuu City theme, Black City sounds sort of foreboding. As if danger and darkness is looming at any given corner. It also sounded a little mournful but was overall more fearful than anything.

White Forest, contrasting Souryuu's White theme, is very simple and upbeat. It sounds like one is going on a big adventure through a playful jungle, I think. It also sounds very natural compared to Black City (which is likely the point).

Kanoko Town: Very peaceful, reminiscent of Animal Crossing. Fits the starting town perfectly, now all I need to do is start my game in the evening to fit the tune xD
Karakusa Town: Suburban sounding, but not overly so. A nice relaxed sort of sound. Not one of the best.
Kanawa Town: Very Rural sounding. Peaceful, small town sort of vibe. I guess it's nice, but again, there are much better tracks.
Kagome Town: I love the guitar sound in this one (: its such a nice sounding song. One of the best town themes.
Sanazami Town: My personal favourite. In Summer, extremely upbeat and holidayish. In the other seasons, it sounds like anime background music, like a farewell, the end of summer, which is perfect.

Sanyou City: I don't really like this one. It sounds really... off, for Pokemon music, like a carnival, but crap. Definitely my least favourite city.
Shippou City: Nice and peaceful. Love the accordion (: it just seems to fit the vibe the town gives me, which is good.
Hiun City: While I don't really like this music that much, it does fit Hiun City well. I like the saxaphone, and the organ in the background really gives it a nice sound.
Raimon City: A very upbeat song, with an awesome drum part. It really does fit the carnival atmosphere of Raimon City well, and I can see it being one of the most memorable tunes.
Hodomoe City: Ridiculously cool, I love how it sounds. Though rather than sounding western, it has a distinctly Japanese feel, which I like quite a lot. Reminds me of Ranma 1/2.
Fukiyose City: Not one of my favourites. It has good parts, and the synth part reminds me of Mario Galaxy xD All in all, not a bad song, but not great.
Sekka City: Another great track, it really fits the area. Love the percussion and the accordion parts. Really makes me think of a peaceful place (:
Souryuu City Black: So upbeat and techno. I love how it's got that upbeat feel but also a mournful tone to it. Makes me happy, and fits the town well.
Souryuu City White: One of the most emotional pieces, and it really suits Souryuu City because of that. I love how it sounds! So happy, yet sad xD
Black City: Bowser's Castle 64? A nice track, certainly suits the atmosphere.
White Forest: Not much to say. Makes me think a little of Forest Haven.

Other Favourites: Route 10, which is like Dragon Roost Island, but amazingly Pokemon, Ancient Castle, which is full of emotion, N's Theme, so creepy :D, Ancient Times, a real accomplishment.

My favourite piece in the whole game has to be N's Farewell. It amazed me. The most emotional Pokemon song ever. I love it so much.

The battle themes are amazing, except Gechisu's theme. Sounds crap, just like Arceus' theme. I never liked that. Oh well, I guess I'm just not into the heavy percussion.

Here's my overall opinion on the new Black and White music tracks. I'm going to review all the cities I 've been to first though, and not routes or caves or anything more really.

Kanono Town: Nice and soothing, but maybe a little too calm after a while. It's not the adventurous theme music I had in mind but it's still pretty darn decent in it's own right. I like to hear it at night usually.

Karakusa Town: I dislike this one since it feels so terribly bland! I think the only way to really enjoy this track is to have the two characters with the piano and drums play in the background otherwise this would be the worst music from any Pokemon games, ever.

Sanyou City: Sounds too French. It would have been a good thing if they had included some different musical instruments but the way it sounds now if just not as exciting as I would have liked. First Gym town's should have vivid music and not something so bland.

Shippou City: It has a nice refreshing Jazz sound I think. It's soothing, but not overly like the Kanoko Town theme. This one sounds more smooth and not as forced as the previous music tracks sounded. I like this theme, very pleasant on the ears haha.

Hiun City: One of my favorites from the beta stages of the game (when the game footage was first shown) but is now my least favorite. Catchy yes, but still pretty annoying after a while. For a large city, the music is a disappointment really. So much potential in this city too...

Raimon City: A bit more of an upbeat tone and not in an annoying way. It matches the city's theme of electricity and power in my opinion. Not my favorite theme of course, but it gets the job done well. I think it's up there with some of the other "electrifying" beats. Haha.

Hodomoe City: Oh this theme music! About time we got something different and not the generic music we'd expect to hear in a region based on the U.S. I love this theme, though not as much as before. At first, it sounded awesome but now it's just great. Too much repetition of notes in my opinion but still better than the other music so far.

Fukiyose City: Sounds so freaking great. Futuristic, makes me think of Hoenn and Jimmy Neutron for some reason (probably the techno effect). I love the Hoenn feel this music track has the most though. A possible hint of a R/S/E remake? Just kidding, it's nice though, really.

Sekka City: Wow. After two hits, a miss! This one sounds too calm and almost Irish to me for some reason. I can imagine a wide open moorland and sheep when I hear this haha. It fits the peaceful city and all, but it's just too soft for such an important location in the games I think.

Souryuu City: Where have you been all my life? This (White) tone is a bit depressing especially when you have tons of stuff on your mind, but otherwise it's perfect. Although kind of quiet, it gives off an aura of finality, since this is the last Gym city in the Isshu region. The White theme is better than the Black theme I think.

Battle! Team Plasma : Yessssssssss. Just so much YES! I don't think I've ever like a battle theme this much since the original trainer battle theme from R/B. Really makes Plasma sound like serious stuff.

N's Farewell : Mother 3? Ololol. No. So...depressing. Easily the most emotional music Game Freak has put out so far.

Ride a Bike! : Not as good as the G/S one but nothing will ever beat that one~ It's still catchy though.

I have to say, that at first, I just wasn't feeling the whole vibe this game was giving off in terms of music, mainly because it just didn't sound like it. However, once I started to get some context to some of the themes (E4 battle, end credits, other stuff... <<... damn memory, oh wait, Raimon city, Hodomoe bridge, gear station, etc...), and once I started to really get a feel for the region, a lot of the themes started to really grow on me.

In fact, this might be one of GameFreak's best composed music yet. It's all a personal opinion, but as someone who really likes anything new (even though I do have a tendency to go back every once and again), I actually prefer most of the music here to that of gen 4 (barring, of course, HGSS). Although, I will admit that Platinum gave us the Distortion world and Giratina's theme. And let me say this: Giratina's theme is just crazy and fits it so well. Way better than Dialga/Palkia.

In fact, I found that gen III had the weaker tunes, but again, that's just preference.

Most of the battle music fits every setting so well. N's theme is mysterious, and you barely know about him. Elite four is dark and almost evil. Victory road really gives off a "The final road" feel. And the best song out of all, imo, is definitly the Legendary Battle theme, it's like...over 9000 times better then DPPt's generic legendary battle music. I couldn't help but remix it :D

Hodomoe's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVONYx7UD2w)is...odd. It makes me think of a Sonic game for some reason.

Aside from that, holy hell the new bike theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq0N4UcTr-U) rocks. And Geechisu's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFgFoomoI40)is...something. Omnious chanting? In MY Pokemon?

My favorite song is still N's Castle. It fits the mood of the climax so well, without giving away any spoilers.

Hodomoe isn't Pokemon-like? I don't know, it reminds me of Ecruteak City's theme music since both sound very Japanese to my ears. I thought Hodomoe's music was great because it sounded so familiar to me lol. I still don't get some of the other tracks like N's Castle, Team Plasma battle, and the Wild Pokemon battle music that plays when your Pokemon is injured; they just do nothing for me despite having heard them so many times :x

I wouldn't say B/W has the best soundtrack...only (of course) the most polished-sounding. The Kanto/Johto games (with Hoenn closely behind) have the best tunes in my opinion. Even without the technology to make them sound full or 'professional', those tunes were awesome and memorable. Don't know if I can say the same for many of these new pieces, but I'm sure they'll grow on me when I actually play the game and put events, places and 'faces' to the music.

I won't disagree, but BW's music is more of the "it may not sound great at first, but it does grow on you."

I actually only liked a handful of themes. After seeing what some of the cities and routes and whatnot looked like, and seeing the context, a great many of them started to grow on me.

I personally find this to be the best Pokemon soundtrack by far as there are really allot of themes that grab my attention whereas in previous games it'd normally be one or two. Emotion, The Elite Four and, well, anything involving Team Plasma and N are just a few of the songs that have been stuck in my head for the past couple of days but the two that really stick out to me are White Forrest (http://www.youtube.com/user/RadiantMiku#p/u/61/5OYRc-6vMZg) and Black City (http://www.youtube.com/user/RadiantMiku#p/u/60/KQ3PzgYN8BI). I mean talk about a tonal shift makes me wonder if the characters in said areas will react in different ways depending on your version.

FFFFFFFUUUUUU-

Lyrics in a Pokemon game soundtrack?! What will they do for the foreign release of the game? They'll probably have to change things around and either redub the vocals or remove the vocals entirely. It sounds way too Japanese though, even without the vocal part so maybe they'll replace this game theme with something else entirely in the end. Wow, that song is just so weird. I never thought I'd hear vocals in a Pokemon videogame music track.

Rakurai

I doubt they're going to do anything to it for the English release.

I don't see why anyone would care about it sounding "too Japanese", or not being able to understand the lyrics.

Localization. The people in charge of translating the games are supposed to remove Japanese text from the games and insert other text for the English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Korean versions of the games. I'm pretty sure that includes removing Japanese vocals from a song. The fact that the song cannot be understood by players of Black and White outside of Japan is more of a reason to remove the lyrics than anything else in my opinion.

I know I keep talking about it, but honestly, it's probably one of my favorite tracks because of how well it summarizes Black and White.

That track being: End Credits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3yYGioc7cY)

Considering this plays over a proper end credits, while you see either Zekrom (Black) or Reshiram (White) in the background, it really is an amazing track.

The bridge themes are pretty neat as well.

They kept Japanese Pokedex entries as well as nicknames in DPP for GTS purposes, so I'm guessing it'll be the same here.

Not to mention the whole game has a multi-cultural sort of theme to it in regards to the locations, NPCs, and such.

So, I pre-ordered a copy of the Black & White Soundtrack just after importing my copy of Black. And from what I've heard so far, it was money well spent.

I've got four badges so far, so I haven't heard everything yet, but highlights so far include:

Route 2 & 3: This is one of those songs that you just can't get out of your head, no matter how hard you try. It's just so perky!
Battle! Wild Pokémon!: Probably my favourite battle music after Johto's wild Pokémon music. The special Pokémon variant for wild double battles and special encounters is also pretty awesome.
Battle! Gym Leader - Last Pokémon!: SO MUCH WIN HERE. How do you make the fact that you're kicking a gym leaders' *** even more awesome? You set it to an incredibly heroic version of the Pokémon main theme, that's how. If this music doesn't get your adrenaline flowing, nothing will.

I can't really comment on starting town and Route 1's music, as I didn't really spend much time in those places. Once I earn the Fly HM, I'll go back and have a proper listen.

The BGM when the Gym Leaders shields you from the Sages (right after you enter N's castle) is EPIC.

IMO, a longer version of THAT should have been the opening theme for the game, not the crappy super short version we have now.

by the way, it's the same BGM as when the Gym Leader sent out their last Pokemon in battle.

I have to agree with Chris-kun; that was horrifying! Those English lyrics, in a Japanese Pokemon game were just weird to me. I know that there is a music track in Black and White that contains Japanese lyrics and is kind of odd too, but this takes the cake. I don't like it, it's just too weird for me to appreciate. That said, the entire endgame has incredible music, especially during the battles. Unfortunately, that also means a bad thing...the "oh no! I love the music in this gen! I usually hate a few tracks with a fiery passion, but I'm having a hard time hating any of it, since it's all good. Some of my favorites:

-Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyuremu battle music
-E4 Battle music
-Gym Leader (both before and at the final Pokemon) music
-N (all fights) battle music
-Geechisu Battle music
-Team Plasma Battle music
-Legendary battle music
-Hodomoe City theme (FREAKIN' LOVE THIS)
-Hodomoe City Draw Bridge theme
-Rival Battle music (hated it at first, but now love it)
-Route 10/Victory Road theme (especially when you're going through the gates)
-Underwater Ruins theme
-RBY Champion remix music
-Parts of the Isshu Champion music (I don't really like it though...)
-EVEN THE FREAKIN' RED-HEALTH BEEPING NOISE/MUSIC

I really hated fighting the Legendary PKMN/Gym Leader/Team Plasma/Geechsu/N/Rival battles because I knew that I wouldn't hear them again in the game after I got completely done with them (I can still hear the Rival music, but that's only once a week ;-;) So yeah... I liked a lot of music in BW.

I kind of disagree. I've yet to find any piece of music in Pokemon Black or White that really speaks to me in any significant way. I fell in love with many of the tracks in Pokemon Diamond upon hearing them once or twice but that hasn't happened to me while playing Pokemon White and I've listened to all the music at least 10 times by now. Some of the tracks are "pretty good" but not the "best" I've ever heard. I was planning on buying the music collection since there was so much hype for these games a few months ago but now, I'm not feeling it. I'm not importing a music CD when there isn't a single track of music that really catches my interest :s

Rai is Kyuremu and doesn't have a bit, instead changing the beginning part.

I find these themes so... strange. They seem more random than the Movepoke/Setpoke themes: while those two are "random" as they speed up and slow down the whole time, the dragons' themes are just... they sound like a mishmash of sounds. I don't know how explain, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, as the themes do sound good in the end. But it's not something like Dialga/Palkia's theme from DPPt or Giratina's from Platinum.

And lol the fiery/electric bits are almost unnoticeable. Those two themes could be a bit more diferent...

Curious, can you choose the battle music in multiplayer?

To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed with most of the music, aside from the final boss dude's theme that says "Penence" and the plasma theme. It all feels kind of the same and monotonus, and a little boring.

It's a tiny bit reminiscent of the music from the old Playstation game Croc.

I can't wait until the soundtrack comes out. I will order it from Amazon, along with the other soundtrack I am well overdue for buying, Ruby/Sapphire.

The music in the Isshu region so far has been very good. I'm barely in the town with the sixth gym badge but enjoyed a lot of the music the has to offer.

I will also purchase the soundtrack! It's phenominal with the themes for Village Bridge and Team Plasma being my favorites!

Has anyone listened to Meloetta's event music? There are some B/W Events videos on youtube that shows her event.

Is anyone else disappointed in the Champion battle theme?
Maybe I just need to listen to it again, since I like almost all the battle themes in B&W...

I've not seen a tracklisting for the soundtrack, but does anybody know if there are any vocal songs such as memory P on the FRLG soundtrack?

Why buy the game soundtrack though? The games will be out next year for those who don't have the Japanese version and you'll just be able to listen to the music while playing the games. I was going to buy the official Black and White music collection CDs but that just seems like a total waste of cash since I can just listen to them in the games. You can even listen to the music online on popular sites like YouTube, so I see no real need for the music CD.

There is a sort of song that is played under a bridge near the 8th town.

Sounds like something of the Enka genre.

I buy the game soundtrack because I enjoy the music. I am well aware of the fact I can listen to the music while playing the games (which I currently own and thus, already can listen to the music on them) as well as the fact there are various other means of listening to it. I also like quite a few different bands and while I know exaclty where to download the albums, I buy them if I really like them. Just because you see no real need, it does not mean there is no need for others.

I can not listen to it because I'm currently at work but when I get home, I will check it out. Enka is always something to appreciate.

That's perfectly alright. But, let me ask you something: have you played the games yet? If not, then that's alright, it might be a tad trickier to enjoy them. I find, personally, that due to being in a different country, the music is sort of a different style than what one would normally expect in a Pokemon game. I think that maybe part of the reason. I say this, because it took me a while to get to like a few themes as well (of course, the title of them helps).

Once that's figured in, you start to like a few more of them a bit more.

Haven't played that far, but according to the music pack I downloaded, it's called "Ancient Times". I can only guess that it might be played while one of the characters talks to you about a legend of sorts that's important to the plot of the game. That's my best guess.

edit: @O Fortuna: I know a site where you can download the entire OST of BW. It's how I got all mine. They apparently do a whole bunch of different OST rips.

It's used in meloetta's event, when she learns the move Ancient Song.
Thank you, I have been searching for it for a long time @_@

Oh, ok then. I was just saying that it seems a little odd for people to go out of their way and actually buy the CD of music, when the games will include that when they're purchased. I don't know too many people who can afford to import a CD from Japan, in this economy. That's all.

I've played the games and while I've enjoyed a few music tracks here and there, it's not enough for me to say that the music is a complete masterpiece of anything. I had that moment while playing Sapphire and even when playing Diamond, but not while playing White so far. I do like the diversity of music in the game though. It ranges from Asian-style music, to techno-style music which is cool.

Yea, if the soundtrack was released outside Japan I'd buy it!
But I know that won't happen...

Oh, no, I'm not implying that by any means.

I had that moment while playing Sapphire and even when playing Diamond, but not while playing White so far.
Strangely, I find about half of Sapphire's to be "meh", but Diamond had a few more memorable ones than it.

However, I find the BW have a uniqueness and more... "traditional" RPG aspect to the music that hasn't really been seen in the Pokemon series before, which (again imo) I think contributes to why some of them are more hit and miss than before.

That's a decent aspect that I like as well.

Another thing that I like are the "special" areas, like the towers, secret gardens and whatnot that have some really catchy tunes. Stuff that you wouldn't necessarily expect from the Pokemon games.

I find a big part of the reason why the music isn't catching as fast as past OSTs from Pokemon have, is because it's going for a more "overall" traditional approach instead of the "series" traditional approach; it's trying to make itself sound like your standard JRPG than a Pokemon game, and that's why I think some of the music isn't getting connected as fast as it should.

I'm sure once the NA version comes out, more people will like it.
