Hey,
Planning to get back into pokemon a little after a couple years, and I'm a noob now :P Just wondering..how does this team look? (In game/and battle team..have LOTS of neighbors who are competive :P)
The FIRST forms are mentioned..they will all be last forms though :P

Pidove OR Koaruhie OR koromori? Stuck on this choice.. Thinking of going pidove..as I catch it early on...but the others do have a helpful second type (water or psychic)..

Gamagaru (Evolves to Gamageroge)
Moves-
Muddy water
Drain punch
Hydropump
Mud shot

Pansage (Evolves into the leaf monkey thingy :P)
Moves-
Seed bomb
Crunch
Acrobat
Energy ball

Blitzle (Evolves into Zuburaika)
Moves-
Wild charge
Thrash
Thunder wave
Thunder bolt/Thunder

Kibago (Evolves into Ononokuso)
Moves-
Dragon Pulse
Outrage
Guillotine?
Dragon dance?

Tepig (fire starter)
Moves-
Flamethrower
Head smash
Fireblast
Hammer arm

Any changes i should make?
ALL tips would be appreciated :D

Read the rules and post movesets for your team, even if you think they're bad.

Ononokusu
Jolly Nature
~Dragon Claw
~Rock Slide
~Earthquake
~Dragon Dance

Dance once and proceed to sweep :p

Zeburaika
Mild/Rash/Naughty/Lonely Nature
~Wild Charge/Spark
~Return
~Overheat
~Quick Attack

Wild Charge/Spark is STAB, Return is a strong physical move, Overheat allows it to deal somewhat decent damage to Steels that carries Earthquake and cannot be hit by Wild Charge, Quick Attack is priority.

That's the only thing I can think of for Zeburaika, really. There's Pursuit, but ingame trainers rarely switch their Pokemon....

Oh! That's what I'm looking for :D Thanks..starting to remember how this works haha.. :P
Thanks a bunch!

And for flying..I think I'm going with Pidove..for now :P

Gamegeroge
Rash nature
Surf
Drain punch
Ice Beam
Earth Power/Earthquake

Surf gets perfect accuracy and field use. Ice Beam pwns grass types. Earth Power/Earthquake gives you ground type STAB take your pick.

Yanakkie
Adamant nature
Seed bomb
Crunch
Acrobat/Rock Slide
Brick Break

Brick Break hits steel types which would resist all of your attacks otherwise. Acrobat is a powerful flying move but Rock Slide hits all of your weaknesses except Poison.

Emboar
Rash/Mild nature.
Flamethrower
Head smash
Boiling Water
Hammer arm

Boiling Water catches ground types that might give you trouble.

Kenhourou
Jolly nature
Return
Aerial Ace
U-turn
Steel Wing/Quick Attack

Return is your best STAB, Aerial Ace is your best flying type STAB. U-turn gets you out of trouble. Steel Wing is the best move for the last slot but if you can't breed for it then Quick Attack should suffice.

BTW, Gamegaroge does not learn Ice Beam, Blizzard, or Waterfall. It learns Sludge Bomb and Slime Wave though.

Ditto123

@morning
thrash confuses the user
zeburaika is physical so y overheat?

gyaradosuseddragonrage!
12th January 2011, 4:40 PM
Only good Fire move is Overheat.

rocky505
12th January 2011, 5:27 PM
Only good Fire move is Overheat. nitro charge is a physical move though and gives it a speed boost. But Zeburaika has usable sp atk so a mixed set wouldn't hurt.

Zeburaika@ Leftovers
rash/mild
Wild Charge
return
overheat
quick attack/Hidden power grass

gyaradosuseddragonrage!
13th January 2011, 1:19 AM
Nitro Charge's power is too low, and since every other attack should be physical, Overheat is fine.

rocky505
13th January 2011, 3:51 AM
Nitro charge is not too low. And Nitro Charge raises speed but overheat however lowers Zeburaika's already medicore special attack. You do not hve to worry about your stats getting lowered with nitro charge.

Dusknoirdude23
13th January 2011, 10:24 AM
Personally, I would give Emboar physical fire moves like Heat Stamp or Flare Blitz over Flamethrower, but that's just me. I would use Overheat over Nitro Charge on Zeburaika in that moveset, as if you want a quick finish, it has Quick Attack, and Zeburaika has decent speed already

13th January 2011, 12:24 PM
ah yeah, just noticed Zebu can learn Overheat @.@
*goes to edit post, as Overheat is better than Nitro Charge in Zebu's case

gyaradosuseddragonrage!
13th January 2011, 4:35 PM
It doesn't matter that it lowers SpA, it's not going to use any other special attacks. (Or it's not supposed to. iirc that is how 3rd gen CB Flareon worked)

~Overheat

This is just me, but you should get a different grass-type. Something dual typed.

Err, explain why he should do this. Pansage is acquired early on and can evolve early on as well. It's fast and covers many types as well. I don't see the point of waiting until Gym 5 to get a dual typed one.

gyaradosuseddragonrage!
23rd January 2011, 4:11 AM
The only dual type grass types are Morobaoru (or however the hell you spell it), Nattorei, Mebukijiika, and Virizion. Out of these, only Natt and Mebu are decent. But Doredia, Jaroda, and Simisage are better.

canon123
25th January 2011, 5:19 PM
maybe I should just not have a grass type and go with something else? Right now, i'm almost at the 8th badge and have all of the pokemon we rated on my team...So far it's been solid in game. :P

canon123
29th January 2011, 1:13 AM
Ok! Beat the Elite four, and I'm thinking my grass monkey has got to go (Yannakie is the name?)... And I wouldn't mind catching some of the old pokemon now that I have access to post game routes...which one would compliment my team best? And with what moves?

Heracross:
-Close combat
-Stone edge
-Shadow claw
-Substitute

Absol:
-Sucker punch/night slash
- Shadow Ball
-Stone edge
-Ice beam

Kojondo:
-Jump kick
-Uturn
-Wide gaurd
- Poison Jab/Stone edge

Tyranitar:
-Dark pulse/Crunch
- Stone edge
- Dragon claw/Dragon tail
-Flamethrower

Metagross:
-psychic
-meteor mash
-hammer arm
-shadow ball

I've already caught a high lvl metang, pupitar, and absol..just waiting on the choice :)

Those where just some random moves I jumbled up...Any thoughts on which pokemon to go with? Then we'll decide the moves..

Aurath8
29th January 2011, 6:38 PM
Well:
Metagross@Life orb
Adamant
-Meteor Mash
-Agility
-Earthquake
-Ice punch
is probably the best for your team. Teh others you haven't trained/caught or are worse.

Also Absol hates special moves and T-tar isn't their biggest fan either. Just a tip.

canon123
30th January 2011, 7:54 PM
Thanks! :D I'm also thinking of having Tyranitar on my team (Replacing my bird :P)...
Is the moveset i listed for T-tar a good one? Or what should I change? Dont worry about the nature..as it's japanese and I cant read it anyhow :P

Soroft
30th January 2011, 8:20 PM
Absol @ Razor Claw
Jolly / Super Luck
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
Swords Dance
Night Slash / Sucker Punch
Psycho Cut
Superpower / Stone Edge

It's been awhile since I've used my favorite Pokemon, but I think this is the right set. Night Slash, Psycho Cut, and Stone Edge would give un-godly crit-hax, whereas Sucker Punch provides that awesome STAB priority that makes everything hide. Superpower is meh, and is meant to provide coverage, but I'm pretty sure Stone Edge goes there instead. Now get those Special moves off of there, Absol should have never been meant to be mixed. D:

How's the moveset I posted for Tyranitar above? Decided to go with T-tar and Metagross. :P

Thanks for ALL the help and thoughts!

canon123

anyone?^^^

And something else, It seems that ono. (Kibago's last form) cant be taught stone edge...Should I just go with rock slide then for that?

Aurath8
11th February 2011, 7:01 PM
Tyranitar
Unnerve
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide/Stone Edge
-Crunch
-Dragon Tail

Without pokeshifting this the best T-tar I can think of. Unnerve is because Sandstorm hurts the team. Sand Stream is worse but usable.

^^Yeah, use Rock Slide.

I'm no good at competitive( haven't done it) but i can help none the less.

Gamageroge
Moves:

change zeburika to denchura- compoundeyes
denchura

^
1. Gamageroge can't use Ice Beam.
2. Physical moves sucks on Denchura, and why Thunderbolt when it has Thunder? By the way, Compoundeyes increases Thunder's accuracy to 91%, not 100%.
3. Outrage on D-Dance Ononokusu? O no no. Dragon Claw is better in this case, and its last two move should be Rock Slide and Earthquake.

canon123
14th February 2011, 3:42 AM
Thanks for all the help!

Lastly...
How's this look like for Volcarona (Lvl 70 bug/fire type)

-Butterfly dance
-Heat wave
-Bug buzz
-Hurricane

And..
Why is dragon dance and dragon rage combo a no no?

NidokingJ
14th February 2011, 4:49 AM
Dragon rage always and only inflicts 40 dmg, so if u dragon danced to max attack n used rage u would still only do 40 dmg.

Shine
14th February 2011, 5:39 AM
Dragon Dance and Outrage is a no because it will lock you up into using only that move, and the confusion afterwards is very dangerous if Outrage is used after Dancing, as the damage when your Pokemon hits itself in confusion is based on its own Attack.

Dragon Claw is powerful enough for ingame purpose, and doesn't lock you up.

anyway, that Volcarona is fine, just get the one with Modest/Timid Nature.

canon123
14th February 2011, 3:49 PM
Oh yeah...For a gyarados...Stuck on what moveset to pick..and would I EV train it in attack?

-Dragon dance
-Dragon tail
-Hydro Pump
-Easrthquake

Joerus
21st May 2011, 3:58 PM
If you want an attacking Gyrados, you should have Aqua Tail or some better physical water move. By the way, here is a Emboar set that you might prefer:

Emboar Shell Bell
Adamant or Bold
-Earthquake
-Hammer Arm
-Flare Blitz
-Head Smash
EVs: Mostly Attack
