Introduction


Welcome fellow Serebii members to another edition of the (Official Team Huh? Sponsored) Tournament... The Summer Slam!
The Summer Slam is the next edition of the former Fall Classic and is the spiritual successor to Goldfan's Serebii Premier League (SPL).
The SPL being a tourney classified as league, Goldfan initially hosted this a number of times, some more succesful than others. This concept was revived by JmH Reborn, and was sponsored back then by the Super Elites.
This edition will carry on in the same fashion, only now hosted by another clan.
And will be held in the Tournament Section, for obvious reasons.

The Summer Slam will be a culmination of 15 of Serebii's most active and dedicated battlers. 15 contestants enter, 1 leaves as Champion. Due to nature and scope of this tournament, rules will be strict, activity will be closely monitored. Contestants application will be severely limited and is not first come first serve. Reservations will only be allowed for those most active in the community. Without any further Budew...


A Runthrough


The Summer Slam will be divided into three different divisions. Contestants will be slotted into a specific division. The winner of each division will then battle in the finals to determine the Summer Slam Champion. Prizes will be awarded to both the Champion, the Runner-Up and the third place.


Rules of Engagement


1. If invited, please send myself (Iggly) a PM using this format. In the interest of fair battling, your team WILL NOT be posted until all positions have been filled. Use this form:

2. Once I recieve the PM, please note, your team is set and cannot be altered for the course of this season. Of course you can switch up your leads/moves whatever between rounds, but the Pokemon stay the same. To be clear, your team will not be revealed until all positions have been filled.

3. There will be four rounds of battling within each division. The three Teams from each division with the most points at the end of the season will compete against each other for title of "Summer Slam Champion".

4. As stated earlier, activity will be fierce. If you do not meet your battling commitments, you will be removed from the League and forever banned from any TH? sponsored activity. You will be replaced by a reserve team and your points will be transferred. This is a battling site and there should be no excuse. If you are not able to commit, then please do not waste other trainers time by signing up. Again, only the most active will be considered.

5. We will be using Regileague adhered Tiers. No Ubers allowed. Standard battling clauses apply and broken clauses will be dealt with automatic disqualification for that specific match.

Team Building and Points Distro


Points are garnered based on your assembled team. Each Pokemon tier have their own points they are worth. Coincidentally, the more lowered tier Pokes you have, the more points each of your wins are worth. The points structured is as follows for your wins and losses

1. For each Loss, you will gain 10 points
2. For each Win, you will gain points based on the value of your team.
OUs are worth 5 pts; BLs are worth 6 pts; UUs are worth 7 pts.; NUs are worth 8 points
3. OU/BL/UU Legendaries are worth 4 pts; SkarmBlissCress is a -2 pts for your team.
There is alot of risk involved. This system allows a team with different sets that may be a bit weaker to standard sets to recover from a loss and still win the Championship if they can pull through.

This is a rather new tournament idea that I have decided to try out.

To get your team in this tournament, you have to pick a RMT from the CRMT section here (http://www.serebiiforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=145) as the team that you use for that round. The RMT would have to be recent (AKA first 1-5 pages).

There will be a total of 16 people in this tournament.

The matchups will be made using a random bracket generator.

In the first two rounds, you will pick a RMT thread, PM me the link, and this will be your team for the first two rounds. Although if you like you can use a different ream for the second one.

If you make it to the Semis and finals, you will chose a RMT of the person that you go up against in the match. If your opponent hasn't posted any RMT's you are able to use one of your previous ones from earlier on.

You are not allowed to make any changes to the team that you pick.

All battles will be conducted on Shoddy Battle, as the teams will need to be made quickly. You WILL be able to test teams prior to your match.

Scouting is allowed, but if your opponent asks you to leave tha battle, you MUST comply.

Both members must confirm the result in either PM or this thread.

Standard clauses will be applied.

Correction you had incredible hax at the very start of the battle, the one comes to mind was the stone-edge miss on your azelf when TTar had setted up. I can't deny I haxed you badly at the end of the battle but the damage had already had been done, so my hax was rather pointless and only sweetened the result for me after your haxy start.

Yes my hax nearly lost you the game, but your hax did make you win the game for you because just on that one miss cost me 2 Pokemon. My hax was merely compensating me on your hax earlier on in the game but like I said the damage already had been done. Also you didn't have 2 counters to TTar because I came prepared for your team, so believe me that miss was bigger than you thought and ultimately won you the game.

A sub has been contacted, though given the win record youve been having, and with the prospect of keeping things fair...
Im not entirely decided on how the sub will be implemented.
Part of me thinks its fair to start over, yet another part of thinks we should keep the wins... (hmm)

Anywho, I'll leave this up to the others in that division, along with the Baron matter, seems I need to issue some pms :D

Aww, that sucks Kinder. I dunno, it would be unfair just to let everyone win 'by default'. Personally, I think that a sub should start with a clean slate, that seens the fairest option.
