Anyone else record any of their pokemon battles with the vs recorder? It's cool to record interesting battles you've had and so easy to upload them online, so I thought I'd make a thread where users could post their pokemon battle videos.

To start things off, I'll post my first pokemon battle video. It was the first time I battled the Single Subway's boss. The video number is 80-72624-70661

Please be respectful.

Something strange happened to me recently... long story short*, I had this great battle on the Battle Subway that I won, and I saved the video. But then when I went back to watch it again, not only did it show me as losing the battle, but it showed the battle ending on turn #8 out of 11. Does anyone know what might have happened? A replay mode isn't exactly a very hard thing to program, you just reseed the RNG with the same seed as what it was at the time of the game, save the player inputs and times somewhere and then replay the match using that data, but appearantly I broke it. :\

*My first 3 Pokemon got KO'd very quickly, but then I brought out my Blissey who walled and swept the entire enemy team. Finally it came down to just my Blissey versus his Claydol, and we got into a stall war that lasted for ages. Finally just when it was looking like I was going to win for sure, he used Explosion; if I survived it, I would win, and if I didn't, he would win. My Blissey ended up surviving it with like 14/400 HP, plus a very late-stage Toxic. It was awesome, that Blissey is kickass.

The messed up battle video thing sounds a lot like a SSBB replay I once saw where there were two versions that alternately replayed - the actual one and a different one where the player lost. I think it's because of the AI doing something different than before, which would upset the entire sequence of events afterwards.

As for me, I played a great triple battle over random matchup today - My opponent was absolutely thrashing me thanks to accuracy hax (I missed 3/5 stone edges and focus blasts while he hit with every single stone edge) and effective tactics, but he eventually started making some pretty dumb moves. I managed to survive through 5 of his pokes with only a Metagross.

And cool battle, M. I'm still kinda new to triple battles myself. That was an annoying milotic.

The video I have saved is of some random 3vs3 singles battle I did over wi-fi. In it my Archeops wakes up in one turn and OHKOs a Ludicolo with Aerial Ace, and my Exeggutor (not trained in Sp. def.) survives a Fire Blast from a Garchomp. I don't really know if that's notable or not, but it was one of my first competitive battles this gen and the other player seemed experienced so I was pretty proud :b. Don't feel like looking up the ID though.

Sans pan/flying camera, replay modes are notoriously one of the simplest things to add to a game. In short, come on, Nintendo, get your -blam!- together! >:(

Yep, it was really annoying... Hilda's Amoonguss had Double Team, Spore, Ingrain and Giga Drain (and Leftovers). The Vileplume had Petal Dance, Teeter Dance, Stun Spore and Moonlight. So with one move on each that actually deals not very effective damage, they had to drain the rest of their PP as well (after using up Giga Drains and Petal Dances), leaving an Amoonguss with max evasion... Oh, and Amoonguss paralysed Vileplume with Effect Spore, and Vileplume paralysed Amoonguss with Stun Spore, further adding unnecessary turns of fully paralysed... Watch the video. It gets annoying when the Vileplume pulls Moonlight out!

Oh, and Hilda is an NPC. She helps you through the Multi Train if you're a male Trainer and you don't go through with a friend.

Yeah, before I go any further in the Battle Subway, I'm going to RNG a flawless Ferroseed so all members of my team are flawless. (Politoed isn't flawless in Attack, but it's not a physical set) (Ferrothorn having 0 Speed IV)

And yea, I hate when players disconnect. If I lose, I don't disconnect just because I lost. Actually the first random double wifi battle I recorded and uploaded to the GTS, the player disconnected, but not fast enough so I still got credit for the win and got to record the battle. :)

This was a pretty awkward battle. As we were about to begin our battle, I thought we were going to have a 3-on-3... so I chose my re-EV-trained Starmie, Aquarius, my starter, and my Gengar from my HeartGold game. It wasn't until once the battle started that I realized it was meant to be a full 6-on-6. XD;

But even then, my awesome Starmie pulled through for me and managed to murder his entire team, even after losing my Emboar and Gengar (very quickly, no less).

Random rotation battle with some Japanese guy. I fumbled during the beginning, but it was pretty easy after my Crobat fainted. The other guy did some bad moves, like 3/4 of his team being flying type when I had an Archeops, used a Landorus with Fissure, and had his Moltres use Safeguard when Archeops was in front.

You mean like a battle using friend codes? Yes, at the end of the battle it should ask if you want to record it if you have a vs recorder. You'll have to save over the one video you have though (if you have any), but you can just go to the pokemon center person top floor all the way to the right and select the battle video option. After connecting, you can upload any video you saved to wifi, just keep the battle video number they give you so you can find it again.

Was this any help, lol?

I also agree that we should be able to save more battle videos ingame and an online thing like Accipitri mentioned. One video stinks for your own unless you upload to GTS and save it to your vs recorder. When I saved new battles, I'd have to try and go right to the gts and upload and get the battle video.

Oh, and wouldn't the lucario and volcarona also become mummy, or at least the volcarona?
Nope...

I think Mummy can only be spread by the Mummy being targeted; if the Mummy uses a physical attack on another pokemon it won't have any effect.

Exactly. Mummy can only be spread if the Pokémon with Mummy is the on the recieving end of the physical contact attack. Otherwise, Volcarona's Flame Body would've changed to Mummy before it could activate. I assume, anyway.

Hmm, I think I may have a battle video where mummy went back and forth from both teams if I can find it.

Found it in my vs recorder, not sure if still online. Watching it now. The opponent's cofagrigus gave my stoutland mummy after he bit him. Then the opponent's scrafty got mummy after using drain punch on my stoutland. Then, the scrafty gave my dewott mummy after my dewott used x-scissor.

So the lucario and volcarona would have only gotten mummy if they used a physical attack on the slaking. Ok, I misunderstood.

I just realized I don't know how to reupload those videos... will a description work?

(Incoming wall of text)

In the Baton Pass battle, I used Ninjask, Zangoose, and Porygon-Z, my opponent used Serperior, Arcanine, and Heracross. I sub up first, and somehow managed to take a Dragon Tail from Serperior, allowing a Swords Dance. A second Dragon Tail breaks the sub. Next turn he switches to Arcanine, I sub again. I Baton Pass everything to Zangoose, and he breaks the sub. He burns with Will 'o Wisp, but not before I get a crit Crush Claw. Turn 6 he switches back to Serperior, and I Close Combat. Luckily Serperior couldn't Dragon Tail, since I get a crit X-Scissor (Scope Lens is surprisingly effective). He brings in Arcanine and Morning Suns, and my Zangoose couldn't do anything before fainting to Extremespeed next turn. I bring in Ninjask, who manages to attack, but dies from Rocky Helmet damage. Last pokemon, Porygon-Z, comes in and thanks to a Sp. Atk boost, I ko with Tri Attack. He brings in Heracross, and I Psychic for the 0KO.

In the Grass team one, I use Ninjask, Porygon-Z, and Weavile, she uses Jumpluff, Cacturne, and Roserade. First turn I hastily sub up only to get Encore'd, forcing a switch to Porygon-Z and a Swords Dance for Jumpluff. Before I can Ice Beam, Jumpluff 0KOs with Flying Gem+Acrobatics. I bring in Weavile, and forgetting Encore risk a Fake Out. Luckily she goes straight for Acrobatics, allowing my Sash to kick in and to KO with Ice Punch. She then sends in Cacturne and KOs with Sucker Punch. With Ninjask as my last pokemon, I go for the X-Scissor only to break the Sash. Half-anticipating a Sucker Punch (though mainly to stay safe), I sub up and avoid the Sucker Punch. I then finally KO Cacturne, and she sends in Roserade. Since I have a sub, I decide to Swords Dance and get my sub broken by [presumably] Hidden Power Ice. Despite that, I still manage a win with a +3 X-Scissor.

With that out of the way, I present my reason for posting here at this time, this epic battle.

something weird happened, I tried to upload a vid to GTS and it said there was something wrong with one of the pokemon in the video.

Don't get what was up with that, but anyways my Probopass was doing pretty well vs an uber team with toxic-protect combo (no it doesn't know pain split) but the person kept using no effective attacks because they didn't have any real effective moves except heat wave (Volcarona) and Close Combat (with Sawk, which I used Gallade to avoid it)

none of mine were, his maybe, but to be honest, they really just sucked and if any of them were hacked, they would have just wiped out my Probopass with 2hko, at the rate he was going it probably would have been a 20hko had I let him do that ;).

But oh well, now that I think about it, it wasn't to interesting other then the fact that it was a rotation battle.

I still have to check what videos of mine are still online. Since the first post has my first sent online video, I figure if that's still around then the others should be. If everything is still online, then I have to pick the ones I want to keep. But dang, gonna have to get my second game to Nimbasa to get a vs recorder to save more videos. I am so for letting us save more.

Question, the video I posted in the first post, that's saved in one of the three spots on my vs recorder. If a video's there, can you trade it or send it to another game. You can't upload that online I believe.

Ok, finally got around to checking the uploaded videos. Unfortunatly the video I posted in the first post is no longer online, but that's the only one; the others are all online and I had it saved to vs recorder. BUT, it's not as interesting as my online battles I've saved, so I deleted it for one of the uploaded ones I just could view online. Now there's just one video I still need to save offline.

And I finally battled again online before I did this, so that was cool.

29th March 2012, 10:54 PM
yeah, started out as a normal double battle in the subway but then the meganium that i ignored (because i didnt think it was a threat) started double teaming. when i started going for the monster it was too late. he was already extremely evasive and two of my pokemon were dead and my porygon-z was low on his pp for a move and since he was locked by choice scarf he struggled to death soon after. so it was up to my metagross to fight the meganium, who eventually ran out of pp himself and struggled which somehow managed to kill the meganium, since it was weakened since it hasnt rested in a while and i think struggle cant miss, but at that turn, metagross also died. luckily it counted as a win for me!

This was during the Autumn Friendly Tournament, I entered for fun and had some great battles like this one.
The start is full of switching, most of it was useless besides saving Terrakion from it's ultimate counter.
I liked that this battle was about skill and that hax was kept to a minimum.

@MajinYoshi- Cool battle. Good thing your terrakion was faster in the end. I read terrakion used close combat and was like "Oh, it'll never survive that with 1 hp left." Then saw it hit the other terrakion. XD

Just saved a battle from the current, or maybe it's over now, International Challenge wifi tourney.

It was definitely interesting and could have lost because of an interesting soaked shedinja combo. Interesting because they brought in their N's zoroark, however never had it use it's ability because it came into the battle as the last pokémon. And not sure how I feel about soaking shedinja. It's true that a water type has less super effective weaknesses than regular shedinja, but there is a lot of electric and grass type moves to go around, but at the same time flying, rock, ghost, fire, and dark types aren't all to unpopular either. HOWEVER, soak brings the element of surprise because if you see the possibility of shedinja entering the fray, you would try to bring in the regular types it's weak to unless this soak shedinja combo is seen enough. Thank goodness for Geyser's grass knot though. Had to make sure I took out their soaker golduck before I could bring him back into the battle. Oh, and Yunowun did a pretty good taking things out, so proud of him.

Battle vid is 23 05956 92981

Also I see someone posted a new battle vid, so I'll check out the plusle an minun combo. ^^

My first battle video was a prototype Eeveelution team I had that consisted of: Umbreon, Espeon, and Jolteon, which took place in Random Matchup Single Battle.

When some guy threw out a Torterra, Umbreon almost haxed it with Confuse Ray and Shadow Ball, and when I almost did, Torterra killed Umbreon with Frenzy Plant. I sent out Espeon and he killed it with Psychic. Then he threw out Garchomp, which I almost killed with Psychic, and my Espeon almost died by 25% HP by a Dragon Claw. He switched out again to Luxray, which I attacked with Psychic and Swift, which almost killed it, and Luxray swept Espeon with Discharge.

Then I sent out my untouchable Jolteon. I swear, it flinch haxed Luxray with Thunder Fang, and it took a Double Kick to kill it. Then he sent out Garchomp, then I swept it with Quick Attack. I forgot the code number to the vid. But it encouraged me to continue Random Matchup, if I had my DSi.
