I hatched this a few moments ago in SoulSilver:

I found it pretty easy. Gen IV RNGing is very simple for me now; I can't believe I found it so hard but a month ago. I plan on tutoring it Ice Punch and Iron Head at the very least. There are still plenty of Gen IV (and Gen V) RNGs I want to do, but I haven't had much time lately.

Good job. How many times till you got this nature?I didn't keep tabs but I believe at least 10+ times before getting it with the right nature. 50+ times if you include all the off delay hits. The lack of a PID Seed to use as a guide means a crapton of luck and patience was needed.

Okay, changed to my other soul silver. Trying to get a shiny Chikorita starter. Seed is d8021444. According to both PokeRNG and RNG Reporter, the first frame should be a shiny timid, making frame advancements unnecessary. However, every time I try, I get a Naughty Chikorita, which is nowhere on the seed! How can I verify what seed I'm hitting this early in the game?

So what's a good min/max delay? Also, is 4th gen RNG intimidating as 60 times per second sounds?

And with PokeRNG, do I find a spread for my starter or what? I have the AR that it says is helpful for IDK why. Sort of going for a shiny Timid Cyndaquil.

Min should be 5000 and max is whatever you want. And no not at all.

And you want to find a spread for pokemon you want shiny so if you want a shiny timid pokemon just search for a timid spread. And don't waste your time trying to RNG the cyndaquil because it's going to be really hard as you can't advance frames nor can you check if you hit your delay.

Larvesta eggs start on frame 2 right? Does this only apply to the one the pokemon ranger gives you, or does it apply to bred Larvestas as well?

Only applies to the one the ranger gives you. I think it has it's own method in Time Finder, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Use this guide on Smogon: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13601

It'll show the best combinations for HP, and then you just put the IVs in Time Finder. If you know how to breed, you should be fine.

Just had an absolute result :)
Been RNGing a squad to pick my VGC team from got most of what I wanted but the one thing eluding me was a DW Dragonite, well I just went onto my DW for the first time in a fortnight (was really getting frustrated at only ever getting **** Pokemon appearing) and what was the first thing that appeared . . . A Dratini and not only that I did well enough in the game to get it Female :) I am so happy now.

So anyway I'm about to start RNG breeding her for my team and wanted you guys opinion as to the best Nature and IV set up to go for?
By the way I have a Male Extremespeed Dratini from Gen IV which I will be using for that egg move.

Also thinking of Tutoring Heat Wave and Superpower from Gen IV before I bring the Extremespeed over, what do you think?

Make sure you have == selected next to the number, and not <=.

There's not much point in doing so, since Dratini can't inherit either of those moves when breeding. Do you want them for anything in particular?

That's a shame :(
No particular reason, just liked Heat Wave as a move on Volcarona at last years VGC, but Volcarona will be too weak this year with a full Dex available.
And Superpower as a strong fighting move so I can free up a space in my team and leave out Conkledurr (although Mach Punch does have it's advantages)

What would you suggest?

Thanks TDawg.

I went off the guide that is posted in Smogon (this one: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3159941&postcount=2).

To be honest, I was lost for a while due to using a Mac and no EonTimer. So I had to wing it the whole way through with ZomgTimer. The process itself isn't too hard at all. What does get frustrating is hitting the delay. That part took my whole weekend to get down.

So today I fired up the DS, put in all my research that I did that weekend and went to the Entree Forest. When I saw the HP stat, I knew I had hit the seed (from seeing the wrong one so many times). But I lucked out when I saw the nature. Had I not hit that nature, I would've been at it till who knows how long.

You need to uncheck the Shiny Only box when trying to find out the frames that are nearby the one you're trying to hit. This way, you know where you're starting and you can then find out how many you need to get there.

I've been trying to understand RNG Breeding, but I am having some problems. I'm hoping someone can help answer some questions I have please:

First off, this is my target: Mienfoo, Male preferred but not important, Regenerator ability, Adamant nature (Jolly would work too if needed), 31/31/31/X/31/31. NOT shiny.
Parents are Male Mienfoo forgot nature 31/31/31/21/31/31 and Female Mienfoo Adamant nature (holding Everstone) 31/31/31/21/31/31

1. I've watched Bearsfan's video on breeding a few times now (his target is a Shiny Sassy Ferroseed). At the beginning he's in the Time Finder under Capture and does, what appears to me to be, very little other than change the Min/Max Frames to 8 and method to Method 5 (Standard Seed). He has his target IV's input. I went along with this too to follow along, but then he jumps to the 4th/5th Gen Shiny Egg tab. Am I supposed to also? Since I'm not aiming for a shiny, would I stay on the Capture Tab and generate a seed there (is that correct terminology?)?

2. I've commented about having problems with this, and someone suggested I may not have hit my seed. I realize I didn't provide much information in that post, but am I missing something, or is getting the egg hitting a seed (pardon any puns there)?

3. Is the 4th/5th Gen Shiny Egg tab only for eggs I want to be shiny?

4. A week or so ago I asked for some tips on RNG breeding. Someone mentioned a flawless Ditto. In my case (look up at the info I provided), does said Ditto make things easier? I will be going off to RNG a bunch of Ditto (How do we pluralize Pokemon names?) later on. Someone also mentioned breeding a flawless Smeargle. Is that just for passing moves/IVs down, or are Smeargle easier to breed?

5. Keypresses - If I ever get into those, when exactly do I start them, and when exactly do I release please? I feel like I hear/read different comments about them a lot.

Does it help to know both Mienfoos were RNGed? I think that's all of my questions for now. I'm off to the gym. Thank you in advance!

I'll try to answer this...

1. Didn't watch the whole video, but it seems to be quite outdated as the newer versions of RNG Reporter has an option to use the shiny egg finder for non-shinies as well. So just forget about using the capture tab for breeding.

2. You might have hit the wrong Timer0, or just started your game a second too late or early. I can't think of any other reason as for why you didn't hit your seed.

3. Now, this is very important. In the latest versions of the RNG Reporter, you can use the shiny egg finder for non-shiny breeding as well. It's incredibly simple, you will see a box with "Shiny Only" next to it, just make sure it is unchecked before you press generate. You won't need an Everstone either as you should find more than enough of your desired results without it, especially as both of your parents have your desired IVs.

4. Ditto is considered to be one of the most useful Pokemon for breeding as it can breed with everything that can breed, I guess that is also why it is a common recommendation for breeding. Smeargle is on the other hand mostly useful for Egg moves as a Male Smeargle can pass down any moves for the Field Egg group, which means that no egg move combination for that egg group is illegal. So they are only useful if you want something that you can use for breeding anything, or if you want any egg moves in the Field egg group.

5. You won't need keypresses if you use the shiny egg finder for non-shiny breeding. But I recommend keypresses if you are going for a shiny egg. As for how they are used, the FAQ in this thread says:

Where and How do I Hold Keypresses?
Keypresses are held immediately after you start up the game from the DS menu menu. Start up the game by pressing A 1 second before the time RNG reporter gives, let go of A immediately and hold the required keypresses until the gamefreak logo comes on.

What do I do if I Have no Keypresses
After you start up the game from the DS menu wait until the gamefreak logo comes on before you press any buttons.

Don't know if I answered your questions thoroughly enough. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

I...I..I can't believe it guys. I finally succeeded in my first Entralink RNG! With that, I can now prepare myself for the Arceus in February. Here is the proud achievement:

Congrats on your Entralink RNG. :D I'm still having difficulties with it. I can't seem to find the delay I hit at all. I wish IV ranges were supported. How did you go about finding what delay you hit with ranges?

Good job Flygon! It's nice to see someone else who has done a Pursuit + Curse + Whirlwind Munchlax :)

Thanks guys!

Killer_Flygon, it's cool. Still appreciate it though. :)

SpeedSuicune: I used the Serebii calculator, along with the IV judge and the HP judge to find out my exact IVs. I also use PPRNG (I have a Mac). In the C-Gear inspector you're able to search for nearby results by plugging in the IVs you get when you capture the DW Pokemon.

Here's a screenshot of it (currently going for the Banette). The reasons why I have 8477 for the delay and 25 seconds for the target time is because ZomgTimer doesn't have a High Link option, so you have to do it yourself. For delays you have to subtract 296 from your Target delay and for every proceeding one you land on. And for the seconds is a difference of 5 seconds. Hope that explains it a bit:

This is everything I have done since early/mid-december, although some things are excluded for personal reasons. I guess this isn't very impressive since everyone seems to be doing 4th gen now.
I'm almost done with RNG in 5th gen for the moment, just one more thing to do, although it might take some time to get done. Or not, it's all depending on how long it will take to find the seed I am looking for.

Okay, question. I am trying to RNG shiny Enigma Latias on Soul Silver. She is on frame 32. I have called Oak, and am on the right seed, but the Oak calls started four in. Does that mean I am already advanced by four? So, instead of counting from zero to get 32, should I start from four?

Lati@s starts on frame 1, so if you had no NPC advancements, you would've needed to advance 31 times, not 32. Thus, you should start from 5. Nothing you will ever do will start on frame 0(I think), so your advancements should always be, at least, -1 from your target frame.

Hi RNG fans

Am so excited because I’ve just managed to do my first ever RNG breed in a 3rd Gen game. It took my 2 days to hit my frame (pretty bad right :() but it was hard having to wait 20 minute 29 second & 68 hundreds of second to hit the A button & then ride around for another 6 minutes to hatch the egg. The frame was 73781 & the spread was 31/B/B/31/A/31 & I now have a Bold Natural Cure Chansey with the awesome stats 31/2/31/31/31/31 & 3rd Gen move tutor moves seismic toss.

Your time finder window would be useful, so we can see if you put something in incorrectly.

This is for anyone who wants to help. I'm getting so frustrated with RNG Breeding. Pics will be in spoilers..

So I start here, I enter the IV's I want and my Everstone Nature, though I hear that isn't necessary. The parents' IV's get entered. I RNG'd both parents. Clicked Generate. See the image.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/jolteonjak/TIMEFINDER.jpg

I highlighted the one I want, and I copied the Seed and went to the Man Window. I selected the IV's I care about most; pasted the Seed (that sounds so dirty); selected my Everstone Nature again; and then clicked Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame. My starting frame shows as 49. I want Frame 86, so that means 37 Chatot flips, right?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/jolteonjak/MAINWINDOW.jpg

This is one of the results of my endavors over the past few nights. I'm not getting the same result...even when it's wrong.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/jolteonjak/MIENFOOIVs.jpg

At this point, I'd just settle for the HP, Atk, and Spd IV's coming out correctly with Regenerator. I don't care about gender anymore! Thank God I didn't try for a shiny. :(

I think this is what you are doing wrong. The NPCs on Route 3 will always advance your frame by a few steps before you recieve the egg. So you will need to find how many steps they advance it, which is easy to do by not doing any Chatot advancements before picking up the egg, then hatch it and see what nature/ability/IVs you get. Check the main window to find a matching frame, this is your Shifted Starting Frame, commonly referred to as SSF. This was also the reason I recommend you to not use an Everstone, as it might make it harder for you to find your SSF. If you didn't find a matching frame in the main window, you didn't hit your seed (likely due to your Timer0 trolling you).
Another thing you need to change is to not select any IVs in the main window as this will change it to only show frames which have those IVs. This means that all frames that hasn't got these IVs will not be shown, which in the worst case might mean that you won't be able to find your SSF either.

Yep, I don't see anything wrong in your Time Finder. But I have a few suggestions. You could set the minimum Frame to 60 and select what Nature and Ability you want before generating the results. This will ensure any unwanted results won't appear, and it will be easier for you to select a seed you want to use.

The year affects the delay in HGSS, not the presence or lack of a GBA cartridge. If you were to change the year ahead or back one, you'd hit odd delays.

I'm glad you're making progress, lavaburst. Now try IVs. They're much harder than RNGing the PID. :P

That's untrue because GBA games do change the delay to the opposite. I use that method many times. Changing the year is just the other way of doing.

No. The primary point of TID/SID abuse in G4 is to get a good shiny spread. You can still got non-shiny versions without needing to abuse your id. (or if you get insanely lucky, and get a combo that gives you a good shiny spread)

You can RNG as soon as you start the game (even before, if you RNG your ID/SID). Since the ability to download Wonder Cards is available from the beginning of the game (at least I think it is), you can RNG them as soon as you reach a Pokémon Center, with the earliest one being Accumula Town.

These two RNGs will probably be the last I do for a while. I'll teach them Gen IV-exclusive moves, such as Trick and Roost, when they evolve.

Pretty hard, since you won't be getting good IVs.

What's a good place to start with 4th gen RNG? Also, I don't really get calibration for DPPt. I was thinking about doing the roamer Kanto birds for Platinum. Shiny Skarm w/ SR, Brave Bird, and Roost is also appealing, though.

EDIT: Tried calibrating, but I only got an initial frame, no monster frame. ?

Anywhere. They are all the same essentially. Probably not the roamer as your first though.

Anyways don't calibrate. Eontimer calibrates for you as you RNG.

So just search for a seed, attempt to hit it, verify with coin flips/Elm responses listed, advance frame if hit?

Method one is for gifts, eggs, and roamers. And you have those swapped. HGSS is K and DPPt is J
Straight from Smogon.

All roamers (Raikou, Entei, and the Latis), as well as gift Pokemon (all of the starters, Eevee, Togepi, the Arceus event that gives you Dialga\Palkia\Giratina, Game Corner Pokemon, etc.) are Method 1.
Everything else uses Method K.
Of course it didn't mention J which goes the same way just for DPPt

Catch it and don't save. Since the room has nothing to impede the PID, you'll land on the very first frame shown (in your case Frame 45).

Here is the next member of my team. I did not go for flawless IVs since I went for a specific HP spread:

Well, if you don't want to end up doing too many advances, then do. Set the max to how many advances you'd be comfortable doing. You won't be able to hit frames below five or so, as you'll have to do a few Elm calls to confirm your seed. You shouldn't have to do too many frame advances, if you put in high enough of a delay range. I usually keep my max frame at 40, but I'm not particularly certain whether that's recommendable. It works for me, at least. :P

I'd suggest using PokéRNG if you're not using it already. It finds seeds far faster that RNG Reporter. Here's (http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2553502&postcount=4) a post with download links. You might as well download the full package.

Alright but then how do I know what my target frame is? My target frame is 1, isn't it?
It better not be, since that's impossible to hit. What was your target frame from the Time Finder where your seed is listed?

Alright but then how do I know what my target frame is? My target frame is 1, isn't it?

You seem to be confusing the IV frame with the PID frame. The IV frame is what determines what your...IVs will be. o.O The PID frame determines the Shininess, the Nature and Characteristic. They're separate.

If you notice your screenshot, you currently have the Method set to Gen 5 PIDRNG. Change that to *Method 5 Standard Seed*. This will display the IV frame and not the PID ones.

If possible, do another search, but this time choose the IV frame to be 1 (unless that's what it already is). It makes it easier when you're first starting to RNG.

Hope this helps clear things up.

*I'm not sure if this is still called that, so please correct me if I'm wrong*

I'm trying to learn to RNG again, and unsurprisingly, I'm still making mistakes. I've tried 9 times now to hit this frame 90 Shiny Timid 31/19/12/31/24/29 egg, and not gotten anything remotely close. I'll get something and the nature+characteristic will match RNGReporter's list, but the IVs are off when I take the baby to the Battle Subway. I've done the same amount of Chatot summaries, trying to get a consistent result, but I get a different result (each one having the same problem of IVs not matching reporter) every time, and I watch the WNPCs as I pause and I've paused at the same time every time, give or take a few millisecs.

Here are screenshots of what RNG Reporter looks like as I try.

You have to advance to the PID frame with your encounter slot. Keep in mind that you may be in an area with wandering NPCs that'll mess that up.

the PID advances by one for each step you take right? So, if i advance the IV frame once (128 steps) and my starting PID frame is 50, after advancing the IV frame my PID frame should be 178 right? Assuming there are no NPCs, weather, wild pokemon battles, etc

EDIT: never mind, i found out through trial and error (a lot of error)

EDIT 2: New question. Im trying to RNG my legends in Black and this is the first time i have ever RNGed anything other then an egg. I found the seed i want and the IV frame is 7. I have 6 pokemon in my part and i walk 130 steps in total (because of the position i was in when i saved it) and then i figured out my PID frame. I advanced the PID frame by the proper number and got my beautiful shiny Cobalion. I put my Syncronizer up front and proceed to battle. I finally catch Cobalion and i check its IVs and discover that they are horribly off with only S. Atk being 31. The IV frame i want is 31/31/31/19/31/31 and i did everything i was suppose to. I advanced the IV frame, i advanced the PID frame, i used a syncronizer, and my IVs were still wrong. So what did i miss? what went wrong? I know i hit my seed b/c Cobalion was shiny and i matched several natures in RNG reporter before i even started. Also, the nxt closet shiny is 2500 or so frames away so i know this shiny SHOULD be the right one, but im lost as to what went amiss.

You'll find it very difficult to get a usable shiny frame for your roamer if you didn't abuse your ID/SID.

That Zorua was obviously a lucky shot, because now I can't seem to hit my seeds. My parameters are correct (using my DS original now, for the clock), I'm entering the game one second earlier than RNGReporter says to, but what hatches from the egg isn't on the list for that seed, unlike my last posts where I had this problem, I'm getting the same result from the egg consistently. It's really frustrating, because I have a great near-flawless shiny seed written down. Any ideas on what's causing this?

Your hitting a seed, just not your seed. Keeping trying and you'll get it.

New question.

Alright, i found another seed, advanced the IV frame with the right number of pokemon in my party, found my starting PID frame (matched 4 consecutive natures just to be sure) advanced the PID frame to my shiny, caught it, and once again the IVs are horribly off. Is it the Timer0 perhaps? I dont really RNG anything outside of eggs and events so i dont know exactly how the Timer0 works. When i figured out my parameters i was only given one Timer0 (i figured out my parameters 6 times and still only ever got one Timer0). If the Timer0 is off does that mess up the IVs? if so, is there anyway to control the Timer0 or do i just have to find a different seed? Or is there something else im doing wrong that is messing up my Cobolion. I found a seed with a nearby shiny, i marked it as a stationary pokemon, and I'm using a syncronizer, and everything else is set right. Help please, im lost :(

Timer0 would affect everything, including IVs. It could even affect egg and event RNGing. It is also completely uncontrollable. I don't know what you're doing wring though. Either you put your IVs in wrong somewhere, or you're somehow hitting a shiny frame on another seed. The last one's really unlikely though.

but theres only one place to put in the IVs, and the IVs are the only thing that are off. When it gives you the IVs for a seed, do the IVs change when you advance the PID frame? I dont know if RNG reporter game me flawless IVs for the starting frame or for my shiny frame, or if those are the same IVs for every PID frame.

P.S. I updated to the newer version of RNG reporter and there is now a box that says "Use True Minimum Frame" I know this is going to be a stupid question, but that isnt whats throwing off my IVs is it?

EDIT: I've tried about 4 or 5 different seeds and i have the same problem. No matter what the IVs are always wrong. I even had a seed that had an IV frame of 1, but the IVs were still wrong. If it is my Timer0, is it possible that the Timer0 value i have entered will never work at all??? Like i said, it was the only Timer0 value i got when i figured out my parameters, and i did it several times. So is it possible that all wild captures work off of another Timer0, but never this one?

You need to explain more about what problems you are having. Are you having a hard time hitting your seed, or are you doing an incorrect amount of PID advances?

I haven't looked too closely at R/S frames, but there is a 31/30/31/x/30/0 brave frame (or something similar, it's M1), so you can use it for Groudon, Registeel, Regirock, Stevens Beldum, and stationary Kecleon, and I don't think it's too far in.

I know stationary pokemon are the easiest, but I am still proud of my first RNG!

Yeah 3rd Gen RNG is a test of patience. Probably with that is Groudon isn't in Sapphire. Right? Otherwise all good pokes to RNG. Maybe I should find a Jolly seed for Double Edge Rayquaza. BUt I read up on him and the RNG for him seems weird. Like it doesn't stop generating til the battle actually starts?

I haven't tried to rng Rayquaza before, since it doesn't really gain anything from G3 tutors. You could try talking to Hozu on smogon, since he seems to know the most about G3 retail cart abuse.

Yeah that's true. I should just hope for V-Create Rayquaza to come to the US without any ******** like the Target Lucario. I mean buying a whole other game is ridiculous for a one time code. lol

Anyways yeah I should VM him about it.

Yeah, the Target Lucario deal was ridiculous. However, it seems as though the Rayquaza is an actual wifi event, and not over the dream world, so odds are it'll be a wifi event here, assuming it comes out here of course.

If you bought a BW cartridge from Target then there would be a code to get a Male DW Lucario. You can only use the code once though. Event is still going I think.

G4 is easier just sayin. Because it there aren't as many delays that you can hit. Anyways its much easier to hit the 60th of a second then you're making it out to be. But it sure is hell annoying when you don't get the damn nature you want.

Oh wow! I was practicing more with stationary pokemon and decided to get a male flawless volcarona to mess around with breeding eventually. On my japanese copy of black to make for better shiny odds!

I had a lot of trouble at first. The only seed I could find was frame 10. I hit it a few times, but every time I tried to make it a boy, I missed my seed somehow! I don't know what happened. So I eventually went looking for another seed and managed to find a Frame 1, and it ended up female at first. Try again and one save later...

if your seed is a few seconds off then just recallibrate Eon timer and try again. It took me like an hour to calibrate Eon timer when i tried to RNG Bannette before i finally hit my seed. I got the flawless pokemon but i didnt like the nature, then life got in the way an i wasnt able to finish the job :/ also, remember thet Entralink abuse is really weird so its not like normal c-gear abuse. You need to check that box for entralink abuse, you need to adjust that bottom number from 296 to 356 (i think thats the numbers any way, like i said its been awhile), remember that your starting IV frame will never be lower then 21 and that by talking to a pokemon your frame advances by 26 (after the first time you talk to them). Thats just a few troubleshooting tips, im sure someone else can help you more if the problem persist :)

That about sums up all he needs to know, but 356 is if your delay is 1 second off of what it should be and 416 is for 2 seconds and so one. Here's the actual equation \/

([seconds hit - seconds wanted] x 60) + 296

I think i will go for a Jolly and a Timid Arceus but i might settle for a Naive if it pops up first. I also have a Mamoswine that is moving around in Entree Forest so i cant help but think that is going to complicate this a bit, maybe ill do him first

Wow! Everyone seems to be starting on the Entralink RNG for Arceus at the moment!!
I've got 8 to pick up at the moment. I might set up a few more accounts so I can get one with each plate.
Also got Mamoswine, Banette and Croagunk's to pick up on each of them.
I've downloaded EonTimer and I've run through all the steps on Smogon's guide, just haven't actually put it into practice yet.

One question the guide mentioned min frame of 21, I found a flawless spread on frame 21 but would I advance too far walking to the 3rd clearing to get to Arceus??

no, i tested that out earlier and it only took me 55 steps to get to Arceus, including turning. You should have plenty of time to get to Arcues and still be on frame 21. Although, someone once told me that the number of steps required to advance the frame doesnt reset once the DS is turned off. So if you walked 127 steps then saved and turned off your DS, the first step you took when you turned your DS back on would advance your IV frame. That sounds kinda weird to me but i dont RNG much outside of eggs and events so i never tested that out. Does anyone else have a solid answer to that?

According to the first page, Route 5 is not on the list of places without moving NPC's. Maybe that's it?

dewey911p
5th February 2012, 5:56 AM
well if you got to 83, but you hit your seed, then just keep flipping until you get the right nature and encounter slot again. But are you sure you hit your seed? 3 keypresses means theres a lot that could go wrong. Personally i have issues with directional keypresses and i find that i often miss my seeds. If you hit your seed and the IVs are right, it could be NPCs like was suggested earlier

Vandslaux
5th February 2012, 6:37 AM
There's NPC's on Route 5. If you want to RNG a Trubbish/Garbodor, there's no NPCs on Route 9.

If you're advancing 10 frames and you're going from 41 to 83, then you're not hitting your seed I think. Are you holding the keypresses?

And I heard that as well. I also heard getting into a battle resets it. Weird, though, as I rarely get into a battle between RNGs, and I end up still hitting my IV frame.

Also, just wondering, is it basically hopeless to find a decent seed for even a pent-flawless shiny legendary w/o RNGing your ID/SID?

Wandering NPC's tend to advance it unpredictably. From what I recall, Route 5 has a few NPC's who move around, which would explain the sudden jump.

No, thats mainly for RNGing your roamer. For stationary legends you should still be able to find decent seeds with reasonable chatot flips. you may have to search a bit, but they should be there

For my game, I've found about a dozen or so physical flawless syncable seeds for frame 1, with PID between 40 and 500, and that was just between 2000-2050. If you'd like, PM me your game parameters, and when I have free time, I can search for some. (pprng has a vastly superior search function.)

By NPC's, we generally mean ones who advance the PIDRNG. The bikers don't advance it, since they have a predictable movement pattern. I've RNGed there before.

Also, question: is it impossible to control the PIDRNG for non-shiny wild pokemon? I can't see any way on RNG Reporter.

foxyman1167

Alright I'll try Route 9, maybe I'll get it right.

Something weird happened while I was trying to find my starting frame on Route 5. I hit my seed, switch my synchronizer from the first slot for my Sweet Scenter, used SS, catch the pokemon, and it doesn't have the IV spread. I reset the game, put the SSer first, hit my seed, and first poke I catch has the IVs. Put the Syncher back in front, save again, try 10 times, get two different Liepards depending on when I boot, neither have the IVs. Boot the game again, hit my seed, do 1 flip, and I get the desired IVs. I don't know why or how this is happening.

Can I also assume the Pokemon NPC's at the breeding center wouldn't advance the PIDRNG? I've been basing my failing on how much they move when the season fades at startup. Damn...maybe I'm better than I thought! LOL

No, you want to put in your ID/SID combo since that is what controls for shininess. Your game will determine if it is shiny based on your combo, not theirs. You just need the IVs of the parents.

I've been keeping myself busy this weekend, and I have two new RNGs to show for it. Both were pretty time consuming but the second one was an absolute pain to do.

Nice. Axew was my first shiny RNG. I've been thinking of doing Archen.

So if I consistently get the wrong second from the timer (I keep getting :28, seed is :37), should I use the equation listed on the entralink RNG guide to change my calibrated delay?

I'm really confused by this Entralink RNG :(
I followed the guide step by step but I can't hit my seed at all. I'm aiming for 05:58:59 with a delay of 3738. But whenever I go for it I end up with a result of 05:59:00 and a delay between 3732 and 3742 (hit 3738 twice but obviously not the right IV's).
Can someone give me a rough idea of what I'm doing wrong? How do I hit the time I want and not 1 second later?

most likely you need to adjust the very bottom number on Eon timer from 296 to 356. Make sure you clicked the Entralink check box on Eon Timer then adjust the number. From there it should just be a matter of hitting your seed

Looking at that info, if I keep hitting the wrong second, then do I need to adjust the calibrated delay?

yup, same as the guy above

So then it's just a matter of keep trying until I can hit my seed consistently? Then keep SRing for nature?

I guess it'll be really easy to check it's IVs/flawlessness, since all it's base stats are the same and it's lv 100.

Ok I've adjusted and now I can hit the right time of 05:58:59 :), however now need to hit the delay properly.
Now I want to ask how do you get the nature you want? Wouldn't it be the same every time you hit the seed and delay? Do you chatot flip?
I see above vandslaux said to SR but doesn't that change the seed again?

you should probably do chatot flips to advance the PID b/c if you take the same number of steps each time the nature should come out to be the same even if you keep soft reseting

And where would I find what nature it is for each PID frame? Put my seed into the main page and change it to C-Gear seed?

select 5th gen PID from RNG reporters Main window. You will need to match up a few consecutive natures before you can be sure you know what your starting PID frame is after all of the walking, but once you find your frame it should be just like any other RNG

Should I use a frame 21 seed for Entralink, what they start on? Advancing seems confusing. Apparently, it advances by either 21 or 26 when you talk to the pokemon?

So controlling the nature is harder, but saves time?

The PID Frame (un)surprisingly never change when turning on the C-gear, only the IV frame. Since it move at a constant range of about 1.7~ seconds chatters don't way soo well.

C-Gear seed timing
-> extrapolate backwards to the Standard Seed Time*
-> Simple Seed Generator to generate your Standard Seeds according to that Time*
-> Find out which one you hit with a Parameter Search at that time (what timer0)*
-> This is now the Standard Seed for the method

-> Input the IVs by right clicking the Output and Display Characteristics
-> Shabam, find what you hit, extrapolate the amount of time you should wait.

*Note you're inputting the time you enter the game after the first timer went off.

So do you need an external clock for C-Gear RNG?

Hahaha I was referring to your DS time there. Remember the time you entered the game when the first timer has finished.
