Ello peeps, asking on behalf on one of my clan-mates:

It's possible to standard abuse on a DSi now right? Isn't it just 8 second delay instead of 1 or something?

Yeah it is. 8 is common, but it maybe different. You should see the number you need to account for when you set the parameters up anyways.

I bred my first Egg move RNG and my first DW Female today yay. xD Also now that I've been doing it for a while I've noticed my SSF is pretty much always 6 frames more than the SF the Reporter gives me. How convenient to know!

A Modest HP Ice Thundurus, that is really nice if that was what you wanted. I wish my own Thundurus had been Timid, but it's too late to change that. And good job on the two Volcarona as well, they look awesome.

And Beck is back in action too! Nice Reshiram, really great. I wish I had one of my own...

now if you move a pokemon from your PC to your party, or if you pick up an egg, that will advance your IV frame by 7, but it still wont affect your PID frame at all

Alright, thanks, then my problem is bigger than i thought.

Here is what's going on:
I have a seed with IV frame 6 and Shiny frame 527.
I am hitting my seed, I know because every time, after walking 120 steps a Dust Cloud appears behind Cobalion.
My starting frame is 56, I'm walking 128 steps with 5 pokémons in my party.
So I advanced 312 times my PID frame. I do 215 Chatot flips. I interect with Cobalion and it's not the Cobalion I want.

I already tried to find a frame 1 seed, but had no success. What am I doing wrong?

Are you running? If so only steps count as 2 PID advancements, but if you are on bike or walking the advancements are 2 for both the steps and the amount turns you do.

Yes, I'm always running, so the turns do not count to my PID frame.

Are you catching the Cobalion to see if you at least hit your seed and see if you are close to your frame so you can make adjustments?

Yes I did, It's always a penta flawless Lonely Cobalion. And I started checking from frame 215 to see if I could figure out which frame I hit, but there are a LOT of Lonely Cobalions, so it's almost impossible to find out exactly where I am.

Edit: I'll try doing 1 less advance without my lead syncer a few times. I'll try to figure out which frame I really am.

Also looks at the characteristics. If that doesn't help then try to RNG it, but just the seed and talk to Cobalion.

hmmmmm i had that problem breeding since there were alot of relaxed nature ferroseeds so it took me some time to get my ferroseed until i relized to listen to the chatot sound to determine the frame...you will get it in no time sweetie...also i guess my question was ignored last time...has anyone have been having problems with the seeds being off without the everstone?? I had it set to none and no pokes in the daycare are with items...I use the everstone and i hit the seeds just fine just without it it acts funny...is there a explanation to this??

having a pokemon hold the everstone effects the PID frame. I think it pushes it back one. Thats a horrible explination so let me clarify with an example. If you have a shiny PID frame of 90 and you give a pokemon an everstone, the shiny PID frame will move to 89/91 (i dont remember if it goes up or down) So, if you searched for a seed in time finder, but left an everstone nature in there by accident, all of your frames are off by about 1. if this is what you did then just take one pokemon out and give it an everstone to hold. As long as the nature that time finder gave you didnt come from the everstone then it will still work. If you didnt mark the everstone down in time finder then im not sure what could be happening.

Im not sure if that made much sense and im not sure i understand how this function of the game mechanics works, but thats what seems to be the case based on observation. Its the same with a ditto parent (another issue you may be having, so make sure that box is checked if it should be)

Probably just your timer0 messing with you. tends to that to everyone.

ahhh okay thought it was me lol...thanks Tdawg :) yeah my ferroseed keep messing with me come to think of it...yeah when i went to hit the seed it keeped being off by one up one frame or down one frame...I advance the frame like the same too...I listened to the chatot too to help...then there he was :D Ill keep at it though for what im doing...someone wants something so im trying to get it for them...

You're using 9.94 I assume? There's a bug that causes the results in the main window to be inaccurate.

If you still have it, I suggest using 9.93 until the bug is fixed.

the only item that affets RNGing would be the everstone and power items. For everstone, just check the box. For power items, just dont use them. Other than that no item will affect RNGing (unless im forgetting something)

Use RNG reporter to check the IVs, if they match up you hit your seed, if not then you didnt. As for checking the nature, it should be the first one in RNG reporter, but there is no way to check the nature in battle. However, the IVs should reflect the nature change so try to go off of that

I had the same issue with it, so that's most likely your problem. Hopefully It'll be fixed eventually. Till then, 9.93 works fine.

Anyway, I have a question. If I was to breed a shiny flawless egg, but I was gonna hatch it on another game, would searching shiny frames using my other game's ID/SID mess with my results? Would it even hatch as a shiny if I traded it to the game with the matching ID/SID?

It could possible hatch shiny that way. Because the seed would match as shiny on the other game.

How do I set up PID%6 in RNG Reporter? The picture in Kaphotic's linked post is broken.

And can somebody point me to a good guide to RNGing the roamers?

And do I need to mash A until Thundurus flies away, or until the rain stops?

And what's a good range to look at for possible frames I hit?

How do I set up PID%6 in RNG Reporter? The picture in Kaphotic's linked post is broken.
You can do it manually by viewing PID frames in decimal form by going to Options in the top-right corner of RNG Reporter and using the PID%6 method (details in the below video). Alternatively, you can simply right-click a PIDRNG frame in RNG Reporter and click "Display Characteristics in Search", then "Get IVs frame IVRNG (Frame 1)".

And can somebody point me to a good guide to RNGing the roamers?
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJi-T_dPxH8) helped me when I RNGed Tornadus.

And do I need to mash A until Thundurus flies away, or until the rain stops?
You need to keep pressing A as soon as you leave the house until the cutscene is over. I think you'll be able to stop once Thundurus flies away, as the rain can't be halted quicker by pressing A, if I recall correctly.

And what's a good range to look at for possible frames I hit?
Smogon has a list of ranges here (http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/bw_rng_part7), depending on the game's season.

Is anyone else out there using RNG Reporter 9.94 and having trouble with PIDRNG? I'm not having any trouble with Standard IV RNG, but for some reason when I switch over to PIDRNG, neither the nature nor IV's match with my seed.
This is my process:
1. Select PIDRNG in the main window
2. Click timefinder
3. Enter in all IV's, natures, encounter slots, etc.
4. Generate. A ton of seeds come up with PID frames
5. Copy PID seed that I want.
6. Return to main menu and paste seed into the seed box
7. Click "calculate initial PID frame"
8. Initial PID frame comes up and I start the game at the correct time and switch between chatots to get to my desired PID frame. Use sweet scent and capture the pokemon.

Like I mentioned to Acio, there's a bug with 9.94 that messes up the results in the main window. If you still have 9.93, I suggest using that instead.

acio thats the same problem i was having with the rng reporter for trying for shinies without the everstone...my seeds pid frame is off by two frames or so if its off by two frames think of every time i hatched it the starting frame would pop up instead of the 5 after the two of the starting frames...strange...if im correct never tried this before you may have to do a massive run around caluculating the true pid frame two frames off what you hit :/ also i got the same results in my 9.93 version so it does not make a difference if you switch the reporter...just letting you know from my experience...

also are you trying to start a sec earlier of the time of the frame....for example 9:52:53 but you would hit the hand on 9:52:52 while the screen blanks out...that sec helps the game load from the main ds screen...that takes that second on the clock to load...if your using a ds lite of course...the seeds will be way off if you don't do this...

Also, is there any NPCs in the house?

I never expected an SSF in the mid 400's when I RNGed my IDs. 250 Chatters is not fun.

And apparently, I should start using 9.93 and not 9.94?

no, there are no WNPCs in the house so your fine.

For RNGing your roamer i would recommend 9.93 as the bug in 9.94 will make matching the frames impossible.

When RNGing the roamers you have to chatter in increments of 10 iirc.

Anyways I RNGed in 3rd Gen:D Only waited 10 minutes for the frame.

You might, but it's the rain's erratic advancement that makes it more difficult to hit a specific frame. I would go for 248, however there will always be chance involved.

That's only really for determining how to advance the frame and by how much your Chatters advance it.

Vandslaux

When I started RNGing, I hacked some of my parents because I was lazy, and I got normal results.

God, I can get 690, I can get 698, but I can't get freaking 694.

I'm guessing my best bet is to keep doing 246 Chatot flips and hope for the best with the rain?

Hacked parents wouldn't give you those strange results.. that just happens sometimes.

Most shiny frames I've had in a row was 6.. it was wild.

This is the worst seed i have ever had to work with in my entire life. It once took me 12 eggs to hatch my shiny flawless Lapras and i thought that was a lot but im 3 weeks down on this damn crusade and i have hit my seed less then 50 times MAX. I think its the down key thats messing with me. When your thumb is bigger than the key pad its kinda hard to hit one button with precision :/ but the select and B buttons arnt my best friends either. If my perfectionist nature ever gives way i could be done with this since i have hit the nature i want about 3 times already, but it has to be shiny. Stupid perfectionism :( It sucks because i already saved inside the house with 3 pokemon in my party so its not like i can search for a new seed and even worse, last night I hit my seed but was 12 natures short of my PID, i adjusted and hit my seed again and did 12 chatot flips more and i was 12 PID frames PAST my PID. I swear im going to strangle this pokemon with his overgrown tail once i catch him

EDIT: *Sigh* hit my seed, did the flips, got the right nature (Naive) the right IVs (31/30/30/31/31/31 HP Ice) and the right Characteristic, but it wasnt shiny. 16 PID frames shy. ******* rain. Timid Nature, Mischievous

MTIRNG Frame: 1
PIDRNG Frame: 714
Default Nature: Lax (without synchronizer)

First part , reaching shiny frame 714 is hard, I almost got lost tracking what frame I am at that time.

second part, catching Volc is a pain, he kept using Quiver dance and Silver wind's boost effect worked 2 times. I was also using Venusaur for sleep powder which made heat wave and bug buzz hurt a whole lot.

Good thing luck was on my side and caught him before I Venu died. And it turned out Timid yay. Or else I would have to start doing that long frame run again. :/

So I want to RNG the lovely Shiny Larvitar I picked up from the VGC yesterday but I'm having difficulties. With it being an Adamant nature regardless I don't know if I'm hitting my frame correctly because its too low level for an accurate IV calc reading :(
I had a flawless seed and thought I'd got it but turned out I'd missed by 2 frames and Sp Def and Speed were wrong.

On that note though what would be a good IV spread for this Larvitar (I have 3 more to pick up) and want a good one for competitive battling.

Hi there guys, I need some help. I've rngd iv's for eggs with succes, now I'm trying to do a shiny egg. However, no matter what I do (what I do is probably wrong in the first place) I can't find out my starting frame (or ssf). This is what I do:

- Bring two pokes to the daycare, one flawless ditto, one litwick
- No everstones or poweritems
- I walk, an egg is waiting, I save right in front of the daycare man

Pretty standard, ofcourse. My next steps are:

- Go to the fifth gen Time finder. Fill in the stuff in the egg tab. (Id, Sid, month, ditto parent, iv's, shiny only,
- Fill in the DS parameters setup (everything is correct in there, only have to change "none button" to "none button" and "one button".
- Fill in the capture tab. (is this even necessary?) (Month, id, sid, min/max frame 8, encounter type gift pokemon, iv's)

I go back to the egg tab and click generate. About 20 things pop up, some with the same time and date. I ignore those and pick a date/time that only has one shiny pokemon there.

I copy the seed and enter it in the main window of RNG Reporter (version 9.94 beta). Method breeding BW, Ditto parent. Then I click the "calculate initial pid" thingy and it comes it with a number. I click generate and a column pops up with a lot of pokemon, starting at the frame that was calculated and my shiny frame is close aswell.

I start the game, pressing the button I am supposed to at the right moment. I know the calibration and stuff, I know I have to press one second in advance. As said before, I managed iv's breeding before. Anyway, the game loads, cgear off and spamming x, use one chatot summary and then I get my egg. I hatch it and the litwick that comes out has no relation to any pokemon in the column at all. Eg. I get a quirky litwick with Male iv's in let's say attack and special attack, this litwick can't be found anywhere in the column. I retry a couple of times and I get the same quirky one over and over again.

What the heavens am I doing wrong? :d

No, it's not necessary.

You seem to be doing everything correctly, so you're probably just hitting a different timer0, which can't be controlled. You can try changing seeds or just persist until you hit your current seed.

I know how you feel. I'm consistently getting 4 frames shy of my target frame, 694, in either direction. I don't know what to do now. I've tried 248, I got nothing reasonable. But at least my keypress is A. This is so damn frustrating. The genies are basically guess and check for me, with a little bit being the rain. It's also extremely frustrating that I wasn't expecting such a low SSF when I RNGed my IDs, so I have to do 250ish Chatters.

You'd be better off using Fly to go to somewhere with high-leveled Pokémon. I always hatch the egg instead of checking my seed, since it takes about the same time as checking IVs. Plus, you can decide if you need to adjust the amount of times you listen to Chatot's cry.

I use the default setting (5 beeps, 2.0 per second). As for the sound, I use the Pop, the others bother me a bit.
As for making it look easy, I can without any doubt say that the Raikou was my hardest 4th gen RNG so far. But still, I do find it much easier to hit delays now compared to when I started.

True that, but I used it now to check whether I hit my seed or not. It seems you were right in your previous post, the timer0 thingy changed everytime. I changed my wanted iv's a bit and searched for something where I didnt need to press a button while loading. I caught a pokemon and finally the iv's are in the adjacent seeds tool aswell. I guess pressing the button (start) was the cause I got all sorts of strange pokemon that didn't show up in the RNG reporter.

I tried a lot of different seeds though (with held buttons), and every single time the timer0 seems to be off. I hope it isn't like this all the time, else I can only rely on "no button" seeds. Anyway, thanks for the help so far. I'm going to try further now.

Or do I have to do everything again, find a seed, time, etc.?

no you can use the same time and everything...you should hatch the same shiny...you just need to worry you hit it the exact same way...for each egg you do again...it should not matter if you do it again...

hope that helps ;)

The Smogon guide (http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_intro) is useful for starting off, then if you need more help feel free to ask here. Also, if you have HeartGold or SoulSilver, use one of those for RNGing eggs on Gen IV, since it's much easier. The daycare route only has one NPC in HGSS, who rarely affects your frame, while DPPt have several.

@RexNovus, don't worry. It gets much easier from here on out, and eventually you'll become extremely proficient at it.

I think I'm getting a pattern with the timer0, I think. Is it possible that the pattern is:

first try: correct timer0
second try: not the correct timer0
third try: correct timer0
fourth try: not the correct timer0,
etc.?

It seems to be going like this for the last... 8 tries.

Is there any easy way to find the IV's I've hit on a Wondercard with a set nature? Especially when it's this low a level :(

And if there are any competitive battlers here what is a good spread to aim for? I'm actually thinking the one I got 31/31/31/31/21/10 may actually be ok for a Sandstream team (apart from the lack of special def :( )

you could always use Smogon's guides for tips about natures and what not, but Jolly, Adamant, Sassy and even Brave are all viable options (im not a battler so there may be some sets that are better than others). As for checking the IVs, why not just use the Subway judge?

Typhlosion X

I remember reading on the Smogon RNG help thread that for Nature locked Wondercards you treat them like any other Wondercard RNGs. For shiny Wondercards, you want to pick a seed with the spread in frames 60 and up, and all possible frames must be 2 frames or higher from the starting frame. That's what the Smogon onsite guide says, but I'm not sure if the same rules apply to shiny-nature locked Wondercards, worth a shot though. And your best bet is to use a hex flawless seed, since they're totally worth it for events, but that's your choice.

I think that may have been the problem, I ended up 2 frames too far so didn't allow for the shiny wondercard factor :(

It's set nature Adamant which is fine, that's what has been throwing me off when advancing the frame, but more interested in which IV spread would work competitively. Can't use the judge until I trade it over as using my event cart which I only play to the first gym then reset to get multiple events (I can't clone to save my life lol)

And now, the hardest RNG I've done to date. Finding my SSF was pretty easy, hitting it was the ridiculous part. 4000+ chatters for this thing, easily, because of Timer0, WNPCs on Route 12, and not realizing having a Swarm active on the Route moves the PID frames around slightly. I used my flawless synchable encounter slot 8 frame I mentioned earlier in the thread, and I found out today that the other low-ish shiny frame in this seed is synchable for Swarms.

All of it's STAB ones are, unfortunately. Rock Slide's a TM though, and nothing is immune to it and Coil patches the accuracy up. I tried now to rng a shiny staryu and found a seed which I found the other day when I was rnging a different pokemon and like the last time I thought I've been hitting the wrong seed because when I was finding the Actual Starting Frame, there was seemingly a matching nature but with a different characteristic, so I thought to myself why not just take a chance, it wouldn't hurt -_-. So I advanced from the ASF to the shiny frame, (knowing that something went wrong with the characteristic), collected the egg, hatched it and to my surprise -- Shiny Staryu o_o. I don't get it because the nature I got on my ds from the ASF matched the one on 'reporter but the charatcteristic was different, and the shiny staryu had both the nature and the characteristic matching in 'Reporter. Did anyone got this type of thing happening too?

he meant you shouldnt try entralink RNGing unless you have RNGed in gen 4. Entralink RNGing is rather difficult and it is advised that you start out with something easier to get the hang of RNGing first. Of course this inst necessary, Lineaire learned to entralink RNG before anything else (iirc) so it can be done. Either way, the answer to your question is yes, DW pokemon are indeed RNG-able and you can control for both IVs and nature (kinda, but we can get to that later :p)

A couple of days ago, I was having trouble with PIDRNG. Neither the IV's nor nature was matching up with my seed. However, I fixed my problem. Well, at least part of it. I found out that I was using a bolded nature seed, when I was supposed to use a non-bolded one, since I didn't have a syncher. After switching to non-bolded natures, I was able to get timid Kyurem consistently on 2 different seeds. However, the IV's are still not matching up! Does PIDRNG account for IV's AND natures? Or just natures? Any suggestions?

Just natures. So when looking for seeds you need to search in with the Standard Seed method.

I really want to get into this because I was breeding pokemon recently for competitive battle and was told that unless I RNG I'd never be any good cause my pokes (with 2 or 3 flawless IVs) just cant beat perfectly flawless pokemon. Can anyone point me in the direction of the best place to start off?

This is dumb. Every time I try to egg RNG my stinkin' shiny Timid Deino I always hit the PID frame 2 after, even after adjusting my amount of Chatot flips. I probably will try some more later.

Hey guys.

I'd like to learn how to RNG abuse (I'm sick of breeding/soft resetting for hours upon hours). Never done it before.

I don't know if this will prove problematic, but I'm dyscalculic which means I have lots of trouble with mathematics, if actually doing maths applies to RNG abuse.

Either way, where do I start?

fret not, there is no math involved as RNG reporter does everything for you. the first thing you need to do is read through the guides and watch the videos, all of which should be linked to on the first post of this thread. Once you get snagged on those, post back here and we will try and explain things for you and help you out :) Or better yet, you might not even need our help and you can nail those flawless pokemon right away :p

Okay, I need help. I am trying to RNG Azelf on Platinum. I don't want it shiny, I just want the spread I found, which is Modest 31/31/30/31/31/30. It gives me a delay of 644, with a j (no synch) of 33. The seed is 9B0E0290. My game gave me a delay of 604, with 23 seconds. So, I've tried this with the eontimer as well as just syching to an external clock, but I keep missing! And the poketch flips keeps saying that what I get doesn't match any that it finds. Help please!

Don't bother with an external clock. EonTimer is much better and accurate. Try to hit your delay, and enter the coin flips into RNG Reporter, as you have been doing. Make sure to make the results that appear very wide, and you should find the second and delay you hit. Then, keep adjusting EonTimer.

The Smogon guide is useful for starting off, then if you need more help feel free to ask here. Also, if you have HeartGold or SoulSilver, use one of those for RNGing eggs on Gen IV, since it's much easier. The daycare route only has one NPC in HGSS, who rarely affects your frame, while DPPt have several.

I still have all of my legends on SoulSilver to catch except for Entei, Articuno, and the Enigma Stone Latias. 5th gen is just too easy, and 4th gen seems more challenging. I don't really know where to start here, the Smogon 4th gen abuse guide seems outdated. I know what some of the terms like delay mean, and I know how to advance the frames, but that's about it. What's the difference between the methods, like Method J and K and 1, and which Methods do I use for Stationaries and Roamers? And for Suicune, does having it in the Burnt Tower basement make RNGing it any harder? Can someone explain calibration to me, too? If anyone answers these questions for me, I'd be grateful.

I just want to know if the way I am going about doing egg RNG is "correct". What I do is I find what the Shifted Starting Frame is and then adjust my advancements with Chatot based on that. I then keep doing those same advances in the hope that the NPC will affect the frame in the same way, allowing me to hit the correct frame eventually.

If I am going about this the wrong way how do some of you guys do it?

Just check the Most Generation RNG thread on their forum. Not outdated at all. Method J is for DPPt so it's irrelevant. Method 1 is for Gift Pokemon, Roamers, and Wondercards. Everything else is Method K so that means stationaires to answer your question. No it doesn't. Calibration is outdated. Just use Eontimer and it will calibrate for you.

from what it sounds like, if you want to RNG on gen 3 all you have to do is hit a certain time right? It sounds like the seeds are all the same and dont change with the game cart right? So if i have a seed for a shiny flawless pokemon, will it be the same on every retail cart i buy, or have i misunderstood something? Also, if that is true, then you wouldnt really need to search for any seeds or anything because they should all be recorded in RNG reporter or on a spread sheet somewhere yes? I think i saw a spread sheet once before, but i dont remember for sure. I think G3 abuse might be a good idea for me because i can start up my game, then do some homework for 86 minutes and come back to catch my pokemon. It seems much less involved and more convenient for multitasking, which would be really good for me atm :p

iirc Method 4 still has the same IVs, just a different nature, same as Method 1 compared to Method 2. allright, so it doesn't, it has the first half of the ivs. Hmm. I seem to remember people saying that if you save that generally the game goes back to producing M2 frames again. But I caught it in Sootopolis surfing, so I don't know if that'll help or not. And yeah, that's the frame I used. It occurs pretty frequently, so it's rather easy to hit. try using a sweet scenter instead and sweet scent as soon as you load the game.

alternatively, did you enter the exact time and date that you loaded your game at from the main menu? Make sure its down to the second and make sure its from when you load the game from the main DS screen and not when you enter the game world from the main game screen

Yeah, I tried that. And of couse I was using the right time :V

The search thing is still giving me 0 results out of like 40,000.

Alright I've found a seed I want to use for my Suicune. Is this a reasonable frame for a shiny?

PID: 866503E8 (Bold, ability 0), IVs: 30/28/25/31/31/31, seed: BF010228, delay: 540 (year: 2012), method 1: 822, K (synch): 781, K (no synch): None, HP: Dragon 66

I'm watching bearsfan092's 4th gen video, and this is all starting to make sense to me. Just to be sure, the 10 Elm calls to verify do NOT advance the frame? Unlike B/W I don't have a starting frame in the 45-50 range? What's the best way to advance the frame, especially for this frame 781 seed?

Vandslaux
7th March 2012, 1:30 AM
Also, while we're on the topic of 4th gen, it's better to use seeds that don't require a timer, right?

And I'm following the Smogon guide, and it says to find your SSF. I have basically confirmed that it's 578 (Calm, Mischievous), since that's the only one that's lower than my (pretty high) target frame of 694, praying that it isn't 705 or greater, the other one. I do 116 advances, and I don't get anything close. Why?

Ok so I have a really quick question hopeful some one can shed some light on my situation...

So I was trying to breed RNG a shiny adamant Pokemon with flawless stats using 2 flawless parents, one of which is everstoned with the adamant nature. I went on to get the seed # and frame # plus the seed time ect. ect.
Anyway later that day ( before I even tried to hit my newly found seed). I used the time finder to find the seed for a shiny jolly flawless poke also using 2 flawless parents, one of which is everstoned with the jolly nature. Some how, and this is the part I'm confused on, I got the exact same Seed, PID,Frame, time, date ect. ect. I've check time and time again there the same results in every way...

Is this suppose to/ can happen? If so doesn't that mean I can breed RNG using the everstone and flawless parent any poke using this seed?

Vandslaux
7th March 2012, 2:22 AM
Why did I get 28 advances when I did 10 flips? I thought it was approx. 1 advance for every 10 Chatters.

And I'm pretty sure the Elm calls do advance. As for the frame question, Radio. IDK which one's most consistent, though, I forgot.

yup, its possible. Just like 2+2 will always equal 4 so too can 2 flawless parents always give you the same seed. Just switch the everstone to the desired nature and you can use that seed over and over for all of your breeds :)

Is there a quicker way to come up with the delay and the seconds for the initial seed other than calibrating in Gen IV and if so what is it. If not how many times should I calibrate to get good data?

Has the newest version of RNG Reporter been crashing in the middle of a search like it has for me? Sometimes all I have to do is restart my computer but it has been doing it a lot recently. Guess I might have to find and download version 9.3 or whatever it is again.

Well, it just happened with version 9.93 too. Guess it must be my computer that is the problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, is this how the process should go for Gen IV?
Find seed -> put target delay in EonTimer -> hit target time -> verify with Elm Calls -> input delay hit and recalibrate EonTimer -> rinse and repeat until you hit your seed -> advance for the target when you do hit it.

What initally goes in the Calibrated Delay and Calibrated Seconds boxes? And whatever does go in there, how do I find it?

The calibration phase is outdated and pointless. Just try hitting your delay and adjust with what you hit using EonTimer.

That's all correct.

Calibrated delay for HGSS is usually 480. From there it will calibrate itself. For DPPt you want a calibrated delay of 600 or so. As for the Calibrated Seconds it should already be 14, but if not then change it to that. That goes for DPPtHGSS.

Hey everybody, I just have a question/want some advice.

I just went through the process of restarting and trying for a shiny starter (B/W 5th gen) and I went through all the steps that are outlined on-line ect. and my starter was not shiny.
Now some background info,
YES, my trainer ID was what I aimed for,
YES, my IV's are presumably what I aimed for (received "alert to sounds")
YES, after frame adjusting I hit the nature I aimed for

but my starter wasn't shiny?? ... and in Pandoras box it said true ... can ANYBODY please give me some pointers as to what could have gone wrong?
Feel free to PM me too!

Thanks!

You should double-check by putting the ID/SID generated by Pandora's Box into the main window of RNG Reporter and generating the PIDRNG frames that belong to the seed. It's likely Pandora's Box overshot, and that a frame near your desired frame is shiny. You'll then need to adjust the target frame you type into Pandora's Box. For example, if you want frame 10 to be shiny, but Pandora's Box made 12 shiny, then type 8 into Pandora's Box. Again, double-check using the generated ID/SID.

Thanks a lot!
When I put the ID/SID into RNG reporter do you mean to use the original seed I used to search for IV's? Or the seed that pandoras box spits out along with the given ID/SID?

The IVRNG frame; the one you put into Pandora's Box.

iirc there are only 4 natures that will yield a shiny hex flawless spread on gen 4, Timid, Modest, Calm and one more that escapes me atm. try easier search criteria like 31/31/31/x/31/31 or 31/x/31/30/31/30 for a HP fire spread. Just a suggestion though, i know nothing of gen 4 RNGing ... yet :p

They're the same Manaphy, the second one was traded to my retail cartridge which the PID that I RNG'd for hatches shiny on it.

Of course, I'm sure everyone is aware of the whole Shiny Manaphy fiasco and how GF made a massive oversight with the shiny prevention with it (becomes normal chance once traded to another game). Thus by default, they consider it "hacked".

Tough to say what you're doing wrong when you didn't tell us exactly what you did and where.

For one, you gotta make sure to not press any buttons until the Nintendo screens shows up. Have the time you started the game inserted, your full DS Mac and game selected. Sweet scent, and enter the IVs you receive. Try this a couple times, loading the game at the same time every time to see if you get the same results.

Ok, so I am using the DS Parameter finder. I synced my DS clock with my computer clock and selected the correct DS type and game version. My Mac address is entered correctly.

This is what I did:

Load up the game at exact time I typed into the Parameter finder. Didn't touch any buttons until the game freak logo was finished. Used Sweet scent and found a Durant. Used Masterball. Typed all of its stats into the IV calculator and hit search. Got 0 results.

alright let see here so you set the exact time you i hit so if you hit the time 8:52:52 for example, then entered your iv stats 31/21/7/0/8/31 for example on top don't worry bout the bottom boxes they will fill in from the top...entered your game white or black made sure no key presses are on none and you said your mac address is correctly entered?

hmmm do you have a picture box for your reporter please if you can so i could see what your doing wrong then? seems like your doing everything right...It happened to me before when i first started then all of a sudden i noticed i messed up my mac address...

Strange. Sounds like you're doing everything correctly. I would try the process several more times (using the same time) and see if you get the same Durant with the same stats.

I used the IV Calculator within RNG Reporter for the specific pokemon and filled in each of the stat values, and it filled it in for me.

I've done it 4 times now. First time I got the Durant, second a woobat, 3rd and 4th Boldore's with different stats.

it may be your iv checker then use the site ^ i posted earlier to check the iv of that poke you caught to double check if they match up the site i gave you, it give perfect iv results...i used a plain iv calculator before and got nothing as well...if not then i don't know then...very strange...what one are using mac or the one for windows beta 9.94...wish i could see your reporter box to see whats going on :/

The pokecheck.org link? I find that very confusing, and I don't have access to WiFi.

That is not supposed to happen if you're starting at the same time and not pressing any buttons. Are you in an area with no NPCs?

ahhh okay and nah its not confusing just deposit the poke like you would in the gts and it clones it and records it to your account but since you don't have wifi it may be a bit harder you just have to find a good iv calculator(did you try serebii's?)...hmmmm let see can you get a picture of your perimeter box so i can see maybe i can notice something wrong your doing if i look at a picture...form your talk you seem like your doing everything correct but maybe i may notice the problem in the picture...that strange your still not getting results...

edit: oh wait he has a point now with the post above are all 4 of those the same time? If it is then thats not suppose to happen at all...se for a ds lite when you start your game up it take a sec to load so when you start your game up at 8:52:08 the game doesn't really load until 8:52:09...that white out screen take a sec...

Theres my Parameter window. So should I start the DS a second before I set it on the Parameter?

You don't have to to find your parameters, only when you go to hit a seed. Are you in a cave that has NPCs in the same room? That could be throwing you off. You should be getting consistent results if you start at the same time and second and don't use keypresses. Other than that, I don't know what the problem is.

yep found the problem your iv are the problem...the bottom box must be the same as the top box to work...so 10/0/2/15/17/16 should be on the bottom boxes as well...this is why i don't like iv calculators they give you a min and max thing that can be incorrect some times...so you got to make sure those iv's are correct and both need to be filled in the same...as your poke you caught true iv's....if that makes sense?

Edit:also yes he right your using in a cave will through you off as well...

no, RNG reporter will take of that for you, just try to consistently hit the same seed by loading it at the same time. If your in an area with no WNPCs then you should be getting the same pokemon each time you start up you game. Just keep trying and you should get it eventually

I really don't understand any of this... lol. What do you mean i dont have to find my parameters except when I want to hit a seed?

There are no NPCs in my room. I'll try doing the same time more than once and tell you how that goes.

well lets see um when you want to hit a seed (your poke you want to find) you need to perimeter search...thats what seed means....

That is not true. You don't need the exact IVs to find your parameters, you can use a min/max range. I have personally done it myself.

not true. RNG Reporter supports ranges and will still return results. It is better to have a narrow range though so you get more accurate results, but a 1-2 point variation shouldnt make any difference

You will need your parameters to RNG. I assume you are on Victory road yes? If not, Cheren's room is a good place to find your parameters. Remember, just because you dont see any WNPCs doesnt mean they are not there. If they are around at all, even if you dont see them, they will still affect your results

strange cuaz i just find it weird when i used iv calculators that nothing showed up or it did and it never hit a seed cuaz it was way off and some gave me pokecheck.org and the iv were fine and i was hitting my seeds no problem...guess it must be personal experience :/

Edit: i just found that Pokecheck.org is a more accurate site in my opinion :/ you guys are more of a master then me at this though...
