No. It's wondercard or GLAN wondercard. GLAN wondercard is special because it's for Gender Locked Any Nature.

Sorry I got off, but yeah it's the simplest RNG yet.

EDIT: Alright so I never thought I could mix working out and Pokemon, but as I wait for a delay I worked out and since this was the biggest troll ever I got quite the workout, lol.

Nice Porygon-Z, TDawg. I also had a bit of trouble getting mine, forgot to record a custom chatter so I had to do it after hitting my seed. And when I got the Porygon, it had the wrong ability (I wanted Trace/Adaptability instead of Download). So I had to redo it all from start, and it took me 15 tries before I got the right delay. I will never do a Game Corner RNG again, that is for sure.

Stuff I have done today:

hey everyone, so I've been working on my Tornadus, but I'm having trouble finding my SSF. I'm saved in the house in front of the door, I walk 128 steps with 2 pokes in my party to advance my IV frame to 3. Then I walk outside and mash A... blah blah blah catch Tornadus and check. I'm also in the winter so smogon said the SSF should be between 260-300.
I've done 0, 10, 11, 12, 20, and 30 advances but I just don't understand what to look for...

Can someone better explain to me how the PID advancement works for the roamer? I watched the video from the first page but I'm still a little confused... Why do it in increments of 10? When looking for the pattern should they be right next to each other, or 10 away? Is it always 10 chatters to 1 advancement? i.e. when I go to hit my target will I need to do x*10 chatters?

Thanks for the help!

And here's my current results:

Date: 4/12/2012 Time: 3:15:30 Seed: 246A9EF71675148A
Target: IV frame 3 (30/31/30/31/31/31), PID frame 1448 (naive, shiny)

0 chatters: Bold, Alert to sounds
10 chatters: Lonely, Mischievous
11 chatters: Naive, Alert to sounds
12 chatters: Quiet, Likes to thrash about
20 chatters: Mild, Alert to sounds

The PID advances are very erratic for the roamer, due to the weather on Route 7. Because of this, there's no point in doing Chatot advances of one, since the rain will make it impossible to distinguish where you landed. Doing ten advances allows you to have a rough idea of where you hit, so that you can estimate the number of Chatot advances you'll have to do to hit your target. You won't get a definitive number, so there's a bit of luck involved.

I had a look at these results (1448 is Naive for me on RNG Reporter, by the way), and there are a few places you could have landed. Could you try doing some more increments of ten?

Hey, I'm finally about to do my Tornadus as well. Got a frame 1 shiny jolly spread on PIDRNG frame 2067, so as it's a Summer month with only the roamers rain after going out of the house and mashing it should have advanced to about 550-750 correct? My question is do I do the Chatot flips while I'm stillin the house? And once you are outside and have sent him on his way I take it everything is set so running around to catch him doesn't advance anything anymore? Thanks

thanks TDawg and do-re-mi no you don't have to set a second earlier when calibrating as well...only one sec time of the timeframe, (for example, 3:23:24...you start your game at 3:23:23 on your clock)...eventhough you have a old ds it shouldn't matter on the timing difference from a ds lite...just the 3ds i think is the big jump...

No just have your stylus and keep waving over the bottom right radio station (so that it cancels the signal and then the signal comes back) as that will keep advancing it by one.

We need to know what your problem is though. Because multiple things can be wrong. The delay you're hitting, what timer you're using, are you checking which delay you hit, and more.

If you have it on your game, it's not gonna disappear when the event ends. I'm not exactly sure what you're doing wrong. Do you have keypresses?

Yes, I have to press select. Then advance 23 frames. I used this guide and followed it exactly: http://www.thegamingforum.org/forum/f11/titans-guide-to-5th-gen-rng-abuse-section-6-wondercard-abuse-290/
So far I never did hit the right seed, I keep hitting the same seeds but not the right one. I already repeated calibrating 3 times just in case I was doing that wrong too, but that didn't change anything either. Does the ds even find the parameters if they're not correct?
I tried all week and I did alot of mistakes at first that I corrected now but this time I did everything right and it still doesn't work so I dont know anymore what to change...Could there just be something wrong with my DS?
Theres gonna be another event soon, do they just pile up or does the one replace the other?

Too Funk to Druck
8th April 2012, 11:53 PM
I'm pretty sure events will just pile up.

And are you holding Select or are you just pressing Select? If you're just pressing it, then that's the problem. Make sire you're holding it til at least the first Nintendo screen, but it's better to go to the Game Freak screen.

This guide is in UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

I've decided to make this tutorial on how to get a shiny starter, where you get it from Elm at New Bark Town.

What you'll need:
- (Optional; though you might need it, just in case if you need it to find the Seed by IV's) AR (Don't ask me where I got it from. Need it, send me a PM.)
- The latest version of the RNG Reporter (9.95 BETA)
- Know your ID/SID (Or know how to RNG Abuse on ID/SID)
- Usable spread of your choice (at least 25+ per stat)
- Use either PikaTimer or Eon Timer of your choice
- SAVE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR BEFORE YOU ENTER THE LAB, or there's no turning back

Starting Frames:
- Chikorita ~ 1
- Cyndaquil ~ 5
- Totodile ~ 9

All three starters are on Method 1.

Take note on this, the NPC moves occasionally. However, the wind ALSO moves. So be aware of it. I'd suggest that you go for at least 15-20, no more than 40 on Method 1 Frame.

Here's how to start:
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3843/capture1ws.png
Before you RNG Abuse on your starter, you need how to RNG Abuse on ID/SID. I'll upload the image where you should RNG Abuse for your starter.

Here:
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7047/hai3.png

Now you got your desired spread and your shiny target, here's the image(s) on the timer I'm using and Seed to Timer:

I'm pretty sure events will just pile up.

And are you holding Select or are you just pressing Select? If you're just pressing it, then that's the problem. Make sire you're holding it til at least the first Nintendo screen, but it's better to go to the Game Freak screen.

I'm holding it down from the moment I press A till the shooting star sequence ended.

Is there any information I could give to shed light on wheres the problem?

Why do I keep getting this delay, which seems to be very close to the one I'm usually hitting, but isn't on RNG Reporter?

My question therefore is am I doing the Chatot flips in the right place? If not when should I do them?

I am a ****ing moron. I spent a whole day RNGing my TID/SID on HG. Why? First, I didn't realize I didn't have the year in in Pandora's Box, so when I was putting in the IDs I got, I wasn't getting any matches. Then, I realized that RNG Reporter 9.95 has a glitch that doesn't let you put in any years. So I finally get the ID I want, which for some reason doesn't give me the shiny frame I want.

Because I was copying the seed in where it said PID, So after my computer stopped messing up, I finally got my ID.

Moral of the story? Read directions before you do stuff. It saves a lot of frustration.

Winter02
11th April 2012, 9:52 PM
How ironic. I also abused my ID/SID on HeartGold today, although I gave it a few tries yesterday as well, but didn't get any results back then. Just like you, I had a ton of trouble. I realized that 9.95 wouldn't work, so I switched back to 9.93. And when I tried to see what ID I had been hitting, I noticed after four tries that I had set the wrong minute in Pandora's Box, making it seem like my results was much more off than they actually were. Not to mention it took me forever to adjust EonTimer to give me the starting time I was looking for. But I was successful in the end, fortunately. I'm not looking forward to do this again later on.

My timer keeps trolling pretty much every other time, then when I do hit it to try and work out my SSF I'm not having much luck with actually working out where I am. dewey911p
12th April 2012, 7:57 PM
600 would probably be to low, especially if your not in a summer month. Just RNG Tornadus several times with out doing any PID advancements. You will probably get through the cut scene at different speeds each time so you will get different natures and characteristics. Since your doing 0 advancements all of your results should be a within a few frames of each other. Search for an area that has your frames relatively close to each other and then find out which frame you hit most often. Take that as your SSF and with any luck you should be able to get you Tornadus

Well I kept hitting the same frame every time when doing no advances, so I did 1, then 2, then 3. My result were Bashful, Impish, Timid, Calm. using Reporter I've looked at possible frames it could relate to.
I'm in summer and the only 2 options seems to be these
Bashful 447, Impish 441, Timid 440, Calm 448 but I think this may be too early a frame.

Post 2 has the advancements for each radio channel, but personally i found Chatot to be a much better option then the radio (my seed didnt produce the right for the channels anyway and i was to lazy to change after i already hit it)

You can't shiny abuse DW Pokemon because there's a shiny block on them. However, if you get a female, you'll be able to breed it, and get a shiny egg.

So I'm about to RNG my Skarmory, and this is how I've got it set up:

Sturdy(will be putting on Leftovers) Impish, flawless barring the meaningless Sp.A, running with: Roost, Whirlwind, Stealth Rock..

My problem is that I'm not sure if I want to run Brave Bird or Drill Peck, Brave Bird doesn't take as good advantage of Sturdy with a Recovery move, and item, but Drill Peck is a significant power drop. I am leaning towards brave bird right now, because I see myself phasing with Skarmory much more than attacking directly, and when I do I may want that extra power from Brave Bird.

That covers a lot of options, but not your best choices. If you go strictly from that list, and neglect looking further in to each one you'll end up missing crucial egg moves.

Not knocking your contribution there, just pointing it out.

I'm trying out Headbutt RNG, and I've hit my seed. I stop at the frame 3 frames before my target, correct? Or does RNG Reporter 9.95 have the 2 frame advancement from Headbutt built in?

Ok so I've upgraded to 9.95, put in my seed, brought up all the characteristics and now I think I'm even further away :(
My Calm, Bashful, Impish and Lonely all came up with Likes to Thrash About. My Timid is Somewhat Vain. However they don't match the one's I was looking at and I can't seem to find any viable options :(

Can anyone help my seed is 0CB76D1952FE0FD7 - Just want someone to help find where I am!!! lol Ask me if you need any other info.

Thanks in advance :)

OK still no luck with this!! But now I've found 2 new Shiny jolly seeds with frames of 493 and 616 do you think these woud be viable (they are both Summer)

I called Elm to 73, considering it had worked before when I advanced to the frame before my target, but I was utterly disappointed when I got a Naughty Hoothoot on frame 73. Does this not apply for Headbutt abuse?

Edit: Got the Relaxed Pineco, but now I realize I had the wrong lead.

Edit again: Now I get a 31/31/31/11/31/31 Relaxed Hoothoot when I Headbutt, which is encounter slot 0, but my seed says 2 for the encounter slot. Why is this?

I now read that the Headbutt encounter slots aren't mapped yet, and I just found a nice seed in which it says 2 for the encounter slot in both Time Finder and the main window.

I get what you are saying, but the main reason for breeding in 4th gen is to get Move Tutor moves and TMs exclusive to 4th gen. But still, Egg moves are important, that is not to forget. I should probably add some important Egg moves to the list as well.

You're probably aware of most of the competitively viable/crucial egg moves that you'd want in conjunction with the gen 4 moves you posted, but some of them really jumped out at me, like:

Shadow Sneak on Gallade
Stealth Rock, Whirlwind (if you want to use them over Spikes/Roar) and Brave Bird or Drill Peck on Skarmory
Outrage on Garchomp
Hi Jump Kick on Lucario
Drain Punch on Toxicroak
Fake Out, and Ice Shard on Weavile (since without breeding you have to choose between Night Slash and Ice Shard)

Just a question- in the time finder, I got a match for a stunfisk that I wanted. The frame said one, so I assumed that I would just sweet scent. Instead of my male, bold stunfisk, I got a female, adamant stunfisk. what happened?

in the main window copy and paste your seed, then hit "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame" from there, find a PID frame that has a bold Stunfisk with the right encounter slot (Time finder should have given you the frame i think). From there just advance your PID frame with chatots

Yeah, you can save to advance your PIDRNG frame by one as well, but you should really try to get two Chatot soon, since they're a much faster way of doing it.

Yeah, I always look at the Egg moves before I start breeding a Pokemon to make sure I don't miss anything.

As for the ones you listed, I agree on Gallade and Skarmory, not sure about the others. Garchomp gets Outrage through Move Tutor and Lucario can use Close Combat instead of Hi Jump Kick. I couldn't find Drain Punch on Toxicroak's move list so I assume it is a 5th gen exclusive move (ironically). As for Weavile, Fake Out and maybe Counter are viable egg moves, but I'm not sure I get what you mean with having to choose between Night Slash and Ice Shard as Sneasel learns Ice Shard through level-up, while Weavile learns Night Slash (at an earlier level, but that can be fixed by using the Move relearner).

Mmm I prefer the breeding method for Outrage because I hate the battle factory, I've seen Hi Jump Kick used in conjunction with Close Combat, or as a substitute for greater power, I'm not sure what KOs it gets over Close Combat though. That's funny about Toxicroak, eek. Annnddd, my mistake on Weavile, I was under the wrong impression about Night Slash.

Eggs PID and IVs in 4th Gen are separated, so when the egg is generated that's when the Nature, shininess, ability, and gender will be determined. IVs are set when you pick up the egg. That's why you're so confused because BW put them together.

okay got it thanks tdawg that makes sense so then once i find the shiny egg its suppose to be at with the reporter do I then go through the iv tab to calculate when to it to pick up the egg correct? also do i need to search peremeters at all for sshg? I don't think you do you just need your sid but i could be wrong its just the reporter has 3 time finders for 3rd,4th and 5th...If i have to then i did write down all iv's and etc and date time for my black version to have its same timer if i upgrade or use it for a different generation, anyway so it should be fine if i change it...

Ok thank you! I will do a few more and post my results
Oh, and my bad... I meant 1448 :p

EDIT: ok here's some more results, and I did each one twice to make sure I was consistent.

Date: 4/12/2012 Time: 3:15:30 Seed: 246A9EF71675148A
Target: IV frame 3 (30/31/30/31/31/31), PID frame 1448 (naive, shiny)

0 chatters: Bold, Alert to sounds
10 chatters: Lonely, Mischievous
11 chatters: Naive, Alert to sounds
12 chatters: Quiet, Likes to thrash about
20 chatters: Mild, Alert to sounds
30 chatters: Serious, Somewhat vain
40 chatters: Adamant, Likes to thrash about
50 chatters: Timid, Somewhat vain
60 chatters: Hardy, Mischievous
70 chatters: Jolly, Alert to sounds

hey so I've been trying to RNG my tornadus using a starting frame at around 739. That was were I thought the best pattern was (had correct characteristics as well)...
0-739/756 10-753 11-741 12-742 20-745 30-759 40-760 50-780 60-806 70-799/835

But I'm a little confused since doesn't smogon say that if you're in the winter the SSF should be around 260-300? But then I feel like that doesn't account for the rain...
Idk, can anyone else take a look or provide any pointers?
Once you know your SSF is there any good advice for determining how many advances you need to do to hit your target frame?
Thank you! :)

Here were some results once I started trying to hit my target frame (but they aren't completely confirmed as I haven't tried each one twice yet...)

690 chatters: Serious, Alert to sounds
700 chatters: Bold, Alert to sounds (thought I hit 1447 here?)
701 chatters: Serious, Alert to sounds
702 chatters: Relaxed, Likes to thrash about
709 chatters: Brave, Somewhat vain (thought I hit 1453)
710 chatters: Quiet, Alert to sounds (thought I hit 1443)
720 chatters: Impish, Likes to thrash about (thought I hit 1461)

I found a pattern which seemed to be roughly fine with Characteristics, natures etc. So I've been trying to hit it all day with no luck, after all the timer trolls and missed seeds I managed to hit my seed 9 times, 5 of which (even though I did the same amount of chatot flips +1 each time appear to vary between frames 840-955) have no immediate pattern. Im looking to know if any one has ever seen any information with regards to the RNG of the mirage island number in RSE ( specifically Emerald),

Ive been reading up about it alot recently and want to find out as much as possible about it.

The number itself is set between 0 - 65536, (0x0000 to 0xFFFF in hex) every day and if it matches the last part of a pokemon's PID ( the bit that controls gender) the island will appear!

What im specifically tryinh to find information on is when this number is seeded, ie, when the game is turned on, you enter route 130 in game or when you speak to the man in pacifdog town about it,

due to emeralds broken RNG it should be possible to RNG the mirage island number, and then hence RNG a pokemon to match so the island becomes visable?

if anyone has anykind of information about this i would be very grateful.

No. If you use EonTimer (Google it or go to Smogon) it will calibrate for you, thus eliminating the process.

Right click your seed and click "Generate more Times..." It will pop a Seed to Time App which will tell you which are viable times. In 4th Gen you're hitting a delay, not just a seed. So pressing A a second before won't work (not sure if you knew this or not so I am stating it now.)

You RNG for EVERYTHING, but the IVs. then make a egg generate and save then you have to hit another seed which will have the desired results.

Can someone please help me with the Entralink RNG abuse I have it all set up like the guide by Zari from Smogon says but I have no clue to what time you start from is it one of the times from the Entralink Seed Search 4035 or is it the Seed To Times / Adjacent Finder time.

The time that Seed to Time gives you but you have to account for the EonTimer.

Is there anyone here who has RNG'd their Roamer Shiny? I'm struggling at the moment to hit the exact frame. To give you the details
My Target is 869, I have done different numbers of Chatot Flips to find my pattern and think I have it.
If I do 245 advances 9 times out of 10 I was hitting what I believe is frame 866 (only frame with matching characteristics anywhere near)
If I do 246 advances I seem to be getting the frames between 873 and 880.
Therefore I'm sticking with the 245 advances, but my question is how do I get it to move the last 3 frames without doing another advance, is there a "BEST" way to mash A when you go outside to time the last few advances and when do I need to mash until?

Thanks

Thanks TDawg so you mean if the first eon timer says two minutes before 08:39:50 I would start the first timer & my DS clock at 08:37:50 right?

you would start it at 8:37:00 since starting it at 50 seconds past the minute is impossible. Just make sure to have 50 seconds in Eontimer so the timer can adjust (or the calibrated seconds if you know that yet)

Wow, after about a month of on/off attempts to RNG a wild shiny/flawless (or near flawless) pokemon of any kind, I FINALLY did it with a Deino seed. I didn't care about nature though so it's a really weird Deino.

Near flawless (30/30/17/31/30/31) Shiny, level 38, Sassy! I know the nature doesn't help it much, but it's still the seed I tried to get and I finally hit it. I'm just shocked it finally worked. Wolveram and myself have had a few fluke Flawless RNGs that weren't shiny, but I was having so much trouble finding a shiny seed I could accurately hit.

Now to try and do these wild encounters more and then figure out the confusing crap regarding Egg RNGs... o.O

congratulations! For what its worth, egg RNGing is, IMO, easier then wild RNGing. If you use flawless parents you will find more seeds, and you will find them a lot quicker too. As for advancing the frame, its just a few chatot flips and your done. there is no IV frame advancement and all you have to worry about is one NPC that is kinda slow and a Timer0 problem, but hey, thats out of our control. Good luck, it only gets easier from here

I totally didn't think that when I look through guides haha. :D That makes me really glad to hear though since I'm gonna RNG a few more wilds and then try to begin Egg RNG with an Eevee egg I have at the daycare, though I might just reset my entire breeding plan and start from scratch.

What might your best tips for egg RNG be for someone who gets the basics but hasn't successfully done so yet? (the starting frames and such are throwing me off still).

for breeding the egg is determined by the time you pick up the egg and the chatot frames...so that eevee you have will hatch to what it was tooken as...this for 5th generation...tips don't turn the c-gear just like wild pokes...it will mess the process up...other then that its fine its mostly the same way but what i told in the beginning...also the frames are the same way with breeding just different tabs, and etc....oh do standard seed abuse...c-gear is to hard for breeding in my opinion...

I dont understand why when you search for standard seeds with nearby shinies theres that required lead tab?
That was never in any older RNG Reporter, is it just for gender. I dont really get it, I assume it doesnt effect IV's
or shinyness?

Just ignore it for the most part. You should only need to really ever use a synchronizer in 5th gen.

min/max = whatever you want (this is the number of chatot flips you will have to do so its how ever many flips you want to do really) as for the starting frame, in the main window copy and paste your seed, the hit "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame" and RNG reporter will tell you your starting frame. Hatch the egg and match it up with a PID frame and thats your SSF. Then just flip away and you should have it :)

Eggs always are on frame eight, as the act of receiving the egg advances your frame by seven. For max PID frame I always set it to sixty, since there isn't really any reason to go higher (except maybe for shiny eggs, but I've never had to go above sixty to find a seed. As for hitting the seed itself, you can check with Chatot Pitches, but other than that you won't know until you hatch the egg.

Okay. So the very first thing I noticed was under Egg Seed Searcher. Once you've input your data and you're searching for a seed, there's a potential for a seed to pop up that has a check mark under the column titled HA. What does this mean?
Another thing is in the Standard Seed Inspector under the eggs tab, there's a column titled "Chatot" with 2 letters and a number. What does this mean? The last thing I've noticed is that the last time I RNGed, despite PPRNG telling you you're initial PID frame, it was never correct for egg RNGs. Is it accurate now? If not, what's the best method of figuring out my initial PID frame now because I used to use the Adjacents tab, but I don't believe that is applicable anymore.

Okay. So for anyone willing to spend their time helping me, my problem is not holding down buttons or starting at the right time or flipping Chatots right. I just caught a Durant that I plan to breed with to get a better one and I did it first try. PPRNG is weird now with RNGing eggs. I'll probably need some guidance on how to use PPRNG to do it because there's some differences in it since last time I did it and I can't hit a seed for the life of me. :/

It just means Hidden Ability, which is the dream world ability, and if it will be passed down or not.

That's for Chatot pitches, which you can use to determine if you hit your seed or not.

min/max can stay the same as it is don't really need to worry about that and the chatot pitchs just like the wild will determine the correct seed and checking the hp and also if you use pokecheck can help as well...okay the starting frame will be determined in the main reporter...depending on your breeding for example if its a international you would check the international if not leave it uncheck same for the ditto, shiny, dw, and etc(everything counts in this or it will not generate correctly) in the time generator box...also if your using everstone too need to be shown too in the box use the egg tab for this...also make sure you know both parents iv's and etc...place those in the box...once the time is genrated like dewey said copy and paste in the main reporter if using international us BW international, if not use the standard BW breeding...then calculate the intial PID frame button...that will determine your starting frame...then skip two frames from the beginning one of the 5 frames after that will determine how many chatot frames you will be advancing with chatot ;) then take that frame - the original frame to get the chatot frames you need to hear the chatots pitch...alright this all i can give you for now cuaz im not sure if your using a ds lite though...i assume you are but ill wait until you get this down pat for this first part of understanding the breeding on the reporter side then work to the game...hope this is understandable...

If it's your only choice then it's well worth it. If you want to though just use Eontimer's 3rd Gen timer. put however many seconds till you have to boot up your game and use that.

3rd gen abuse is something I've been considering taking up. I want stuff like Sofboiled+Seismic Toss Clefable and Swords Dance Qwilfish and if I can somehow get them shiny that would be amazing. I've read up on a few 3rd gen guides, and looked at the 29+ IV spreads for 3rd gen games (which are much better than 4th gen spreads imo). I've interpreted it as being similar to 4th gen abuse. I wait for the target frame to roll around, and hit it like it's a delay.

Which has more pros to RNGing on it, retail carts, or emulators? I'm kind of not wanting to mess with Emulator RNG, at least until I can get a flashcart. I'm not really sure if I can buy them anywhere, and for a couple of months ordering anything will be impossible because I have to move, and then I go to college. Also, which games are best? I have a retail Emerald, and retail Ruby with a dry internal battery, and have access to emulators.

Very much like 3rd Gen, but each seed has a frame so there are no NPC troubles. If anything it's easier to RNG in 3rd Gen, it's just the seeds aren't as good and you will be waiting a lot longer. If you use PID abuse in Emerald I believe you can breed them shiny.

Emulators of course because you can speed it up to shorten the time you wait, by days even. Also emulators have save states so when you mess up you're not completely waiting forever, again. And there's AR codes which you probably don't have a GBA one unless you saved when because they're like $80-150. Emulator is better in every way when comparing it to retail cart.

Shiny Frame - 251

load the game at the proper time (1 second before the target time for a DS, 3 for a DSi and 8 for a 3DS) hold down the proper buttons if need be, avance your frame (if that 228 is an IV frame of 228 keep looking for seeds and change your search options) advance the PID with Chatot, use sweet scent at the right frame to encounter the pokemon you want. Make sure you have a pokemon with the cute Charm ability as the lead and make sure it is female with a gender ratio of 50/50

that may be a dit much all at once so post again if your still confused :p but that frame 228 is a real problem, so i would just find a new seed

Still need help with PID Entralink abuse. In fact, I haven't even been able to find a full guide.

Also, will my Timer0 have anything to do with hitting my Entralink seed? I'm pretty sure it only takes effect for standard seeds, since the game reseeds when you turn on the C-Gear.

At what rate does the PID frame advance, anyway? To me, seems similar to hitting a delay.

Overall, very confused on the process. Even a link to a guide would be a help.

No it doesn't, just the standard seed which is how you get your Nature, but I'm pretty sure you knew that.
As for how many PIDs advance, just look at the time by each frame. That's what time the nature comes across. It's much like hitting a delay.

Do I have this right?

SR like I would for a 4th gen delay, only pressing A at "-Your name- warped to the Entralink!" I have also read that I am supposed to start the third timer at this time for the nature, so what do I do? Do I start the third timer when I turn on the C-Gear at the Continue screen, assuming I'm saved in an area with no NPCs, since that will start the PID frame advancement, then come back to that when I hit my delay? I read that the PID frame advances VERY slowly, approximately once every 1.7 seconds. At the end of the third timer, do I talk to the pokemon? Or should I have already spoken to the pokemon and be on the yes/no screen?

How do I find my calibrated delay? And since my frame is at 1:56.25, I should put 116 in the First Timer in the 3rd gen tab, right? Also, I should keep the HL Calibration at -296, correct?

No, at the first timer boot the game up. 2nd timer press A at "_______ warped to the Entralink." For the third timer, go the 3rd Gen setting and set the first timer to whatever second your nature come across (ignore the second one) and start that when you press A at "________ warped to the Entralink." Then at the end of that 3rd timer you should pressing A to encounter that Entralink Pkm.

That'll be a problem. I suggest just yelling into the mic when recording the chatter and then turn your volume up loud.

I found my calibrated C-Gear delay to be -82. I'm assuming it's just hit and miss from this point? Do I have this process down right?

start game at end of 1st timer
enter entralink at the end of 2nd timer (and start nature timer)
Wait around for the end of the nature timer, say yes

Also, will I have to recalibrate every time I Entralink RNG?

Edit: Consistently hitting the delay below my target delay. I'm hitting 4628, my target is 4629. Would I just change my calibrated delay to -83?

Edit: Hit my seed and Arceus had the desired IVs, but the nature was wrong, a nature about 5 seconds later, Sassy, from Arceus moving 3 times at a speed that was simply unstoppable. Would I set my 3rd gen timer 5 seconds back?

Also, does the time/date it says for the Search Entralink Nature seeds tool matter? Theoretically, with the C-Gear seed being the same, the date/time/second should be the same for all of them. IIRC, waiting 10 seconds longer in the Entralink won't change the seed.

Edit: Does the nature I'm getting have anything to do with hitting my delay for the IVs? I'm consistently getting my desired nature, but not my target seed. It has a cluster of 4.

can someone help me out here? I've been RNGing pretty successfully for a couple of months now but there seems to be a huge difference in what RNG Reporter (I usually use 9.93 or 9.95) lists as my PID frames, compared to the results I get in the game. Recently I even followed the Chatot pitches for about 40 PID frames, and the pitches followed EXACTLY how they were listed in RNG Reporter. Then, when I used Sweet Scent and caught my Pokemon, the IVs were correct (all 31s) yet the Encounter Slot was WRONG (wrong Pokemon species). This has happened to me numerous times: either the encounter slot listed is different, or the nature, or the ability. The only thing that seems to match is the Chatot pitches. Also, the Initial PID frame seems to often be wrong as well.

In RNG reporter, I make sure I select everything needed such as the correct Method, Surfing Pokemon if I'm Surfing, Everstone/Sychronize, Ditto Parent, etc.

Perhaps the NPC are advancing the PID frame (or is it the IV frame they advance? I forget) but then how do you explain the 40 Chatot pitches I followed???

its probably the NPCs, and its the PIDRNG they advance. The reason the pitches match but the PIUD is wrong is probably because the NPCs advance the frame in between the time you finish listening to the cries and the time you sweet scent. that really shouldnt happen, but maybe. Is there any weather conditions in the area, are there NPCs, are you walking in grass/a cave/surfing etc. those are all things that could affect your PID frame

It happened when I was Surfing. No weather conditions. There were NPCs but i cant imagine they advanced the frame because I went directly from my Chatots' summary pages to my Pokemon's Sweet Scent -- I never closed the menu. And I had "Wild Pokemon (Surfing)" selected while viewing the PID frames in RNG Reporter. I just don't get it!

NPCs still move during the Sweet Scent animation, so it could possibly be NPCs. It would certainly explain why your pitches are matching, but you're missing your seed.

In addition they also move during the season screen, while you can't do anything.

Do NPCs advance the PIDRNG if you can't see them on screen? Or is simply being on the route/in the cave with them moving enough to advance the PIDRNG?

As well, I'm finding I'm having problems getting Fraxure with the IVs I need. I'm still rather new to this and while I have been getting several flawless Pokemon, I'm finding some areas are not working well for me. =P

Yes, they do. In caves, it's only if they're on the same floor. If you're not getting IVs, it seems you're having a problem hitting the IV frame, which isn't affected by NPCs. It may be a Timer0 problem.

Any NPC that moves erratically, or NPCs that are trainers whether they're defeated or not that move will advance your PID frames. I think there's a list of places with no WNPCs to hinder you on page 1 of the thread, if you need it.

if you can advance the PIDRNG for wild pokemon you can RNG eggs. There are no IVRNG advancements so once you hit your seed all you have to do is mash X to pull up the menu and then do the proper number of Chatot flips, If you miss your PID frame, adjust and try again. Thats it, its really the same as wild RNGing except no IV advancements and its easier to find shiny seeds. :)

I've been following all the steps, but I think my Timer0 for this game is off. Can't get the ID/SID I'm aiming for. I'll hit the frame, then say no to the name the number of times I need, but I'm always wrong, even when I change the number of nos or try different ID/SID combos. It's too far now to try to correct my Timer0 too, I think.

EDIT: I'm finding that it's hit or miss when trying to "Find Seed Hit." When I hit the Standard Frame and use the ID to try and get the Seed Hit, half the time it won't work and half the time it'll come up with it. And when it does, and I use my new Initial Frame to try and get the Frame needed for my ID/SID it won't hit that ID/SID. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong.

wondercard RNGing is straight PIDRNG advancements. Grab your two chatots, go to the PC at the E4 (or any PC with no NPCs) save, hit your seed, and do the proper number pf Chatot flips. Wondercard RNGing is, in my humble opinion, the easiest form of Gen 5 RNGing there is

But yeah Magester you should be fine RNGing the Darkrai. If you need help getting it started though I am sure we can help you.

Since its just PID advancements min/max should be however many chatot flips you feel like doing. i do 2/150, but others set the min to a lower number and add in additional keypresses (i only do 1 keypress). It really all depends on you, someone on pokecheck mentioned that they did 500+ advancements for their Darkrai. That is not really necessary, but if you dont mind 5 minutes of flipping, go for it,

Just calibrate as you RNG. Eontimer takes the calibration phase out of the equation. Definitely try other ranges though. I find my cali delay is 500-510.

I know I'm hitting my Stardard Seed because I can map out the first catch and a few PIDRNG frames past it, but after a certain number of PIDRNG advances the nature/gender/encounter slots are completely wrong and off. It tends to happen after 9 PIDRNG frames that it'll stop following my list. Does anyone know what's up with that?

Yes. It's the easiest RNG out of all of them.

You might want to state what you're doing. Beginner mistakes may be not setting parameters, not getting your common timer0, not setting custom chatters on your Chatot(s), saving in a Pokemon Center with NPCs, not accounting for your starting frame, and I guess confusing the PID frame with the IV frame.

This is not the thread for that.

As for my question, do NPCs move while you're in the menu screen, unlike BW? Attempting my first SS wild pokemon RNG in an area with NPCs. My idea was to advance to my target frame, taking NPCs that move before I press Pokegear, then Sweet Scenting without leaving the menu?

The problem is, though, IDK if there's any Cute Charmer that learns Sweet Scent. Apparently, BCC frames can be very off without Cute Charm.

Will I just have to pray the frame is correct and use a Sweet Scenter?

No, they don't move while you're on the menu. This makes it very easy to RNG in HGSS, as you can track your frames using the Pokégear and then Sweet Scent without having to worry about WNPCs.
