I've discovered that there is a way to use the Entralink in such a way that you can give yourself perfectly legit, renewable Pass Power Maxes. Using this exploit, I've given myself the means to have the Hatching Power Max and the Experience Point Power Max powers whenever I so need them, drastically reducing the time and energy spent in the breeding and leveling processes in Black and White.

This is copy/pasted from my original post on The Pokedex Project:

*One of the greatest tools that the 5th Generation of Pokemon games has given the players is the Entralink and subsequent Pass Powers. There are a number of Pass Powers you can obtain, which are split into two groups: those you obtain by developing your Entree by building your Black and White levels, and those that are given by the Entree missions you complete for others, or others complete for you. The personal Entree Powers can be obtained by leveling up your Entree (by doing missions in other copies of Black and White) and selecting them from your Entree once you have obtained the necessary Black or White level to unlock them. The other type of “given” Pass Powers are, well, given to you by other players completing missions for you.

While your personal Entree Powers can be useful, such as the Prize Money and Befriending powers, they only last for 3 minutes or so, and hardly make them economical in terms of the amount of Pass Orbs spent utilizing them. The other type of power, the “given” type, last MUCH longer, up to an hour at the longest, and provide the maximum benefit, without a single Pass Orb spent on your part. However, to obtain such powers depends on two things: another player to give you said power, and random chance that your Entree will give said other player the option to give you the power you want, which makes it hardly reliable.

However, there IS a way to reliably exploit the Entralink, provided you have the resources, so that you can obtain the hour-long Pass Powers you want, as often as you need them.

The first thing you have to know is that you need hardware. You need steady access to at least two Nintendo DS systems, and at least two copies of Black/White. This reason alone is why I am guessing that this exploit hasn’t been widely broadcasted over the internet as of yet. Once you have both DS’ and both copies of the game, you need to have gotten to Nimbasa City in the version you wish to get the renewable hour-long Pass Powers in, and at least have obtained the C-Gear in the other version. As far as I am aware, you also have to have a fully-maxed Entree in the version you wish to use the Entralink Exploit on, so that you may get the Pass Power Maxes (Max is the suffix used to denote a Pass Power lasts one hour). Having a copy of White and one of Black to help speed that process up works wonders.

Now, once you have both copies of the game, you have determined which version you wish to exploit the Pass Powers on, and you have gotten them far enough along that you can enter the Entralink of the version to exploit with, you begin doing the Entree missions. For me, I used Black as the version to exploit with, and White to do the missions on Black. I would use my version of White, connect to my copy of Black, and walk to Black’s Entree and select a mission, complete it, and repeat the process until I had completed five of the six missions. I then saved the game on Black after the completion of the 5th mission. This is VERY important to do. If you’ve been guessing it, you’re right: the top two pips of the Entree Hexagon are the pips to select the “given” Pass Power Max missions, and they are randomly generated pending the completion of a “mission cycle”. The reason you save the game after the completion of the 5th mission is to enable yourself to soft-reset the soon-to-be-exploiter version.

Now then, once I saved Black after the successful completion of the 5th mission, I went back in with White, walked to the Black Entree, completed the final mission, and was put back in White’s Entralink, just like always. I then re-entered Black’s Entralink with White, checked the Black Entree, and found that the new “mission cycle” was up, and that the top two powers were “Exp Point Power Max” and “Befriending Power Max”, which were both different from the last mission cycle, and not unexpected. Well, those were the two powers I did not want, so I soft-resetted Black, re-did the 6th mission on it, and re-entered the Black Entralink with White to once again examine the Black Entree. This time, the two Pass Power Maxes were Befriending Max and Prize Money Max, again, not what I needed. So, I soft-resetted again and the cycle continued.

I kept this up until I obtained the Holy Grail of Pass Power Maxes on Black, Hatching Power Max and Exp Point Power Max. These Powers allowed me to give my Black version the power of increased egg hatching rates and increased experience point gains from battle for one hour each, an absolute blessing for the Pokemon Breeder in us all. Afterwards, I saved the Black game and restarted it, and re-checked with White to see what I suspected: I had kept those options for missions to complete in Black. Therefore, by using the White game as the initiator and redoing the missions to give Hatching and Exp Point Max, I could give my copy of Black an infinite amount of Hatching Power Max and Exp Point Power Max, at any time I so desired, VASTLY reducing the amount of time and Pass Orbs spent hatching eggs and raising newly-trained Pokemon.

Keep in mind, though, that the method to getting these ideal Pass Powers was by random chance; it took me six straight hours of play to get the two “perfect” powers. You also have to remember that to utilize them to the fullest, a second DS and a second copy of the game is necessary in order to both give yourself the power and to give it to yourself on a basis that is convenient to you. While it is a time-consuming process, the amount of time you save in hatching eggs and leveling your Pokemon MORE than makes up for it, and greatly reduces the stress of breeding.

Some last notes that should be mentioned: as you know, there is a time limit on the missions, despite the fact that they are re-takeable. If you fail a mission to give yourself a Pass Power, the mission WILL change, and you will be randomly given another Pass Power mission. If that is the case, DO NOT PANIC. You can simply soft-reset and the game will treat the change as if it never happened. Also, once you have your ideal Pass Powers, do NOT allow others to complete your mission cycle on your cart. Even though you can perpetually give yourself those Pass Power missions, if you complete the hexagon set, all the missions will again randomly generate. Just be careful, and if you have the time, money and resources, you can give yourself the greatest breeding tool of all time.*

I think I answered any questions on the post and got all the methodology down correctly, so if you have the means to, well, exploit the exploit, have fun. ^^

Just wanted to say that I've done this, and it's completely worth the effort it takes to get it working. Once you have the max Hatching and Exp Up powers at your disposal whenever you need them, breeding and training Pokemon for competitive battle legitimately (read no Action Replay or such things) is so much faster and easier. <3

I've been playing with this little trick since June. This thread is a good way for people to find out how to do it for themselves, provided they have 2 DSes and two games to use.

The idea of it is to set up the conditions to soft-reset your chosen version of the game in order to give yourself the two most valuable hour-long powers, Exp Point and Hatching. It sounds complicated because, contrary to conventional wisdom, you have to do most of the work on the version *opposite* the version you wish to obtain the powers on, due to how the Entralink works. You're essentially doing the work of another person, giving yourself the powers, so it is a tad confusing to wrap your head around at first.

Because of this ability, I have 200 pokemon in my boxes at level 100 raised from eggs, perfectly EV trained!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Whoa, how long did that take you? Even with the Exploits, 200 Pokemon at lvl 100 is a LOAD of Pokemon. XD

Wow, I'm going to have to try this. This could be so useful. I think I'll personally aim for Exp. and Money, though, as I RNG most eggs and don't use the C-gear to do that anyway.

Not a problem. Yeah, if you RNG eggs, it's probably more useful to have the Prize Money Max power. It's what you're likely to spend the most Pass Orbs on for registerable powers otherwise, anyway.

I need to try this, IV breeding would be so much less time consuming ;)

The only thing I don't understand is, if (for the sake of the question I'll follow your example) White completes the 6th mission and Black uses the Pass Powers, would you just SR on White, back to the beginning of the 6th mission, and White would still be feeling the effect of the Pass Power?

I had those two pass powers for both my black and white for a good while. Then about 2 weeks ago I got distracted and ran out of time on a exp mission XD Tried to get them again by filling in all the hexagons, good to know I can just SR those.

exp max + lucky egg + trade bonus + foreign bonus: 4.95x xp :D and being able to do the daily fights on both games, albeit they'd only get the foreign bonus on 1.
edit: my bad 5.1x with the foreign bonus, 4.5 with trade, but without foreign.

Is it possible for someone to explain this in Simple Step-By-Steps? I am confused :C that would be a great help, thank you :D Also I want to make sure I get the Pass Powers for Pokemon Black so I can level my team for the second round of the elite 4. Sooo tired of Audino's hehe.

Prerequisites: Need two copies of the game, need two DS systems, and the copy of the game you want the Max Powers for (Version 1) must be far enough in the story so the Player Character is at least to Nimbasa City and must have a fully-upgraded Entree. The other copy of the game (Version 2) must have obtained the C-Gear. The reason for Version 1 needing to be in Nimbasa is because the Entralink missions can only be performed in the hexagonal region in the north, none of the cities below it or the Pokemon League. Version 2 does not need to meet this requirement because you can enter the Entralink zone from anywhere.

Step 1: With both systems on and both versions of the game running, use Version 2 to enter the Entralink of Version 1.

Step 2: Play the Entralink missions on Version 1. As you perform them, you will notice that the six mission pips begin to be colored in, as opposed to blank. The color will correspond to the "color" of Version 2 (black for Black Version, white for White Version). Continue to play each of the missions until 5 of the 6 have been completed and colored in. At this point, there should be only one "blank" mission left.

Step 3: Save Version 1's game. The reason for this is because you will most likely be soft-resetting the game many times.

Step 4: Perform the last Entralink mission on Version 1 with Version 2. This will complete Version 1's Entralink mission map. Go back into Version 1's Entralink with Version 2 and examine the Entree. You will notice that all the mission pips are blank once more, and all the missions are different, assigned at random by the computer. The significance of this is that, by soft-resetting Version 1 and replaying the last mission, you can randomly reset the mission map until you get the powers *you want*, and can use Version 2 to give the Version 1 game virtually endless Power Max buffs by simply entering Version 1's Entralink and playing the missions that give said Power Max buffs to Version 1.

Step 5: Examine the Entree of Version 1 and determine if the two Max Powers you wish Version 1 to have are there. These missions are always located on the very top of the mission pip map. I have found the most efficient powers to be the "Experience Point Power Max" and "Hatching Power Max" powers, giving you an hour of 2x EXP and faster Egg hatching, respectively.

Step 6: If those two missions are not what you desire, soft-reset Version 1. This will return Version 1 to a point in time where 5 of the 6 missions are completed, enabling you to use Version 2 to complete the final mission and have the computer randomly assign new missions again without having to do all 6 all over again. At this point, perform steps 4 and 5 again, soft-resetting until the two random missions are the two that you want.


On a side note, I have been reading the comments of some, and it seems that many are indeed confused as to why you would want them. There are a few things to keep in mind: By using "Version 2" to play the Entralink missions on Version 1, you are actually giving the bonuses to Version 1. You do the legwork with Version 2, but Version 1 benefits, which is the entire point. In this way, you can give to yourself hour-long double-experience or hour-long increased hatching speed, shortening the time and energy spent on both activities. It sounds counter-intuitive, but that is just how the Entralink works. The games work by giving "gifts" to other copies of the game, which is why, to give those Max powers to yourself, you need another copy of the game, another system to play it on, and this procedure to be able to benefit from it the most.
