[PG 13 possibly with some suggestive themes and violence]

Approved my RaZoR LeAf

Every being on the planet dreads the possibility of the world they know and love coming to an end. There has been everything throughout millennia, from prophecies to predictions, based on lore, myth or some form of hypotheses. The end of the world apparently is coming, but like tomorrow, it never actually comes. There have been times however, where fate would like to try to prove this wrong, where circumstance tempts the horrible happenings to come out into reality. All have been crushed by the efforts of humans, assisted by the Pokémon they share close bonds with. Time and again they have prevailed, however, throughout history, one thing remained odd.

Humans were always involved in the prevention of world collapse. It never was Pokémon alone to stop the issue in more recent events, and it seemed there was some Pokémon at the cause of this destruction. Many were ignorant to the fact some human was also involved with the cause, but at this point, it wouldn’t have mattered.

Paranoia took over.

This paranoia grew into a global, unnatural entity that shook the very foundation of nature itself. They could sense it, the Legendary Pokémon who were left the responsibility of maintaining certain aspects of nature. They felt this, and could only respond in certain ways to try and correct this anomaly. Unfortunately, the infectious anomaly that was taking over the globe, reacted in a way that would change the known world forever.

Soon governments across the world began to form pacts, something that looked as good as world peace did. People heralded such news, supporting it entirely, unaware of the future at hand. They started to pool resources and support military groups and research and technology in order to form a global military division, known as Environmental Neutralization Division of Government, or ENDoG. No one was entirely sure what these people were to do at first, but after months of unpleasant weather, some natural disasters and Pokémon acting out oddly towards certain people, anything to set the environment back to a safer place was welcome. As technology developed further, the ENDoG core developed a special machine that helped neutralize the abilities of Pokémon, making them as harmless as a house pet. Pokémon of the wild that came within city limits, or attacked people, became zoo exhibits, heavily drained of their abilities so they could do nothing more but eat, sleep and move around while humans stared at them. As time went on, the machines grew more efficient and much easier to get out into the public. However, during this time, it was where Pokémon and Trainers alike protested these machines, knowing it was wrong to treat Pokémon as such, though the majority of the public was getting used to the idea. The riots grew more and more fierce with each protest, soon many ending up in destructive Pokémon battles, and many trainers, and even coordinators, arrested, and put into prison.

Thus, the ban of Pokémon training and battles had its seeding. Owning a Pokémon came with a hefty license, and schools reverted to more economical studies, that of science, mathematics, anything to improve human life or life style. Pokémon and human interaction was decaying into nothing more than pet and master, with the nullifying machines becoming as common as collars. People attempted to still Pokémon train underground despite this, some getting caught and arrested, despite the fact the very core against Pokémon use was still using them to capture the very criminals they were chasing.

Soon ENDoG forces grew great, reaching all of the regions, slowly making its way into Unova, where Pokémon there are in shaking ground. It was time for the true purpose of ENDoG to take flight. They built a much more powerful version of the power sapping and nullifying machines, code named NEEM. They had been researching the increase in natural disasters, pin pointing a specific area of Johto near the Whirl Islands where a source of incredible storms causing mass flooding all over the region had been occurring. They went far into the deep sea caverns, locating the legendary Pokémon Lugia, who was both surprised and angered by the presence of the humans. However, the legendary did not attack first, knowing that the great anomaly was greatly within his abode. The humans saw the opportunity to take this moment of caution, and activate the NEEM. It was then after that, Lugia attempted to attack, however, missed his chance as the bird of legend felt all of his power waning out of his body. The ENDoG group then brought an assault on Lugia, capturing the beast and bringing it to a facility, where a special quarantine resided. The storms ceased, but only for a couple weeks, returning in slow, but climbing ferocity. ENDoG, at the same time, had captured Kyogre, Ho-ho, Articuno, Tornadus, and Thundurus, holding them in other quarantines across the globe.

This is where everything fell apart.

The capture of those Legends wasn’t enough. As nature grew to worse conditions, complete with erratic weather changes, more frequented natural disasters, though in smaller scale, and this prompted the continued capture of more of the Legendary Pokémon. Nature became sickly with the imbalance, with more and more common Pokémon attempting to rebel against the humans they knew to be responsible. The Legendary Pokémon who had less of an impact on the natural world, attempted to either free or assist the role of their other brethren, either becoming captured during the rescue, or becoming weak enough for simple capture by a by passing Hunter or Mercenary, paid by the government to help capture these Pokémon.

Arceus awakened to the disturbance, and seeing what was going on, knew that he could not assist with a direct assault, knowing he may fall victim to the technology the humans had invented, and therefore, leaving the world to destroy itself. Instead, he called out to all of the Pokémon, captured or fleeing, telling them that there was hope still somewhere in the grim dark. He allowed each legend, the most powerful of them all in some cases such as Shaymin or Latias and Latios where there were more than one, telling them to give their abilities and their powers to a soul of a human they knew to be the most compatible. He would allow this, knowing the humans infected with fear would not expect such things, however, the humans that were aware of such powers, may be corrupted by evil or the power itself, causing even a faster coming of disaster.

It was a gamble the world was going to have to take. Arceus knew that the entire power of one Legend could not be contained within one human being, and thus, looked to the Items of Lore to hold onto the rest of this power, masking their existence from humans and other Pokémon until the time was right. The god then looked to Darkrai, asking his powers of giving these humans a message through their sleep, of what was going on. Darkrai knew what had to be done, knew that his ability would provide the truth to these chosen human beings.

Who are these humans of which Arceus speaks?

Humans, more specifically, trainers that have hidden underground for years, training in secret, maybe not even existing in forms of paper work or computer files. Some invested their time to developing personal and portable PC systems in order to store Pokémon captured and trained as in the days of a decade ago. Even Pokeball technology had changed, allowing Pokémon caught in these modified balls to be immune to the effects of the nullifying machines effects. These trainers, and their Pokémon, know the world is not how it should be, and that something is terribly wrong. They never knew how wrong however…

Taking the name of Freelancer, the international group of underground Pokémon trainers escaped notice from ENDoG eyes, operating carefully and cautiously. The Pokémon League may no longer exist, but these people train, as if it was for their lives. Everything within the Freelancer communities operated smoothly, however their lack of knowledge on the true situation was their only disadvantage. One night, a large raid was planned on one of the facilities where reprimanded Pokémon were being held in Kanto. This raid, was planned out top to bottom, for all possible circumstances, good and bad. When the group of renegades entered, they didn’t plan to be ambushed by the last thing they had expected to see.

Genesect.

The insect turned war machine from overseas completely obliterated the operation, with few to escape with their lives. This was the night that suspicions of the Freelancer community began to arise, as did loyalties within the group itself, and most importantly, the one thing that would separate the normal Freelancers from the rest.

The Nightmares.

Nightmares of a single Pokémon, it’s agony, it’s cries, it’s strife and it’s time left before it would expire. Only few Freelancers at first stared having these dreams…no one knew why, but rumors started to stir within the underground that one Freelancer knew…wherever this person was, they had the answers. These humans, then started noticing strange happenings around them…almost as if they had something else inside of them. Their intuition grew, knowing that they would need to find the truth, and where Pokémon of myth and legend had disappeared to…

Before the world dies…

Only impossibility standing in their way.

The Role of the Marked Freelancer:
A rebel trainer hiding underground, you have nightmares of one of the Pokemon of Lore. You start feeling different, as if a change in your very life force has come upon you. Soon you start noticing that you are not normal from other people. You know that something is severely wrong, and look to finding out the truth about the disappearances of the Legends. Come high or hell water, you need to find them, break them out some way. Fight against the ENDoG forces and rebalance nature.

The Role of the ENDoG Forces:
As a trained member of an international government body, maintaining public calm and peace is your top priority. Finding the remaining Legendary Pokemon that are left, untamed, unwatched and free to cause chaos is even more priority. Everything is on a need to know basis, and the public is not on the knowing basis. Most of all, any and all rebelion must be surpressed in order to ensure these things happen.

You may play as either or roles, or another role other than a Marked Freelancer or ENDoG operative. Just run it by me first.

RP Rules:
Typical RP Rules apply, no god modding, spamming, flamming, bunnying without permossion, and so on.
Only one Legendary Pokemon Mark per person if playing a Marked Freelancer. Once it's claimed, it's claimed. You may reserve a Mark, but only for 48 hours.
Marked Freelancers are harder to kill than normal people and have more survivability with things such as stab wounds or gunshot wounds. However, clearly some wounds are fatal no matter what...
Marked Freelancers slowly gain awareness and more control over their power, and are not able to use their signature move until they gain control over their special ability. This won't happen until some time into the RP itself.
ENDoG's do carry fire arms yes, but please don't go shooting everyone...
I like post headers...

Info about the RP:

Freelancers ask if another person is a Freelancer by asking ‘What do you dream of?’ at some point in a first meeting. The other must reply with the legendary Pokémon they have been having nightmares about, knowing what the true intent of the question is. ENDoG’s have no information regarding this special greeting and wouldn’t give the answer said Freelancer would know about.

The dying legendaries are passing their power into the humans that call themselves Freelancers, once they know of why they are receiving dreams and or discover their powers, becoming Marked Freelancers. These Freelancers have nightmares about a particular legendary Pokémon, knowing their cries of pain and roughly how long they can hold out before their soul diminishes from this earth. Arceus grants the legendary to do this, hiding in his own plane of existence away from humans to give the world one last hope.

All legendary Pokémon, unless listed below with the exception of Arceus, are within quarantine facilities somewhere throughout the world. These facilities house the Legendary Pokémon somewhere out of their natural element, for example, keeping Kyogre in a desert facility or Ho-oh in an underwater one. Underwater facilities like to move as giant submarine vessels where as some even remain in the sky as massive air crafts.

List of still free roaming Legendary Pokémon:

Giratina: Held up in the Reverse world, it attempts to repair our world through the Reverse world, though very much in vain.
Deoxys: Hiding within the depths of space, Deoxys remains nearby the moon in attempts to help repair the imbalance of nature.
Jirachi: In the Millennium Comment, almost ready to circle once again past the planet.
Kyurem: Frozen itself within its cavern, a solid glacier blocking ENDoG forces from capturing it.
Rayquaza: Dodging ENDoG forces within the Ozone layer, however risks its own life by attacking small operations alone from high above.
Mew: Using its ability of transformation to avoid ENDoG detection though has only so much time before they catch on.
Regirock, Regice, Registeel: Rumor has it these Pokémon, previously owned by a famous trainer, lay hidden in the ruins of the old Battle Frontier. Which one, is an entire mystery.
Darkrai: Hiding within the realm of nightmares in order to communicate the dreams to the Marked Freelancers.
Suicune, Entei, and Raikou: All still free running around the globe, however are being tracked by the government in some form.
Uxie: Abusing his ability to make anyone forget his location, while proceeding to move to another one.

Legendary Pokémon in multiple numbers:

Shaymin: Not all of the Shaymin have been quarantined; some run around in hiding in small groups.
Latias/Latios: Use their light bending abilities to remain hidden, though few remain outside ENDoG reach.
Phione: Many reside in inconspicuous water bodies with their ability to melt into water.

Other Legendary Pokémon:

Genesect: Currently ENDoG’s big gun, while the free will of Genesect is being surpressed, what is left of it is transferring power to his Mark Freelancer.

Mewtwo: The genetic’s lab are reconfiguring Mewtwo to have his memories and personality of that to what the ENDoG want it to be. What remains of it, like Genesect, is being used to transfer power.

What is Illegal within the current time throughout all of the Pokémon world:

Pokémon Training
Owning a Pokémon without a license and or permit
Bringing Pokémon into public areas without the NP collars on
Harboring those who train Pokémon or a wild Pokémon
ENDoG forces have political freedom from these laws unless suspected of treason

All accounts of law breaking will result in jail time varying on the severity of the crime.

The Powers of the Marked Freelancer
As a Marked Freelancer, these people have special abilities that are slowly being transferred to them by their legendary counterpart. Either to prevent the world from ending, or to assist those who are attempting to put the world back in balance. Aside from the typing of certain legendaries giving the human attributes such as being able to resist cold if they are an ice type, or making one more agile if a flying type, or having more endurance for the rest of a steel type, each legendary gives a special unique ability. Though some lesser legendaries still roam free from the escape of imprisonment, they still transfer some of their power to assist the dying ones who are trying to keep the world from reaching a critical state.

I'll keep notes of importance here, but now we have official discussion thread!

Should we copy and paste my questions here for easy access? Would probably get lost in the signups thread, and it's interesting info IMHO.

And yay I can "talk" with pokemon. Thanks.

Last question for now. I recall in the movie Sight Sharing worked the opposite of how you implement it, where Latinos could share what he sees with a person or a group of people. But you're doing it the other way, sharing the sight off of somebody else. Are you not allowing to be able to go the other way? As in both sharing my sight with somebody and sharing the sight of somebody else.

What exactly do you mean by "impurities" in Shaymin? Do you mean injuries or diseases?

If you recall watching the 11th movie of pokemon involving giratina and shaymin, you would understand that shaymin acts like an air purifier and can turn what would normally be toxic to pokemon and people alike into an attack, aka seed flare. In a sense, think of it this way, you suck in impurities from the air, turn it into an explosive energy, and release it, damaging enemies.

Of course, sucking in impurities (and diseases), will cost you a bit of health and if you suck in too much, you could end up poisoning yourself. Does this help clarify seed flare for you?

I don't see why it can't work both ways in the latter of the RP. I think I may of only put it one way for the sake of not trying to have two abilities the same, as that list was a bugger to make.

I shall post questions when I've got some time. Dun worries.

Ah so allowed later? OK. And what do you mean not having two abilities the same? Some other poke has sharing own sight with others? Which poke? I didn't read the full list....

Please my I have a couple more days? Like three or four? Life has been taking my internet time lately. The past couple of days mom needed me to go shopping with her and translate or carry stuff/push the cart and I come home tired from all the walking. Also screws up my sleep patterns. I'm frigging up at half past 1am.

I meant trying to make sure each legendary mark had a unique power as I created the list. XD Nothing more than that.

And yes, you may have an extension. Just remember to breathe dude.

Oh, I see.

Thanks! I have a lot of the stuff done in my head already, just can't seem to get a free couple hours to start writing on my computer between needing to go out with mom and then resting from the outing....

We have another outing today she needs me for after my doctor appointment. Seriously I hate this week and it's barely halfway now. At least I think I finished my sign up for Teen Titans on like Monday, and Grassmaster just got back to me. Guess it's just as well since I wouldn't have been able to post anyway.

Yeah, the rp is now up! Quick question, where is the freelancers' main base?

Slipomatic
7th March 2012, 2:05 PM
I'm going to assume that there are no main bases, just multiple bases. Although if there is to be a main base, it probably would be Mount Silver for Kanto and Johto region, somewhere inbetween Lavaridge, Verdanturf, Rustboro, and Fallabor town for Hoenn. For Sinnoh, I'd think it would be based around Mt. Coronet and in Unova, I'd wager in Mistralton Cave or Lostlorn forest. That's just my guesses, Saraibre will have to be the one to tell you though.

Likewise, where is ENDoG's main headquarters located? Castelia? Jubilife? Goldenrod? Saffron?

We'll go with Saffron, although branches exist everywhere else. It just seems to make the most sense.

This assumption would be correct. There are a multitude of them all over the regions in places rather difficult to get to. There isn't a true main base, but there is one larger than the rest per region.

I'm going to say Pokemon Mansion for Kanto, Mt. Silver for Johto, the abandoned Battle Tower for Hoenn, Mt. Coronet for Sinnoh, and Lostlorn Forest for Unova becauseI han't thought of quite here I wanted it there yet, and I like your idea. XD

I still like my sewer maze idea for Castelia. Was hoping that could be the main base, but nevermind.

I don't object there to be more than one 'main base' for the Freelancers. No doubt they'll need a back up.

gmoyes
8th March 2012, 11:29 PM
I kind of see Mt. Silver as being one of the most important bases. It's probably the most seclueded and the best guarded. I mean, Blackthorn is to the west and I doubt that the dragon tamers support ENDoG, the old pokemon league is to the east, and nothing but mountains to the north and south. Not to mention that there are tons of strong wild pokemon all over the place. And of course, the head freelance scientist is stationed there XD. How about the ENDoG forces raid the caves? You guys do realize that the Freelancers are supposed to be on the offensive, right? Sure doesn't do the captured legendaries much good if you just sit back in your burrows and wait to be raided. In the meantime, time sure isn't on your side either. The more time you waste, the more Pokemon training and battling gets squeezed out of society.

Point is, we don't need to come to you to win. Heck, ENDoG doesn't even know the Freelancers exist.

Nah, the amount of detection blips would be enormous, and the results inconclusive. Definitely don't think ENDoG would waste any money on something like that.

well, I have one way of doing it and that would be a counter propaganda. Starting off in smaller towns where ENDoG aren't as heavily around, essentially be a ghestis and preach about things that ENDoG have been doing and give very logical reasons why nature is being messed up. For example, like how ENDoG is trying to capture suicune and if they succeeded, then water sources would start to become undrinkable and some towns would have to evacuate due to not being able to drink unfit water. Point out that legendary pokemon are supposed to roam free of captivity and that ENDoGs solution of capturing all legendary pokemon is not the solution for who are they to tamper with nature using science to play god.

My character does fit the bill to give speeches due to training herself in public speaking. But this would be one way of fighting back and attracting unwanted attention for I'm sure ENDoG would arrest for protesting against them.

Well, that works until ENDoG starts creating sewage treatment and desalination plants to purify the water (which I would be surprised if they didn't have already). The trick is substituting real life modern day solutions for whatever things those legendary Pokemon covered.

ENDoG wouldn't arrest you for public speaking. If they did that, it would make them look like fascists and wouldn't give them the respect of the public for crushing basic freedoms of speech. They would, however, keep a close eye on you and would see where you go and who you associate with. The NSA might start looking into your past records and see what comes up. But of course, that depends on how many people you try to reach at once. Go anonymous or lie about your name and the public may think if you can't trust them with your real name and/or you keep your face/identity hidden, they can't trust you either. Tell the truth about who you are and you'll have followers... and not the "good" kind.

That's not a problem if you give them no reason to be suspicious and you're open and honest, and you follow the ENDoG law and regulations while you appear in public (which unfortunately starts reducing your value to your allies). But it could become a problem for you if you start talking around and leave a bread crumb trail back to the Freelancers' bases.

Make a choice, I look forward to seeing it.

The problem is that the my character weighs both the pros and cons. He remembers all the things humanity did things to mess things up. He also realizes that the massive increase of technology could lead to bad things as well. He even fears that this could lead to martial law or a cyberpunk-style dystopia. He is already a highly-wanted criminal. I was kinda wondering why everyone was playing hidey-hole. However, my character is preparing to strike. He is going to one of the least densely ENDoG influenced areas to go and find his brother for some supplies.

He will then free Ho-Oh and then head to Sinnoh to check on Uxie.

I would like it if the Vendrix Brothers were mentioned at least in one of the ENDoG posts.

Seems like a lot of Freelancers are playing on defense, which is definitely not a good idea. You guys have like triple the amount of RPers than we do, so it's pretty surprising. From what I see, everyone is waiting for someone else to take the initiative, because they probably feel that is there's trouble and things don't work out for that guy who jumps forward first, well, they made the right choice by sitting back and waiting. But if things go right, only then will they jump in to help out. You guys need to come out together if you want things to work out. Leaders can't be the intended fall guys destined for the meat grinder.

I'm also surprised gmoyes is letting ENDoG come in and raid. Why do that if there's already a PVP element in the RP? Second, that devours time and effort he could be spending toward helping out the Freelancers mission of getting the legendaries back. I can see what he's trying to do, get ENDoG to do something vile and destructive so a dash of bad PR can be used. Truthfully though, I don't see that being effective, and there's quite a few things I'm pretty sure I can use to counter that or even worse, justify it and use it against him.

I would tell you what I would probably do if I was on the Freelancers side, but I don't want to because... well, you might actually be tempted to use it... :P

I believe that one of the reasons many of the Freelancers are currently playing defense is that a lot of them are rather spread out, where as ENDoG is also spread out, but has more resources in terms of people. That's something I'm working on fixing with the Shadow Triad. There is also the fact that the Freelancers should be working on either discovering they have powers or starting to practice them. I'm also having that worked on...

I'll post sometime soon, my rea life took a dramaic unexpected turn and it's still something I'm trying to get over.

I can answer that question easy DVB, it's called progression. To "All of a sudden, gain these abilities" would be too fast too god modding. If you haven't read carefully, my character is already aware of that something is wrong. And since my signature move is metronome, I do have free reign on how to progress towards it. I mean, just about any task will be a step towards it, something as simple as discovering something to life threatening situations.

I am progressing at the pace I want it at, which is real slow. I don't plan on my character reaching full power till about a weeks time after rescuing Mew. Although metronome is the signature attack for mew, I'm going more on the bases of disguises, aka transformation, and blending in better as being the part of development. The metronome attack will have to be spontaneous action as all it takes is waggling a finger back and forth and then... disaster.

I take a realistic approach towards gaining powers, not be one post, weak, next post, extremely strong. I might throw in increased awareness of surrounding area and at most, ability to do telepathy at very short range along with better understanding of pokemon talking. (Never going to go full understanding, more like reading their body language and voice, along with what context of question or statement that was stated before the response of pokemon.)

Well, you need to have Diego and his brother do something major that ENDoG would notice, like what storymasterb, strategiser, and Septic Scepti1e have done. Once you do, I'm sure you'll get Jonathan's attention.

@ Slipomatic

Well, you can kind of thank strategister for this. I imagine ENDoG's control over Altomare is low, and just got MUCH lower thanks to Hoenn now being distrustful of ENDoG. So I honestly think you could go there without very much trouble at all.

@ storymasterb

Hope you weren't disappointed with Jonathan's response.

Also, I don't mind if the Freelancers got access to the legendary Pokémon locations either. So you can go ahead with the rest of your plan, smb.

Aside from all that...

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if the Freelancers had immediate access to their powers and abilities (in fact, I honestly think they should have them immediately). I don't consider that god-modding in the slightest. Too many RPs I've seen where powers are something people get over time ends up being that people don't get those powers ever. I'd rather see people being inventive with them rather than sweat and strain trying to "unlock" them. We get enough of that annoying "unlock" thing going on in video games as it is...

Okay, cool. In that case, next post, I'll have Ben give Connor the locations, and then move out on his journey to get that info to as many Freelancers as possible.

Though, bleh. I now see that point about Jonathan being scarily charismatic with his aims. It gave me serious feelings of 'You Bastard' reading his thoughts on Ben's message :O. I actually kind of feel sorry for the guy. Damn. Talk about an Anti-Villain... why does it feel so much like I'm going to have trouble seeing Jonathan as a vil... bleh, can't even call him a villain. An antagonist.

Power-wise, I'll be working on fairly stable progression. Right now Ben's power over time is instinctive (so generally it'll work when he/someone he cares a lot about is in danger), but he'll learn to consciously control it fairly soon, after which it'll move towards him slowing down/speeding up time more and more and ultimately him getting Roar of Time.

*wags finger and lands on.... Metronome* I'd laugh so hard if this ever happened.

I don't worry too much on powers, I'm planning on good old fashioned pokemon battling to be the main way of freelancer battling. I look at it this way...

ENDoG = evil team who has money, power, and weaponry to do what they want. They seek control of everything and want science and technology to rule what happens, not letting legendary pokemon or people have free will.

Freelancer = rebel group utilizing guerilla warfare tactics to achieve what they want which is destroying ENDoG bit by bit. They are also the violent, radical group that wants to see the return of what ran the regions beforehand.

While I imagine Togekiss isn't supersonic, it can learn Extremespeed so that has to be a testament.

Extremespeed is a short-term attack and isn't something that can be used over a long period of time realistically speaking, or Togekiss would expend too much energy to be able to fly. It's not an ability, it's an attack. It isn't about luck, it's about realism based on the scenario an circumstance of the RP. I am going to reiterate once again here:

The two legendaries were released in Kanto skies, not Sinnoh skies where Deigo is. There isn't anyway that Diego would have been able to see them flying over since they're not near that region whatsoever. Yes information would speard like wildfire but they were JUST released. Also, you got that information while flying, which I find somewhat unrealistic even if equipment was being carried by your character, at high altitudes on Pokemon backside, it wouldn't work very well. It's not about the perspective of time, it's about how much is being done in a span of time compared to what is capable of being done in a span of time.

Uxie has very little reason to trust anyone, even the Freelancers. Those that are in hiding are trying to stay that way from everyone, and as Uxie is a Psychic type of knowledge, there is more sense in Uxie hiding himself further from the assassin that is being sent after him, rather than staying in one place and being found by someone, possibly the assassin who might have been following Deigo. There are too many circumstances where Uxie would be in danger and given the critical state of nature, that's the last thing Uxie needs, is to be in danger. There are too many bad circumstances outweighing the good for Uxie to be found by anyone, and Uxie, being a being of knowledge, doesn't have much of a reason to take a chance. Finding legendary Pokemon that aren't captured yet takes a very large amount of time. The assassin after Uxie hasn't started much after Uxie yet because of the massive time lapse. ENDoG would have more resources to find Uxie than Deigo, so him finding Uxie that fast is unrealistic.

To add, an HOUR? Only one hour to find a legendary that has no reason to trust anyone looking for it with less resources than a militay organization that has specialist looking for the remaining legendary Pokemon? That isn't realistic whatsoever. Especially if you tried to fly through a storm. Also to add, how did you find out all the information you did, even if you were carrying equipment, while flying through a storm? That is unrealistic. You haven't considered the actual possibilities of what your character is pulling off to be actually possible to pull off in the Pokemon World.

If someone takes a long time to update, check up with said person and see what's going on.

No one has even acknowledged my character's existence so far in this RPG, not even by the ENDoG organization, considered Diego and his brother's infamy.

Realism compared to what is probably and what doesn't make much sense in terms of creatures that don't have godly powers, in this case, a regular Pokemon versus Arceus. Extremespeed is an attack, it lasts for as long as an attack should last within reason. A Pokemon using Extremespeed over a long period of time would lose energy rather fast and at a rapid rate. On top of that, Togekiss aren't known for their speed. If it had an ability like Speed Boost, then I would find it possible, because abilities can be constant. Extemespeed is a temporary boost of speed, not constant. You're having a Togekiss fly over a masive distance in a storm using Extremespeed as the reason for the fast travel? Togekiss would get work out from the storm AND using the attack constantly, it wouldn't have lasted very long whatsoever.

And no, no assassin has been following Deigo, but that possibility is one of the circumstances as to why Uxie would have prevented anyone from finding him or allowing anyone to see him, aside from many others. Also, infamy of a criminal compared to the entire state of the world, looking at it, a government group would probably be concerned about the welfare of the world. And once again, Darkrai's powers only work as a messenger when other Freelancers are asleep. Also, no one has acknowledged my character exists either and she has a reputation in the Freelancer society, but bassed on what has happened, she hasn't made any viable contact with anyone yet.

Jonathan Bishop's a busy man, and currently, other people are making more of a noticeable, monumental impact in terms of what is affecting ENDoG. Also, even if you get Uxie (Sabi permitting), how is Jonathan to know Diego was the one who got him? Or even a better question, would you really want him to know about that?

If you want other people to notice you, interact with them and/or do something groundbreaking that would get noticed by a lot of people, such as the attack at Mossdeep. Don't go stealthy-like and then wonder why no one spotted you yet. Isn't that kind of the point?

There are several easy ways of getting ENDoG's attention, chief among which is a direct attack on their headquarters. Another is giving speeches out in public which would gain attention quickly once word spreads around.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, to gain freelancer attention, you would have basically do what their main goal is and that is to attack ENDoG. There are a few freelancers that you can get attention by interaction by face to face, not through darkrai.

I plan on having my character get another nightmare soon as soon as I make the next post, whenever that happens.

Sabi doesn't bite, trust me. She just wants to ensure fairness and people are reasonable. I think most things within realism of the anime would be acceptable. Bend the rules a bit, but don't break them. I think it's okay if you stretch a few things, but don't do it too much and all at once. No problem, good luck with school and all the best.

In the meantime, I hope no one minds if I RP from the perspectives of the NPCs in ENDoG, just to keep things moving along.

That's fine with me too. I've been a bit busy, but my post will be up by this afternoon

I don't know if I should make a post on the next day as I'm halfway hesitant as I'm in a different day already. I plan on starting the speech in Pewter City and perhaps getting detained by an over-enthusiastic ENDoG officer for disturbing the peace. I also plan on having Mithal caught in the open with her pokemon with the collars on, then taken off, in a display of protesting against ENDoG ways. Be prepared to be lectured in the ways of eye opening facts of control. I just want input from ENDoG side as to how serious of a problem it would become if a public speech ended with such problems, even though a freelancer essentially walks up, give a speech, and then removes collar in open defiance, despite making no moves towards violence.

Well, I already hinted in an earlier post that the pokemon will most likely get shot at, with aim to kill, no matter what happens. Trainers would probably be facing arrests. Marleena herself would probably start opening fire right away, but that's a personal reaction, not an official one.

Hmm, I see things have kind of slowed down with this RP. So I figure this might be a good time to reveal the truth. Several of you fell face-first into my hidden trap, but I can see you made an honest attempt to pull yourselves out of it at the last minute. So, what was that trap?

Turning the tables around and making the Freelancers look evil, and making ENDoG appear to be good. And it was working incredibly well. How was this working? First, I consult the Bible of Role Play, Dungeons and Dragons :

Characters of this alignment believe that an orderly, strong society with a well-organized government can work to make life better for the majority of the people. To ensure the quality of life, laws must be created and obeyed. When people respect the laws and try to help one another, society as a whole prospers. Therefore, lawful good characters strive for those things that will bring the greatest benefit to the most people and cause the least harm. An honest and hard-working serf, a kindly and wise king, or a stern but forthright minister of justice are all examples of lawful good people.

Jonathan Bishop was intended to be like this the entire time. I made him to have good and honest intentions, but things went awry simply because he thought he could make things better and safer. One bad assumption with the legendaries happened and he tried to do whatever he could to fix it, until the Mossdeep incident. Seriously, you can't really blame the guy for not being able to trust legendaries, especially with what they're capable of.

And on the other hand...

These characters are the bane of all that is good and organized. Chaotic evil characters are motived by the desire for personal gain and pleasure. They see absolutely nothing wrong with taking whatever they want by whatever means possible. Laws and governments are the tools of weaklings unable to defend themselves. The strong have the right to take what they want, and the weak are there to be exploited. When chaotic evil characters band together, they are not motivated by a desire to cooperate, but rather to oppose powerful enemies. Such a group can be held together only by a strong leader capable of bullying his underlings into obedience. Since leadership is baded on raw power, a leader is likely to be replaced at the first sign of weakness by anyone who can take his position away from him by any method. Bloodthirsty buccaneers and monsters of low Intelligence are fine examples of chaotic evil personalities.

Okay, maybe you guys hadn't totally fallen into the secret pit trap yet, but Benedict killing innocent ENDoG employees along with leaving Jonathan Bishop a rather hateful message:

"He's dead." The outcries on the other end fell silent. "Let me explain myself. We're soldiers, like the men who protected this base. We are soldiers of the world. We represent the world you seek to kill. The GWI, the imprisoned Legendary Pokemon. We hold these crimes against nature as sins for which ENDoG must be punished. While your regime holds the nations of the world in its sway and continues the brutal oppression of Pokemon, we will not stop. We will not halt. Only when we see the last of ENDoG's laws broken to nothing will we say 'enough has been done'." He paused. "So report this to your superior. Tell him to take it to his superior. And so forth, until it reaches that bastard Jonathan Bishop on his throne in Kanto. We will not stop here. We cannot be stopped. As long as ENDoG exists, we will attack it. We will strive to end its reign of oppression and domination." He stopped once more. "So run along. I hope Bishop hears my message." With that, he took off the radio headset and threw it down, crushing it underfoot.

"Bishop... be afraid," he muttered, crossing to a computer terminal.

But truly, that whole post just painted an absolutely beautiful picture of how black and merciless Benedict's heart was when dealing with ENDoG. Rather than try to reform them or make them see the error of their ways, Benedict felt it was better to just outright slaughter them all even by just association. And what Harris Roberts did at Mossdeep was just downright evil to the absolute core also. And Jared, great job killing a whole team of ENDoG operatives when they had already lost Kyurem to Nightshade the Zoroark, who also could have found a way to disable the vehicle using a bit of the surrounding environment (especially with it being icy) and snatch the Pokéball away using an Illusion technique rather than attacking and wounding one of the soldiers. Batman would have just shook his head in disbelief at that one. I figured if you guys weren't able to read Jonathan's thoughts and posts and use that OOC knowledge to suddenly alter your paths and try negotiation instead, I think the nasty trend would have kept on going.

But all of you... fantastic job at keeping up the unwarranted hate at Jonathan Bishop when all it took was negotiation, communication, and understanding. It's true what they say when the road to hell is paved with good intentions. All because of a simple misunderstanding. Well, that concludes tonight's social experiment. Very interesting results indeed...

...

Anyway, as a bonus to spike up the interest in the RP and get things moving along, I have a proposition:

Hoenn declaring war on ENDoG, and using some ridiculously unethical and downright evil methods of doing it, thus causing global crisis. In other news, Harris Roberts unable to sleep at night anymore. Yay or nay?

I vote for yay on harris roberts not being able to sleep. I'm actually considering having my freelancer defect and become a neutral bystander. In other words, supporting neither side, although she would want the old school back. Of course, the only reason she hasn't left freelancer side yet is because she hasn't been kept up to date and she hasn't had time to read the current news. That might all change once she does. She's all for helping pokemon, as long as no one is hurt on either side. But I wonder... Can I really write up a post with one of my pokemon being essentially killed on site for active display of protestment against the collars hm....

Ya, this past week was hectic, so my posts have had zero planning. Also, I have to agree that Harris should regret his decisions as it would make the most logical sense. Also Neo, I am quite frankly undecided now about having Nightshade contact you. Mainly because others have felt/feel the need to have their character take a stab at contacting you. I'm not saying that my idea of having my character speak with you sparked the idea with others; its just that, realistically, I would see Bishop growing rather irritable about having third party members or other freelancers just now wanting to get peace talks going. I had intended for Night to simply learn and understand ENDoG's reasons for what they started rather than talk about peace (after all, a Pokemon's argument and Bishop's argument are going to be heavily biased no matter what is said). So, I am now leaning towards not bothering; however, if you/Bishop would not be encumbered by all of these "other" freelancers contacting you and add Night onto the list of "those who want to speak with the enemy" list, I will reconsider and plan it for a future date when he is not busy with everything else.

Secondly, the war sounds like a excellent idea. What a nasty way to turning a save into a fail all over again (yes, my two cents on what I thought of it). At least, that is how I am looking at it.

Well, this sounded rather critical; I know. Anyways, I'll see if I can post anything after work tomorrow and go from there. I think I am starting to lean towards an uprising of Pokemon. Once the "Musketeer" trio/quartet (whichever applies more fittingly), I think they would help spark a revolution and form "Nature's army." Only fitting. Obviously makes ENDoG's decision much more "good," but I like to make things more realistic in approach. Should be fun to see this start up.

EDIT: Why is it Neo that every time I read your posts here, I keep making a connection with Necros's "Magus" characters. I swear, I am starting to see Bishop, after your little note on the previous page, where you make it seem as if every step is a calculation and every post from us is either a misstep or a lucky break. I'm pretty sure that Night got away from being characterized as being falsely labeled to the public as chaotic evil, but now I am starting to reconsider every future and past endeavor for both Nightshade AND Sylene. In other words, I accept that challenge.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to read Bishop's posts and say 'who's on the good side?' Though if there are any negoiations going on, I would like my charicter in on it. Though not yet of course, I have to get him out of the caves first and I had an idea of trying to make allies with the dragon tamers of Blackthorn. Of course, while there there's going to be a lot of philosophical talks. I would guess that they don't agree with ENDoG's ideas but would only fight if attacked. The dragons would be some valuable allies, hmm? Anyway, the only thing that Alex has really done against ENDoG is computer programing and killing a soldier that really pissed him off. However, he didn't go on a rampage killing every soldier he saw, he listened to Craig's story. Let's just see how the hostage situation finishes huh?

Bleh. Damn. This is exactly the issue I'm having. Seeing ENDoG as an oppressive regime and... yeah. The issue is that I essentially had this perception of ENDoG as a more oppressive, tyrannical regime and the Freelancers as freedom fighters and just... yeah. I dived into 'FIGHT FOR FREEDOM' too fast. I'm not quite sure where to continue with Benedict from here, because dragging him into someone more moderate and willing to compromise seems off.

But now it feels like I'm playing the bad guy and damn I have trouble with that. It makes it far harder to justify to myself anything extreme I have Benedict do. But. Yeah. In general, I'd say starting a war between Hoenn and ENDoG/everyone else would be an interesting step. As for Benedict, he'd probably then try to free some Legendaries to cause more chaos for ENDoG. But first, Dialga. I think, Septic, that I'll be going for the same sort of aim of a Pokemon uprising. At some point I'm also thinking of having Benedict meet up with some internet-savvy Freelancers and getting the list of the containment facilities out to the wider community of Freelancers. Just to start another problem for ENDoG.

But damn, I'm having trouble dealing with playing the bad guy. But. Hm. The issue seems to be, like, the Freelancers are Chaotic verging between Neutral and Evil, and ENDoG are super Lawful Good, but to the point of Lawful Stupid concerning the Legendaries.

I think I need to start talking to some of you more. That might help me figure out how to deal with stuff.

Just a curious note to ask. Will a marked freelancer be able to feel a strange vibe in them (or a sixth sense) when they start getting near their legendary pokemon?

Since by now more of that legendary's ability will have pased onto their counterpart by now, and looking at my last post, the answer would be yes. Considering the escalating situation for both people and the world over, anyone can get more into their superpowers.

I left you a note in my VM to you, but you may have missed it. So here it is in here: do only human freelancers get the privilege of being marked, or can a Pokemon, say Night, become marked?

Slipomatic

I think I can answer that question for you. I believe the answer would be only humans since in a way, the legendary pokemon lack something that they think only the humans have that can help with their predicament. You can easily guess what it is, but one easy reason why it's only humans is the fact that the majority of the pokemon don't really think outside the box. I have a few other ideas as to why they would choose a human, but some of those theories are a bit harsh in terms of comparisons.

*totally did not see this VM*

The idea for the RP specifically had humans inherit the powers, as if Pokemon did, that would give more reason for the human race to be paranoid about their sole demise while Pokemon strived onwards. Arceus specifically asked for humans to be marked in order to strive to save what he could and bridge the growing gap between humans and nature, as that is what Pokemon and trainers relations was meant to evolve and represent in a sense. When this relation was obviously threatened and soon ENDoG started capturing the legendaries, that's when Arceus decided to do, as he had put his trust in a human once. [Bit of a movie nod here] So having a Pokemon marked, for the plot, I can say it isn't possible. Arceus and the other Legends are trying to have humans they believe they can trust in order to kill the mass chaos and fear, with the idea that humans better relate with their own kind than Pokemon.

Well, so much for a war with Kanto and Hoenn. DVB, I may be the only one, but I feel that the President getting blown up inside a plane is 1) a complete buzz kill and 2) illogical. For my first reason, I get he is an NPC and all and is subject to anyone's whim's, but I think that the plot that was going on was rather cool and now it just goes up in smoke. My second reason holds more truth in the fact that all planes are able to handle any kind of lightning, whether it is normal lightning or I'll go on a limb and say Pokemon lightning. They are built to handle it and any turbulence a plane does go through is never in regards to being struck. It's all Physics and how metal's (among other things) work. I'm not big on Physics, so I don't want to come off sounding like I'm into Engineering and stuff like that (hate it actually), but that was one thing that I did pick up on while I had to take Physics 2 last semester.

EDIT: As this posts proves, I am still kicking around here, so I'll have a post up later tonight or tomorrow. My guess is that while I may have a small discrepancy about Hoenn's president dying, I'll carry on unless R.I. agrees and asks for a change.

Actually, I have another point against the death of Hoenn's president. Nowadays, if an airplane has to go through a storm, I can almost guarantee that they simply avoid going through a storm by flying above the storm clouds. What idiot would try flying through a storm hm?

I plan on having Mithal try to fortify Altomare, unfortunately, we don't have a latias/latios marked human.... Sides, I'm not going to act like I'm the one running the RPG like a certain someone is doing and let Saraibre handle that. I also noticed that once I left that guy at the very beginning of the RPG, he has not made a single post ever since then, at least in the rpg.

I'm... not too fond of the way Quincy was conveniently and anticlimactically killed either, but I have a way to keep things going even without him. And possibly make things even more interesting.

In fact, I can use what both of you guys said and have Hoenn's Vice President make the claim that it wasn't a natural thunderbolt, but instead one that was made as an attack on behalf of a Pokemon. And he'll accuse the Freelancers and DSO of doing it because they're the only ones that don't have NEEM collars being used. And because the legendaries were just released and ENDoG no longer has control over them.

Although I threw in Operation Crystal as an idea of a secret last resort plan that Mithal had in mind, I'd like to see what ideas you think it might entail.

Although I haven't done anything beyond throwing the idea out. It's going to be a joint collaboration of what the freelancer RPers want. Granted, it can't deal with it directly attacking ENDoG.

R.I. Saraibre
17th April 2012, 4:52 AM
Well we do need to get the Freelancers together within the RP, but since they're being targetted now and Cantus is attempting to imprison them, they need to work on getting together, working out their powers and trying to stop anythin else rom being nuked and Hoenn from being the Pokemon equivalent of Atlantis.

Marked Freelancer humans give off a different energy or aura because of the new life force, so perhaps those with said ability *coughnightsadecough* could use that to their advantage. This however makes them blips on the radar screen to an extent. I plan on having Shay and Jingka break out of their prison within a few posts. By then at least word of Cantus should get out thanks to those two, so I think a big collaboration would be an idea.

That and I've enertained the idea of getting Bishop and Shay in the same room and having a discussion...

Avenger Angel
17th April 2012, 5:11 AM
I'm debating on who to be responsible for the helicopter attack Bishop is dealing with right now. It could be either Cantus' goons trying to capture Bishop, or Cassandra Wood, trying to take over ENDoG and kick Bishop out of the picture (while lying to the public that it was the nuke that was for Bishop's death, not her followers killing him). Both choices can create a interesting situation that the other can't create.

I'm just not sure how soon it would be for Cantus to be trying to capture Bishop. If I'm jumping the gun with that, having Wood be responsible for the attack would create an interesting internal turmoil instead.

R.I. Saraibre
17th April 2012, 5:52 AM
Either way, whatever Wood does is what Cantus expects based on her personal profile. He just wants everything in a coplete mess in order for him to do what he thinks is a pilgrimage to perfection. Cantus sees Bishop as no use or much of a threat without his oganization, and is basically using Wood as another identity. Cantus is a very patient man, I mean he's timeless for gods sake. More than likely, there would be one of Cantus' Operatives undercover as one of her goons to keep tabs on everything to the big boss guy.

Now the sooner Bishop gets some backing to him, be it ENDoG, or even Freelancer, and starts fighting back, then he's gonna make actually killing him a priority.

I've thought of the idea that Shay actually agrees to work with Bishop to stop Cantus and try an solve the world problem for the moment, as much as she hates his guts...and...well every other organ in his body and more.
