Announcements and New Info

I'll try to keep new stuff up top here for easy reference.

After watching things, I realized that there does need to be a group meeting for the characters right at the start. Due to one character mentioning 4 in the afternoon, the meeting will be set in the evening of when most of you arrive. It'll be a general information thing. If someone comes after the meeting, the information will most likely be the same

Also, I am allowing you to take control of NPCs like the League members; I'll take the first few in the next post or two to give a reference for things. Generally, keep them within established character

Current Main Plot: Members of the former Pokemon League have banded together over the years to avoid Plasma's forces and find a way to overthrow them. They have tried traditional methods of gathering power (training up powerful Pokemon in a team and deciding things with Pokemon battles), but this has repeatedly failed. With the help of Tao, they have come upon two new possibilities through finding people who could make a blood oath with legendary Pokemon and finding a group of gijinkas that were made by Plasma but abandoned later on. But most of these new recruits aren't ready to take on a force like Team Plasma. They need to train and prepare themselves.

History

In the region of Unova, a peculiar idea was formed. The Seven Sages of Team Plasma, led by the charismatic Ghetsis and the mysterious King N, began to tell Pokémon Trainers that maybe what they were doing was wrong. They spread stories of Pokémon suffering in captivity while humans misunderstood signs of the pain they inflicted. In the streets of every city, they put on large productions where Ghetsis and the other Sages made speeches professing their cause. The other members of Plasma were outstanding citizens; they may have been pushy with their views, but they never stole Pokémon and they volunteered for many charity efforts. And they refused to support any business or organization that used captive and trained Pokémon in any manner.

And the idea took root and grew. Citizens of Unova began releasing their Pokémon. They were initially saddened to do so, but felt that it was the right thing and tried to be friends with Pokémon without using Pokeballs. But Team Plasma advanced in ever more radical ways, such as insisting that humans belonged in the cities and towns, while Pokémon belonged in the wild. The two should live in separate realms. In this way, the Pokémon would not suffer in slavery and the humans could develop true independence and freedom.

There were signs that Plasma was not as innocent as they claimed to be. The members of Plasma were secretive about their daily lives, kept small Pokémon teams, and grew confrontational with those who wanted to keep their Pokémon. The Seven Sages all kept Pokémon teams, with Ghetsis having a well-trained and extremely powerful team. At the top was N, hailed as their King and legendary hero. He had awakened and captured the mythical Zekrom, had became the Unova League Champion, and was said to be able to fully understand any Pokémon. Even he said that people should release their Pokémon so that they didn’t suffer. Plasma said that they kept Pokémon to prove their understanding of them, and to enforce the release should people refuse.

There were people who refused, particularly the members of the Pokémon League. But as more and more people released Pokémon, the public pressure became stronger to shut down the League and make owning Pokémon in Pokeballs illegal. Team Plasma gained political power and worked to make it so. The Leauge and others resisted as best they could.

And Plasma won. The Unova Pokémon League was shut down, Pokeballs became illegal, and Pokémon were set free. Those who formerly made their living off of the Pokémon traditions, the Gym Leaders, the Nurses, the shop keepers, the Trainers, they all had to change their lives or hide their activities. While some Pokémon remained close to their human friends, most were sent off to live back in the wild.

With their goal accomplished, it was believed that Team Plasma would release their own Pokémon. But they did not. Ghetsis took control of the whole region and enforced his power through his Pokémon, having no hesitation to use them against defenseless people. He made sure that every Pokeball in the region was destroyed and that no one could stand against him. Strangely, N dropped off the face of the Earth despite being proclaimed a King. Ghetsis was the one in charge and no one was to doubt him.

Some people did try to fight him, but without Pokeballs, no one could pull together a coherent team to challenge Ghetsis. Those who still had captive Pokémon, primarily the Gym Leaders, Elite 4, and the previous Champion Alder, had been hunted mercilessly by strange men called the Shadow Trio. They went into hiding around the region after Drayden was publicly killed. While other regions have denounced Ghetsis’ actions, they are reluctant to start a war. They have placed an embargo on the area, allowing no ships or planes to go to Unova. Team Plasma makes sure that no ships or planes can leave Unova in turn. And thus Ghetsis ruled Unova with an iron fist for ten terrible years, hidden away in Plasma Castle behind the eight gates of Victory Road, which can only be opened by someone holding eight official Gym Badges.

Current Day

Over the years, several groups have rebelled and tried to overthrow the tyrant. Ghetsis himself rarely appears outside of the castle but when he does, his Pokemon are devastating and his authority is overwhelming. One group in particular has been centered around Iccirus, gathered by Brycen and others following him. About a year ago, they recruited a peculiar man named Tao who claimed to be a modern day oracle. There were certainly many strange things about him, such as being accompanied by a pair of Pidoves, one pure white and one pure black. His devotion to the cause and deep insights won over the trust of much of the group.

After proving his worth, Tao made an offer: he could awaken the legendary Pokemon around Unova in order to help overthrow Plasma. But with one catch: a blood oath must be sworn in order to get their full assistance. It is said that if a person of the right qualifications becomes linked to a legendary Pokémon, that person will be gifted with a portion of the legendary’s power. Such power was not meant for mortal hands, though, and links can only be made with one legend. Tao also said that he could pinpoint potential partners for the legends, and some were already within the rebel group.

A few of these people decided to try this and accepted a pendant that Tao had, which represented the power of the legendary Pokemon. The divine beings still slept, but their partners could contact them through dreams and prove their worth in that manner. And yet, it has not gone entirely smoothly. One of the human partners has died, and another was thrown into a catatonic state. Some others have had difficulty, but not as bad as those two. What powers have been found have proven useful, and the group has decided to allow Tao to fully awaken the legends and send out the remaining pendants to their potential partners.

Before this effort could begin, though, another breakthrough was made by Brycen, Grimsley, and Alder. They have discovered documents that prove that Plasma was plotting a regional take-over from well before they appeared. Part of this recovered history shows that a scientist within Plasma discovered how to blend Pokemon and human genes, creating beings that were a mix of both. Most of these gijinkas were possibly considered failures at the time; their powers were sealed. The successful ones were the Shadow Triad. If these people could be found, then their unique abilities could prove a great help to the rebels. Or to Plasma, if Ghetsis decides to call them back first.

The tenth anniversary of Ghetsis' reign is approaching and he is making motions to consolidate and gather power again. What is he planning on now? Could the divine partners and gijinkas be the extra edge that the rebels need to take out Team Plasma? Or will this acceleration in power lead to the destruction of everyone?

Your Role

You are one of the rebels seeking to overthrow Ghetsis. Do you mean to restore the old ways, or will you try to take over yourself? You have also become recently empowered with capabilities far beyond the human norm, either in swearing your allegiance to one of the legendary Pokemon or in discovering that you are a gijinka with sealed powers. And this person they call Tao is responsible for unlocking these supernatural powers. Are you going to investigate these mysteries, or will you simply enjoy that power? Or will you end up crushed and corrupted by trying to be more than human? The answers to those questions are things you will have to discover for yourself.

This is a large-scale long-term role-playing game in the setting of Unova where Team Plasma has won. While there is an overall plot and structure, as well as an in-depth world, I allow a lot of freedom to players to pursue their own plots and affect events in motion. This ends up with a game that may be on the challenging side; I am willing to help out, but my main idea is to give you my fan interpretation and let you play within it. Also, I run a slow and steady pace, so please don't rush.

With this restart, the game has become more complex, but I hope it is more interesting in that way. There are two roles players may fulfill: that of the partners to the divine legends, and that of the sealed and forgotten gijinkas. At the restart, you may play only one of the divine partners. The gijinkas are not as restricted in numbers, but a gijinka cannot be a divine partner. Both roles have important parts within the overall plot, but do be aware that I have yet to reveal everything (even in the first version).

The State of Unova Under Plasma
(or, a super-condensed version of world data)

Unova is completely cut off from the world at the start of the game. Other regions of the Pokemon world have a trade embargo on Unova, while Plasma's forces keep any ships or planes from coming or going across their borders. Even internet, phone, and satellite links are blocked off; this region is truly on its own. But around the northeast coast and the western mountains, Plasma seems to be building its military forces.

Civilian justice is handled in a harsh manner. There are no excuses, although leniency can be earned by entering Plasma's ranks and taking part in a re-eduction program. This program tends to break people's wills and turn them into an emotionless servant of the state. However, some psychopaths slip through the re-education and become especially cruel members of Plasma. Members of Team Plasma are disciplined internally, although they seem to be able to get away with murder (and other things) if they are fighting 'enemies of the state'.

Some people have been known to simply disappear, both civilians and errant members of Plasma. It is rumored that there is a secret high-security prison somewhere in Unova; while Plasma does not admit to having one, they do not completely deny it either. Other times, rebels and criminals are dealt with in public executions, or silent assassinations. The media is censored or state-run.

Pokeballs are extremely scarce in Unova, as many were destroyed shortly after Plasma's takeover. However, there are cases where Plasma will allow a person or family to keep a Pokemon. The Pokemon must be registered and the owner must have a license. Researchers are allowed some Pokemon as well, provided they keep Plasma informed of their data. Pokemon registry is prohibitively expensive and a Trainer's license is so complex that it requires the knowledge level of a lawyer in order to keep up.

There is a lot more to this Unova than is written here. The combined maps and characters of the original games and the sequels will be used, but until we have English release (for my personal reference), the new areas and characters are to be avoided. But since Plasma won at the end of the first game, the second game has not happened. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. The answer is probably in my notes.

Pokémon without Pokeballs

It is near impossible to acquire Pokeballs in Unova under Ghetsis’ rule. However, there are two ways in which you will be able to befriend Pokemon and gain their loyal assistance. The legendary partners can use their pendant to befriend five regular Pokemon. The gijinkas can convince Pokemon to assist them in a similar manner as Pokemon Ranger, with three permanent Pokemon partners who choose to stay with them.

For the pendant holders, they must find and befriend the Pokemon they want for their team. Once the Pokemon agrees to join you, you must touch them with the pendant and nickname them. This will allow your team to always be able to locate your pendant (and hopefully you with it). The pendant’s power will also heal them faster when they rest, but not in any battle situation.

You are allowed to befriend up to five Pokémon at a time. If you want to befriend a different one when you have a team of five, you must release one. This will sadden or anger the released Pokémon and it will run away, never to be found again. You may start your team off with one already befriended Pokémon who was your companion before you received the pendant, but no more. The sixth position is always taken up by your linked legendary.

For the gajinkas, you may look human, but you have a scent and aura that Pokemon recognize as being like their own. Most humans cannot notice either of those signs. This scent and aura will encourage Pokemon to consider you similar to them, so they will be friendlier from the start. Or, they might try to challenge you personally to a battle. This may have occurred even when your powers were sealed, but it will be more prominent when they are unsealed.

Once your power is unsealed, you can then ask Pokemon to temporarily join you. They won't be loyal and may leave if something else attracts their attention, but you should be able to get them to work with you for a little while. On the other hand, if you help out the Pokemon and work on befriending it, the Pokemon may decide that it likes you enough to travel with you. It will consider you a pack leader. Because of this, you do have responsibility to care for and lead your 'pack' as best as possible. A disgruntled member may leave, or even attempt to challenge your authority. Gijinkas do not have to nickname Pokemon, but for the vast majority of cases, getting a nickname greatly pleases a Pokemon.

For all... you cannot understand Pokémon speech. You can grow to understand a Pokémon’s body language and sounds, but it will never be on the level N had. Figuring out what a wild Pokémon wants or needs will be a big part in befriending them. Gajinkas can understand Pokemon better, although specifics and nuances will be lost.

The befriending process should take at least two good length posts. And it should show effort on your character’s part, not an unexplained instant attraction. It will be a non-legendary Pokémon in an area that makes sense to them: a Klink is probably not going to be hanging around Pinwheel Forest, for example. If you want your Pokémon to evolve, ask me and I’ll determine if it’s ready.

Because there are no Pokeballs and the PC Box program has been demolished, there is no way to store your Pokémon. They will always be out and around; they can wander off on their own, but they will come straight back if you call out their nickname. Pendant holders can call their Pokemon from anywhere by holding the pendant, while gijinkas have to hope their Pokemon are in hearing range. Also, the Pokeballs did take care of some things that made training more convenient. You will have to feed, groom, bath, and take care of your Pokémon like they are animals. The vast majority of Pokémon can take care of themselves, but you will have to keep their needs in mind in order to keep their friendship. If the Pokémon are neglected, they can break their connection to the pendant and run away. The legendary Pokemon will never run away, though they can rebel. And since your mind and soul are connected to them, that could be quite bad.

If your Pokémon faints, then you’re stuck where it fell unless you have a way to move it to a safer place. The pendant’s power will allow it to recover given rest, while medicines, berries, and some Pokémon moves will help it heal faster. There are still nurses and doctors around who know how to heal Pokémon, and they will help any who needs it.

Most people in Unova realize now that the push to release Pokémon was a sham, but they cannot do much about it. Many will be willing to help you out. But some are either afraid of or loyal to Team Plasma, and they might expose your powers.

Copying more info from SU topic...

Oath of the Divine

If you are just starting out in the game as a partner to a legendary, you will receive a letter and a pendant from Tao informing you of the situation. The pendant is an object that has been enchanted by the legendary Pokemon that will be your partner. In order to activate it, you will have to touch it with your own blood and ask for the legend's assistance.

The powers that you acquire through the legendary Pokémon are based on which one it is. You will not start out an instant master, although some knowledge can be innate; these powers must be practiced and learned. Most legends have requirements that you must fulfill before you can exorcise your powers too. Plus, you most likely will have to locate the legend as well.

Victini
Pendant: V-shaped and made of orange metal, with a ruby.

Tao’s Notes: Victini is the spirit of victory, but it does not seek glory for itself. Instead, it encourages others and celebrates their accomplishments. As long as you do not put yourself ahead of others, you should get along well with Victini. Once you put the pendant on, Victini will find you.

GM Notes: Victini is the ultimate cheerleader. It will seek someone who is social and enthusiastic, much like itself. Victini’s chosen will be able to learn some basic Fire and Psychic based attack spells, but much of your power will be in supporting and healing others. Also, you can cancel out the madness inducing powers of the other legendaries (especially Kyurem and Genesect) if you are near their chosen, but it will drain your energy to do so. The main danger in Victini’s power is sacrificing too much of yourself for the sake of others.

Cobalion
Pendant: A blue pearl in a heart-shaped steel pendant.

Tao’s Notes: You have been chosen by Cobalion, although it was one of the harder legendaries for me to convince to help. It is not as biased against humans as it once was, but it does want to test your courage in Mistralton Cave. Once you pass its test, it should travel with you, but I feel as though it will be strict and critical of you. It lives the life of a warrior, so it will help mold you into one.

GM Notes: Cobalion seeks a calm but focused person, someone who does well under pressure. It will be something like a drill sergeant to you, but if you don’t temper its anti-human tendencies, it may turn you into a super-strict knight against your own kind. Once you pass Cobalion’s initial test, you will be given steel armor and a steel sword, plus an innate knowledge of using both (you still have to practice to get good at it). Your defenses will be boosted.

Terrakion
Pendant: a silvery pearl in a heart-shaped stone pendant

Tao’s Notes: You have been chosen by Terrakion, even though it was reluctant to agree to this. It is pretty stubborn, but does not seem to be actively against humans at this time. In order to receive its blessing, you must pass its test in Relic Castle. It will travel with you then, but I don’t think it’s the last test you’ll be face with from Terrakion. But it will be able to turn you into a warrior much like itself.

GM Notes: Terrakion seeks a loyal person, someone who would defend the weak. It too has anti-human tendencies and could turn you against humankind unless you can prove the worth of humans to Terrakion. Once you pass the initial test, you will be given rock-like armor and a large two handed sword, plus an innate knowledge of using both (though practice is required to get it right). Your attack power will be boosted.

Virizion
Pendant: a dark green pearl in a heart-shaped bamboo pendant

Tao’s Notes: You have been chosen by Virizion, although it was suspicious of my request at first. It used to be against humans, but seems quite friendly now. In order to receive its blessing, you must find it within the lost pathways of Pinwheel Forest, then pass its test. It will then travel with you, but I’m sure it will be constantly finding challenges for you in order to turn you into a fine warrior.

GM Notes: Virizion seeks a passionate person, someone who would do anything for a friend. Unlike the previous two, Virizion isn’t against humans, but it can still warp you into a corrupt fighter who will fight at any provocation, or one who will only protect your friends and let everyone else suffer. Once you pass the initial test, you will be given leather armor and a rapier, plus an innate knowledge of using both (again, still needs practice to master). Your speed will be boosted.

Tornadus
Pendant: It’s a ‘birdcage’ sphere made up of many thin wires, with a marbled green stone floating inside.

Tao’s Notes: Tornadus is a somewhat troublesome spirit. When it awakens, it rushes all over the region, with violent wind gusts in its wake. Most of the time, we give it offerings to appease it and set it back to rest. You will need to awaken it at the hidden Wind Shrine west of Undella Town, then chase it down to prove your worth. It may be defiant to taking orders from you, so make sure to earn its respect too.

GM Notes: Tornadus seeks an energetic person. It will try to encourage your recklessness and carelessness, but because you will be granted control over the wind, that could cause a lot of damage. If you are in the presence of Thundurus’ or Kyurem’s chosen, this power will be increased. You also have the ability to fly along in a great gust of wind; the speed is very high, it works best when used with the direction of the wind, and it is difficult to control.

Thundurus
Pendant: It’s a jagged metal pendant, shaped like a lightning bolt, with a marbled yellow stone on it.

Tao’s Notes: Thundurus is a somewhat troublesome spirit. It awakens periodically, causing wild electric storms. Since most people try to keep it at rest, you’ll have to find a way to the hidden Thunder Shrine east of Mistralton City, awaken Thundurus, and then chase it down to prove your worth. Preferably, this should be done quickly, to limit the damage it can cause. It will likely be mischievous, so earn its loyalty to keep it in line.

GM Notes: Thundurus seeks a playful person. Like Tornadus, it will tempt you to just have fun and not care about what’s going on, turning you into a chaotic person of mass destruction. Once you catch up to it, you will gain control over lightning. Not electric powers; you’ll be calling down great bolts of lightning from the sky, although it takes a great deal of energy to do so. If you are in the presence of Tornadus’ or Kyurem’s chosen, your stamina at doing this will be much better. You have an ability to hover-fly, then zip off like a bolt of lightning; it must be in a straight line, it will have sudden stops, and it has only one speed: lightning fast.

Reshiram
Pendant: Known as the White King's Stone, it is a white stone on a necklace. It is formed like half of a yin-yang, and would make a sphere if combined with the Black King's Stone.

Tao’s Notes: Reshiram embraces the truth and those who pursue it. It will seek to expose lies and find out the truth in any matter. As Reshiram always chooses to stand by a hero, you should have no difficulty with it. You will also be tied to the chosen of Zekrom; whether you get along with this person or not will affect the powers you receive. In order to receive Reshiram’s full blessing, you shall have to find it first. Reshiram was last known to be with its previous chosen hero, the last person to effectively challenge Ghetsis. Team Plasma has tried to destroy all evidence that this person exists, though.

GM Notes: Hilbert was Reshiram's previous chosen (contrary to version 1). Reshiram will seek out someone who is driven and determined to find the truth of things. This person doesn’t have to be perfectly honest, but telling a lie should be guilt-inducing (not telling the whole truth is an option, though). See the GM Notes on Zekrom about your character’s relationship with Zekrom’s chosen. Reshiram’s magic will be that of fire and dragons, though.

Zekrom
Pendant: Known as the Black King's Stone, it is a black stone on a necklace. It is formed like half of a yin-yang, and would make a sphere if combined with the White King's Stone.

Tao’s Notes: Zekrom embraces ideals and those who pursue them. It will seek to change a flawed world by molding it into what it should be. As Zekrom always chooses to stand by a hero, you should not have much difficulty with it. You will also be tied to the chosen of Reshiram; whether you get along with this person or not will affect the powers you receive. In order to receive Zekrom’s full blessing, you shall have to find it first. Zekrom was last known to be with its previous chosen hero, N of Team Plasma.

GM Notes: Zekrom will seek out someone who is driven and idealistic. The person can be flawed, but s/he must desire to fulfill some ideal in the world and in his/her own life. As Tao notes, the relationship between this person and Reshiram’s chosen will determine both character’s powers. If you don’t get along, Zekrom’s power will be that of destruction, high offensive electric and dragon magic that will cause a lot of collateral damage. If you do get along, Zekrom’s power will be that of creation, weaker offensive spells but with the potential to combo with Reshiram’s powers. Destructive powers will cause a lot of damage in any action the character takes. Creation powers will repair things, heal others, and cause spontaneous generation of simple life forms.

Landorus
Pendant: It’s a diamond shaped rock pendant with a marbled tan stone in the center.

Tao’s Notes: Landorus is a gentle and kind spirit, one who admires hard work. The legends say that it does not care much for battle and would rather help keep the lands bountiful. However, it is said to be fearsome when it does defend the land of Unova. You will need to awaken it at the Abundant Shrine southwest of Undella Town, where it will probably test you to make sure that you are worthy of its power.

GM Notes: Landorus seeks a responsible person. Due to its agreeable nature, it will be overprotective in keeping you from harm; you’ll have to convince it to let you take risks in order to get things done. It is very patient, but also very slow in getting things done. When you receive its blessings, you will gain control over dirt (don’t make a face; be creative). And you will be able to fly: you will be much slower than the chosen of Thundurus or Tornadus, But you can move freely and control it better.

Kyurem
Pendant: A cord holding a stone circle that is half white and half black, with an empty interior.

Tao’s Notes: I regret to inform you that you have been chosen by a dangerous Pokémon, Kyurem. It is known to lure people into its lair, from which they never return. While it does not have the same sense of right or wrong as humans have, this can be used to your advantage. Kyurem recognizes those with power and will loyally serve a person who defeats it in battle. It will grant you immense power as well. Be careful; if you challenge it and fail, then you will possibly die. It can be found in the Giant Chasm, north of Lacunosa Town.

GM Notes: There is no particular kind of person this legend seeks. Kyurem is a mixture of a neutral force and a primal force. It is a predator who respects power, and has no qualms about killing for food (or eating anything that moves). This includes you, unless you prove yourself worthy of being its master. And the moment you accept the pendant, Kyurem will start sending telepathic thoughts to you encouraging you to think like a predator, no matter who gets hurt. It will do this to some extent after you defeat it too. In exchange, you have complete control over ice and snow once you defeat Kyurem, no matter what the weather is, as well as knowing some Dragon spells. You also understand Kyurem right from the start… but it’s not very helpful as it wants to eat you.

Keldeo
Pendant: A red pearl in a heart-shaped blue stone pendant.

Tao’s Notes: You have been chosen by Keldeo, who is known for being a showy fighter. It should get along with you fine, but it has very high standards and will push you to meet them. In order to receive its blessing, you must pass its test near the Village Bridge. It will travel with you then and teach you to be a hero.

GM Notes: Keldeo seeks someone with a strong sense of justice, who is willing to do good things for little to no reward. It has paladin tendencies, with the desire to do the right thing no matter what the consequences, personal or otherwise, which will likely transfer over to you. When you pass the initial test, you will be given armor like Team Plasma’s but in Keldeo’s colors, as well as a blue-colored sword and the innate knowledge (though not experience) to use both. You won’t have enhanced ‘stats’ like the other three, but you will be able to run across the water’s surface, weak surfaces (like leaves that shouldn’t be able to hold your weight), and even up walls to some extent. Just don’t stop or you will fall.

Meloetta
Pendant: A black musical sign with a sapphire.

Tao’s Notes: Meloetta is well-known as a muse for musicians and dancers. It is accustomed to people, so you should have few problems getting along with it. When you put the pendant on, Meloetta should find you. However, it is mute at this time. You will not be able to use any of its powers until you figure out how to get its voice back. That knowledge seems elusive.

GM Notes: Meloetta will seek out someone devoted to music, a person who has practiced for a long time to earn their ability. At the start, Meloetta will be voiceless and unable to shift to its Pirouette form. Finding the Relic Song should be a good length quest in its own right, so you won’t start out knowing it and there won’t be many clues to direct you to the answer. Once Meloetta gets Relic Song, you will have the ability to control the feelings of others through music. If you’re cunning, they won’t even notice. But if you try to make someone do something they normally wouldn’t in this manner, they will know that you manipulated them and people don’t like that. You will also be able to pick up on new songs and instruments much faster and better than before.

Genesect
Pendant: A small fossil in shale surrounded by a rim of glowing LED lights. The color of the lights depends on which type is being used for Genesect’s cannon.

Tao’s Notes: I must admit that I know almost nothing about the Pokémon that has chosen you. This pendant appeared with the others and it seems to be connected to something called Genesect. There are no myths or stories that I know of that mention it. There seems to be a strong potential for power here, but also a strong potential for corruption. Be very careful if you chose to accept a link to Genesect.

GM Notes: Okay, go read Kyurem’s entry, then turn it up to eleven. Genesect is a primal force, living off pure predatory instinct. When you accept the pendant, your mind will connect to Genesect’s so you will constantly have its thoughts alongside your own. And it cannot be understood by anything in the modern day, not even other Pokémon, so you won’t fully comprehend those thoughts at first. It is quite hostile, especially towards things it does not understand. You can defeat it and earn its total loyalty, much like Kyurem. Once you do, you will be able to copy any of its natural attacks, including all forms of Techno Blast. Oh, but there is another obstacle: Genesect is currently owned, in a Pokeball, by Ghetsis. You will have to infiltrate Plasma Castle, avoid the Shadow Trio, steal Genesect from Ghetsis, release it, and then battle it in order to obtain its blessing. Good luck with that.

Deoxys
Pendant: Star-shaped with a fragment of a meteorite on it (this fragment will not trigger Deoxys’ forme changes).

Tao’s Notes: I have heard stories that Deoxys is a Pokémon formed from a space virus. On encountering it, it seems benevolent, but its alien nature may take getting used to. In order to receive its blessing, you need to find it in Nacrene City and pass the test it presents to you. Team Plasma has a strong presence there, so be careful in doing so.

GM Notes: Deoxys seeks a quiet person. It wants to be friends with you, but does not consider things like how humans and other Pokémon need to eat and sleep, or that humans can’t survive underwater without assistance. If it gets upset or is frightened, it won’t work with you until you calm it down, or apologize (and it is a timid creature). When you receive its blessing, you will be granted a strange armor and whip that matches Deoxys. The whip can be infused with Psychic energy and the armor grants a boost in defense against special attacks and whichever 'stat' is favored in its various forms.

Latios
Pendant: A blue and white wing with an emerald.

Tao’s Notes: You have been chosen by Latios, which was surprising to me as he is not known to be in our region very often. Something troubles me when I hold the pendant, although I am not sure why. I can tell that he is at an island west of Nuvema Town, so be careful with Team Plasma’s border patrols when you seek him out. When you accept the pendant, you will also become linked to the chosen of Latias; the two of you should probably travel together.

GM Notes: Latios itself must be a male, because, well, it must be a male. Latios seeks a person who has led a rough life but is stoic about it, and is over the age of 21. You will receive his blessings once you speak with him in person. However, in order to keep that blessing, you must protect the chosen of Latias, no matter what. In exchange, you will be able to use any natural power of Latios. Plus Draco Meteor, but that is an advanced skill you won’t be able to use immediately.

Latias
Pendant: Identical to Latios’, except pink and white.

Tao's Notes: You have been chosen by Latias, who isn't around Unova often but seems to have some reason for being here. I think there's some problem besides Plasma that keeps her here, so you may need to assist her. She seems to be somewhere in the bay west of Nuvema and south of Nacrene. When you accept this pendant, you will become linked to the chosen of Latios, so you should probably find that person and help them out.

GM Notes: Latias itself must be female. She seeks a caring person with the heart of a child, so her partner is allowed to ignore the minimum age of 15. You will receive her blessing once you speak to her in person, but in order to keep it, you must assist the chosen of Latios. In exchange, you will be able to use any natural power of Latias, (plus Draco Meteor at a much later point).

Secrets of the Gijinkas

Gijinkas are known to occur naturally, but with extreme rarity. According to popular belief, one appears when the soul of a Pokemon is reborn as a human. Sometimes they are no different aside from looking a little odd. Sometimes they hold strong powers and a mind much too close to that of Pokemon. Reactions to gijinkas vary widely from place to place. Within Unova, gijinkas are seen as a lucky occurrence, usually accepted within the community. There are even a few cultural ceremonies that call for a gijinka to participate, although these are rarely practiced in recent decades.

Before Plasma started operating in the open, a portion of the group was kept secret within the secret organization. This group had figured out how to inject Pokemon genes into very young children and infants so that their DNA got changed permanently into mimicking a natural gijinka. Their reasons and plans for this are currently unknown outside the group.

What the rebel group knows is that the Shadow Triad is either one gijinka or three, and that other gijinkas were considered 'unnecessary at this time' as of twelve years ago. The decision was made to seal the gijinkas and put them back into normal society, either as children to adopt or young people given a bit of assistance before living on their own. Plasma did not want these people to know what had happened to them, so they attempted to erase the memories of all the gijinkas. Most do not remember what happened to them before that point.

If you are one of these characters, you will have received a letter from the rebel group (either Brycen or one of the Elite 4 members) informing you of this discovery. The letter will include the group's offer to unseal your powers if you agree to work with them; Tao is the one who can do this. Of course, Plasma may also know a way to unseal your powers, but they will certainly want total control over you should you reveal yourself to them.

As a gijinka, you are able to do some things that are exclusive to Pokemon, such as producing fire from nothing or enhancing your own strength. These abilities are instinctive, so while they may not be as strong as the powers of the pendant holders, it will take less time to learn them. Practice will still be necessary for a lot of them. Also, as GM I reserve the right to deny any particular power that I think will be too powerful. You should also consider that at the time of unsealing, you will be similar to a low-level Pokemon and won't know the best moves right off.

You are also an artificial gijinka, which means that you are not related to a specific Pokemon. You do have a specific type, and it is possible that the scientists tried to make you like a particular Pokemon. Also, the people who were experimented on have DNA that is mostly human. Your appearance will be that of a human, although there may be some minor signs like hair and eye color. This may also mean that your powers do not function as well as they would in a Pokemon. For instance, an Electric gijinka may suffer from seizures due to unchecked electrical buildup within their body. These disadvantages will not be as prominent in a sealed state, but once you are unsealed, they will appear.

I'm in the process of reviewing the League information again (nobody used it last time), as well as other things. I will add more information to this post or the previous one, or shuffle things around, depending on what is needed at the moment.

I'm gonna wait to see what the the other two Divine partners in Straiton, (Brianna and Skye) do before continuing with Leo. Since they live in the same town, they'll most likely travel together/see each other on the way.

Shandy will just be in Iccurus the next time I post with her. She's not exactly dressed appropriately/prepared for getting through Twist Mountain, so she probably won't be a happy camper by the time she gets out. xD

You can meet Blitz, then get on the train. =P The Pendant allows the Pokemon to go far away from you, and still return.

I'm still undecided if Leo will actually walk all that way, or take a train. He wants to be a Pokemon Ranger, so he'd figure he should get used to travelling harsh environments. On the other hand, the train is faster.

Well, aggie's guy taking a train makes sense because he lives in Nimbasa City. But... us... maybe not...?

Meh, I guess it'll look slightly suspicious. Besides, she doesn't have much money, if at all - her family's poor, so I think she'd feel bad for stealing a bit of money... or stealing in general, really. After all, she is Reshiram's chosen.

Violet also took a plane and a train... You can take it when you get to Nimbassa.

Oh right, money, I forgot about that...

Leo does not have much cash on him (Though his mother gave him a credit card for emergencies, but... there are problems that come with using a credit card, which is why it's for emergencies.) and he does not get paid for assisting Fennel. (Because, she doesn't get paid either.) Team Plasma doesn't understand the benefits of her research on Dream Mist.

I'm going to have to figure out a way for him to make an income...

Well, seems we'll end up with two player characters with a Zebstrika then! Okay, I've downgraded Alana's into a Blizle for more "realism" but... close enough? I don't mind though, might put a rivality between the two pokemon, hahaha.

On a side note into the current subject, Alana's has a good amount of money thanks to the money she put aside; not because she's savvy, but because she's the kind of gal to live only with the strict necessities (although she can complain sometimes), so she doesn't spend a lot. Not to mention, her vacation she took are paid ones, so there's money still coming in for her to use.

And in other news, I honestly don't know when exactly I'll post since I'm juggling with work and other RPGs 'n stuff, but I'll likely post by the end of this week.

So I figure that sence Sid is a successful DJ and has rich adoptive parents he pretty much has all the money he could want. In other words, he can take any form of travel. Also, I'd like to add that unlike most of the Gijinkas, who actually live with their real parents, or they have adoptive parents that either work for Plasma or at least know that their child is a Gijinka, Plasma basically completely abandoned Sid and put him up for adoption so his parents have no idea about Sid's past.

Really I'm seeing Sid just following around a Divine or something and helping them. Like someone would go "I need to go to [Insert Town name here], but to take the [Insert method of transportation here] to [Insert Town name here] I need [Insert amount of money here] dollars." And Sid would come up and be like "So I heard you need money..." then they'd go on an adventure. There might be a few loose ends he needs to tie when he gets his memory back, but nothing too major. I guess that's the beauty of the Gijinkas, they can do whatever the heck they want.

For those of you with Twist Mountain in the way, there is now a dirt path that goes around it (south and east of it). It's not used much, but it is there. Tao and Alder mentioned it in my last post as being difficult, but that's getting a handicapped person through there. An able-bodied person would find it a moderately tough hike, but easier than finding the way through Twist Mountain (and less Pokemon save for grassy parts).

After watching things, I realized that there does need to be a group meeting for the characters right at the start. Due to one character mentioning 4 in the afternoon, the meeting will be set in the evening of when most of you arrive.

Whoa, just noticed that this won't work very well with me, or should I way with Alana... Yes, I did mention for Kory that her meeting is at 4 p.m. behind the old pokémon gym, but I also mentioned that Alana's meeting was in the morning (well afternoon, since whoever was supposed to arrive is late) at the broken bridge in front of the clinic (which by the way, for those who didn't notice, the clinic is actually the old pokémon center). I can always plan for Kory to arrive at her meeting point earlier and discover another letter somewhere saying it got moved to the broken bridge, while Alana have just misread her own letter... but I dunno about you guys, but it's kind of a stretch.

Myeah, you're right. I just thought it would be nice, like Ysa said, to make the meeting at the same time for everyone (or at least they all meet up at some point), but I guess it'll be not yet...

...And it seems I'll be ending up controlling the Gym Leaders for the meeting, or at least introduce them... I'm thinking of using Brycen to meet up with Kory, which would bring her a funny reaction (at least within her mind) with his attire similar to hers, plus he's well-fitted to met up with her since she's an ice type (and he's an ice gym leader) and he's one of those who discovered the whole Gijinka experiment. As for Alana, Sid, Margret and Theo... I'm torn between Elesa and Burgh, and even then I'm not sure... Any suggestions?

I've been sick and headachy and I don't want to think... eh, I'll make myself. Sophie, I'll get back to you on that PM later.

I was thinking of having that meeting mostly so information doesn't have to get repeated, but if a few are late, then they'll get information from someone else. And if your character does arrive on a day later than everyone else, your character could meet with someone else.

I don't think Brycen would be in Iccirus at the moment, if there are Plasma patrols around (they seem to be at a moderate level based on what I've seen in your posts). He's too recognizable for the area. the others are probably dressed to not stand out, but they know who they're looking for in most cases. And Mon, if you mentioned Shauntal specifically in your SU, I can add her to being in the area, just not having been mentioned in most of the letters.

Just make sure not everybody is meeting the same person (I was going to say avoid Caitlen since she has to clear Ian Blackwood's intentions, but several people have already encountered her; we'll say he meets with her at a later point in the day).

I remember there being a question about someone being close to Celestial Tower although I can't remember who... if anyone happens to be near the tower on that morning to hear it ring, it will ring three times in total (during Tao's call, and twice more in my next post). If you happen to investigate, you'll probably find Alder and two Plasma grunts holding a Pokemon battle at the bottom of the tower.

If my head clears up for long enough today, I'll get a post up for this.

Edit: Also, apparently I didn't realize how old Alder is...

So Grimsley it is for Kory. It won't be as much fun as if it was Caitleen, but either way Kory won't be happy, haha.

@Billy: Ah thanks for the info. I knew that Sid have a permit, I was just not sure if Luke was there with him or not, so I could put in Alana's confusion with Luke's presence then small jealousy towards Sid having a permit (or at least that's what she guess with Plasma ignoring them).

Leo will not arrive there within the day. It would be impossible for him to get from Straiton to Iccurus on foot in that short amount of time. So him meeting Caitlin shouldn't conflict with her meeting Ian. (I won't actually show all that travel, it'll just be casually mentioned.)

Thank you. And that's why I didn't have Shauntal sign her name in the letter like I was originally going to do...

For Leo, I imagine it was noon when he got his letter. He's not going to arrive in Iccurus untill early afternoon the following day.

Sid, Alana, Violet, and Theo are also at noon. Alana's been waiting there since morning.

Shandy heard the bell ring, so it's early in the morning for her. Depending on how long it takes to get there, she may have seen Alana waiting on the bridge before the others got there. (In the past! xD) Which means she's already in Iccurus by Alana's present time, and may already have spoken to Shauntal by the evening.

And Ian and Katsa are in the evening.

Well as far as I can tell, you can do any of those things! All depends how you think Ian is and what he would do in that situation. If he's confident enough to be a spy, go for it, if not, probably the best not to, role-playing wise.

Er, FM, I have nothing against your last post in general, but there's a few things that bothers me... You see, in the SU thread, it mentioned that:
For all... you cannot understand Pokémon speech. You can grow to understand a Pokémon’s body language and sounds, but it will never be on the level N had. Figuring out what a wild Pokémon wants or needs will be a big part in befriending them. Gijinkas can understand Pokemon better, although specifics and nuances will be lost. While you were ok in your first post between Blitz and Skye (you said he acted like if he was saying that), in your latest post, it was really like if your Skye fully understood what he have said. So I would consider that going against the rules... but I'm only mentioning the possibility, not that you actually did (I don't know how far Ysa can stretch it). The other thing, Skye identified some people as "human/Pokemon cross-thingys", although personally I don't think it's possible to identify them as such as they look human (although a bit odd), and I don't think any of the messages for the chosens mentioned anything related to Gijinkas. But all that is on the suggestive side, and it *may* be possible that a few Chosen letters talked about the Gijinkas, so I might be wrong.

Azran Flame
23rd June 2012, 10:56 PM
^ Well, if you hadn't noticed, I only put the human speech in parentheses, so Skye didn't understand the full context of what Blitz was saying, but got the gist of it seeing her expressions and tone of voice (besides, she'd been together with her for two years prior, even though she was a Blitzle then). So yeah. And you can't blame Skye for thinking that Gijinkas are freaks. She's never seen one before, let alone heard of one.

And stop trying to cover up stuff. God.

Billy Mays
23rd June 2012, 11:02 PM
Her point is that Gijinkas aren't enough like Pokemon for you to actually be able to tell they are Gijinkas. At most they have wierd hair and eye colors, but the Pokemon world has tons of people with wierd hair and eye colors, and they make hair dyes and contacts to change your color. So a Gijinka could come off as odd, but you'd have no indication that they are actually Gjinkas.

Well I'm feeling better, but my family insisted on dragging me out of the house today, lol. Crossing my fingers that I can get a post up, to have Caitlen talk to that group and get things back in place.

On gijinkas, they can't be identified on sight (at least not normal human sight; aura sight can pick them out to some extent). They weren't made to be obvious hybrids, but just enough to have powers. It was some seriously skilled genetic engineering (thanks to a creepy guy that may or may not show... depends on where you guys look).

There was something else... oh right, Okiku, if your character met with Grimsley around four PM, then Tao will be back at the rebel headquarters. He was only at the Tower for the morning. Whether Alder will be back or not, I'm still deciding (rolling dice) on.

Whoopie, I did not know that! Oh well, I'll edit it. But what should Grimsley ask to Kory to do instead? I mean, he can't just leave like that without telling her to do something! My big guess is to join him to the base, but ya might be thinking of something else.

Well, it looks like I'm a little bit tardy to the party, heh ^^;;

Sorry 'bout taking this long to get around to posting and still not actually posting yet orz

The reason is 'cause I'm planning on making a couple slight stops on my way there to build up my roster, and wanted to try to get a plan for it before I started. Hopefully I can finish typing it tomorrow (technically later today given how late it is xP;;), or at the very least post what I have up to that point.

Posted. I, um, wasn't really sure what Stin was supposed to know as an already established member of the Rebels, but I assumed she had heard at least mentions of the Gijinka. If not, I can go and edit that out, no problem. Oh and, I know she said she could tell apart most of the Chosen/Gijinkas, but that was just pretty much her being arrogant. She didn't catch nearly everyone, mostly just the ones who banded together and even that was only because she knew what to look for. I bet she also mistook quite a few ordinary citizens as either Chosen or Gijinka if they, to her, acted "suspicious". So yeah, just wanna point out she isn't quite as sharp as she'd like to believe |D

I should get a post up soon. For Leo anyway, Shandy's mostly just going to remain quiet until it's time to go. That's why I rarely use her in RPG's without a more outgoing character. Unless someone speaks to her, (Or she actually has a reason to speak,) she won't do a damn thing.

She never got her chance to cause trouble in the last one, so I figured I'd make it up this time~ (Though seriously, I didn't even plan that, it just kind of happened when I wrote down her thoughts |D)

And damn it, you need another chance for that guard harassment scene to happen at some point!

@Billy: Yeah, completely fine that she was mistaken for a guy, in fact I'm glad you took that snippet of info into account. And heh, Sid just got himself a place in Stin's "people I do not like" -list. It's... a long list and not a comfortable place to be in~

And Theo's from Striaton? Whoops, I guess Alana should have recognized him too, being the oldest (I think) "Chosen Striatonian", one that moved around the surrounding routes and the Dreamyard at that. Oh well, let's say she didn't recognize him for some reason!

Trying to figure when to have the meeting post, since some of you are in the early afternoon and some are in the evening. But I hope to get to that soon, to let everyone go on their training/Pokemon search.

I would like for one or two gijinka characters to volunteer as the first ones to be unsealed, knowing that this has not been done yet and it might go wrong (most likely not, but it would be harder as the first). You'll need to have your character arrive at camp and have a reason to meet up with Tao, who is in one of the tents studying. Also, when I do the unsealing, I will be checking your particular character sheet and sending you Tao's dialogue before I make that post. I think that will be more efficient than doing a bunch of small posts while others wait.

Well since Margret was at the bridge and she's already at the camp and meeting with Tao, I suggest we all do the same. Actually I would think that Kory would see Tao after the group, since her meeting was at 4pm (it's also why I'm waiting a bit in case *something* happens during the meeting before she gets there). What I can always do to speed things up is to make Alana be bored at looking at the two fighting and just go make a run for the base X)

Ysavvryl
3rd July 2012, 4:27 PM
Yeah, the bridge group might want to move ahead to the base, unless there is some conversation to finish up. Also, once you're at the base, remember that your character can meet with most of the League members for questions or just talk. Alder's still away, and the three in Iccirrus would still be there for that day. Or you can continue to make connections with the PC group; that was one thing that bugged me about the other game, was that there weren't a lot of PCs that interacted with each other, so there wasn't a feeling of belonging to the same group.

Today, I mean to get Sid's unsealing post up, as well as send out the dialogue pieces to other gijinkas who would be there in the afternoon.

And something I thought of while writing things today.

The cabin in the middle of camp, when you get inside, is a dining hall, apparently having served the miners at one point. There's a large kitchen in back where various people help out the main cook serve the people staying at and using the base. At the entrance, there's a mud room to put up coats and gear, leading into a large dining room with a stone fireplace to one side. There are a number of tables and chairs, and the place doubles as a meeting room if they're not using one of the larger tents instead. On the side with the fireplace, there is a pair of bathroom and shower areas (the stalls are all separate) for those not used to camping out. On the other side, there's two more rooms. One is a small library with some computers that you'll be able to use. The second is a recovery area in case someone is hurt or sick. A pair of Pokemon nurses and one doctor are with the group currently, and they can handle any Pokemon. A second doctor specializes with humans.

The doctors, nurses, and cook are undefined NPCs at the moment, so it's basically whoever uses them first sets name, appearance, and so on, although I may adapt if something strikes me.

@Mon: Yes, I'll get the PM to you in a minute or two (depending on lag, *chuckles*).

@Mon: Hehe, I'd have no trouble with that otherwise, but waiting for Shandy to get unsealed would mess up the timeline pretty bad... again |D See, from my understanding Sid was supposed to confront Stin after he got unsealed, which happens before Shandy gets unsealed, and what's happening now sort of happens while Sid's still in the tent and Shandy waiting for her turn, most likely. But uh, Stin could do it while Shandy's still unsealed, leaving the latter plotting revenge later on...?

I was planning on having the Will-O-Wisp hit in order to power up Facade, but then I figured that nah, Stin wouldn't stop to think that getting hit could ever be useful. So yeah.

EDIT: Hey, uh, Matt. Just a question here, but wasn't it proven in the anime that Ditto couldn't transform into a Pokémon it sees in a picture? It'd just transform into, well... a picture (unless that's been disproved in newer episodes, I admit to not being up to date with the Anime at all.) I mean, otherwise you could stick a picture of any Pokémon in its face and always have the advantage.

Monster Guy

Will-o-Wisp is known for being inaccurate anyway. ^^

Facade wouldn't have worked anyway, Litwick is a Ghost. :P (Of course, you could still hit Ralts...)

Note: I haven't actually read the posts yet...

EDIT: Now I have!

I love how everyone is now bolding their attacks after I did it. xD

Stin is right, Celeste hasn't battled that much, neither has Shandy for that matter. Yet somehow, Celeste knows Will-O-Wisp. xD (I don't go by levels in RPG settings...)

Haha, I love how so much is happening around Stin right now! She'd be very pleased to see she's caused a ruckus like this.

@Mon: I recall seeing attack bolding done elsewhere too (though I think it was by you back then as well), and figured I'd follow suit since it seemed like an easy way to distinguish attacks from normal text.

@Billy: I'll go along with what we planned and have Stin dodge that first punch then. Then you can go ahead with the bulletin' and earn yourself that kick in the face, heh. Just a note though, Sigi's just a Tranquill, not an Unfezant.

@Ysa: Haha, yeah, I see them as not getting along as well (I think Stin mentioned that in one of my posts as the reason she tried to steer clear from his vision), because Clay's very serious, and, well, ground types. She hates 'em ground types. I imagine she would have been yelled at by him on more than one occasion in the past. Maybe he can come over and yell later? 8P

@Zalck: Well now that it's not late, I did have something to say about that post. About Nathanial having a paper that had directions to the secret Plasma prison. That was one of the later plot points for this game, trying to find that prison and get in to break some prisoners out. Of course, that caused some trouble as I only had a couple of players who decided to pursue that and one of them dropped out. So I've been debating on whether to have you remove that or not. I think, as long as it's just directions and not a layout of the prison, it would be okay to keep that bit of information.

@matt: Just letting you know that I snatched Ema and she's now playing Ring Around The Rosie with Celeste in the entrance to Tao's tent.

A scene with a lot of players is confusing, but hopefully we can pass through this section soon. I may post the meeting next and have the unsealing for other gijinkas come in the evening, unless someone in particular wants to have that done in the afternoon.

I'll probably leave Shandy there, reading her files until the meeting starts. I'm not sure if I want to show off Shadow Tag just yet. :P Even though Stin would be the perfect victim. She'd be forced to stand there, doing nothing BUT BEING BORED! xD

And yet again I have a lack of posts, something which I am working on, though that is currently being stalled in lieu of something I'm working on that will hopefully be done or close enough to being done by tomorrow if not later tonight.

Speaking of, I'm assuming it isn't to late to create a gijinka to use, right?

Zalck
10th July 2012, 6:29 AM
@Zalck: Well now that it's not late, I did have something to say about that post. About Nathanial having a paper that had directions to the secret Plasma prison. That was one of the later plot points for this game, trying to find that prison and get in to break some prisoners out. Of course, that caused some trouble as I only had a couple of players who decided to pursue that and one of them dropped out. So I've been debating on whether to have you remove that or not. I think, as long as it's just directions and not a layout of the prison, it would be okay to keep that bit of information.

I remember some bits about the prison from the last game; I wasn't sure if we were including it or not. I think Nathan's Dad and some others (whoever, plot-wise) might be cooped up in there. It basically says 'I remember going through here and seeing this so I assume we are kept over here.' So: directions but it would still have to be an adventure to find the prison.

So the map with the secret plasma trail is cool? I kinda added that just to make it a little bit easier for me. ;) You know, sneak in, steal Genesect, sneak out. That's kinda a ways away, but every little bit helps! ^^

I also have three Pokeballs... Not sure why or what I'm going to do with them. Would be cool if (maybe in an ending/epilogue?) someone caught the three starters and handed them out to three kids from Nuvema Town or Aspertia City. Just a random idea that popped into my head!

Also.. (Not that this really effects me) did you decide to use any Black/White Kyureum forms? Or the Tornadus/Thundorus/Landorus forms? Not that it really would affect me either way.

I believe the only Gijinkas left to be unsealed are Ian, Kory (Both are in the future. xD) and Nick. (Who hasn't gotten there yet...)

On another note, I think Ema and Celeste will get along fabulously. :P

I'll probably leave Shandy there, reading her files until the meeting starts. I'm not sure if I want to show off Shadow Tag just yet. :P Even though Stin would be the perfect victim. She'd be forced to stand there, doing nothing BUT BEING BORED! xD

Leo will get there before the meeting starts. And Vic Tini will get there...whenever. xD

Yup indeed, Kory's in the future, so I have to wait a bit. Unless you consider "4 pm" as "afternoon", I can be safe for (finally!) post related to her.

But first, I got posts of other RP(s?) to attend to x_x

Still waiting for Billy to have Sid deliver that Bullet Punch just when Stin thought she had dodged the attack. And yeah, I hope I didn't scare anyone away with a post with so much happening in it, but that was the only way to respond to everything going on so that it made sense timeline-wise. *shrug*

I think everybody's busy right now. Least it seems so from the games I'm in.

I wanted the information out on the alternate formes, but for that information to be in English so that there weren't random Japanese-used names that'd have to be changed later. So Keldeo's Resolute forme could be used now.

Monster Guy
14th July 2012, 5:03 PM
Not that it matters much. Resolute form is only a graphical change. It's stats and typing are the same, and the only difference is that it knows Secret Sword. (And if your using Keldeo, your using Secret Sword, because Keldeo's movepool is crappy.) Speaking of Keldeo, WBR hasn't been on in a while...

Margaret's been unsealed, and is now sick. Theo found her and then asked Skye to help take her back to her hotel room.

Sid got unsealed, and is currently in a fight with Stin

Shandy interacted with Stin (Not voluntarily of course), Natie showed up, and a battle ensued, but was interupted by Matt's Emolga. She got away and went into a tent where she got unsealed.

Leo met Alana on the way to the base, and had lunch. (For all intents and purposes, just assume he's at the base already...)

Much later than I wanted to be; my post could probably use some work, but I feel about ready to fall asleep at the computer...

Sophie, Alder is an NPC, so you may use him freely for dialogue, actions, or getting Nicholas to the base quicker. Alder can have his Pokemon fly the both of them to camp. Here, Fly works by manipulating space in such a way that the passenger(s) shrink down and ride on the Pokemon's back (or head, or wherever might work best), and then allows the Pokemon to fly faster than normal to a destination in the mind/memory of the Pokemon's Trainer. so, yeah, it's very much like what happens in the games, if not quite instantaneous.

Hey, Matt. You kind of autohit/bunnied both my and Billy's characters in your post. First you decided that Matt's punch hit and then that the Ditto thing was a success long enough for Matt to give a speech without even giving us the chance to do anything about it. Me and Billy had agreed to our little fight beforehand, hence we could say things already hit, but you hadn't spoken to either of us beforehand. Remember that Pokémon fight we had earlier? We didn't have attacks autohitting there, human fights shouldn't be any different. You can't just say "so and so joins the fight, does physical things while the others just sit there and take it and then leaves unharmed". It makes it feel like you wanted Matt to succeed in what he did without putting him in any sort of danger of something being done back to him and losing face. Fights don't work that way.

And heck, if you had just left your post with Matt punching Stin, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I still would've preferred it if you had let me decide whether it hit or not, but since I would have let it hit anyway as it made the most sense, I don't mind. But you really should have ended the post there, or at the very least with Ditto trying to trap them, not decide everything succeeded and nobody did anything while Matt talked and then left.

I know sometimes there's a lot you want done and you want to post it all, so there's no choice but to limit what the others can reply to. Hell, I had to cut off many chances for you guys to reply to what Stin said to them in my second latest post due to everyone coming to talk to her at once and me needing to catch up with what was happening, but physically attacking someone and not expecting a reaction goes a bit too far in my opinion.

Billy Mays
23rd July 2012, 9:53 AM
I agree with GH (impressive speech by the way :p )

You're also assuming things in your post, like that Sid got back up. I was planning on Sid getting knocked out and having a flashback from his past, then waking up later in a bed inside a tent. Now that you did that though I'll probably have Clay come in and get pissed at Matt and to a lesser extent Sid and Stin (not as much though because Sid is KOed and Stin was knocked down by Matt), and he'll also of course stop Luke from attacking Stin or Matt, since he's pretty protective of Sid.

Ysavvryl
23rd July 2012, 4:24 PM
@matt: I agree with them. I knew from them that the fight was going to turn out that way, but not that Matt would be involved. You can keep the talk with Ema and the initial attack on Stin, but it should have ended there. Or you could have had him start talking without attacking, but then kept him there instead of walking off. If the post doesn't get changed, then I'll have to tell the others to ignore that.

EDIT: Also, Accelgor X has informed me that s/he is dropping out, so Terrakion is open again.

It's bizarre to me that Divine has a TV Tropes page before ClicheStorm because they're related, but whatever. I'll have to remind myself how to work that; I tend to do some work on pages for a couple of days, then don't visit again for a couple of months.

anyhow... I skipped some things, but in interest of getting things really rolling, the meeting is now in progress. I've got pretty much anything I want to say for now there, unless someone comes up with an idea and I feel that it can be elaborated on. Those who have worked with me before know that while I've got a main plot figured out, I tend to throw a bunch of ideas for sub-plots and such at the wall and see what sticks. So feel free to do the same and I'll see about stringing it up with the rest. The supply run is simply a suggestion of something that could be done.

If you have a particular question you want to ask about the meeting, you can post it here and I'll give a general response for you to work into your post in the main thread. Or others might comment on it, about what could be done. If nothing else comes up about the meeting, then you can start on having your characters talk to the League members about specific questions. Iris is there mostly for the chosen of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem, but for questions on N and Hilbert, they'll be directed towards the Elite 4 and Alder, as they're the group that were the closest 'witnesses' to the last known whereabouts of those two.

Thinking about making a gjinka character, but not sure if I'm going to go through with it - after all, I was going to make one before, but never got down to it. (It's a Dark type btw, and also based off of a specific pokemon mostly.)

Oh, and I sort of decided Meloetta was going to be in Castelia. Why there? Well, that one place where the musicians restore Aria Song is in Castelia, and is in EXTREME proximity to Burgh's gym, Burgh being a noted artist. It follows that that section of town had something to do with her, and I'm gonna delve into why.

Ysavvryl
26th July 2012, 5:27 AM
I think anything with internet access would do, although the network would probably need some password or electronic key coding (whatever) to access. I was thinking in response to that, the Pokemon world must have strong wireless networks, because Pokemon you catch when you have a full team get sent electronically to your box from anywhere. And Plasma wouldn't have a reason to take out all of them, just most ways to connect with people outside the region. It'd be useful to them.

@matt: That would make sense (about Castelia). And there's one Dark type gijinka already, but another would be fine with me. And wasn't he going to ask Tao or Alder why he got the package mailed to him? (it was Alder's idea, by the way, and he saw it as a prank)

So he can get onto it through the Pokemon world's equivalent of a Cell Phone (Pokegear, X-Transciever, etc.) Or a 3DS (The player character has a Wii in his bedroom, so that wouldn't be out of the question.) Great! xD

Actually, he was, and he still is. He left more because he dislikes being around people, and because he wanted to get Meloetta as fast as possible, because if HE knows where it is, then Ghetsis may be able to figure it out easily too.

Also, the main reason I was holding back my gijinka was my lack of an incredibly lame pun name. But I have one now! Post construction underway.

EDIT: Wait, not underway, because I don't quite understand what you meant by this Ysa.

Random question. With Shandy being a Ghost Gijinka, does that mean if someone tries to slap her, it would go through her, and she'd be unharmed? (Assume the slap was treated as a Normal move.) But she'd get hurt more by Ghost and Dark Moves. (I could abuse that. xD)

And if someone tries to Poison Sid, he'd be immune (Since he's Steel), but he'd be weak to Fighting/Fire/Earthquakes? xD

Mon, you just gave me the idea of doing a scene like the one in the Princess Bride. You know, where the guy saving the princess and the bald guy (don't remember his name) both drink something, and both of them were poisoned, but Montoya was fine because he had built up an immunity to that said poison? Think of that except the bald guy is a plasma commander and Sid is the hero, and Sid survives the poison because he's a Steel type.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s0UURBihH8 (I found the scene I was talking about, here it is.)

And instead of having a pun based REAL name, I had Sid have a pun based stage name (you know, DJ ST33L).

I also thought I should mention that Sid will probably go on the supply run and meet his second Pokemon. I plan on having a mono-typed team, because I like the idea of it.

Huh, didn't think of those two! Well, four, you know what I mean... That's proof that I'm a bit of a firstgener (not saying I don't like the other gens, just have the first one more sunken in my mind than the others!)

Hmmm, a mushroom team? That could end up interesting... *checks Pokédex* Seems Route 11 will be the training ground for her, since two of them can be caught only there! And seems my first logical one to get will be Foongus, since they're right there "next" to the base in route 7...

and speaking of that route, there's Cubchoo in there that would be valuable in Kory's survival though... Without a Pokémon of her own type, she'll figuratively and literally die in the upcoming summer weather... do not want o.o

Well, with a Corsola, now I (kinda) have only one spot left in Kory's team already XD

Hmm, that's another thing... Kory being Kory, she'll have a hard time to actually befriend a Pokémon... depends of the circumstances and the Pokémon of course.

Hilarious ideas that I'll say in case it could inspire others for their befriending: have her and another pokémon (likely an ice-type) be more rivals than actual friends (in other words, the pokémon follows her just to show her ♪ "Everything you can do, I can do better!"♫), have an overly excited/attaching/innocent pokémon stick with Kory to her annoyance and dismay XD

Edit to answer FM: Basically everyone that are at the base moved into the big cabin and Tao gave a big speech to explain both sides of the teams, what they should do (training for the Gijinkas, get to meet the related legendaries for the chosens, get some food and supplies in general) and that Iris (present in the cabin) that can give info on the legendaries, and Brycen explained how the rebels "survived" through the Plasma takeover.

On hits on Shandy... funny as that might be, a slap would be considered an un-typed move, so that would hit her. As would a punch or other basic move from a regular human, unless she had the right amount of reaction time to go insubstantial. However, those basic moves aren't as powerful as a typed move. Sort of like with Mystery Dungeon and throwing sticks and rocks: you can get around type issues, but they don't do a lot of damage.

Sid would be immune to poisons, though. It'd take a specialized poison to poison him.

For gijinkas, my idea was that they'd have a Pokemon or two that stayed permanently with them, but they could convince wild Pokemon to help them temporarily. Maybe three if all three Pokemon had a reason to follow after him/her. I mean, it would be possible to befriend a whole bunch, but for the sake of efficiency, giving Pokemon equal attention, and avoiding using Pokemon as simple plot devices, smaller groups are better.

Oh, and on the meeting, note that it was Brycen who gave the entire speech. Tao only said one line. Part of his personality is that he gets self-conscious and nervous around crowds. I see Brycen as only speaking when necessary with as few words as needed. Since Alder wasn't there, he went ahead and gave that long speech to get everyone caught up on things.

Cool, so I got one person on that supply run. It might not be terribly interesting (unless we make it so), but it's the kind of thing that a large group would have to get done regularly.

Well I'm just going to assume that she's in the big cabin and just standing there. =p

So... is Skye supposed to be doing anything right now?

Yup, Margret fainted and Theo is asking her for help to get to the hotel.

Kay: real quick like questions while I'm thinking of a post:

Nathan will talk to Brycen (they are acquaintances), and ask about the legendaries, specifically about Genesect. How much will he know?
Then, Nathan will seek out Tao Haha! He won't care and will probably be rude since Tao is a bit more introspective. He is a NPC so I can control him a bit, right? Or would you rather me ask some questions and Tao have you respond for Tao? Nathan will ask about Genesect to him, get all the info he can. I was contemplating him having a Genesect episode while he was talking Tao? That way Tao might explain a bit what has been happening. I also think Nathan Will talk to Tao about how part of his conviction against team plasma is from seeing N and Hilda (it was Hilda in this storyline, right?) at the DragonSpiral Tower. Im sure Tao would love to hear Nathan talk about how he thought N was so sick and twisted. Also, who did N have in this storyline? Zeckrom, right?

Then, if he is unsatisfied with the answers (as he probably will be) he might seek out Alder. So I would need to know what Alder would know about Genesect.

And I remember us talking about this, but in my past, Nathan actually experienced Ghetis using Genesect when he attacked Iccirus. Should Nathan put this together, that the strange creature he saw is Genesect? Or should it be a mystery longer? If he realizes it was Genesect, could he ask some townsfolk if they remember about the attack?

Yeah, I'm asking a lot of questions. Probably should have been a PM. But my laptops broken s I'm using an iPad for the time being. so I can't just copy paste real easy.

One last question: seeing as Golurk is befriended to Nathan, would he still feel an implication to help Shandy? If so, that might create a dynamic between Shandy and Nathan. He is a bit of a lone wolf, but that could give him a reason to stick around someone. If Shandy lets him, of course! ;)

We can discuss it here, although the specific conversation between Tao and Nathan will probably have to be arranged through PM. Tao's a GMPC, not an NPC, so I'm pickier about what's done with him.

Well it was Brycen who fought Ghetsis using Genesect, right? He'd remember that; three of his Pokemon died in that fight, although he's not the sort to be upset about it openly and it's been long enough that he'd dealt with it. He would say that it was possibly Genesect and while he hasn't seen the Pokemon much since, he's heard of areas damaged in a way that would be like it.

If Nathan still talks to Tao, he wouldn't know much about Genesect, only what he felt from its last chosen. That would be that it is most likely an ancient fossil-related Pokemon due to its thought patterns and that it's highly aggressive. And if Nathan did have one of those episodes, then Tao would be able to tell him about that.

On the past, it's been changed to reflect the state in ClicheStorm more. N summoned Zekrom, while Hilbert summoned Reshiram. Hilda was there, with Kyurem, but he was in a human form. Nathan may or may not have recognized them, as Hilda did draw a lot of attention to herself; she did go into Dragonspiral Tower with Hilbert after N did. Of course, that's not exactly how things go down in my fanfic due to differences in timeline, but I can't reveal those yet. Give me two weeks and then I can start talking.

If Nathan does start talking about N, Tao might become defensive depending on what is said, or he might manage to keep calm on the surface. He won't be mad, at least I don't think so.

Alder would probably tell Nathan to talk to Brycen, lol. He's not seen Genesect in person, but he thinks that what Brycen fought ten years ago is most fitting of the name.

Finally, the Golurk would feel a connection to Shandy, as they share a type, so he'd be inclined to be positive and helpful towards her. So that could work as the start of a friendship.

-+-

So does anyone want to ask questions at the meeting, or do you want to move ahead to splitting up to talk to people? The meeting probably continued for half an hour or so and then the Striaton trio would have offered their dessert to everyone.

> Golurk helping Shandy.

I'd be fine with that. I'm sure Celeste will enjoy playing with Golem as well. :P

Do know, that I'm most likely going to keep Shandy and Leo together, to make my life easier. That could work with the whole Victini's chosen negates the madness inducing effects of the other legendaries thing, though.

I want to post something during the meeting. I'm working on it.

Edit: Done! If something needs to be changed, I'll edit it.

Yes, that was Victini that just entered. Caitlin knows who the boy is, (being psychic,) and possibly Tao, but no one else should know who Vic is yet. :P (That includes Leo. No one tell him!)

@Mon Awesome! We're like a little team! I'll be sure to talk to you about our characters meeting up; we'll get something worked out.

@Ysa Thanks for taking care of all of that! :) I will message you when I have a post drafted up, and we can work out the conversation with Tao and Nathan.

Not me personally, but Kory would have only one question in her mind: Where's the coldest part of Unova during summer XD I guess Brycen will be perfect to answer that one, and that said answer would logically be the Cold Storage. ...Which now that I think of it, it actually brings me a question: How did it change (or not change) after the Plasma takeover? I would assume it was simply abandoned since there's no longer exports to other regions (...but may be still cold and somehow running?), but it would probably best to get the official word from you!

Tao probably would recognize who Victor is, although the resulting conversation would confuse anyone who overheard. It could be amusing, so I'm considering it.

@SoulMuse: Yes, after the meeting; I'll look into that soon.

@Okiku: Cold Storage would still be up and running, although I think one or two of the buildings might be shut off because they don't need as much space. Plasma does watch over the company, but the Storage is owned privately by a business. Other places that would be cold would be Great Crater, especially when Kyurem's awake, although that might not be a smart move... and the lower level tunnels of Twist Mountain due to a natural chunk of eternal ice down there.

Yeah, that's natural. Given the existence of Ice Path in Johto, the ice-type cave in Hoenn, and other areas, some places of the Pokemon world just stay near or below freezing normally and have lots of ice to them.

Well I had hoped to have something for this game too today, but ran out of time. Definitely need to move things along. The meeting's effectively over, so have your characters speak to who they need to so you can then move on to searching.

Oh, and about the thing I wasn't talking about earlier... if you saw my little history section on this game in the SU thread, you might remember that I mentioned this being an alternate future for ClicheStorm. Well there was a pretty big reveal in chapter 37, and that is that Hilbert and N are both gijinkas. So that means that Tao here is also a gijinka.

He is a Normal type, so his Pokemon aura won't be as easy to notice. I let the one Lucario notice because it was a Lucario and thus adept with aura reading already. He does have some abilities, but I'm keeping several of those under wraps until he needs to use them.

Then you might notice that Tao is actually out of the age range that I allowed gijinkas to be, since he's 29 at this stage in the game (soon to be 30). This is because the gijinkas you are playing are a second set that were directly made by Team Plasma. The one who adapted N, Hilbert, and a fair number of people in that cabin did so before he joined Team Plasma. They were not sealed because most of them are of poorer quality and are thus weaker than all of you (and some other reasons...). Although some of them have pretty unique talents, they're not suitable for direct battle.

Oh, good.

How can Hilbert link with Reshiram and be a Gijinka at the same time? *Raises eyebrows curiously*

I'll get a post in eventually. I need to do something with Shandy.

I was hoping Brianna would've caught that Venipede and got here already. :/ Looks like I may have to have a slight change of plans...

Sorry I've been gone. Laptop was broken. I just got it back. :) However, I am moving to College on Friday, so we will see when I get that supposed post in... I'll get to it... eventually. If I can get it to Ysa tomorrow, hopefully I can still keep going.

Well, I'm sorry to say this, but I have to drop this game. I'm finding it hard to work out my schedule lately and this takes up a lot more time than other games. I wanted it to work out which is part of why I restarted it, but until I get more projects done I can't commit more time to it. And it could take me some time to get those clear.

So, sorry once again, but I'm not going to run Divine or any other RPG for some time now.

Ah, that's really too bad. I really liked the game, even if I haven't posted in a while... But well, I totally understand and respect your decision, and good luck with those other projects of yours!

If/when you restart/continue this, you can count me in again, btw.

I'll have my second character up and ready for the third incarnation of Divine, should it ever appear.
