I'm curious, has anyone besides me and Hellkorn read this little gem? If not, here's the specs I wrote up in the Manga Reccomendations thread.

Title: Priest
Author: Min-Woo Hyung
Genre: Horror/Action
Target Audience: Older Teens, Young Adults
Status: On-Going
Liscense: TokyoPop
Number Of Volumes: 1 - 14 available in the US so far.

Synopsis: In the frontier of the American West, a veil of evil threatens to engulf humanity. Servants of the fallen archangel Temozarela are paving the way for their dark lord's resurrection. One man stands in the way of the apocalypse: Ivan Isaacs, a fallen priest who sold his soul to the devil Belial for the power to fight evil. Armed with a wicked blade and silver bullets, Ivan will give the heretics a baptism of blood in his pilgrimage for humanity's redemption.

Personal Opinion: To be honest, this is one of THE most brilliant manga I've ever read, and believe me, I read a lot of manga. The art style is incredibly unique and gorgeous. It's so different, some might argue it doesn't classify as true manga since it's Korean, but I firmly believe that this manga tops a lot of Japanese ones. The story is absorbing, the gore is incredible, the ideas and backdrops are incredible, the characters...everything abotu this is just so seamless and horrifying.

Author's Other Works: Island and Ragnarok

If anyone else has read this, I would love to discuss favorite scenes, opinions, and so on. It's so hard for me to find ANYONE who's read this series. XP

*nodnod* Amen. Priest also has one of THE most awesome opening scenes in any manga I've ever read.....hell, the rush you get doesn't stop until the LAST page. That page of the train exploding and careening off its tracks was IN-FUGGING-CREDIBLE. And it geninuely sent creeps up my back when the demonic undead began killing everyone in the train and no one knows what the hell's going on. 8D

I've heard of this one as well as Ragnarok and Island, but wasn't interested. It seems pretty depressing. But I wanted to ask if you wrote that synopsis, 'cause it's really well written! If you did, good job.

That's the whole damn premise of it, though. Priest is a Korean manwha that can hold its own with a helluva lot of Japanese manga. Pretty good introspective, especially when it comes to religion, love, and loyalties. I really hope that TokyoPop keeps on putting on volumes soon, because volume fourteen left at a cliffhanger.

Anyway, yeah Xian, I love Priest. One of my top ten favorite series, just really impressive art work (particuarly the volume covers).
