I don't have any more earthquake or shadowball TM's so that's a problem,
CB and Leftovers can't be used as hold item for everyone - this is BF you know,
do you know about anything i could use instead?

But thanks anyway. =)

Oh okay, I don't have emerald so I didn't know.
Shell bell? Brightpowder/Lax incense? Use what you have.

Ghostly Robe
19th November 2005, 9:25 PM
Ok, and about that shadow ball TM i just found out that i didn't use it.
So which one of my team members should have it?

If you needed to, Slaking, Crobat could annoy if it needed to and Metagross could use psychic or something. DON'T take my advice or you may regret it.

Ghostly Robe
19th November 2005, 9:40 PM
Don't worry, i'll wait until my Zubat is a Crobat and until my Metang is a Metagross, so it'll take some time before this team will be ready for action.

Well i've just experienced that, but do you have any good replacer?

NickTheDude
19th November 2005, 10:40 PM
Smogon (http://smogon.com/) Should help with EVs and natures. and those hax items need to go , the only worthwhile items are Choice Band , Leftovers , and Shell bell as sub for lefties , salac , chesto [Snorlax] , and lum. and a few other berries. those are the only good hold items.

Psychic for metagross and dont use explosion, I tried it for my emerald BF team and it didn't work. You need every pkmn alive when you face your enemies, so use shadow ball or something.

It's not that i'll use explosion as my first move in a fight, it's just there as a last resort when Metagross is nearly fainted.

Gardevoir @ Quick Claw Leftovers

Will o' Wisp

Arguing with the standard set is foolish.

Slaking @ Choice Band
Return
Hyper Beam
Focus Punch
Shadow Ball

I detest the fact that you have CB Hyper Beam on that set. Try Earthquake.

Houndoom @ Lax Incense I don't like Hax items. Try leftovers again.
Flamethrower
Crunch
Roar
???

HP Grass is your last move.

Metagross @ Leftovers Choice Band
Meteor Mash
Explosion
Rock Slide
???

Sludge Bomb works well.

Crobat @ Shell Bell Choice Band
Sludge Bomb
HP(flying/Earth/Fighting)/Return
Confuse Ray
Return/Air Cutter

Here's the right set.

Sludge Bomb
HP Ground
Shadow Ball
Aerial Ace

You do have the option of HP Fighting like chaos suggested, but I prefer Ground since it takes care of Electric- and Rock-types easily.

Starmie @ Lum Berry Leftovers
Psychic
Ice Beam
Surf
Recover

You've got to have BoltBeam on this guy. Ditch Psychic.

Ok, that's that any suggestions?
Comments are bolded.

Psychic for metagross and dont use explosion, I tried it for my emerald BF team and it didn't work.
Don't use Psychic with Metagross. Gardevoir handles that duty anyways.

jetx i'm sure choice banded substitute will own on slaking ._.

btw don't even use it on non-cb slaking, truant makes sub completly stupid on slaking

and i'm sure giga drain crobat will become standard with it's whopping special attack

along with toxic houndoom becoming standard because of it's whopping defences and staying power

/sarcasm btw

Gardevoir @ Leftovers.
(HP 100, Def 88, Speed 40, Sp.Atk 200, Sp.Def 80)
Psychic
Calm Mind
Thunderbolt
Will o' Wisp

Slaking Lum Berry.
(HP 60, Atk 252, Def 44, Speed 120, Sp. Def 32)
Return
Focus Punch
Shadow ball
Ariel ace

I suggest not having a power-upper for someone who can only attack every other turn... I put in shadow ball because it can hit ghosts with real good power... Ariel ace (which I know is spelled wrong!) is just a personal fave of mine

Houndoom @ Leftovers.
(Def 188, Speed 200, Sp. Atk 120)
Flamethrower
Crunch
Roar
HP Grass
nice... Finally not another Houndoom sunnybeamer! And I like roar for the Battle pyramid

Metagross @ Leftovers.
(Atk 200, Def 52, Speed 200, Sp. Def 56)
Meteor Mash
Explosion
Rock Slide
Sludge Bomb
I like this one too, but I don't really like meteor mash. High power attacks with low accuracy are for pokemon that lack the power to use accurate ones...
Crobat @ Choice Band.
(HP 4, Atk 252, Speed 252)
Steel Wing
HP(Earth)
Shadow Ball
Air Cutter
Steel type isn't very good in the way of offense, being super effective against only rock and ice types, but having something good against ice is always good. I like having stabs for a pokemons type too

Starmie @ Lum Berry
(Def 40, speed 160, Sp.Atk 160, Sp.Def 148)
Psychic
Ice Beam
Surf
Recover
Hint: you could always use a thunderbolt in there, as a way to deep fry water types that you're resistant to

Ok, that's that any suggestions?

All my suggestions are in BOLD

P.s I stink at spelling...

Changes in Italics

That's my opinion. Pretty good all round. Two Psychic types on the team are a bit disconcerting. Perhaps a dragon like Flygon, Altaria or Salamence could boost your variety as an add-on member. In the battle frontier, you aren't limited to six pokemon, just three per event, and this can change every time you enter for an individual challenge.

Rest and Snore on Slaking do not work AT ALL. For one, Slaking is for hit-and-run, not to be used for recovering lost damage, because you'll be getting 2x as much damage while you're sleeping and slacking. Snore doesn't Lolable damage, coupled with only one turn to even use it per Rest on Slaking.

True. I did stress on the ability as I believed not all Slakings should have the Truant ability. I was under the impression that some do have Pure Power, though I cross checked and found it to be false. May i rectify my opinion then? thank you.
Okay, Ghostly Robe, Try this moveset instead:

Slaking @ Lum Berry/Leftovers
Flail (seeing as Slaking can't learn Reversal)
Aerial Ace
Blizzard
Counter (Not when he's loafing around, though.)

Okay? Right, I apologize to G.R. for giving him a moveset that would have led to utter catastrophe and thanks to C.B. for showing me my mistakes in a nice way. Later!

Slaking @ Lum Berry/Leftovers
Flail (seeing as Slaking can't learn Reversal)
Aerial Ace
Blizzard
Counter (Not when he's loafing around, though.)

Lum Berry actually would work, I think, seeing as Burns/Paralyzing ruins Slaking. Good call. However, with Slaking's beastly Attack Stat, Choice Band would destroy absolutely everything it would come up against.

Flail would do a lot of damage with STAB, but there's a 50% chance that you'll be slacking off on the turn it becomes useful. And with Tyranitar everywhere, if you get your HP too low. Return would be better, as at max power, it deals out 102 damage, 153 with Slaking's STAB.

Aerial Ace.....Well, it counters Grass and Bug Types, but Return's going to do more. Look at it this way:

Return with STAB: 153 damage
Aerial Ace with Super Effective: 120 damage

Just use Return against them, and you have another moveslot free. I'd say Focus Punch for this slot, as it'll pretty much destroy any Blissey switch-ins.

Blizzard is Super Effective against a lot of things, I'll admit. But, Slaking's monstrous Base Attack is so much higher than its Special Attack. It's like ignoring a dollar to pick up a penny =/. So you're generally going to do more with non-Super Effective Physical Attacks than Super Effective Special Attacks. Shadow Ball for this slot, I'd say, so you're not totally beaten by Ghosts. Kills Psychics pretty well.

Counter looks good on paper, but you have to rely on your opponent using a Physical Attack, and you can't take that much of a chance when you're only hitting every other turn. Earthquake for this slot, so Rock, Electric, and Fire Types don't dare switch in.

thanks to C.B. for showing me my mistakes in a nice way. Later!

I never fully accepted the harsh way the RMTers correct people here.
