Has your character got stolen? As in, people used your character in their own fanfiction without any permission from you? That's right. I heard that some people used somebody's character in a fic of their own. Giving them the same personality, same look, same Pokemon, but a whole new different adventure. I've come accross this many times. This happens to same people who want the limelight. So they steal your character, creating a whole new fic without asking you permission for using your character.

Question is:

Has this ever happened to you, or have you ever done this before?
Nope, I have not. Anyway, even if I did, I would ask permission from the author. This has never occured to me, as I write fics using characters from Pokespecial, and I totally disclaim them. I only mean authors from the forum and using their character without permission. So please don't get me mistaken.

Well, only the opposite has happened to me. Some ten-year-old ripped off the plot of The Quest for the Legends with some very slight mangling, but changed the characters. Raped them, more like. Either they had different names or they were disastrously OOC. Or both.

But no, I'd never use another person's character without permission and I hope I don't encounter anybody doing that with my characters.

So far, ten people have stolen my Muddy the Swampert character. I think the same might be for Flare the Blaziken. Although I figure the author figures that if I have Brendan and May and they use Brendan and May in their fic, it's also okay to use the Pokémon I gave to them.

I'm still counting. ;)

I doubt it. If they have, they were rather covert about it. I can't really see why they'd bother, to be honest. I wouldn't steal another's character either; I dislike writing with the restraints of pre-defined characters I didn't create or develop.

It's never happened to me. I'd actually be thrilled if someone wanted to use my characters and/or rip them off. Them say imitation is the best form of flattery... and those people are right. So, go ahead and rip me off... I'll still make you feel like a slimeball, but I'll be smiling on the inside for the honor.

Nope, not yet at least. But, I think that if someone actually stole my characters people would notice. I mean how many people have characters like Maxie, Archie our Giovanni. LOL or Taylor. But, I guess it really wouldn't bother me. I'd be proud that someone would steal my character ideas. They'd be the ones with a gulity mind til they beg me for forgiveness.

As always, be kind to the mime.

Nooooo. I haven't seen one story, execpt Not So Sensation (by moi), that has shown the Sensational Sisters in a slightly positive light. So they haven't been ripped off. Nor have I seen a girlfriend and boyfriend accompined by the girlfriend's sister and the boyfriend has a perverted Arcanine. In other words, Kylee, Mason, and Katrina haven't been ripped off. So my answer is no.

It's never happened to me, or at least I don't think it has, and I've never done it. I'd always ask the author before I did it. Otherwise it would be just plain rude. And no, I DON'T think that people should be flattered. Because it's disrespectful and, in some cases, illegal. xP

Well, I've never had characters really ripped. I've had more trouble with plot and/or major aspects of the story being plagiarised. Seriously, though, why on earth would you steal someone else's character? It's just so strange...

Nah, never happened to me and I seriously doubt someone would. But I still consider plagiarizers to be envious people who don't even have a shred of writing talent.

I forgot to mention that it dosen't really matter if you use a character from something official, like Ash in a Pokemon story or Axel in a KH: CoM one. Of course, I'm just being Ms. Obvious again. Nobody'd really care if that happened. I'm just saying that whether you're actually being ripped off or not depends on the circumstances.
