Default Crystal Team for rating (Batlling Red)

Ok, so I'm putting together and training up a team to battle Red at the end of Crystal. The levels are nowehere near ready, but these are the Pokemon and moves that I have at the minute:

    Dragonaire (F) Lv. 30
    • Dragon Rage
    • Thunder Wave
    • Twister
    • Extremespeed

    Electabuzz (F) Lv. 55
    • Thunderbolt
    • Zap Cannon
    • Quick Attack
    • Flash

    Pupitar (F) Lv. 37
    • Bite
    • Rock Slide
    • Sandstorm
    • Thrash

    Typhlosion (M) Lv. 52
    • Flame Wheel
    • Dynamicpunch
    • Cut
    • Swift

    Lugia (n/a) Lv. 65
    • Fly
    • Surf
    • Hydro Pump
    • Dragonbreath

    Celebi (n/a) Lv. 50
    • Giga Drain
    • Safeguard
    • Psychic
    • Future Sight

Where can I go with this team? Is there any 'mon I should get rid of? If so, replace with what?

What moves should I have them learn?

    Thanks.

Train this team up, are you planning on using this team as your final team for E5?

Yes, Elite 4 + Champion as well as Red. Sorry, should've put that.

You mean Electabuzz? Is Typhlosion not all that good a fire Pokemon then? I mean, I know he doesn't have great moves right now, but I'm intending to train this team right up.

And ho-oh is damn hard to get it Crystal - you've got to catch all the legendary dogs. >_<

Mabye I'll trade him over from another version.

Any other suggestions from anyone else?

If you've got Silver, get a Lv. 40 Lugia from there so it knows Aeroblast.

70% of the Serebii population uses ultra powerful legendaries (also known as ubers) in their teams.
If you are one of the 30% that thinks outside the box and doesn't use ubers, copy and paste this into your signature!

I'm going to buy Silver today (along with Red) so I will try and trade over the Lugia when I get him.

Changes are in bold above. You need to level your team up to about 60-70 before facing Red.You have a big Water/Ice weakness.I would recommend to replace Lugia with Stamie.Starmie with Ice Beam,Thunderbolt,Surf,Recover.

Typhlosion is better then Ho-Oh.With the moveset I got post there, its a good sweeper.

Wow, thanks! I ordered Silver today, which should arrive soon, so I'll trade over the Lugia from that, and get Ho-oh from it too

(Crystal Lugia can't learn Aeroblast and Ho-oh is tough to get in Crystal).

No problem.Yeah you would be better off to get a Lugia in your Silver version so you can use Aeroblast if your going to use Lugia.
