    Default Choose Your Roster

A new fighting game arises. Each of you is allowed to pick one member of the roster. No one is off limits, as long as they have appeared in a video game before. To make things more interesting, you cannot choose someone another forum member has already picked. Who is your choice?

    ~SEREBII ROSTER~
Blue Beetle (Batman: The Brave and the Bold)
    Bomberman (Bomberman)
    Dio Brando (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
    Doomguy (DOOM)
    Mewtwo (Pokemon)
    Pain (Naruto)
    Ushio Okazaki (Clannad)
    Yu Narukami (Persona 4)

That depends on what type of fighting game it is, as not all Video game character fit in all. For example Link wouldn't work well in a fighting game that doesn't allow weapons and Ryu wouldn't work well in a fighting game that allows weapons.

The idea of the thread is that together, you collaborate on a roster and build upon the nominations which came before you. Or you could veer it in a completely different direction, and everyone else will be forced to roll with it. It's up to you.

    That might be cool.

I nominate Doomguy. His attacks all involve his various weapons, he can use his rocket launcher to get a much higher jump with minor self-damage, and for a special attack/Final Smash/whatever you want to call it, he uses the BFG.

Sam Stone also works with basically the same idea.

    Go, 1st Gen Mewtwo!

This badass had the highest overall stats in the game, as well as a recovery move and Amnesia to make its special stat even more ridiculously higher. Not only that; practically no one can resist its insanely powerful Psychic attack. If Mewtwo freezes you with Ice Beam, you're screwed, as this dude's Ice Beam attack won't be thawing out anytime soon (or ever for that matter. You better have brought Ice Heal!)

I second Doomguy for being the ultimate FPS badass. Gordan Freeman, Master Chief, Duke Nukem, all pale in comparison to Doomguy.

I'd like to nominate Protagonist from Persona 4. (Or Yu Narukami as he's now known)

This man can summon Satan. He can call upon the power of Lucifer or Gabirel, Vishnu or Beelzebub, Thor or Anubis. The most powerful of Gods from Greek to Chinese to Christian to whatever pantheon. A Persona is the manifestation of the person's personality and Narukami's most powerful one is Izanagi-no-Okami, with the Arcana of The World. Narukami himself is adept with large swords able to fight eagles, stone golems, tanks and even giant robots. He is the master at being diligent, knowledgeable, expressive, understanding, and courageous. His charisma can cause any women to fall for him, even those that want to be a man. His strength of sociability is what lets him summon the most powerful creatures.

This is a poor excuse for discussing character requests in the Super Smash Bros. thread (which would overflow) without getting banned and/or the thread closed, isn't it?

I want Blue Beetle in Injustice...

Really? The YouTube video isn't showing much. Can you elaborate? (I don't watch or read Naruto)

        Spoiler:- Wiki article :

    tl;dr version

Basically has six fields of vision, can summon the King of Hell. Can summon ton of animals from demon panda to a giant 3 headed dog that multiplies when stuck. Can attract and repel objects. Read minds by pulling out your soul. Turn arm in a laser or shoot missiles out of it. Has orange hair and get bitches.

Well maybe not the last one lol.

I think Demifiend would probably be a better choice over Pain, mainly because he does kind of the same thing, but he's pretty iconic. I've never watched Naruto, though, so if Pain is significantly stronger then by all means he should go in instead.

And are we allowed to nominate more than one character? Because if so, then I nominate the Chosen Undead and Shulk.

    Dio Brando.

If Pain counts, then Dio does, too. More fighting games need to give players the ability to drop a steamroller on people.

    Pain
    -Pros:
    • Six fields of vision
    • Can summon King of Hell and demon animals
    • Can attract and repel objects
    • Reads minds by pulling out souls
    • Turn arm into a laser/shoot missiles

    -Cons:
    • ???

    Brotagonist
    -Pros:
    • Power to see the Truth*
    • Can summon King of Hell and demon animals and Gods
    • Life-changing charisma
    • Swordsmanship
    • Leadership
    • Can court any woman

    -Cons:
    • Physically still human, no superpowers
    • Vulnerable to bad cooking
    • Sister complex

*The power to see the Truth is sort of a game-relevant term. In P4 there is a fog that humans can't see through without special glasses. The Midnight Channel is a world which reflects the collective heart of humanity and the fog is representative of ignorance and deceit. By the end of the game the main character removes his glasses and can see through the fog clearly, meaning he can see through lies and despair and all that stuff.

Hm, I was thinking of nominating this character but he's not really a powerhouse. He's got a whole list of unspeakable evil monsters crossed off his "to kill" list but most of it results from him just being immortal and trying over and over until he gets it right.

If we're going to just nominate anime-characters-who-have-been-in-games I might as well nominate Simon with Gurren Lagann. When have they ever been defeated? Never, that's when. Enough Spiral Power and badassery to create the biggest thing ever: Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Just have to have been in a video game?

I nominate Ushio Okazaki. The other fighters would be immobilised by how cute and innocent she looks, which is when she would strike and take them all out with a single blow.

How would Ushio strike them down?

Wrong choice regardless. You're supposed to choose Sanae and her bread, guaranteed to take any opponent down. (With Akiko's jam if you want to go for overkill.)

By the way, if you want more of an actual video game character? I think I'll go with Vectorman. I almost said Aya Brea, but she might not count, since Parasite Eve was a book and, if I have my chronology on the series' release right, film before a video game. Honorable mentions to Booker DeWitt, Sly Cooper and Isaac or any of his personae. Presumably, the latter would end up being joke characters depending on the game.

Give him the ability to drop a steamroller on someone, and we're gold.

That's simple, she gets upset because she lost her robot. Her opponent, distraught at seeing her in such a state, breaks down into tears and must forfeit.
