31st May 2014, 1:52 PM
I left the pokemon center with the egg and proceeded north, out of curiosity I checked out the weird, squirming tree blocking the path to goldenrod city and then I went south in the ruins of alph.
There I arranged the image of a kabuto and after solving the puzzle I found myself in the depths of the ruins, with wild unown appearing like never before; I caught only one of them to get the Pokedex entry, as I said I've money issues and every pokeballs count right now :-)
I then approached route 32,ready to catch a new entry for my team (I decided to add only one pokemon in my team before each gym) and found a female, level 6 mareep, a good one too ^_^.
I trained her and my other two pokemons whilst proceeding south, defeating all the trainers I could find, mostly campers and fishers and I reached a pokemon center right before Union cave.
Other than a really nice guy who gave me a miracle seed while leaving violet city I met a creepy one who tried to sell me a slowpoketail for 1,000,000 pokedollar... If I had that much dough I wouldn't have bought it anyway.. Poor Slowpoke...
31st May 2014, 10:42 PM
After training some more at National Park, I returned to Ecruteak City. I visited the Burned Tower to do some more training there, then I healed my team and I returned to the Ecruteak City Gym in order to challenge Morty. I went to the back of the Gym and I battled against him. I used my Flaaffy against his Gastly, but that battle didn't go well, so I used Quilava instead. I defeated Gastly with Ember and I used my Drowzee against Morty's first Haunter. That battle went on for a while and I beat the Haunter eventually and I used Noctowl and Flaaffy against Gengar. After I defeated it I used my Quilava against Morty's second Haunter and I won the battle. I obtained the Fog Badge and Shadow Ball TM and saved.
1st June 2014, 5:46 PM
With my team healed up I approached union cave and not surprisingly it wasn't a breeze to pass through this one.
My team consisted of quilava, pidgey and mareep (plus the egg) and against rock type pokemon I was facing a clear disadvantage... Nevertheless I charged in, hoping not to face too many trainers, but unfortunately I was spotted pretty quickly by few hikers and had quite a struggle with them... Quilava was my best option (I guess), so I chose him and used ember on anything that came up... Not a great tactic, I know...
Onix was the most troublesome, the other pokemon being geodude and at a lower level, but I managed to overcame every one of those, defeat even the fire breathers and a poke maniac (those with the help of pidgey too), and left the cave with my quilava almost worn out and pidgey with low health.
I took a berry from a near tree and saved.
1st June 2014, 11:15 PM
After getting the Fog Badge at the Ecruteak City Gym, I returned to the Pokemon Center in order to heal my team. I left the Pokemon Center and bought some items at the Poke Mart, then I wandered over to the Dance Theater and I received the Surf HM from an old man there. I headed out afterwards and I went west to Route 38. I wandered into the tall grass there and I caught a wild Magnemite and Miltank. I also battled more trainers and registered some in my Pokegear. I wandered into Route 39 after that and I visited the farm there. I fed the sick Miltank some berries and I went back outside. I battled more trainers on the southern portion of Route 39 and I saved after I caught a Tauros and Raticate.
2nd June 2014, 3:42 PM
With my team on the brink of exhaustion I tried to run directly to azalea town, specifically the local pokemon center, but I was stopped by a hiker that battled me with geodude and machop.
Once again my quilava proved its worth and took down the rock one, but machop was out of the question and I switched my friend off sending in mareep... Pidgey was pretty beat too, having battled in Union cave and the electric sheep was my only hope to get to azalea without losing anyone on my team
She charged with all its might, thundershock hit the opponent pretty hard and on the second attempt it managed to paralyze him... That saved the situation because the low kicks of machop landed pretty hard on my mareep and I was pretty doomed if he'd attacked first... Anyhow, mareep tackled him and won the Battle :-)
I then reached the down, without even speaking to the team rocket grunt that was guarding the Slowpoke well (I was afraid he would start a battle too) and healed the team immediately.
With more patience and peace of mind I started exploring the town and getting acquainted with the local folks.
I learned about the Slowpoke situation with the team rocket from the charcoal man, and a citizen told me about Kurt and that he can make pokeballs out of apricorns.
I saved before Kurt's house, ready to gave him a withe apricorn I obtained from a nearby tree.
2nd June 2014, 10:49 PM
I continued heading south on Route 39 until I finally arrived at my destination, Olivine City. I encountered my rival almost as soon as I arrived and he told me about the Gym Leader being absent from the Gym. I went to the Pokemon Center and then I visited the Poke Mart in order to stock up on items there. I visited houses and buildings around town and then I went to the Olivine Lighthouse in order to find Jasmine there. I climbed the lighthouse while having to battle against trainers and I eventually reached the summit. I spoke with Jasmine there and she talked about her sick Ampharos. She wanted me to get the SecretPotion in order to heal it, so I climbed back down the lighthouse and I got ready to visit Cianwood City.
3rd June 2014, 7:08 PM
I visited Kurt's house to get a pokeball from a white apricorn, but that had to wait as Kurt took off immediately to Slowpoke well, wanting to scare off the grunts who were cutting and selling slowpoketail...cruel business...
I followed him to the well and found the poor guy at the bottom with his back injured, thus not able to proceed.
I took his place in his righteous quest and tackled every grunt I put my eyes on.
Mareep managed to take down a couple of grunt and to evolve into a beautiful flaffy ^_^
I defeated the leader of this little mischievous group and they left the well and the town.
With that I saved the situation, and got even the gym open, nice :-)
I went back with Kurt at his house and he was pretty happy, in fact he proposed to get me any apricorn into nice pokeballs.
I healed my team, consisting of quilava, pidgey and the newly evolved flaffy and headed to the azalea gym, where I saved in front of the door.
3rd June 2014, 10:06 PM
I headed over to Route 40 after I visited the Lighthouse in Olivine City and I went ahead and used Surf once I had approached the coast. I battled against some wild Tentacool as I moved around and then I battled some Swimmers in the water. I arrived at Route 41, but I still had to pass by the Whirl Islands. I decided that I might as well battle against the Swimmers along the islands and then I eventually arrived at Cianwood City. Upon arrival I healed my Pokemon at the PC and I visited the local pharmacy in order to pick up Jasmine's SecretPotion. I wandered around the island afterwards and I obtained a Shuckle from a boy inside one of the houses. I used Rock Smash to the north of town and I caught a Krabby.
4th June 2014, 5:52 PM
I entered Bugsy's gym and just from the name of the leader I suspected the following battles could be anything but problematic... Having in my team flaffy, but most importantly pidgey and quilava, two of my pokemon had a great advantage against bug type opponents.
With the gym's trainers I used flaffy to make things harder, but ended up finish them off with my beloved fire type pokemon (pidgey was at level 17 and I was saving him for the leader, in order to get the evolution at the climax of the gym).
Like the previous battles Bugsy's one wasn't challenging as one could have hoped for against a gym leader... Metapod and kakuna went off as fast as they came in, with my pidgey reaching level 18, and things got a little tougher with schyther (one of my favourite pokemon ^_^), but pidgey, soon to be evolved, proved its worth and defeated its adversary by a really close margin.
Gym leader defeated and Hive Badge obtained! (plus tm 49 containing fury cutter)
Two down, six to go :-)
4th June 2014, 10:06 PM
I Surfed along the Whirl Islands again in order to train my team for the upcoming Cianwood Gym battle, but my current method of training got boring after a while. I returned to Cianwood City eventually and I wandered into the local Gym. I decided that I may as well challenge the Gym trainers and I was able to beat them pretty easily. I healed my Pokemon afterwards and I returned to the Gym in order to battle Chuck. I pushed the boulders in front of where he stood and I battled him. I used my Pidgeotto against his Primeape and I defeated it with two Gust attacks. I then used my newly-evolved Bellossom against his Poliwrath and I beat it with a critical hit Mega Drain attack. I got the Storm Badge and saved.
5th June 2014, 7:14 PM
With the hive badge obtained I proceeded to Ilex Forest, but I was soon interrupted by Dew, better known as my rival.
Surprisingly he started off with Gastly (I guess there were Ghost pokemon after all in the sprout tower) ;
quilava bravely challenged him, overcame the sleeping turns caused by hypnosis and defeated him with an ember attack, and then Dew made things easier for me, sending in zubat and then croconaw (this wasn't unexpected since he took him as a sterter).
Flaffy was pretty pleased to came him and thundershock his way to victory ^_^
The grumpy rival left and I entered the forest, where I got the new addition to my team: oddish.
This was a pretty nice finding, I was a wee bit scared to find a kakuna or paras (not that I don't like them, it's that I was hoping to get a grass type pokemon)
As I kept going into the forest the (not so mystery) egg hatched! Togepi skipped out of it in a really happy fashion;
I called the professor with the poke gear and he was pleased to find out about Togepi too; I saved before heading back to new bark town.
5th June 2014, 9:46 PM
I exited the Cianwood City Gym after I defeated Chuck and won the Storm Badge and Dynamic Punch TM. I met Chuck's wife outside and she gave me the Fly HM because I beat her husband. I healed my Pokemon at the local Pokemon Center and then I taught Fly to my Noctowl. I used Fly to return to Olivine City instantly and I visited the Glitter Lighthouse again. I climbed to the top and I gave Jasmine the SecretPotion that I obtained in Cianwood City and she returned to her Gym once her Ampharos was fully healed. I went back down and I bought some items at the local Poke Mart, then I went to Route 40 again and I trained against wild Tentacool in the water. I returned to Olivine City eventually and then saved.
6th June 2014, 3:13 PM
I ran back to new bark town in order to present togepi to prof. Elm, and during the trip I stopped at Union cave and dark cave, where I trained my newly catched oddish against few geodude; I even used flash with a Zubat in dark cave, but I needed surf to continue, so it was a dead end, even with the lights on.
Professor Elm was pretty happy with the discovery and let me keep togepi with me...unfortunately my team has already a new member in the grass plant, so I won't be using that one...
Anyhow, I turned back to azalea town, and got a called from picknicker Gina... She didn't want to battle me, just to brag about his bulbasaur...
I entered Ilex Forest, found out that my path was blocked by a tree and looked immediately for HM 01.
Apparently the charcoal man was the man to ask for this, so I helped him returning his cutting pokemon farfetch'd (the feisty pokemon was running all over the forest, but I managed to make him run in right direction) and in exchange he gave me the desired move.
I saved after cutting the tree.
6th June 2014, 8:54 PM
I healed my team at the Olivine City Pokemon Center and I headed over to the Olivine City Gym after doing that. I walked up to Jasmine's spot at the back of the Gym since there were no Gym trainers around and I challenged her right away. I used my Graveler against her first Magnemite and I won that battle with Magnitude. I switched to my Noctowl afterwards in order to battle against Jasmine's Steelix, but it wasn't a very easy battle, so I switched to Gloom instead. I defeated Steelix with my Gloom's and all that was left was Jasmine's second Magnemite. I used my Graveler against it and I defeated it easily. I obtained the Mineral Badge and the Iron Tail TM from Gym Leader Jasmine and I saved the game outside.
7th June 2014, 5:08 PM
I went through Ilex Forest past the cut tree, explored it a little and caught few pokemon to fill the Pokedex.
There was nothing out of the ordinary, except from the forest shrine...surely more important than what it seemed at first sight, and a trainer who gave me a tm containing Headbutt, apparently I was supposed to use it against the nearby trees.. What a weird thing to do...
I left the forest going north and after few battles I reached a day care, which may come really handy in the future, and then got to goldenrod city, where I healed my four-member team (quilava, pidgeotto, flaffy, oddish) and checked out the local department store.
I made a refill of pokeballs (even great ones), super potions and started exploring the city.
I saved after realizing I needed a coin case to play at the casino...I may find one in the underground
7th June 2014, 11:32 PM
I visited the Olivine City Pokemon Center after leaving the Olivine Gym, then I purchased some items at the Poke Mart and I went north to Route 39. I wander ed into Route 38 after that and I arrived in Ecruteak City. I headed south and I visited National Park. I kept going south until I reached Goldenrod City and I visited some places around there just for fun. I then left some Pokemon at the Pokemon Day Care on Route 34. I flew back to Ecruteak City and I headed east toward Mt. Mortar. I explored some of the cavern when I arrived, but I left shortly afterward since I still couldn't access the areas that required Waterfall. I Surfed across the ponds on Route 42 until I arrived in Mahogany Town. I saved the game there.
8th June 2014, 5:11 PM
Looking in the underground I found the coin case, and even battled few trainers to toughen up my not so strong team, especially oddish, but I ended up with only flaffy and quilava getting experience points.
I forgot all about the casino and explored the rest of the city, obtaining a bicycle for advertising purposes (regardless of the commercial mean I so got an awesome bike), not obtaining a squirtbottle (the owner of the flower shop apparently wasn't considering me..) and discovering the name rater.
After this pleasant sightseeing tour I entered the gym, ready to face the treacherous leader, Whitney.
Normal type it's quite a neutral one against my team, and without a fight pokemon I knew I had no particular advantage.
I won against all the trainers before the leader with ease and I was soon ahead of Whitney.
Round one was pidgeotto versus clefairy; everything was going pretty smoothly until the opponent used metronome and out of the blue came a thunderbolt attack...clearly I wasn't expecting that, but my beloved bird pokemon managed to resist the blow and end the jolly fairy with a quick attack
Round two was soon monopolized by miltank, unsurprisingly a tough one... Flaffy faced her first and using thunder wave the electric sheep managed to paralyze her...with more peace of mind we growled our way to lowering the opponent's attack, the most troublesome thing about her;
Unfortunately she managed to start a rollout and hit me two times... Flaffy was at risk of defeat and I called her back...with a not so smart move I sent in oddish and while healing the rest of the team with superpotion the mad cow ignored her paralysis status and took down the grass bulb... I sent in quilava and after a long series of ember attack I overcame Whitney with a quick attack (fortunately the growl I used earlier hindered her enough) ^_^
I saved after I got a plain badge (even if at first she wouldn't give it to me) with my team now down to three member... (too bad for oddish)
8th June 2014, 10:03 PM
Once I arrived in Mahogany Town, I headed to the local Pokemon Center in order to heal my team and then I headed over to the Mahogany Town Gym. Unfortunately, I couldn't enter the Gym yet, so I headed north towards Route 43. I walked through the gate and then I battled some trainers in the tall grass on my way north to Lake of Rage. I walked around the route some more until I arrived at the lake's shore. I battled trainers along the shoreline and then I Surfed into the lake itself. I found the Red Gyarados floating in the water and I battled it. After weakening it, I successfully caught it in an Ultra Ball and I Surfed back to the shore. I met Lance there and then he left to Mahogany Town and I saved the game.
9th June 2014, 8:26 PM
With the plain badge firm in my grasp I valued my next move and instead of going north again, direction ecruteack city, I decided to go back a little to talk to every citizen of the city and every previous character.
I went to the radio station where I got the radio function in exchange of a five questions quiz;
After listening few tunes on it I went East, again to the flower shop and the lady who previously ignored me finally realized I was trying to talk with her, only thanks to my recent victory against Whitney capabilities and gave me a squirtbottle...I guess the wiggly tree blocking route 36 shivered a little ^_^
With nothing else to do I trained a bit my team, got a spearow, but not for me, for a guy in route 31 (apparently I act as a postman too...) and proceeded north, where I defeated all the trainers I could find.
I saved before entering the next gate, since the bug catching contest is on only Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Tomorrow I'll add a new member to my team, one that maybe will be able to gave me the first place.
9th June 2014, 10:04 PM
I returned to Mahogany Town after speaking with Lance at Lake of Rage. I visited the Pokemon Center again when I arrived in town and then I visited the local mart there. Lance attacked one of the guys inside and revealed the trapdoor that led into Team Rocket's HQ. Lance went in first and then I went in after him. I passed one of the Persian statues and I had to battle two Team Rocket grunts. I decided to deactivate the traps so that I wouldn't have to keep battling Team Rocket grunts, then I headed downstairs. I wandered around the hideout some more and I battled more Team Rocket grunts and then I eventually obtained one of the two passwords. I headed deeper into the hideout to get the other one.
10th June 2014, 8:14 PM
The bug catching contest was the highlight of the gaming session;
I entered it with flaffy, the tactic being thunder wave my way through the first pokemon I could find and trow Park ball until I could get it.
I went in the upper part of the park and entered the tall grass, where I immediately found a venonat at level 14, flaaffy did his part and after seven trials I caught it, with full health...I thought this could guarantee a nice place in the contest, so I quit the catch and hoped for the best....boy was I wrong...
Third William, with a butterfree, second picknicker Cindy, with butterfree too and first cool trainer nick, with a schyther...I ended up with a Berry for consolation price...
I lost the contest but at least got venonat as the fourth member of my beautiful team.
I then went north, watered the wiggly sudowoodo and caught it, freeing route 31,and kept going towards ecruteak city.
I defeated the trainers on my way there and reached the city, where I healed the team in the pokemon center.
10th June 2014, 9:27 PM
I battled against Team Rocket grunts and even a few Team Rocket Executives around the Team Rocket HQ under Mahogany Town and I soon obtained the second password that would unlock the room with the Electrodes. I headed back to the door and Lance and I had to face off against some more Team Rocket grunts. Me and Lance then headed into the Electrode power room and we battled against the Electrodes there in order to shut off the power generator. Afterwards Lance gave me the Whirlpool HM and he left the HQ. I headed back to Mahogany Town in order to heal my injured Pokemon and I went north to Route 43 in order to train my Pokemon some more for the upcoming Mahogany Gym battle later.
11th June 2014, 9:32 PM
Ecruteak city proved itself to be a challenging episode in my journey to the pokemon league, as few notable battle took place, one after the other.
I started off with the dance theater, challenging and defeating the kimono girls and their eevee evolutions (umbreon and espeon too!) without a single casualty... Venonat even managed to level up enough to learn confusion ^_^
A guy in the audience awarded me with HM 03, aka surf, for my winning streak, but unfortunately the Ecruteak gym's badge is needed for it to work outside battles... With that in mind I decided to go directly to Morty, but before that I explored the burned tower in the upper region, where my pokemon managed to get even tougher as I was confronted with my rival;
All considering the opponent's team was pretty nice, with haunter, magnemite, zubat and croconaw, but I was able to win thanks to flaaffy and quilava.
I healed the team and saved in front of the city gym, with Morty as the next target.
11th June 2014, 10:03 PM
I trained along Route 43 for about 30 minutes just trying to level up my Pokemon a bit and then I went to Route 42 and Mt. Mortar for some more training. That was good, so I returned to Mahogany Town and I healed my team at the local Pokemon Center again. I headed over to the Mahogany Town Gym afterwards and I had to slide around the room on the icy tiles while battling against Gym trainers. I hadn't had to solve the Gym puzzle in a long time so I got confused a few times, but I eventually found the path that led to Pryce's location. I battled him and I used my Ampharos against Seel and Dewgong and I won those battles. I then used Bellossom against Pryce's Piloswine and I won the battle and saved.
14th June 2014, 9:19 PM
Ecruteak city gym was the first step of a pretty long playing session, Ghost type the theme of the trainers;
I defeated the trainers and followed the invisible path to reach the leader, Morty.
My trusted duo consisting of quilava and flaaffy took care of gastly and the two haunter without suffering too much damage, but things got tougher with Gengar...unsurprisingly I may add;
He managed to use hypnosis and put my pokemon to sleep two times in a row...First I used awaken helping my quilava, then switched it for flaaffy, who was able to paralyze the ghost, something which really helped the battle ;
In the end I sent in pidgeotto to finish him off with a gust attack and thus obtained the Fog badge... Badge number four ^_^
I healed the team went on towards Olivine city; I used route 38 and 39 to train everyone, especially venonat, the weak one in the team at level 17, defeated the trainers there and caught a couple of pokemon...this time I decided not to add another pokemon on my team, at least until I reach the sea, for a useful water type.
On my way to the next city I visited Moomoo farm and gave the sick miltank all the berries I had...unfortunately they weren't enough...once I get hold of the fly HM I'll go back to new bark to collect few more.
I reached Olivine city where I was greeted by my rival; this time he didn't challenged me, and just informed me of the absence of the gym leader.
I saved in front of the lighthouse where Jasmine, the leader is supposed to be, assisting a sick ampharos.
