Kanto Adventures .:The Information You Need:..:also discuss it here:.
As the title suggests, the place you get the basic/much needed info you need for the RP.
The Gym Leaders
Amilia Stone: Amilia is a kind hearted person, even though she trains rock and steel type pokemon. She doesn't like hurting other trainers pokemon. But she won't go easy on you. She usually keeps her long silverish black hair tied back in a ponytail, and wears glasses which can sometimes make her green eyes a bit bigger than normal.
Ralph Ryvers: Ralph is a tall, red headed man. He's easily in his twenties, and older than the first gym leader by about four years or more. Ralph has a few freckles adorning his face, along with his ever present smile. He seems lazy and laid back, but don't let appearences fool you. Ralph usually is wearing only swimming trunks when in the gym.
Quagsire♂ 21* Quagsire has a reverse color scheme. Purple where blue, blue where purple and is a bit slimmer/smaller than normal Quagsire. So while weaker in attack, it is faster than normal Quagsire.
Andrew Surge: Grandson on LT Surge, Andrew has aquired his grandfather's blonde hair, love of electrice types and the gym. Andrew also seems to hate weaklings, and shows no mercy on anyone foolish enough to get in his way.
Annabel Flowure: Annabel has taken over the Celadon gym, she is a soft spoken woman, and has extremely long hair that she seems to fancy tying flowers and other such things in. It seems, like her aunt, Annabel loves to wear kimono's and train grass type pokemon.
Primary Gym Leader of Saffron
Rachel Sirin: Rachel is a tall woman with long, dark violet hair and eyes. She loves to toy with trainers, making them run a course of Telipads before getting entry to the room she'll battle them in. Though she is a fair fighter, Rachel will not go easy on opponents.
Secondary Gym Leader of Saffron
Lionel August: Lionel owns the fighting gym of Saffron, he was lucky that this gym leader allowed them to be a secondary gym, once it was shown she might be just a tad too strong. Lionel is like Rachel, to an extent. He is fair. But he can be a bit harsh or cruel in battle, still not knowing when to call the fight off and tell the trainer they have lost and need to come back. His hair is short and as dark blue as his eyes.
‘Jem’ (her real name is unknown): Jem is the newest owner of the legendary ‘Ninja Gym’, though she has toned down the traps, it is still dangerous to sneak inside, and without invitation. Jem loves to dress up like a ninja, and so her real features are mostly unknown.
Blayze Ember: Blayze has changed her name from what it was originaly, to this. She is, in no wait, related to the dearly departed former leader Blaine, but she shares his love of fire types non-the-less. Blaze has white/red hair, and she says it's as natural as her amber colored eyes. But no one is sure about this. Blayze also has one hell of a temper and is not someone to piss off.
Charizard♀ * Blayze's char is the standard shiny. Black and red. She's also larger than normal Charizards, and not affected at all by this outside of her attacks are larger, more powerfull and she is not at all slow. Charizard is a formidable opponent normally, but Blayze's is extremely powerfull.
Viridian Gym: For some reason this gym is closed... But every few months an 'official' comes down to Viridian and will give out badges to anyone that can defeat him.
Steelix♀ 49- appears shiny but in reality it isn't. Due to where and what it used to evolve in the wild, the Steelix has what is assumed to be quartz and diamonds in it's steel skin.
The Elite Four
Tanya: Tanya is as cold as her ice blue eyes and hair looks. And generally has this attitude that she is better than everyone, even if she looses. She has one hell of a ‘poker’ face in battle, so even if she really is losing, she doesn't express it. And sometimes it unerves her opponents long enough to gain the upper hand.
Tanya is the master of Ice and Dark.
Adam: The next most powerfull Elite is Adam, firey and fierce in nature and battling, sometimes even trainers are in danger from attacks when things heat up. This red headed hot head also equips items that further boost his pokemon's attacks.
Adam is the master of Fighting and Fire.
Shade: Third up is Shade, and strangely enough it seems Shade is the elder brother to Jem. But where Jem became a gym leader, Shade rocketed right into the place in the third spot of the elite. Like Jem, he also hides his true appearence behind a ninja like disguise.
Shade is the master of Ghost and Poison
Kyle: Kyle is the fourth of the elite, and while he looks young, as Kyle is barely in his teens. An ace at pokemon, and the type he excels at, Kyle is no laughing matter when about to face off against him.
Kyle is a master of Flying.
The Grand Champion/Champion
The Grand Champion is the trainer that has defeated everyone there is to defeat, and hands down is the strongest trainer out there. The Champion is a trainer that is a runner up, usually either the defeated Grand Champion, or whomever he or she defeats.
Athia Wataru: Looks almost like a cross between her late grandfather's cousin and himself, resulting in near purple hair that sweeps down to her back, and sticks out well against her dark green cloak.
Athia is a master of Dragons.
Will Wataru: An exact copy of his grandfather in appearences, save for the fact his hair looks pink almost. Will has a slightly different attitude than his sister, but almost reacts the same as her. They are twins after all.
Will is a master of Normal and Dragon.
-Note, Athia and Will are my characters, not NPC's. So if you ever run into them, and challenge them unknowingly to a battle. I control the battle, and the outcome. Sorry.
Pokemon are suggested to not be pokebots in this RP, even if they don't have personality sign ups, that doesn't mean they can't have personalities.
As said, this RP is basically free for you to do whatever you want, within reason.
You also don't have to be good, meaning if you want, you might be able to join team rocket, or whatever, as I said for the goals in the Sign Ups.
I am also making a list of common, uncommon and rare pokemon of Kanto. So that will be edited in when I am done with it. And working on the Poke-Path's too.
Also, how you enter a pokemon battle with a wild pokemon, when you want to catch it, is basically make your post, and end it with you stumbling onto something, don't describe it at all. Leave it as vauge as possible, then PM me.
Depending on how well you post, there is (up to) a 15% chance it can be shiny, a 70% chance it's a pokemon you want on your list, a 25% chance if it's shiny it's what you wanted/on your list or a 40% it's a rare pokemon(shiny or not).
Meaning, the better you post, the more you're rewarded
Ok, to prevent it from flodding you all, I am putting it under spoiler. This set has the pkmn from Pallet Town to Cerulean listed.
Spoiler:- Pallet Town - Cerulean City:
Pallet Town outskirts - Viridian City outskirts Common
Viridian City The First Poke-Path station is located here, just a few meters away from the PokeCenter.
Viridian ForestInside the Forest
Poke-Paths When you enter the station you shall approach the person currently running the path, I.E a pokemon Ranger. Aslong as you follow the rules you have up to 6 chances to catch pokemon. I.E Battles. But, you can only keep, at the most Three of what you catch. To prevent you from sneaking out any pokemon, you are only allowed two pokemon, the rest taken and held in storage, along with spare pokeballs, and you are given six Poke-Path balls, which are very ornate looking, being silver and black with little designs and stuff in them. You may ask the Ranger for the gist of what sort of pokemon you may run into, and you will get probably 50/90% of the species listed off to you. Because there are still some species that hide away very well....
Casino You either have to shell out alot of cash, or do something else ... just pm me to find out when you want to get a pokemon from here :x
And a general 'power' guide to the Gym Leader's and the other's pokemon has been added. This is not to say they are at that level, but just how 'strong' they'd be.
Attacks Like the anime, it is unlimited :x aslong as it's not suddenly learning an egg move like Pikachu did. And you have to buy the TM's too. They all are available. ALL of them. Just at the big pokemarts, IE from Saffron and up- just each place has different TM sets. So just head on in, inquire the sales clerk and you'll get the list :x

Ok, one question popped up in my head regarding the Gym Leaders and their Pokemon...
Seeing as this is a free RPG, I'm assuming our characters can take a route to any town they like, or if not, skip Gyms along the original path that is travelled in Kanto (through Pewter then Mt.Moon etc.). Say our character ended up in Vermillion before acquiring any badges, and decides to battle this Gym Leader. Will the Leader's Pokemon be of higher level, or will it match the level of the Trainer's Pokemon.
I think the most possible answer is no, and that a Trainer is advised to take the Gyms in order, but I thought I'd make sure.
I had another question but I forgot it. Anyway, thats what I was wondering...
Well you can skip gym leaders if you want, but if you're going after badges you'll have to come back later for the badge, and their pokemon most likely would be stronger than yours. If you don't train, as each Gym Leader is stronger than the last, save the ones in Celadon and Saffron, those three are about the same in experience/battling abilities. I can give them a 'level' guide if you want, you know basic power level and all that, so you and the others can get a gist, atleast with the help of the games XD on how strong the pkmn should be in battle.
Okay, I have a question, as well, Yami Ryu. It occurred to me once I read over the Gym Leaders/Elite Four: you stated that Will and Athia Wataru are your characters, and that, should one of them ever get into a battle with one of our characters, you would control the outcome. Well, my question is does our overall performance in the RPG up to that point effect how well we do?
Furthering that, is there any possible way to win a battle against one of them? For example...if one of us does exceedingly well in the RPG, followed the rules up to that point, and have a strong team of Pokemon raised, and that particular RPG'er decided to challenge Will or Athia to a battle, would that at all increase their chances of emerging victorious? Or are Will and Athia the all-powerful, omnipotent, near-godly trainers who are to remain the Champs for the entire course of the RPG?
Scar: Sorry I can't really answer your question, as I don't want to discourage or encourage people to seek out Athia or her brother Will. And you can't just randomly run into them either, but they will appear whenever I choose, or wherever. :x yes I am evil at keeping everyone in the dark.
Oh...Sorry, I forgot I had to do that. Anyway, I understand. And I sort of figured nobody would just 'run into' Athia or Will, it was just a hypothetical situation. So I would assume, then, that if someone beats the Elite Four, they would be able to challenge them in that case, or am I still missing something? You know...nevermind, I'll just find out for myself once I get that far in the RPG. ^^;
Now that we've sent you our lists, Yami, are they permanent? What I'm saying is, is it possible for us to alter these lists at some point if we suddenly felt a surge in appreciation for a certain Pokemon or whatever?
yes you may, but please save it for having atleast 3 new pokemon or so. Unless you suddenly liked a certian pokemon so much, then yes you can. Just please don't suddenly spam me with like 20 changes XD
Side note: More information is being added, and the list updated
I have one more question, Yami Ryu (yeah...this should be the last one). Let's say we wish to encounter a Pokemon, but we don't want to catch it; we merely want to raise one of our Pokemon through a random encounter. Are we then able to choose which Pokemon it is, or do we still have to wait for you to confirm its species?
Um, if you're not going to catch it, you don't have to wait for me to confirm it. The list is there for you to know what pokemon to encounter for training/battling, I thought I already explained it. Oh wait I didn't. Anyways, the only time you have to wait for me to confirm it, is when it's left off for you wanting to run into something you want to capture.
Hm ... well ingame trainers start off with what, 3000? That's a bit far fetched, but you can start off with a thousand. Hm .. you can get money from random trainers but they'd probably never have much on them, cause well, it'd suck if you just got payed 10,000 in cash and lost to two people in a row :x
So right now lets have it as:
Trainers starting from Pallet have 1000$
Random Trainers they can meet untill Mt Moon can have up to a maximum of 250$ on hand.
Items are cheaper now then :x
Bug Net: 150
:x what, insect collectors have nets, they gotta get them somewhere.
May: Sorry but I don't think anyone will want to controll your character untill then, as well she is your character, and it's not like she's run into anyone yet. And with how the RP is going you'll easily be able to catch up when you rerturn.
I believe I already informed you why I haven't posted, Yami Ryu. However, for those of you who still wish to know, I'm also suffering from a serious case or writer's block. I've also been preoccupied with a few other RPG's, as well as my life in general. But they're not really so much of an issue like my writer's block is.
Sometimes the worse thing you can do is just 'wait' for your writers block to go away. Sometimes their are other reasons for it other then just no insperation.
If you are unsure if you are able to do a certian act in the rp. You need to just ask about it, thats what this thread and the pm box is for. If you need aid at least.
Scar/May Maple, aren't you two interacting with each other? Is there nothing either of you can do? I dun know, but I don't think you should leave all the inspering to the GM, an rpg reacts to your reactions as well, I know it seems rather simple being a trainer rp, but that makes it more up to you to put depth into it with the GM.
Just a suggestion, try to figure out what is causing the writers block, it may be just some miscomunication.
Nearly eight years ago, I met Yami Ryu on this forum. She was a flamer and angry, but yet we became the best of friends.
It was in December of 2011 that she found out she had cancer.
It was January 9th when she passed away.
A connection I made eight years ago on this forum passed away, alone, unloved by most, her own father probably didn't care.
I love you, Yami Ryu, you are my best friend and I miss you so freakin much.
