Oh, I've heard good things about that. Is it worth the read, or does it just reach the "eh, it's okay" level?
    Thanks Sammi!

    Point taken.

    Library?

Whatever. AegisX will be squealing like a girl when he finds out Vertical has licensed Black Jack.

I believe a public lynching is in order. They must know of the wrongs they have committed.
It will probably be the largest public lynching ever.

Any sane man who enjoys manga should have.

It's actually worth it. There are some down sides but overall, decent book.

Only Battle Franky can squeal like a girl. He's the man enough to do that.

Love, too simple of an answer.

Parasyte Volume 02 - It's difficult to properly convey how much I love this book.

    It's blowing my ****ing mind.

The violence isn't as much of a factor as the hard-hitting first volume was, but nonetheless remains effectively important. There's also a couple of nice plot twists here that are handled very well and would've come across as trite in any other manga-ka's hands.

It remains thought-provoking with being "pretentious" or preachy. The story still seems finite even though there isn't any sort of "goal" in mind. The dry humor is still intact. The characters are handled AMAZINGLY with realistic development.

If it keeps up this quality, I have little doubt that it will end up as one of my top ten favorites. Parasyte is just that goddamn good.

Also, while not trying to raise any sort of political agenda, one of the answers that the author gave during the reprinted Q&As from the original run in the magazine was... interesting, to say the least.

The reader noted that since the parasites are all over the world, thus including America, wouldn't it be funny if a parasite ran for the president of the United States? Hitoshi Iwaaki's response:

"As the Gulf War has shown us, the American president has to be someone who can carry out a massacre in the name of justice. Just being president is enough to make you a monster, so I doubt it would make much difference if the president were human, monster, or parasite."

Hitoshi Iwaaki strikes me as a very... honest man. His stories reflect this (Historie, about two volumes in, is simply amazing) and comments like the above are further indicative.

My only complaint is that that Del Rey is only releasing a new volume every six months! The wait is a killer!

I stayed up tonight reading Karin (otherwise known as Chibi Vampire here), and it's quite addictive.

    A cute comedy/romance/-kinda-horror-but-not-really manga.

The first few volumes are kinda bland, but it gets more interesting later on. I especially enjoy that the mangaka actually focuses on all the characters about equally with the exception of the two main characters, Karin and Kenta (but it's obvious they would get more screentime).

The inclusion of back stories for just about all the important characters is excellent, and I also love all the fluff scenes too. :3

Grr, now I can't wait for Volume 13 after seeing the preview!
WHEN DOES WE GET RAPE SCENE?
(not really rape, but it's going to be juicy, judging from the image in the preview from Vol. 13...)

Has anybody by any chance checked out the new Jump Square that has started this past month?

Basically its one of those monthly mangas.

    I started reading...

Embalming-The Another Tale of Frankenstein by Nobuhiro Watsuki and

Hello Baby by Writer:Morita Masanori and Artist: Takeshi Obata.

I'm gonna try to get some more read later when I get back from work today.

You mean Viz has started ANOTHER anthology?

At least they don't have anything that I'd read in that magazine (as opposed to One Piece in SJ).

And the plural of manga is "manga," not "mangas."

Basically it's the replacement for Monthly SJ.

I got my copies of Buddha Volume 1 and Apollo's Song today, currently reading both. While I'm not disappointed in it, I am sort of underwhelmed by Buddha so far, then again I'm only halfway through the first volume.

Frankly they should pull everything from it and go straight to volume releases.

Except Naruto, since that they're money-maker, and all.

@AegisX: I loved Buddha from the start. Apollo's Song is downright mediocre, though.
