Hey, you. I wanted you to put this on your first post.
I personally dissagree with flame fox. This is a realistic approach on Pokemon, based in real life. So therefor real life places should be used. However treating Kanto, Johto etc as countries in the world can be considered fine i guess. However i personally prefer it when real life countries are mentioned. But to each his own.EDIT: Also, would it be recommended to use the Pokemon 'version' of the world (Like Kanto, Johto, etc.) or to use our world?
Very good article icemew. Some really good ideas.
Well its kinda hard without the URL address...sorry guess i forgot to ask. Once i know i will put it there.Hey, you. I wanted you to put this on your first post.
Keep up the good work everyone!!
Yeah, I realized that now I have an extra space, could I reserve teh awesome Skarmony? I'm 'bout to finish up the Houndour/Houndoom as well, so yeah... ><;
Well, here's Dragonite! It's not as good as the Dewgong one (methinks) but meh...
Dragonite Draconis icarus
(Icarus, is, of course, the guy in Greek mythology who drowned because he flew too close to the sun)
Dragonite is exceptionally elusive and many myths surround it even now, making it a desirable Pokémon to add to any collection. A scaled mammal, it had been considered a reptile for hundreds of years, until modern sensors detected a pituitary gland capable of maintaining homeostasis. Usually a shade of orange, with a lighter underbelly, green wing membranes, clawed front paws, and white antennae, this showy colouring helped Pokémon experts to classify it as a carnivore, at the top of its food chain, despite the fact that it had never been seen hunting. The first Dragonite ever captured, in 1999, helped scientists to confirm their assumptions, and identify its diet as one consisting mainly of fish Pokémon, such as Remoraid, rich in fatty oils. Experts believe that these fatty oils, essential in maintaining a healthy brain, is what gives Dragonite exceptionally good short-term memory and problem-solving skills.
Towering at 7’3” (just over 2 meters), with a wingspan of 5’ (1 ˝ meters), Dragonite are however extremely placid Pokémon, who never battle unless captured. Solitary, Dragonite do not need a set territory due to its amazing endurance during flight, which allows it to, famously, ‘circle the globe in sixteen hours’. This also means that the Dragonite does not ‘belong’ to any place on Earth, but we know that they originated in Kanto. Extremely kind-hearted, Dragonite will often help Pokémon or humans in need, and will protect lost eggs until they hatch. They like to sleep in caves under the sea when they feel the need to rest, which is only very rarely. They are in demand by various Pokémon Leagues as messengers due to their speed and intelligence.
Mature Dragonite bulls will fly to Kanto every year to reproduce. The female, despite being a mammal, lays two or three eggs after a pregnancy that lasts a year. The eggs are the size of a human head, plain and white with a two-inch-thick shell, and are prized by collectors worldwide. The females then carefully bury the eggs, and will watch over her nest for six months, the time needed for them to hatch. In this period the female will hardly eat at all, surviving off the fat she accumulated during her pregnancy. Since Dragonite are the top predators in Kanto, the survival rate of hatchlings is very high. To crack its shell, the baby has to pound hard against it, developing its strength for later in life.
Dragonite are blessed with incredibly long lifespans, ranging to five hundred years in age. A baby Dragonite is called a Dratini, and looks nothing like its parent. Blue in colour and having the appearance of a slightly chubby, 5’11” (1m55) snake, Dratini are far less powerful also and are independent at hatching. Dratini constantly grows and sheds its skin to accommodate its size; they constantly do so at intervals of around two weeks until its evolution. Dratini live in shallow lakes or rivers and hunt small prey such as Goldeen until its evolution, at around thirty years of age. Dratini then become slimmer, grow orbs on its throat and tail, small wings as ears and a pointed horn. Dragonair contain enormous amounts of energy inside its body, which it sometimes discharges through its crystals. The orbs are priceless as they allow Dragonair to control the weather; crushed, they are used in many life-saving cures. However, taking a Dragonair’s orbs kills it; this form of over hunting drove it to the brink of extinction millennia ago, leading scientists to recently label them as myth only to be proved wrong. Dragonair can fly, and have enough experience to master attacks such as Dragon Rage instead of simply using its powerful body like it did as a Dratini. Dragonair are almost mythically gentle, docile Pokémon, and are considered beautiful and a perfect pet by many women. Dragonair also hunts flying Pokémon such as Pidgey, and due to this varied diet and new attacking power, Dratini which successfully evolve almost always survives to adulthood.
After a hundred years as a Dragonair, the Pokémon is ready to evolve. The process of evolving from a Dragonair to a Dragonite takes over two years, and during this period the Dragonair will find a cave deep under the sea, seal itself in and hibernate until fully evolved. Experts still cannot understand how the evolution process takes place in wild Dragonair; capturing a Dragonair in a Pokéball causes its evolution to take place rapidly, under a bright glow. Once evolved, it will immediately take to the sky to find a mate. Unlike what many romantics think, Dragonite do not mate for life; they meet, reproduce, then part ways. (It should be noted, though, that some young men find this method very romantic also.)
Alright, I'm back. I hope I did it right. I was a little confused about the genus thing. This is in as if Zubats/Golbats/Crobats existed in the real world. This is a first-timer, so criticism IS needed.
Here is my entry on Zubat/Golbat/Crobat. Hope it’s good.
NOTE: I will begin with Zubat and Golbat before I go into the Crobat part.
Crobat (Vampyrum Kurobatto)
Height: 5’03” Weight: 121.0 lbs.
Golbats are bat-like creatures that live approximately 10-30 years, depending on environmental attributes and, if owned by a trainer, the care it receives from its trainer. There appears to be no sexual dimorphism between both genders. The most noticeable feature of Golbats are the white fangs protruding from the top and bottom of the mouth. This gives the Golbat a frightening look, and many humans find it unsettling. This must be how many legends of ‘vampires’ got started.. . Golbats are natives of the Americas, ranging from Canada to Argentina.. The only places they cannot be found are in the Arctic and Antarctica, as the cold will kill them. Zubats are prominently colored blue, with their wing membranes purple. There are rare cases in which a Zubat will be born green, and their wing membranes pink. This continues as they grow up to become a Golbat. Their fur is short, so it is hard to see it from afar, but, as you get closer, you will notice the fur.
Golbats are nocturnal. Whenever they are out in the sun, their skin is extremly sensitive to sunlight. . With a Golbat, however, this condition is more then a simple irritation, as the sun’s light can cause burns. The Golbat's short fur does nothing to prevent the sunlight from hitting its skin. Thus, when daylight comes, A Golbat will immediately search for a dark place to roost until sunset. Golbats and their young, Zubats, roost together in caves with colonies of 30 or more. During the day, most of the time is spent sleeping, but as sunset approaches, many wake up and begin their screeching. This is only the calm before the storm, as a whole colony can screech immensely loud. The noise rivals that of an Exploud!
Golbat’s legs have microscopic grips on them, which allow them to hang onto the crevices in the rock face of their caves. Their wings are strong enough that they can fly almost the whole night without tiring.
The Golbat’s mating season is between March and June. This is so by the time winter comes, the young Zubats, as they are called, will be strong enough to survive. Any male Crobats in the colony will have first-pick at a mate. The remaining Golbats will gather in an ‘arena’ of some sorts on the roof of the cave. The females will surround the area as the males gather inside. The males, to impress the females, have ‘screeching’ contests. Whoever can screen the loudest will win and have the right to mate with a female. The loser will have another chance, as there is both gender populations are approximately equal. After that, the male and female Golbats will fly to a secluded corner of the cave and mate upside down. When the mating is complete, the pair will then proceed to make a ‘hole’ of some kind into the rock wall. The gestation period is usually from 3 to 5 months. The Golbats have a unique birthing procedure. As the Golbat begins to lay her egg, the male golbat will hover under her. When the egg slides out, the male will catch it with his legs, and carefully place it in the nook. After the deed has been completed, the male will help the female take care of the young until the Zubat is healthy enough to fly. The reason for this strange egg-laying procedure is because, if laid on the ground, egg eaters such as Rattata and Ekans will be able to eat them during the day or when the colony is gone. After the baby, referred to as a Zubat, the Golbat will feed it for 1-2 days before the Zubat is strong enough to use its wings and stay with the colony.
Zubats have no eyes whatsoever, so they use echolocation to find their foot sources. Their wings are smaller, and have two probe-like appendages for legs, with the same microscopic grips used by Golbats to roost on cave faces.
Golbats are indeed bloodsuckers. They will usually go after Tauros, Mareep, Flaffy, Ampharos, and the occasional Torchic. They do not drink human blood, as something in human blood makes it distasteful. Their fangs, when trying to get some blood, secretes a soothing toxin, which will cause the victim to go into a trance, allowing the Golbat to scrape at the flesh, causing a small wound to open up. Their saliva contains draculin, which stops the victim’s blood from clotting. They will then lap up the flowing blood. The Golbats will die in several days if it has not gotten enough blood. Female Golbats are generous and will give blood to those who lack it. Golbats also eat the occasional berry, and hunt Venonats and Venomoths.
When a Golbat has reached a peak of immense happiness in its lifetime, a sudden change will occur. The Golbats anatomy changes dramatically. They will go to a secluded part of the cave, and overnight, they will become a Crobat. Their fur changes from blue to purple, with their wing membranes becoming blue. There are cases in which a Golbat who had an unusual fur color will instead, as a Crobat, have pink fur and green wing membranes. The Golbat’s legs change into another pair of wings. These hind wings have gripping abilities, and provide a boost while flying. A male crobat will become the alpha male in a colony, holding rights to mate with the female. The other males will have to wait their turn. A female crobat holds no position, though male Crobats will often choose them over the Golbats.

Good work Libie. I never imagined Dragonite as a mammal! I thought it was just as good as Dewgong.
Best lines in any article ever!Dragonite do not mate for life; they meet, reproduce, then part ways. (It should be noted, though, that some young men find this method very romantic also.)
Also good work for you Red94. Its pretty much basically what we're looking for. Good job. Looking forward to any future articles.

it hits the 70 mark awesome work everyone 30 left till half way
Wow, I'm on a roll here with the Swellow family complete! All hail the 71st article!!!
White-Bellied Swellow Hirundininae albus
(French people will recognise the relationship to hirondelle, which of course means swallow (the bird) in French, and albus reminds us of – who else? – Dumbledore Swellow here shares the top-diving speed of the world’s fastest animal – the peregrine falcon)
A species of fork-tailed, bird-like Pokémon native to Hoenn, the Swellow is an extremely swift and agile insectivore, and has extremely honed flying skills rivalling Ninjask at high speeds (the two species sharing shoulder joints much like a human’s, allowing the wings to pivot 360° in 3 dimensions during flight). A small Pokémon, reaching 2’ 4” at adulthood (just over 60cm), and weighing in at 43.7lbs (just under 20 kg), Swellow are however aggressive hunters, diving steeply at 260mph (420 km/h), accumulating kinetic energy with deadly accuracy, and knocking the prey unconscious upon contact. Swellow are extremely conscientious of their glossy, streamlined wings, whose upkeep are crucial for survival. Couples are often found grooming one another on treetops, and contrary to popular opinion these pairs are not in relationships; in fact female Swellow are notoriously dishonest companions who often have eggs fertilised by over five different bachelors, despite already having a mate.
Swellow have territories of over thirty square miles; even though many of these territories overlap most of the Swellow population at any one time is consisted of 80% eggs and young, meaning that spotting intruders is very seldom. If two Swellow clash for space, however, conflicts include flamboyant displays of their pearly-white underwings and their red chest markings, paired with intimidating screeches that can be heard within a two-mile radius. If insufficient to deter the intruder, Swellow will dive-bomb one another until one is either dead or unconscious and presumed dead. Swellow are perhaps the only Pokémon able to evade another Swellow’s speed and accuracy during flight, and fatalities during such clashes are not uncommon.
Every year during late October, Swellow will migrate to southern Hoenn in search of warmer climates. Swellow are extremely specialised hunters and do not have much in the way of defense against the cold. These Pokémon will sometimes cover over two thousand miles to reach Dewford Town, where they will spend the rest of the winter until early March, when they will deem the climate acceptable to return to the north before the unbearably hot southern summer.
Swellow males often mate for life, although, as stated above, Swellow females are far from faithful (certain experts, however, declare this as a way to expand the species’ genetic pool, and as thus should be tabbed as acceptable behaviour. This would explain the Swellow’s success in Hoenn, although some cases of consanguinity due to most young not knowing their parents have occurred). To find a mate, Swellow males sing in a shrill tremolo appreciated by many humans. Both Swellow will then build a large nest out of twigs on a high branch in a tree. A female Swellow is pregnant for three weeks and then lays five to six eggs. The female will then incubate her eggs for a month, with the male flying off for food. Swellow chicks are called Taillow and since the mother can only feed three Taillow at once, the weaker ones are often pushed out of the nests or starve to death as a way of preserving only the fittest. After the Taillow hatch, both parents will leave the nests for up to twelve hours a day to hunt and bring back food, leaving the chicks vulnerable to predators. It is common for only one chick to survive per nest, and that Taillow will grow rapidly due to the good supply of food. At around two weeks old it will be strong enough to leave the nest, and at five weeks it will be fully fledged and be capable of flight.
Swellow as adults have a very short lifespan of fifteen years, spending most of their time as Taillow. Taillow evolve at around ten years of age, and the process takes only a couple of weeks. Taillow are also much more placid than their adult form, and less able in flight, making them prey to a variety of Pokémon such as Ninetales, Arcanine, Houndoom and Mightyena. They are also a good test of a beginner trainer’s skills, and many young trainers have Taillow or Swellow in their collection.
*scrolls down the list of Pokémon* Hmmm.. I'm not really satisfied with some articles' description of evolution through love (no offense), so can I reserve Azurill/Marill/Azumarill please?

'Tis here! Sorry. Just when I was about to post, Erureido came along, and I had to rewrite the article. Oh, and BTW, when we get to the D/P articles, I claim Pochama and Yukikaburi. Just sayin'.
The Western Gardevoir (Vigilo sirnight)
Conservation status: Rare
Habitat: Mainly found around urban areas.
Diet: Vegetarian; eats berries and various fruits for sustenance.
Height: Five feet and three inches, one hundred and sixty centimetres
Weight: 106.7 pounds, 48.4 kilograms.
Average eggs: When mating with another Gardevoir: 10-15. On average, at least one will fail to hatch; Erureido: 5-10. On average, 7 will hatch.
Lifespan: 125-350 human years
Gardevoir has an appearance noteworthy both for its elegance and its femininity, regardless of what gender it actually is. It has a long, slender body with a pair of thin white legs, both covered by an equally skinny billowing dress. It has a relatively large head with a pale, white face, large red eyes, and a green bouffant-like hairstyle. That hair is the only hair on the entire body. It has long green featureless arms and two crimson horns on its front torso and its back. These add up to a body that is rather frail.
Gardevoir have an attachment to anything it loves, and as such, will give its life to save its Pokemon Trainer, children, unhatched eggs and breeding mate. Before sacrificing itself, however, it is likely to use psychokinetic energy to thwart the foe. A Gardevoir can form its energy into a black hole, to suck in the opponent. It can also see the future, meaning that it can direct its young away from deadly paths, into safer areas where the future has nothing but play in store. This has a downside, because phony fortune tellers can use their Pokemon so that humans know their life’s story as well.
A Gardevoir will put some of its power in reserve so it can resist the pull of gravity. A Gardevoir’s level of maturity is judged by: how it acts toward human males, and how long its hair is.
After a period of three weeks, a Ralts will hatch from an egg. Ralts are normally 40 centimetres (one foot and four inches), and the average weight is 6.6 kilograms, or 14.6 pounds. It appears to wear a long white dress, though it is unclear as to whether it has a body underneath, or whether this "dress" is its body. Its head is also white. It has a green bowl-cut of hair -- although some say it looks more like a helmet -- and two red semicircular horns that grow from the front and back of its head. Its eyes are completely covered by its hair/helmet, but they are in fact a light red and very melancholy. It has leg-like appendages as part of its dress, which it uses to hop, most scientists have agreed.
A Ralts will mostly stay with its mother, only going out when it senses happiness, and positive emotions. This means that a few Kirlia start a game, before a Ralts starts to join in. If it senses negativity, it is likely to hide, and start crying. This sensitivity has confused many scientists. A Ralts’ psychic abilities are not developed properly yet, so they are likely to be only skilled at telekinetically lifting berries or leaves which were shot as an accidental Magical Leaf. When a Ralts has lost its sensitivity, and therefore matured it evolves into Kirlia.
Kirlia look a lot like human ballet dancers. They all have a white flap of skin that opens up like a skirt, even the males. Under this thick white skin, there is a thin, green, delicate skin that covers their thin legs. They have two flat semicircular horns at an angle on their heads. These horns are amplifiers for their already powerful psychic powers. They have green hair with parts that look like ponytails on either side of their heads. Their eyes are red and large. Kirlia are quite petit at two feet and seven inches (80 centimetres) and light at 44.5 pounds (20.2 kg), which may be how they can stay on their tiptoes at all times. A Kirlia which is exposed to positive emotions, however, is a lot more beautiful than an ordinary Kirlia.
They use their psychic powers to resist gravity’s pull, but they are not yet as adept as when they are Gardevoir. A Kirlia spins and dances when happy, and may sometimes get quite dizzy, especially on sunny days. It controls its psychokinetic powers with its highly developed brain, which surpasses even that of a human’s, with help from the horns to amplify the power, which may sometimes create a rip in dimensions to create non-existant mirages, or even possible futures.
After a Kirlia has either matured enough, or in the males case, perhaps found an Awakening object, the Kirlia will either evolve into a Gardevoir, or Erureido.
The Western Erureido (Gladiatus erureido)
Conservation status: Rare
Habitat: Mainly found around urban areas.
Diet: Omnivorous; eats fruits and fish.
Height: Five feet and three inches, one hundred and sixty centimetres
Weight: 114.6 pounds, 52 kilograms.
Lifespan: 100-250 human years.
Erureido is a masculine form of Gardevoir, and it has some significant differences with Gardevoir. Along with the Fighting-type addition, Erureido has two blades beside its hands. Its legs are white and are not covered by a gown. On top of Erureido's head, some kind of blade is attached, most likely a horn. Like Gardevoir, it has two red horns on its torso and back. Erlade's hips are attached by a kilt or tunic. It also bears a striking resemblance to a Roman gladiator.
The Western Erureido is a fully male species. An Erureido comes into the world when a male Kirlia awakens its true soul through an item of some sort. It could be a berry, a stone, or anything. No matter what the item is, as soon as the Kirlia makes contact with it, it evolves.
To make its masculinity known to female Gardevoir, an Erureido eats fish to show that it is mature enough to start on a more expanded diet. This explains why an Erureido, despite being the same height as a Gardevoir, is heavier.
An Erureido is very fierce, and when anything attacks it or its partner, it will fight back with the sharp blades, which protrude from its elbows. Many a Pokemon has faced an Erureido and not lived to tell the tale. It trains using a student as a test battler. Because of this, many Erureido have high defence against Pokemon that do not strike physically, and also is very powerful physically.
To attract a mate, it will demonstrate using its blades to a Gardevoir. After this, all males that want one particular Gardevoir will crowd around her, and the first one to break the psychic barrier she is encased, and teleport her away is the winner. Some Gardevoir prefer to mate with male Gardevoir, so sometimes Erureido do not mate and pass down their skills.
If an Erureido does have eggs, and any are male, the Erureido will take his Awakening Soul item to his home as a shrine, and the male Ralts and Kirlia will train under their father and pray at their father’s Evolution Item as a hope that one day, they will be as mighty. Erureido treat all their children as equals, and will not get frustrated if they get something wrong. Instead, it will correct them, and it will act humbly towards Ralts and Kirlia that correct it.
Yeah i did that but it still didnt work, turns out i had the wrong address. But got it now so no worries.Simply copy-paste this into your first post:
Heh heh...yeah i know, im not that smart with computers!! :PJust right click the image and click properties
Libie another excellent article, with another reference to male unfidelity (i sense a pattern??!!), come on not all of us are bad.
And a great article ~Alexis Laistenna~. With a nice subsection. It worked very well. Keep up the good work.
Ah sorry my mistake. I read again and yep...damn women!(May I just correct this... female Swellow are the ones to flirt about, not the males As noted female Swellow will elope with bachelors only, as males are actually very trustworthy )
I agree with Trax, we'll never get this encyclopaedia finished if people've been reserving for 3 weeks or more! I'm chugging along nicely with Azumarill, so may I please reserve Milotic? (I've got lots of ideas for its article )
Nosepass (Sedimentious magnetificious)
Height: 3’03” Weight: 213.8lbs
Nosepass are particularly unique pokemon due mainly to their unique magnetic abilities. The nose of a Nosepass is always facing north, making many scientists believe for a long time that the pokemon never moved. However, recent studies have shown that they move little over 3/8 of an inch every year. Due to their main habitats generally being caves or mountain-sides, hikers, climbers and cavers alike use Nosepass to gain their bearings.
In appearance, Nosepass, at a first glance, appear to be nothing more than lumps of rock, and this has caused accidents in the past due to people standing on them and being attacked. However, upon closer inspection, the nose is a different colour. It has recently been discovered that this is due to the composition of the nose, as it is made of a different mineral than the rest of the body. Scientists are still studying why this is the case.
The diet of Nosepass is not particularly varied, and consists mainly of sediment rocks and magnetite, a peculiar magnetic rock. It’s abilities, commonly referred to as “sturdy” or “magnet pull” aid them in finding food, the former giving Nosepass the ability to charge walls to loosen rocks and the latter drawing magnetite from the surrounding area towards Nosepass. Due to it’s almost complete lack of movement, both abilities come in extremely handy.
Not much is known about the breeding habits of Nosepass due to their inability to come within a close proximity of each other, a drawback of their strange magnetic abilities. The gender ratio is almost evenly split between male and female, allowing for a thriving population.
Although Nosepass is a plain Rock type pokemon, it’s magnetic ability does allow it to learn a variety of Electric attacks, such as Thunder Wave and Zap-Cannon. This does come in extremely handy for covering Nosepass’ weakness to water.
As a final note of interest, it has lately come to light that Nosepass has an evolved form, although very little is known about it at present. It has temporarily been named Dainoosu and is rumoured to have evolved from training up in the region known as Tengan Mountain in the Shinou region. Scientists are still investigating the phenomenon.
I most probably dislike you.
I'll do Duskull/Duskclops/Yonowaaru
Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?
Torkoal is my Bishie
STEW'S A PIMP!!!
great nosepass article it was cool to add dianoosu
I totally agree with the time limit for writing articles. I think two weeks is better though...some of us work and have kids (I do anyway). As such, I'm gonna give up on the metagross article. I've got about half done...I went to finish tonight, wrote a good 4 long paragraphs, then lost it all when IE screwed up. I might reserve another one tomorrow...an easier one. I didn't particularly like what I had written, so all isn't lost. Thanks guys.
