Neither of my parents really care either way. I just say I want this volume or these volumes, and I either pay for them or get them on present-giving occasions. They rarely bother to look at what I'm getting very thoroughly, and that's why I have a lot of the manga I do.
I guess they're just happy I prefer to read books and manga and do physical activities rather than watch TV and eat junk food.

My mom loves manga and reads it oftenly.
She sometimes buys her own manga for her to read and reads some of mine.

My dad didn't mind that I started reading them but when I wanted to buy them it was a diffrent story. I had to buy them with my own money and after awhile he stopped letting me get them but I am sure that he will take me back soon enough. And when he does I will buy all my moneys worth .

My parents don't give a darn about the manga I read, they let me read it no matter what the content is, or what the rating is.
They let me purchase some off the internet when they no NOTHING about the content of the book, and my Dad even bought a volume of InuYasha that was rated Teen for my little sister, when she was six years old.
The same goes for TV shows too, my sister and I have been allowed to watch things like Family Guy and South Park since I was nine, and she was four.

Well, it's my money so I buy what I want.

But in my brown family they don't know anything about manga. A book is a book to them. If it has words, it's worth reading.

Cause in my family I have to become "a doctor or engineer"............yahh.

It seems like my parents don't care what I but, I mean, my dad bought me Death Note because he heard it was good, and we both enjoy it. But he banned me from watching Shaman King when it premired, and almost didn't let me watch Yugioh because Yugi was 'possesed' o_o Sooo, whatever....(Maybe it was because I was younger?)

I dunno what my parent's feelings on Negima would be. But I read it.

my dad doesnt care. He's from africa, and was an otaku when he was a kid, so when nostalgia calls, he borrows a shonen jump or a golgo 13. my mom is all like" Why don't you buy AMERICAN comics, like batman. the japanese got the idea from us. just like that wierd music you listen to (Is refering to J-rock)" and i just give her a stare that makes her know that i know that she doesn't know WHAT she's talking about. Eh, i buy em ith my own money anyway.

Uh... my mom doesn't care that much, but sometimes she thinks I should spend my money on other stuff besides manga, even if I barely buy any... My dad thinks manga is kinda cool, but he doesn't care either. Basically, my parents could care less.

My parents don't disapprove of manga. While my father doesn't really care for it as well as anime (he just isn't interested into animation and cartooning at all, with a few exceptions like Futurama and The Boondocks comic strip), my mother actually shows something of an interest in manga. In fact, she's going to read a one-shot tonight before going to sleep (the timing of me replying is rather ironic), so I'll see what she thinks in the morning.

Interesting to note, though, I was able to get my aunt to read the first nine volumes of Berserk, and the first volume of Eden: It's an Endless World!, in that order. She enjoyed both, surprisingly enough.

No offence, but I'd have to side with your mother on that one. I mean, we can't put aside manga for family now? Seriously?

Uh, no, there isn't a difference. Manga are essentially Japanese comics. Deal.

Hey, give her credit, she's not that far off.

My parents do not really care about my manga, but whenever I say that I want to live my life like any certian character of a manga then my mother begins to hate manga.

My parents took my anime and manga away for a month once, lol. They HATE it. They think I'm wasting my life on it. xD Of course, I'm grown now, and I can do what I want. I may be wasting my life on the stuff, but I'm not exactly throwing my life away either. I know where my priorities lie. I just spend all my at home free time reading manga (and playing online). Is that so wrong?!

*Note that at home free time doesn't include hang out with friends time, lol*

My father never cared about my anime/manga hobby at all.

My mother, however, has always had a problem with it. Because I'm a girl, she feels that comics are not suitable for me. Plus, she thinks I'm too old for them... Yeah, she considers them 'cartoons'. Though, this one time, she freaked out at me watching this one Hellsing episode because of all the blood. XD;; I guess it also doesn't help that she's religious.

It's all moot nowadays, since I'm over eighteen and on my own.
