My methods to get the juices flowing is to jump around. There's a scene that's begging to be writen BUT it won't happen until long after the scene I'm currently writing, which is going nowhere, so, I go ahead and put in something to mark the separation of the work that's completed that's sequencial and then pour out the later scene. Sometimes, figuring out the events that come after help you to figure out what has already happened.
